In my case: Intro and everything what is related to video (Intro, main menu and loading screen which never ends btw.) doesn't want to work propetly. Audio is fine. Is game supporting AMD and Intel graphic cards? Version .82 (I guess, I have downloaded it today)

Specs:

1. Graphics card (I guess...) AMD Radeon R9 M375 and Intel HD Graphics 5500

2. CPU: Intel core i7-5500U

3. Mainboard: Who cares? I have a laptop, I don't care about such things!

4. Ram: 8GB + readyboost 16GB

Hi. My customers dont ask for iron, but i have plenty in my shop. I dont know how to make them upgrade, please help.

The Customers will continue to ask for all tiers at or under your current hammer tier

Construct an iron hammer and they should ask for iron. - same applies for everything above that -

Basically, It means Focus on getting 3 ingots for a pick or for a hammer and dagger/spear - or 5, for a hammer and pick, and mining for more before trying to sell it.

Yes, i knew for the pickaxe rush. Thanks for the Hammer. Didnt know what it changes.

Thats why i actually have iron for the first time lmao im making 7 crates of ore each time i go to the mine

Jak KCE włączyć gre do wyskakuje krytyczny erorA.

A.

as of alpha 0.0.81, if I rotate something, it gets stuck and i cannot move it while still holding rmb.

(+1)

*0.0.82 - Yes. though. That's... not technically a bug.. more of an upgrade flaw. You see

In 0.0.81, when you rotated something, It'd immediately begin rotating back to where you rotated from, forcing you to rotate quickly and then drop it and grab it quickly, in order to maintain the rotated state.

in 0.0.82, It stops, preventing it from immediately rotating back. It was supposed to be a mechanic that allowed us to have greater control on rotation - As long as rotation was all you did, you'll be able to prepare, drop and grab it so you can move on with it

I think for the most part, this is for flipping crates upright, and downright - to allow them to be stored in, and to be quickly emptied, without immediately whipping back up, and sending ore, or otherwise, across the room/field/world.

Though yes, Most would assume that the actual change was to make them simply keep the rotation, and continue to be movable, but for the most part - this is the intended change, and unless i see Dasius say "no the stopping in midair is a bug, only meant to keep rotation" I assume that its intended this way. - Personally, I kinda like it this way - for instance. I like to stick my freshly smelted ingots into a crate, carry them to forge, and then dump them out - The stopped movement helps me not accidentally yank the crate to a side and hurl ingots with the momentum either off the forge or out to the yard

Plus, I can walk a slight bit away while emptying them, and go "Okay that customer wants aaa........ pickaxe" and walk back, toss the crate into the yard, finished emptying already, and set out to make the pick. instead of waiting for the ingots, tossing the crate so I didn't carelessly knock something over with it, and then checking, and coming back

another person had this issue, I think from the way they talked, it just eventually fixed itself. - Keep trying to sync up it being opened and the shop being open, or it closed and the shop closed - and eventually , sleep - save - quit, and reload, and see if it stops misbehaving.

I can't remember if I told him or if he did anything else than that - Find his post and reply to it, asking what he did to fix it if you're interesting in a better answer - I told him how odd and crazy it sounded and I've never personally had it so I don't know a good way to fix it.

Version 0.0.82

1. Ingots stack on the anvil and sometimes don't count properly because of it.

2. After loading the saved game customers don't want to buy stuff I crafted before quitting the game, so I have to destroy it on the anvil and craft again.

3. Boxes glitch into each other, when I order stuff two times in a row.

4. The light in the shop a little bit glitchy sometimes

Still want to say thank you for fixing annoying bug, when all the weapon become heated and disassembled after loading the game. Good job!

Not sure if anyone else has had this but, after about an ingame day and one skill point alocated, when I open up the skill menu it makes my charatar look all the way down and I can't see the menu.

The reason isn't related to anything on the actual page itself, You likely used the Carriage, or perhaps hit some sort of physics variable wrong.

Your character model is actually, technically not positioned right, even if everything about what you see looks right, and this affects how your character "puts up their arm and holds a piece of paper in front of its face" - head on over to http://mlbs.slipcor.net/ and download one of the last two versions of their Save game fixer applet.

I think the last version actually has all the features on it, but the 3rd version is the one that specifically helps your issue.

"reset player model" doing this should fix your sheet issue, as well as any other misc issues that you might not be aware of happening related to it.

"Reset horse and waggon" can assist in fixing issues with the horse that may (likely) have caused the character issue in the first place, however, ultimately, you're recommended to not actually drive the cart until a later time, as its known to be quite buggy, still.

What do you use to run the .jar file?

(+1)

If you can't just double click it/execute it/run it

It is used by Java, which most people have installed for other reasons than MLBS - JAR is a Java archive and while not all of them launch their own applet, some, and these ones, do.

I think in the event that it doesn't automatically open on its own, it means Java isn't pathe/ pathed correctly - which doesn't stop Java itself from running, but does prevent a decent amount of discovery.

You can try and just tell Java to run it, or you might try looking up how to path Java so that you can just run it without telling Java to do it.

Or you can try and wait for Slipcor to take advice on the matter for the fixer.. I feel like I remember seeing a comment somewhere talking about using it in alternative ways...

I installed a new version of java and it works! Thanks!

It feels like my save is brand new, besides my progress.

Not sure, is it a bug or not, but fancy grips marked as common grips.

If I try to pick up the drawing of all weapon, the game start lagging and run about 5 FPS

(+1)

Mentioned that it Duplicates.

The game doesn't really lag, I don't believe, though.

You just assume it does because the /drawing/ lags.... Though. I could be wrong. Your computer is not my computer, and for you, it could seriously be lagging.

take them to the incinerate every time you reload the game to prevent them from piling up.

Rotate them a few times to get them unsyncronized from each other - They're identically stuck together, and forcing each other to move in sync with one another when you grab one of them, so it may take a few turns to get half of them to a different angle

Once they're unsynced with each other, it'll get a lot easier and the game will render/process the pile slightly better, and every time you free one, too.

And the incinerate can delete them from existence all at the same time if you can't separate them, just be patient while dragging them to the window by workbench, and then go through or around the window (you can crouch jump through the windows) and take it through and around to the incinerator.

Or you could do what I do, never touch them.

(+1)

Its possible though that if you start and stop playing a lot, they may multiply without your action, and may cause the game undue strain - 3-10 of them might lag themselves, but 40 of them might cause the game to take an hour to load into, and 20 more might crash the game on load

Ot

100 of them might still only lag themselves. - who really knows, honestly, I find it just best to keep them in check after learning they duplicate. "better safe, than sorry"

I got rid of all of mine, don't need it anyway.

Dunno how many are in my game but I tried once to pick it up after reading that you could and it was stuck as soon as I grabbed it and my fps dropped to unplayable. now I dont touch lol

i downloaded the game yesterday, seemed like a cool game and i really want to play it. My issue is that there is no customers coming at all, i reloaded my game, i reinstalled it also, but there is no customers coming when i open shop, (the npcs dont walk on the road either, but right next to it, i do not know if that has any relation though). i hope you can help :)

(+1)

Just in cases

A) examine the Door, There's two click zones, open door is pretty much everywhere on the doorr

Open shop, is only on the little plaque (and on the other side of door, where the plaque would be)

B) Time of Day - Although its small - Customers don't come at around 10 or 11pm, until the next day at around 7ish am

C) is when you know you're opening shop, but still don't seem to get anyone - Check beside the door, check in areas where its hard for you to walk through without jumping, yourself.

For right now, Pathing is a bit... sketch.. for NPCs who shop, they can kinda wind up anywhere, and if that anywhere is a spot they can no longer walk towards your shop without backing up from (namely beside your door) they get stuck.

Closing your shop will cancel that NPC's script to come to your shop, allowing you to reopen and get a new one

Standing in the way of an NPC can cause them to hit you and path (slowly) around you, you can try using this to block the area beside your shop door - so they have more time to slide towards the entrance than get stuck behind the door

oh god, i´m so completely stupid, it was the problem with the door. i did not click the sign but the door instead, so shop was still closed... Thx alot mate for the help, it saved my day ! :D this was very helpful!

There have already been posts about the cart wrecking and launching off into the air:  I just wanted to add a picture in case it will help.  In this case the character also stayed in the air, but most times it happened to me I was able to get the character back onto the ground.  This is version 0.0.82

3 bugs:

1. If you have caps lock on (auto sprint) it tells the game that you are constantly holding shift. If you have caps lock on while making a tool on the anvil, and you decide to change the shape of the tool (for instance, a double-sided axe to a pickaxe) then it will do the quality 'minigame' when you hit it.

2. Flying with crates.

  • Get in crate
  • Grab crate
  • You will float
  • Look left or right to spin like crazy
  • The more you look to one side the more it looks like you are going to die
  • Spinning is VERY SENSITIVE
  • Let go to let go of your dreams of becoming an astronaut.

3. Flying with a crate onto the top of your house permanently traps you, as there is an invisible wall that you cannot get over. Walking up the side of the roof is not possible, and even if the crate goes in with you, you cannot get back into the crate to crate-fly. Ended all my progress on a world I was doing great on.

Everything to do with 2 and technically 3 is known. - it also all applies to every single physic-connected item

A note from bedroom

a cheese wedge

a dagger

a stone

crate

ingots

swords

anything can do it.

The only thing I can mention other than that, is to attempt to "crouch" jump when trying to maneuver in and out of uncomfortable places. - you can crouch an insane amount and some spaces are accessible by timing crouch right - like hopping over your fence at almost any location, or any fence, as well as through windows with no glass on them.

You could also maybe try slipcor's character model reset - I don't know everything it does, but I think it fixes character position, rotation and sets you back in bedroom (Puts you at ground level, fixes orientation, and places you in bedroom, to say that slightly differently and maybe more understandable )

it says fatal error when I try to load it u

(+1)

Try the other stickies. theres a couple that may be of assistance.

(+1)

i downloaded the itch.io app and then reinstalled the game. and now it works :D

Anyone know how to get rid of the screen flicker when you look at a object that can be picked up? I can produce a video if not sure what I mean. Also I run a mix of low/Medium settings to get a good frame rate.

dunno if hardware is an issue but I am running

32 gb Ram

windows 10

Customers won't accept my products. And I know I didn't craft them wrong, because a copper great hammer only takes a two handed grip and a 3-ingot hammer head.

at least for Alpha0.0.82

Do not fully assemble items until Point of Sale

here's a list of things that can cause customers not to accept fully assembled items.

  • Two different tiers of the same type of item - e.g Tin Greatsword and Iron Greatsword - If a customer asks for Iron Greatsword - First and foremost, they look at the "Greatsword" they see first, and try to take it.
    • If that greatsword is Not Iron, Their programming tells them not to take it.
    • However, another code tells them to take any Greatsword (afaik. This is one of the Things Dasius attempts to "fix" was customers not taking "any" greatsword when they walked up)
      • Further on "any greatsword" in version 0.0.81 Customers would ask for "A greatsword" and if you had 8 iron Greatswords, they'd refuse to take all but 1 of them - and you had to figure out which one was THE ONE they were actually looking at.
      • Dasius mentioned in the changelog "this" was fixed - I assume he means specifically that. - that whole "only "the one" out of all" is no more - but now, there's an additional catch - and now a customer will ask for a specific metal tier as well
      • Since there's code telling them "Take any Greatsword"
      • and then conflicting code telling them "Don't take anything but iron"
    • They get stuck in a logic loop, Refusing any and all other items, even the correct item, even if its moved closer to them. -
      • That is until, the offending object is removed from their sight/reach.

  • If you have fully assembled items ("You created an iron greatsword!" "you created a Copper Greathammer!")
    • And then save, quit, and reload.
      • The item will now be "broken" and require dismantling and reassembling in order to be sold.
      • I'm not entirely sure what brought this on, but it may have a mix bag of things related to previous errors in state of the weapon parts that plagued 0.0.81 - that "fixed" that problem, but together, spawned a new problem.

  • I have heard that some users/versions of the game/computers/whatever - have had it where even in the same session, without save quit reload
    • After 5-25mins (likely no specific time range) an assembled item becomes "broken' and unless they broke it down and reassembled it, it wasn't going anywhere.
      • I've never personally experienced this myself
      • but.

All of these can currently be worked around with the same solution.

Do not fully assemble your items, and you'll be fine.

Instead, Premake large blades and large hammer heads - etc. and Keep 3 ingots of whatever metal you're working on, on the forge, at all times.

Every time you get an extra three, make a new head - keeping in mind that the more ingots it requires, the less you'll have to hammer later.

Keep the premade Tool-heads, near the counter, and keep handles within reach of the workbench, then when a customer comes in asking for something, take the appropriate tool head, and set it on the workbench (if you have the appropriate head, if not, you'll have to make it, regardless)

Then grab the nearby handle and set the item ontop of the cloth on the counter for sale. - handle towards the gap/customer

This way you'll stay ahead of the request timer by having /something/ premade - and you won't have to deal with any of those three pace-halting bugs.

Keep in mind while doing this. to not accidentally carry a tool head over the forge while its on.

If the tool head (recently cooled) gets even a millisecond of heat from the forge, it'll require cooling before it can be attached later.

The shorter it was over the fire, the worse. as it seems to take a minimum level of heat before the game will automatically cool it off. resulting in a tool head "cooled off" that is forever like 0.01% heated (which can't be combined)

to stay further on the ball - I do however, recommend constantly keeping the forge running, especially when a customer is halfway up the road on their way to your shop - this way the ingots are already heated to be hammed.

Three things:

1.When you said, 'conflicting items' in relation to not accepting an item, would a conflicting item be a tool or weapon of the same type but different material, or any other type of tool, regardless of material?

2.Does 'line of sight' mean that if they can't see it, it won't be put into consideration when being given a tool? Would this mean that I could put them in the bedroom and they would not conflict? I'm not sure whether or not 'line of sight' is a thing, because I put all of the tools on the shelves inside of the front table, where the tools cannot be seen from the front, but the customer would not accept the item.

3.How do you deconstruct items?

A conflicting item would be Iron Greatsword and Copper Greatsword

Not Iron Pick and Iron 2h axe

_____

Line of Sight doesn't necessarily mean sight, nor do they really need sight... its like.. a box. there's a box of like "consideration" and a box of like "reach"

Like. you can set fully assembled items in the shelves on the front counter, like, behind the counter kinda way, the customer "can't see them" but they can grab them if nothing else goes wrong.

But they can't grab them if they're on the Greatsword display wall/shelving - but they can "see" them from there -because in 0.0.81 I had experience with having to fumble through items over there to find "the one"

But but. in 0.0.82 I've had moments where there was say - an iron 1h sword, and a tin 1h sword - both under the front counter, where they've sold from before - just without the  - - - anyway. when I would pull the item back and toss it to the door in the back, across from workbench - they'd immediately notice the correct item. (provided nothing else went wrong, that it was the closer item)

______

You dismantle things by taking them back to the anvil and then striking them with a hammer.

You don't have to accurately get them on the anvil - Just get about to the steps, and you can toss it at the anvil - with the cursor over the anvil.

If it was tossed like that, or if any part is actively touching the anvil, the smack will cause the parts to separate

*pardon this entire response if it sound like utter gibberish - there's reasons if it does, but even those would likely make no sense.

Thanks for the info! I am not very far into the game, so I only have copper. I think that it is the loading glitch, as it appears that you do not know of any others. So, when I reload, I just have to disassemble them and reassemble them and give them to the customer? Sounds great! I will most likely just disassemble and reassemble them when I reload. Also, for when I do get to the next metal, I assume, from your recount of the problem, that the back of the main room is out of the customer's 'sight box'. I assume that customers will ask for weapons at metal levels of the hammer metal and below, or else this issue would not exist. Do you happen to know what places I could put items without them being in their sight boxes and are easy to access? (Sorry for the subject jump between sentences) Also, could you maybe tell me what the problem is exactly in the code with the different metal tools of the same type in the sightbox? Just so I could maybe help you.

BTW I am typing this all on my tablet. (This post, the one before, and the one before that)

(R.I.P. My sanity)

Here. Lemme show you the picture I had up in response to Slip, and that I showed M..mr..MrManvi..? something...

Anyway. This is how I set up my "tool heads" unless I know i can sell through the assembled items and intend to go mining.

If you just do something /like/ this. not necessarily this.

then you don't have to worry about any of the other issues associated with customers not paying attention.

They won't break randomly, cause they're not assembled.

They won't break on reload (every. reload.), cause they're not assembled

They won't slow you down all that much, because they're already heated, hammered, cooled, and placed near the workbench/assembly table.

And. As you could see in that specific pic/moment. having iron, tin, copper, and steel large blades (which would be greatswords, assembled)

They won't (can't) lock onto them and prevent a sale either - because they're not items

Now like I said. You don't have to set it up exactly like this - do it however you like. You don't /need/ to keep all material stocked - you could just go with /only/ the best or maybe best and 2nd best. In this specific picture I just happened to be doing all of then.

I'd in fact  recommend only doing top 3 at most - and only fulfilling orders for the current metal if you don't already have the metal for it.

i.e - if you have Steel (current)

and have Steel on hand (3 ingots), iron (28 ingots) and Tin (1 ingot)

I would Leave the steel on the forge- so that I had enough steel ingots to complete any one steel request (and then likely buy more to replace them)

Make /all/ of the iron into tool heads - If they don't ask for one of the ones I made, then I send them away

Make the tin either into a tool head, or just stack it on a shelf for fun because it isn't worth the hassle at one ingot. - if I do that, I send all other tin away.

Have no Copper, isn't worth ordering more in. Send them away.

And as the picture mentions. I keep 2h spare handles on part of the shelf nearby (dunno why I just find it easier to keep them there for some reason, you could place them anywhere else) - I keep 1-4 one hand grips with guards attached already on the backboard of the workbench - I keep 1-3 (2h) grips with guards attached - backboard in another slot - and 1-2 no grip handles, either size, but only one of whichever size. - sometimes I make it 1h guards.

Under the bench on the lowest shelf I tend to keep 1h grips, on the floor, pole grips (just order a few, set the box flat on the ground, open, then use one to line them all up and push them all under with that one (slowly)), and on the shelf with the lantern - I set 2h guards - Everything is in a quick to reach, fairly 'separated' area - that I can get into a pattern of muscle-memory/remembrance of where it is, and quickly assemble it, without sending 8 different things flying trying to get a one-hand blade out of a pile of 12 different tool heads.

++++++++++++++++++++

If you /were/ to want too keep assembled items.

I'd recommend one or two types (e.g Greatsword and Greathammer) - of only the best material (e.g steel and mithril) and not making more than you think you can sell in a single session.

Keep them under the counter, stacked ontop of one another (like how you see the large-blades in the pic, only, reversed, you want the handle near the walkway/customer, not the bedroom) - However. Only use the first and second shelf - they can't reach the third, even if they can see it. - you can instead stack them above the counter. - again. You want the grip - which is the "thicker" part of the handle, to be right under that cloth you see on the front counter- and customers can "reach" for it.

For Pole arms - this often means Blade towards customer, because the thick-grip part is so high on the grip.

For almost everything else - the blade/tool head should be towards your bed, and the handle to the customer.

I recommend this method for /sale while mining/ but do not recommend it in general for ver0.0.82

__________________________________________

If you want a different idea, and do not plan to be mining.

Perhaps placing them outside the front door will suffice for "out of box"

There is a different, unrelated to sale bug, bug that plagues 0.0.82 - It's Mad Strafe Disease

Customer pathing is faster but much sloppier than normal NPC pathing. Normal Npcs can be smacked around with physics, Customers will walk right through most physics, but not Terrain, and they will NEVER EVER walk backwards while walking towards your shop to purchase.

As a result, one of the most common accidents is them getting stuck and never ever being able to reach the shop.. and one of the most common places for that... is at the shop. Behind the door. - They strafe, again, for whatever reason, once they've gotten to shop, and lock themselves in the small gap between the backside of the door, and small stool/table outside....

YOU. can stand in that area and walk against them, causing them to slide off you and inwards towards shop if you do it right (note: if you just stand there or do it wrong, they actually can strafe beside you and get even further off course, I've had it happen.)

So. Anyway. Placing the items outside might be an option. Since you might stand out there anyway to ensure MSD doesn't take the life of another sale, you may (or very well may not) be able to see what they want, and then carry it inside, they can have items handed to them, through them. And they /can/ reach a little bit beside them.

I pretty much have never tried this and don't really recommend it for anything. - in general for ver0.0.82 I recommend just going with tool heads.

As for... what the code is. I have no clue. I imagine the code is in the engine and I'm just a user who sees this and speculates things. Dasius is the one that does things.

I just assume based off the misc clues pointing.

That there was a line of code introduced from Version 0.0.81 to Ver 0.0.82 - That was intended to "destroy" customers refusing all but "the one" Type they came in for.

and that this code basically told them to accept all that match type requested.

But then another code tells them to "Only accept matching  material and type as requested" - and that this part, is newer than the bugfix - that it was added along side them "requesting material"

and that these two codes are conflicting (because one says to only accept Copper Greatsword while the other tells them to accept every greatsword) - causing a customer to become logic-stuck as it goes

"accept all that match type requested" - OH HEY, a greatsword that's right here in front of me (closest to them) I'll just grab that

"Deny - Doesn't match Material requested" - Oh, It's not iron, Nevermind

"Accept all that match type requested" - OH HEY, a greatsword (cloest) right here in front of me

Not Iron

Greatsword

Not Iron

and it does this likely hundreds of times in a second.

To me. this is what it looks like goes on, especially since before.

they'd walk in go "I need a Greatsword" and then deny Greatsword after greatsword until the ONE greatsword they were actually asking for was given to them - even if they were all (insert material)

and now, one of the changelog "fixes" for 0.0.82

"Fixed: Customer will not refuse any weapon no matter how many there are of the same /Type/ "

This specific Line gives me all the confidence in my speculation being what is happening.

Only I'm horrible at explaining things, and this is probably overly simplified or crudely so.

like saying "does this likely hundreds of times in a second"

The code probably does that hundreds of times in a second.

The customer themselves probably only work through a small fraction of that per second.  - And normally that'd be fine.

Example

  • Check Timestamp 1:11:1
  • check failed 1:11:1
  • check 1:11:2
  • check failed 1:11:2
  • Check 1:11:3
  • check failed 1:11:3
  • check 1:11:3
  • check failed 1:11:4
  • Check 1:11:5
    • Item Detected matching Type 1:11:5 - clearing queue, accept?
      • Item Detected Matching Material and Type 1:11:6 - Accepting
        • Run Animation for Accepting item 1:11:7
          • Accepting item matching material and type, marked at 1:11:6 (1:11:8)
            • Run price calculation/pay blacksmith
  • check failed 1:11:5
  • check 1:11:6
  • check failed 1:11:6
  • Check 1:11:7

Really - this would probably look more like "check scheduled 1:11:6" and scheduled every "however long it takes to scan detection area"

But then you get that logic loop

  • Check 1:12:1
    • Item Detected matching type 1:12:1 clearing queue, Accept?
      • Deny
      • (potential) Reject denial "accept any no matter how many there are of same type (Potentially just endlessly loops here.)
  • Check !:12:1
    • Item detected 1:12:1
      • Deny
  • Check 1:12:1
    • Check failed - Item previously detected no longer exists, removing redundant obsolete instances of item detected at 1:12:1
  • Check 1:12:2
    • Item Detected Matching type 1:12:2 Clearing queue, accept?
      • Item detected matching Material and Type 1:12:3- Accepting
        • Run Animation for accepting item 1:12:4
          • Accepting Item match, marked at 1:12:3 (1:12:5)
            • calculating payment
  • Check 1:12:1
    • Item detected 1:12:1
      • Deny
  • Check !:12:1
    • Item detected 1:12:1
      • Deny
(This probably goes on for dozens to hundreds of additional lines. - all for 1:12:1)

It runs through it much faster because it can quickly and easily see the "wrong item" as opposed to scanning the entire view area only to come up empty handed - and do it again.

I dunno. That could still be horribly simplified or technically incorrect because of my lack of expertise/knowledge in the area But it's how I imagine it's happening.

If its way 2 - it's able to run code faster than the game/npc can process it. - causing them to constantly restart the process, but still stay locked onto the item because it's processing code that was ran seconds ago, and will still be processing that code for seconds more.

if not, Then it has to be way 1, and it's becoming fixated and locked onto the item purely because the code is telling it "No, you can't "not" accept the item, you have to accept it' and the other code is refusing to budge. - never relinquishing the search for a new item (essentiallly... recreating the "does not accept" bug from prior.)

(I'm just saying this so Dasius might see, but you could respond to it if you want)

Would it be possible to assign a value, zero,  to each item and then when the code sees the first item, it checks to see if its value is one. If it is one, it skips the item check for that item. If it is zero, it does the check. If it is not a match, it sets that item's value to one. If it is a match, it  sets the item's value to 2. Then it goes along with all the other checks and then loops. For every check, after checking if the value is one, if is not, it checks for 2. If it is 2, then the customer buys the item. This value system might eliminate the loop of checking one item over and over again, because if it is not the item the customer wants, it will skip the check... hopefully. I am not very good with coding, so I am guessing what will work.

Developer

Hey Kurzidan,

In essence, you are right, if I understood you correctly.

The code, initially checks for any matching weapon type. Then when it found a matching weapon type, it proceeds to check if it has the right material type and then if it has already been sold. Once all of the requests are true, it will save the weapon in a variable which then is used throughout the other parts of the code. However, that block of "code" is pretty much all in the same line of "code". In UE4's Blueprint(which is what i'm using at the moment), i'd say "follows the same trail" if you get my meaning. So, although every second or so, its first checks to see if the weapon type exists, once the query result is true, it will then check the next query.  If non is true, the Customer won't recognize the weapon as a valid weapon for him/her to purchase, because the weapon variable is not set.

Thanks for taking the time to input about it. I wouldn't have minded had you not though, I'm just a end-user, I don't particularly need to know the specifics.

Personally. I feel like I should refrain from trying to respond in full to the additional information.. like I said - I'm Just an end-user.. Knowing the specifics won't provide me with any method to actually help - nor further my own pursuits.  - though, I /think/ I do understand what you're saying/adding.

At the same time. I'm making a reply (this one, right here....) because while I think I should refrain, I still want to thank for the input. Otherwise I'd either be making another massive list trying to respond in full (potentially still being very wrong in interpretation) or not making a reply at all

Developer(+1)

Hey Kurzidan,

No need to feel that way. I'm gratefull that you bring up issues and your interpretation of what is going on. I enjoy seeying everyone discussing issues with the game along with how much they enjoy it, as it helps me and maybe someone else. Maybe it might help someone else understand something that is unrelated to the game. Your thoughts and opinion matter and let knowone say otherwise.  So please don't feel the need to stop.

Hey Corvaer,

This is the result of using the horse wagon. Slipcor has a player model reset here. Not sure if it will fix this issue but give it a try. I did manage to get it fixed for the next update but will require a new game as usual.

(1 edit)

So the horse wagon has some side effects, right? :D

Mine is glitching out a lot (I have posted a report about this).

Developer

Haha, ya. This generally happens when the horse gets too far away from the wagon. I'm looking into a how to stop the horse from moving if the wagon is stuck.

In my horse cart, it will bug out and fly. when i get out, i can no longer jump. restarting didnt do it, and i dont know what else to try. i cant play anymore until this is fixed

Developer

Hey brandomatron7,

Slipcor has a quick fix for your character that might also help with the jumping issue.

Hello, I've encountered an issue with the front door that seems to only occur after saving and closing out the game.

To make it as clear as possible, I included a short video demonstrating the problem as well as a brief detailed description on how it happens.

Video:

As mentioned earlier, it only seems to occur for me after I continue a saved game. and because of it, I'm forced to start a new game which fixes the problem but happens again the same way. (Play the game, save it, close it out, start playing again, load up saved game, problem persists.)

I find it to be a major problem because my customers can't get through the door because its in the closed position when the shop sign is "Open" and in order to open the door, I would have to set the sign to "Closed" which causes the customer to walk away.

I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the save file being from a old version since it also occurs with new saves aswell.

I hope this problem is resolved, or if anyone has a temporary solution for it, please let me know.

Developer

Hey Rod Gaming,

Thanx for the video, I am currently investigating the issue and will try to find a solution. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Developer

When you reload back into the game, is the door open or closed?

It is closed and when I try to open it, it opens towards the inside when its normally suppose to open towards the outside.

Developer

Hey Rod,

Sorry for the delayed response, what does the sign say when you enter the game before it messes up?

(3 edits) (+1)

it says closed. When i turn it to open, the door stays in the same position.

I do have a suggestion or two which can serve as a solution.

Have the shop sign become independent. For example, set the sign on the wall next to the door instead of on the door and have the door itself open and close freely regardless if the shops open or not.

Second suggestion would be to give the NPC's the ability to either open the door, or clip through it. This can also help prevent them from getting stuck on obstacles since that tends to happen often aswell.

Developer

hey Hot Rod Gaming,

Thanx for the suggestions. I want to avoid customers passing thru doors.

I have the same bug, is there a solution?

Developer

Hey Elessar,

I, unfortunately, am having troubles reproducing this bug on my end. Are you able to reproduce the effect with a new game?

I will try, but at the beginning yesterday there was no bug . But when i started the game today it occured. Is there any way to save the old game?

Oh, when i started the game now the bug was gone. I just restarted my Computer and now its gone.

Developer

Interesting and very strange, thanx for the update Elessar

ok, thats strange i restarted the game 5 minutes ago and now the bug is back, and this time  a computer restart also dont helped.

when i buy stuff at the actual shop, like the wooden stuff, after i leave the items get frozen in the box after i open it, and the price on the crate is wrong

Developer

Hey brandmatron7,

At the moment there is no fix for it on this version but in the next release, Geoffreys shop work significantly different and no longer need you to use the crate to make purchases..

Sorry about that.

There's actually a fix for it, two, now.

Masonator discovered you could incinerator the crate with minimal loss to items inside if you're careful, Once the crate is incinerator, it deletes the related lock, freeing the items, seemingly. (Masonator discovered, I did not test)

The Alternative I did test, and I discovered through methods of which utilized other bugs and fixes. It's definitely safer, but its far more complicated to actually perform.

Using the Fix for "Unlocking Menu-Grab-lock items" (Hold item, hit esc, and attempt to hold it again, Forces the item to be locked into position (it was the "ingot stuck on smelter" bug, it works on any items)

The Fix is to use another Crate to force-relock and then unlock with that crate's parameters - The same can be applied to a shopping basket, It's just... harder.

If you can manage to get the lower half/corner of the basket into one of the Blacksmith's-Crates - and then quickly close it before the crate or basket is pushed away, You can do one of two things.

  • 1) you can free SOME of the items, whatever happened to be at that corner - If there's only a few small grips, this will likely be ALL of the items.
  • and 2) It will "free" the Basket from the location of the lock. - It will NOT fully reset the ENTIRE lock, However, Doing THIS part will make unlocking any other items far easier.
  • Once the BASKET is free, You can then ROTATE the basket away from the items, first ensure that all freed items that you can manage to shake out are shook out, otherwise when you quickly rotate the basket, You'll send freed items flying, Matters less if you're already in the blacksmith house.
  • Once the basket is rotated away, it will likely become FREE entirely, and there will no longer be a physical container blocking you from netting the other items with another crate HOWEVER...... The Locked basket physics will be ATTACHED to the Player-Crate used to break the basket out. - You'll need two player crates to fully unlock everything.
  • Once you've netted most of the Contents with another crate, you can just close it and open it, freeing them and causing them to fall/move away - continue until you can close and open the crate basically on top of the other one.

as I said. It's less risky, but it takes more steps/more complicated.

Alternatively. Going to sleep, Saving, and then reloading, causes shopping baskets to despawn - freeing the items

BUT

Doing that may result in Additional charges.

In fact. Doing anything may still result in additional charges - I mean. Carrying them one at a time and tossing them out the door into the "yard" won't (whatever you do after that, crate, no crate, drag with one polearm grip scraping them along like a plow, etc)

I didn't exactly have.. a lot of attention to small pocket change ... when I was doing my testing. - Just know it worked.

I also found out you can left click, then while holding left click, hit right click, and then you can take the items, like from a horse cart this works

I don't think I follow. Care to elaborate? I attempted what I assumed you meant based on the topic and contents of your statement - but it just amounted to nothing both ways (accidentally kept reading it right and then doing it with opposite clicks. - but didn't change when corrected)

perhaps its 32bit related or you're not quite talking about exactly the same thing anymore....or maybe I'm just not noticing some kinda clue of execution and doing what you're saying, wrong.

dasius you should make wooden tool handles in the scroll

so I don't need geoffery

I left a comment about the frozen part - but - I failed to notice you also mentioned the price part

Price is only off when an item comes back out. If it happens, it means the crate lost sight of an item that was in it, unfortunately, causing pretty much the entire deal to go south (I.e Geoffrey calls you a crook, tells the guards to come vandalize your hard earned grips, and mark them all as "(stolen)" - Stolen is in such infancy though, that customers pay it no mind... Which might be a bug all of its own....come to think of it....

Course, Maybe Geoffrey can't tell crook from fake, and just calls it all stolen, but the game engine can actually realize you didn't actually steal it, and allows you to sell "fake(stolen)" - but if you were to actually /steal/ items (somehow) then you'd not be able to sell them, and they'd be "real(stolen)"

anyway. You can avoid it entirely by using your own order scroll

avoid it entirely by carrying them out of his shop one at a time (or going to the doorway and tossing them out with physics)

or by VERRRRYYYY carefully setting them inside his basket, close it but then open it (If you don't close it before you leave the shop, you won't be able to after you've left) and then crouch and pick it up with your knees rather than your back, minimizing the item physic explosion... Carefully carry them out, don't flail around/whip around instantly, doing so the items inside can't keep up with the basket, despite them staying inside and being pulled around by the basket - They'll "exit" the basket and fudge the price - Just take it nice and slow, carefully and walk out, once the coin chest goes away and you're firmly on the grass, you can then close the basket (now a crate)

Its a basic crate with a lid at this point, not a player crate - it will not lock physics, but it' ll keep the items from exploding across the map.

Or.

You can look at the other post I made for ways to "fix" it

I also have encountered a bug. I'm playing on version 0.0.82, and... the horse is broken. It keeps losing my stuff and the wagon is glitching out a lot. So, to have a wagon, I have to create a new game every time it glitches. It is really frustrating and I lose all of my progress every time. Glitching the wagon is really easy: ride the horse on rough terrain(which is prety much everywhere, so, basically, ride the horse). I do not have any pictures of it, unfortunately. Here are my specs, if you need them:

CPU: Intel Core I7 Octacore

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 biti

RAM: 8 GB DDR4

HDD: 1 TB

Please fix it as soon as possible.

-Horia0502-

Developer

Hey Horia0502,

Sorry about the glitches, the issue does arise with issues in physics interactions. If by any chance you have lower fps, the issue might be worse. I'm also currently trying to optimize the game so users can get better Fps and will solve some of the issues with the wagon. Also, the wagon tearing apart is a result of the horse getting too far away from the wagon. I'm looking into ways to mitigate this issue.

Thank you!

(1 edit)

Gould you tell me an aproximate date of those fixes being implemented? If no, it's tottaly fine. By the way, I have no idea of the fps while playing, so I can't help you on that.

Developer

At the moment I don't have a release date.

No worries on the fps.

(1 edit)

It's alright then.

(+1)

You also will not have to restart every time it glitches - either a) give up on the cart or more simply B) head over to slipcor's site and get his save-game fixer - the final one will allow you to fix the horse and wagon, and that one should also allow you to fix the player model (which will also be guaranteed broken if you rode on the horse)

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

when i run it it crashes and says LOWLEVELFATALERROR pls help me!

Could you post the whole error message?

Its an error created by hardware you use, GPU or CPU.

I have done some research and i found out my laptop is slow but it should work fine right?

Developer

Hey Tejazer,

I apologise but at the moment the games needs heavy optimisation. You'll also have to make sure your system specs are close to the suggested requirements. Otherwise, I cant guarantee it will work.

(+1)

I would love to see this game in full release! Keep on thinking Dasius!

Developer

Thanx HappyDeadman12367

Hi,

I discovered a bug.

When I press P for leveling the charakter just look at his feed and not on the page(level 6).

(+1)

Oh, the player model reset helped

Developer

Glad it helped!

every time i open my game it's freeze then close by it self

(1 edit)

Version #39104

Played this awhile back and I had a freezing issue with a sign, when I opened the game back up the graphics were fuzzy and the game crashes shortly thereafter. I've come back a couple months later and the issue is still there, but now I get an error message *See Below*

If I remember correctly, what originally caused the issue was me editing a sign, then backing away while still in edit mode. This took away all my controls so I force closed the game. Now it spawns me by the bed like a new file but this happens. I feel like it may be a graphical issue, but since you can only spawn into the game at the main menu, I can't fix it without jumping into the corrupted world. It'd be nice if you could add the options menu to the main menu :3

Here's my system's specs:

Hope this helps. I love your game but I flat out can't play it right now x.x

Developer

Hey B3Wall,

Thanx for the bug report.

The issue seems to be out of my ability to fix as it is an engine issue. Epic is aware of the bug and as of version 4.17 (MLBSS 0.0.82 is on version 4.15)  is marked as fixed until further notice.

They've also mentioned that on lower GPU's the issue is more prevalent and could still happen if updated..

What GPU are you using btw?

From what I remember the GPU was an "integrated graphics". It's usually terrible, so I guess that Unity has finally just left my computer in the dust. Time for an upgrade it seems.

To be fair, this is a relatively cheap 3 year old laptop that wasn't designed for gaming at all, I can just usually get games with lower end graphics to run on low settings without issue. By default, My Little Blacksmith Shop is set to the highest settings, and I crash before being able to turn them down :/

Oh well, the university has higher end computers for better games, just going to have to make a trip of it to play this game.

Thanks for the help!

Developer

Ya unfortunately, UE4 can be quite demanding.

ok, I'm on the latest version 0.0.82, windows 10, have a nvidia 930m 4gb, i7 2.5 dual core 4 threads, 8 gb ran, and the most annoying bug is the auto walk, suddenly, I cant jump and starts to walk at randon directions (I can control anyway, but is difficult) and got stuck outside of the shop, couse the step by the door, and around workshop make a little barrier, and do not seems to have a trigger action, and restarts doesn't fix. but keep up the great work, this game is very enjoyable

Developer

Hey Beliant,

I did manage to fix those issues for the next update.

Generally, any issues with walking and jumping are a result of using the horse wagon. So, I would recommend using Slipcor's character resets,

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

And just avoid using the wagon until the next update. Sorry for the inconvenience. Glad you are enjoying the game anyways..

:)

(+1)

thanx, and keep up the good work, if on alpha its just that fun, when done will be fantastic

Developer

Thank you!!

:)

I just installed the game and I am having trouble turning/grabbing things. When I try to walk out back where the forge is I have to be really careful or instead of aiming at the door the character swivels and walks into the wall/coin box. When I try to pick things up I basically have to try to grab it while the camera is swinging and hope I pick it up and I usually end up dropping things. I tried turning the mouse sensitivity all the way down but the game is still having an extreme response to the smallest movements.  I am not experiencing this issue in any other game I play so I don't think it's a mouse issue.  I like the game but this issue is making unplayable.

Intel Xeon x3450 @ 2.67GHz , 14 GB RAM Running Windows 64

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Logitech M217 Wireless mouse, standard drivers.

Developer

Hey CaptainSpaz,

Do you experience low frame rates? Is gaming choppy?

Although your video card is fine but I'm worried about your CPU.

Also, the game is still being optimised so it's possible that might be the result.

The Horse Gliches out randomly

Link to video:

When the Ai asks for a copper pickaxe it for some reason won't
register when I place it on the counter. It just stands there looking dumb. It's not too game breaking since the pickaxe isn't often requested. But it'd be great for this issue to be fixed. I really like this game.

It would come down to the problem of "Not created"

There's a few ways to "Make a pickaxe" and the BLACKSMITH can hold every one of those ways.

But Customers will only buy one specific way.

2h grip + pickaxe head - and it will inform you "You created a (metal tier) pickaxe!"

The other ways won't say that, but you can still equip them personally.

______________________________________________________________

Alternative Reasons it may not be functional.

-Assembled Pickaxe correctly, but didn't sell it before saving and reloading

-Rare- Assembled and didn't save/reload but 5-30+ mins later no item that was crafted could sell anymore.

(Fix for both)

Take to anvil and smack them with hammer - disassembles allowing you to reassemble (or partially rework after reheating)

(Prevention for both)

Don't Fully Assemble the parts until a customer wants it.

If you never complete the item - saving and reloading will never break the item, meaning you'll never have to disassemble and reassemble it, equally so for rare/random break.

________

"You created (Metal tier) (item)" is true for all customer purchase items.

For example

Combining a Polegrip + 2h guard + Large Blade (Greatsword blade) = Polearm - It will inform you that you created a Polearm, and customers will buy it.

Combining a Polegrip + small hammerhead will also make a polearm (variant 2) - it will inform you.

However.

Combing a Polegrip + 2h guard + hammerhead (any) will either not combine at all, or won't inform you "You created a polearm" and customers won't buy it as a result. (I can't recall if it doesn't combine or doesn't inform you and still lets you combine)

You /can/ combine a polegrip + 2hguard + small blade (dagger) and make a polearm (spear/variant 1)

But /can't/ combine a 1h grip, guard and small blade, and won't make a dagger when you do so. (won't inform) - customers /won't/ buy either.

I can't remember if you can combine a polegrip and either axe head, but At minimum, they won't sell. (Halberds = no go)

I believe I made a point about using 2h grip and small axe head for player axe - which, if I recall right, the Player can equip any small axe combination much like any pickaxe combination - but 2h+ small axe =/= anything and customers won't buy it.

Player can't equip large axe head if I recall right

Player /can/ equip large hammer head though, If I recall right... I might be recalling wrong, Though, Only if its not a greathammer, I think, If I recall right. - I could be wrong here, again, I did my combination testings a while back, prob more than a month now. - and I don't recall if grip+small head worrked, it might also not work because it makes something that isn't a hammer specifically.

My level up paper is.. broken

Or its my neck thats broken

When you take a look one page before you can see a playermodelreset that should help ;)

P.S. Sry for tha bad English

I found a bug I'm pretty sure everyone has it or maybe its just me.
So I was riding my horse and in 1 second the cart flew in the air and when i got out i was upside down controls were weird I had to open a new game but it happens every time I go mining please fix it its so annoying

gday dasius i found if i'm standing over an object and pick it up i have found that i can fly and if an object comes at me or is near me and i pick it up i iether get pushed back or when i pick it up up i go flying most likely because of the player model and aside from that when i'm mining i found when i hit the ore cluster one last time anything on it will fall through and i cannot pick up the object from within the cluster and i wish you a happy game doveloping

Developer

Hey oddly mechanic,

I am aware of the issue and a fix has been created for it.

Thank you!!

here's a couple of happy sky snaps anyway

id say that this bug isn't totally without praise

Hey Man this is a wonderful Game its come so far! I only have one problem with the AI not taking copper greatswords. They just stand there doing nothing and i have to cancel the request. Wonderfull game i will hopefully patron you soon Thanks!

Developer(+1)

Hey Lazy Turtle,

Thanx for the bug report. We are aware of some issues with selling weapons and I do have one of team members looking over the issues with me. Hopefully we'll have a fix for everyone soon.

Thank you!!

So i was playing the game today and i leveled up and first off the paper was way to close to the screen (my resolution in game is 1920x1080 because i play on a tv idk if this would affect it but i thought id include the info) then as i was going to close out the level up paper and it stayed on my screen and i was able to pick up stuff and move around and i could not get it to go away. I fixed the issue by going to the main menu and reloading my game but still an issue i'd like to report encase no one has reported it yet.

  1. Alpha 0.0.82
  2. I don't need any image for this
  3. I just can't use my mouse to look around, I can pick up items but can't look down, up, left, right with the mouse, I have to use the arrows and I can't use the up and down ones
  4. I think the mouse is the only one that has to be specified:  Marvo Scorpion M314
(1 edit) (+1)

edit: sry for post ... my bugs are already known.

This and how do I fix it

Cart freaked out on fence and reset itself oreintied to the horse offset
Any ideas on how to remedy this without restarting my save cause it causes several issues but it's saved as the current normal when I close and reopen the game
(+1)

In general anything relatied to horse/cart and or "Rotation" of character/horse - can be fixed, for now, with slipcor's save fixer

You can find it on the game-page from the link text "All here" near the mention for slipcor there - and one of the last two/most recent versions should work for your situation.

( also just in case - http://mlbs.slipcor.net/ )

(+1)

also be wary - as the Horse in general is still one of the buggiest parts of the game, and will likely be so for a few updates until more important aspects are hammered in and ironed out.

If you, for example, ride the cart - You may end up with player rotation being off and/or player sheet being inacessible - both can be fixed with the same save fixer program,  and in general, both (the player rotation and horse freakout/rotation/etc) are caused by the horse

When one of my customers spawned in it flew sky high... (probably height limit) and when it hit the ground it froze and stopped moving completely.

This stopped any new customers from spawning, but closing the game and restarting fixed it.

Please fix. It would be annoying if you had to restart every time this happens. Thank you.

Hey, I have been farming/selling copper until i get 1500 coins. Then i bought 3 tin ingots to be able to mine tin. I have some tin ingots ready to be forged ( i also have a sword ready) but every customers want copper items... is it a bug or did I missed something ?

Thanks for help.

(+2)

you'll need a New hammer for each tier.

Until you make and equip a hammer of that type, they won't buy.

I don't know if they'll spring for inbetween if you somehow jump a few tiers though. Like if you went from Copper to Titanium, somehow, if they'd still ask for steel, with never having equipped steel

Thank you !!! I'm gonna try it later.

I have found a Bug with the level up paper. i Press 'P' to open it and my view automatically hoes all the way up so im looking on the top of the room instead of the paper.

I cant level up. :/

(+1)

Caused mostly by Cart/riding - Fix with Slipcor's save fixer, linked in game homepage ( http://mlbs.slipcor.net/ )

3rd fixer specifically for Player issue - 4th fixer should have everything (though I could be wrong) that is seen in other 3

(1 edit)

Dude,,

Every time I actually get somewhere in this game... my door just breaks. Please. PLEASE. Can we try resolve this issue? I'm sure you might have come across it a few times?

Find a solution please... I'm losing faith T.T

(+2)

hopefully the context of this statement isn't that you restart - get somewhere in game, break - restart - get somewhere.

From what I've seen, although result times vary, generally the door fixes itself without having to start over.

Things that may be contributing to it are

  • Leaving the door open when Transitioning areas (used to be pretty obvious when you were about to cross over into the mines (outside) but regardless, that's where I'm talking about)
    • This may be Open but shop closed, or open open, I dunno. I've never personally had this problem, and I do all sorts of stuff
  • Leaving door/shop open when Sleeping
  • Leaving Door/shop open and then saving/exiting/reloading
  • Some sort of Graphical combination + slight misclicks of hitboxes and client see both being performed because on one hand, misclick, but on the other, somehow some setting combination has made the real location "off" and you didn't actually misclick, thus, opening the door, but not really because misclick, and then actually opening the door causes it to "break"
  • I dunno. Like I said. I don't ever experience this myself. All things "may" are just speculation on my part
  • Additionals may include something being near it when being opened or shut - Or Hardware/software desync/lag

Informative reply. The first time I experienced the issue I made sure that doors and shop were closed when sleeping and moving around or even exiting and therefore I THINK I can rule that one out for now. However,, sometimes I do save with the door open so I will avoid that.

Perhaps the misclick might be responsible but most of all I just think its some sort of Hardware or Software issue on my PC. There is no other logical explanation.

Honestly I don't think I will escape this plague... but either way as the game progresses I'm sure these minor issues will fix themselves.

Thanks for your timely reply and easily understood information.

Good job ! Gold Star Kurzidan XD

Hi guys, great game, I really love this game.  I found a doop glitch by accident. Not sure if you guys found it yet.

Hey Zyroth,

We did find it and it will not be there in the next update.

Thank you!!

Thank you Zyroth775. Glad you enjoyed the game despite the bugs.

Send me an email NobleGamesStudio@outlook.com if you want to get in touch with me about working on the game.

Cheers!

When I launch the game It apears in a window, my screen is 1920x1080p. It opens the menu, it's in really bad quality and is still windowed. I click normal and go into the game. As it's loading it switches over to fullscreen at 1920x1080p. Graphics are Epic and looking good. Now the problem is the game still thinks i'm in windowed. I can't click on the outer edges of the screen. The game doesn't keep my mouse in the center either while looking. So If I try and click the ground it will click off screen. I tried messing with the resolution and switching back and forth between windowed but nothing works.

And everytime I changed the qaulity while in windowed it would shrink the screen more and off sync where my mouse was to where it was showing me where I was. Everytime I changed res it make a larger black border on the bottom and right side. It also put the window in the top left of the screen.

I don't know the cause of this but when the game first launched I downloaded the game and the same thing happened which made the game unplayable. It is still unplayable.

To summarize (wierd res switching while in windowed makes a black border that gets bigger every time you switch) and (mouse tracking and clicking off screen while in full).

Also might note that while in windowed it didn't keep my mouse center with the reticle it made it go along the edge of the border. BUT it didn't go off screen onto my desktop.

If you need more information or specs please ask.

Developer

Hey pigbull320,

I'll have to do some digging to see what would be the cause. I'll get back to you asap with an answer.

To clarify what I said before I launched this game months ago around when it first launched and had the same problem. If you need information screenshots of files or really anything I'll try and help.

Hey,  I just wanted to say that this game has A great future, but, for some reason, my player can't look directly at the paper, either it'll just look straight up or straight down. thanks!

Developer

Hey derpyfighthing,

Thank you for your bug report. The fix will be in the next update. I unfortunately, do not have a time frame yet of when that will be but for the moment, you can use Slipcors fix. http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

Cheers!

Hello MLBS team,

First off I would just like to say I really do like your game. Saw a playthrough of it on YouTube and immediately donated knowing I would like it. Very relaxing and good for dealing with stress.

Anyway, I thought I would add to the voices that say they're having problems with opening their shop. This happens to me when I load back into the game, the door will not open automatically when you click on the sign to open. The sign says it is open, and customers will spawn, but the door does not open and cannot be opened while the sign is active causing the customers to be trapped outside and they never order. It is possible to quickly sync opening the door and clicking on the sign to open the shop, which does bring customers. However after you sell them their weapon/tool they close the door behind them meaning you have to re-sync the door opening all over again each time you're done with a customer. Also, the door opens inward instead of outward for whatever reason when this bug occurs. This glitch is rather noticeable, I can reproduce it with a 100% success rate unfortunately. I've yet to discover any sort of fix for it, despite much trying.

I could be wrong, but I think it may have something to do with the shop resetting each time the save is reloaded? Because not only does the shop not open but before you click on the sign the little tutorial underneath it reappears, which I believe you're only supposed to see once. As well as the weapon schematics sheet respawning (even though this is a known bug and it seems to have been addressed). Near as I can tell it only applies to those two things though, everything else stays where it was and the starting guards & grips don't respawn.

I'm not sure if this is also any sort of proof to the resetting, but whenever I boot up the game again I'm presented with the difficulty screen. Now I don't know if this is a bug, the difficulty is meant to be changed at will in the future, or if a "Continue" button just hasn't been implemented yet.

I hope this is helpful to you and I look forward to a response.

Hey ConquerorDude21,

Really appreciate the support. I'm glad this game helps you relax.

Also, really appreciate the report. We are aware of the issue and have fixed the door issue for the next update.

Cheers and thank you for playing!!

Thank you for the quick response!

I can't wait for the update that irons out this bug so I can finally progress without any roadblocks.

After day ~65 my character starts "sliding" after every jump. He becomes hard to control, like if there would be glass everywhere around. And you have to jump on that place... sorry, I don't know it's name. The place with an anvil. In this version the character kinda stucks on the little step and can't overcome it without jump.

Developer

Hey DaddyDiscord,

Try this fix and let me know if that helps. Good job on making it to day 65.

:)

Thank you for quick response. Where should I save fix-files? Should I extract all folders just in folder with .exe file? Or should I extract all files from them too?  Sorry, I couldn't find the proper instruction anywhere.

Developer

No problem.

No extraction is needed just download the file anywhere and double click on the file to run it. Then choose an option and it should just do its thing.

It's downloading as WinRAR archive with 3 folders and a bunch of files, which my computer refuses to run. I'm not sure if is it the right thing. Is it? Or should I change filename extension or something?

(+1)

ensure your java is path'd up correctly, and/or update/reinstall it.

It's a .jar - which win-rar can usually read and extract classes and such from it, but it should be runnable like a normal application, it has its own little java applet window for executing its functions with. - if its not running at double click, it likely means either that which I said above, or something else is forcibly taking .jar hooks, but I believe update/reinstall will still address that as well

When I use P to open the character sheet, the camera looks waay too far down. I can't get the camera to move back up, even with restarting the game. It makes selecting any of the options on the sheet impossible.

Hey Thomas288,

Try this fix as well and let me know if this helped you with your problem. In the next update, this will not happen again.

Thank you for playing.

after i reset the game,  npc's that comming to my shop don't want to take weapont i made before reset. i had like 2 weapons of each type aldeady made and just waiting for custrommer but i still have to make a new one and i can just throw these weapons to thrashcan.

Its known - Restarting session breaks completed items (they'll need to be reassembled) - And You'll need to ensure that only the matching item is offered - If you have a steel greatsword and an iron greatsword both in the customer area, and they want iron, but see the Steel first -they will get stuck - trying to buy the steel but being denied because its not iron. - Its best to just have the parts made/bought - but not assembled, and then assemble them when a customer asks.

Just put new handals on them

when I start playing evrything glow and I can't se anything because of it

every single time i jump  dont really land. i just glide overs stuff like im on ice

(+1)

It's a character position issue, Check out Slipcor's little save fixer over at http://mlbs.slipcor.net/ get one of the last two and reset character position. - This should fix it for you.

It occurs (for now) when you start and stop being on ground in odd ways - Swimming sorta, toggles that effect off and on as it tells the game "You've gotten in water" and "you've gotten out of water" so to say - but anywhere else - and there's nothing to do that......

....

I.e - The Cart. Don't ride the cart, really, If you get thrown off it or even if you just ride it uneventfully, you can break a lot of things. - Most commonly it seems more connected (or more noticeable) with going over uneven surfaces that may cause the cart to freak out even slightly

Some surfaces of course REALLY freak it out, and send it off to the cosmos.

Your level sheet probably also is off-set because of your character issue, the Save-game fixer should fix that too.

DISCLAIMER: I know that the game has been cancelled at the time of writing this and I do not want this post to be taken as a demand for you to work on the game again, it's your decision and I will support that, this is just a list of bugs I've found

Version: Alpha 0.0.82 / Windows (x64) (The list is in no particular order)

  1. Sometimes when you have the horse follow you the lamp on the cart will stay in place and not follow the cart (Fixable when you sit in the cart)
  2. Sometimes the cart will glitch so the wheels always face different direction (Has no effect on speed or functionality of the cart)
  3. Unable to transport stones from mine to shop, when in the boxes the stones seem to despawn (I understand if this is intentional as stones have no use in game)
  4. Uncommon logs seem to turn to common logs when saving the game and then reloading the game
  5. The Cart will glitch out if you have an NPC run into it (You will need to restart)

This list is to be updated with pictures if I am able to recreate the problem.

Developer

Hey BadPaint,

Thank you for your bug reports.
However, the game is no longer cancelled. People from the community have reached out to me to aid in the development and we have been making progress for more then a month now. So far, we have removed the cart and horse, for the time being so we can fix the outstanding issues with it.  But the other issues have been solved. We're working hard to get a version out as quickly as possible.

Thank you, again!!

:)

I am SO HAPPY to hear that. I love this game and I love the idea. Take your time, I can wait.

I am in version 0.0.82

The page where you level up stats is not working .

Hey Gnar1012,

This issue, I believe is tied to your rotation being messed up. You would need to download Slipcors fix to get it working.

how can i fix that my guy just automaticly walks and slides like it ice and i dont do anything i just walk around and it triggers so i havnt been playing it for 3 weeks now cause of it thanks if you can fix it and im using a windows 10 pc with pretty much better things than you need to run the game

I just got the game and love it so far but one thing I have noticed is the horse cart riding mechanics are a bit buggy especially while making hard turns and the player model doesn't go up steps very well he gets stuck a lot and I have to jump to get him over the ledge. I also made a couple suggestions which may or may not already be on your to do list but hearing a reply on your input is always nice and shows that the developer(s) actually listen to their players    :)

i cant level up as every time i go to level up i press P and then it opens the paper thing but i cant see it all im left doing is looking at his hands

Version= .082

I have a weird issue where when I load up the game my mouse is useable on the menus, I can set settings and toggle all the things. When it comes to non-menu gameplay my mouse isn't registering. I have switched my mouse and un-plugged and re-plugged, even deleted and reinstalled and reset my cpu. What have I not tried yet? I can move around in game with the keyboard but I cant look or click because my mouse only works in menus?

0.0.82 in my game sometimes my player move like it was walking on ice and when i stop touching the keyboard the player continue moving in the last direction, this happens a lot when i step over an item and i attract that item to my self, for this reason i start flying and when i drop the item and fall to the ground i go through the ground  and stay semi buried moving  in this form, sometimes i dont go through de ground but the player move in this form and it's to annoying, but  i still love this game <3 :D

greetings from Argentina

When you start sliding (Like on ice), Crouch and stand up then you will be fine.

But about the block when you fly and leave it so you would fall, I am still unsure how the bug could be fixed, unless the dev updates the game. :D

Hey there, love the game so far. I'm playing on the most recent version of the game and it runs like a charm the only tiny problem that I'm having is with the skill menu. the character will look down all the way and you won't be able to see if. I'm sure that's an easy fix though. Fantastic game! two thumbs up from me. :}

When I follow the instructions to the letter it tells me I have to extract all from shop.sim  I do this then I launch the game very thing is fine but once I actually start the game crashes I'm running the latest verison with the second download on the list because with the first I got basicly the same thing and I thought the second one may fix it (also may I suggest posting this on steam plz, PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ)

I found a bug where when you put grips in a box to buy from the shop, after you leave the shop and try to open the box the grips will be stuf to the inside like its still closed and wont be able to retrieve them.

alpha 0.0.82

some specs are GTX970 and 8GB ram

Hello Dasius, firstly I love your game, its an amazing piece of work and I'm so happy that its no longer cancelled. One quick bug id like to report, when I try to dismount from the carriage, it sticks me in the cargo area and I cant get out without quitting to the main menu, losing my days work, thank you for reading :)Log in to reply

Not Sure if this bug was mentioned before, as I cant find anything related to it, but when i prepare the weapons in advance all works well, until I exit the game. no matter if completely, or just to the main menu. Thereafter when i reload the game, the items I prepared are still there, but the customers wont buy them. I have to take the items apart, reassemble them and then it works (sometimes, as i had a few occasions when not even that was enough.) Very fun though, a little gem in the sea of indie.

Hi there, I have a few things to report.

Firstly, my horse cart frequently bugs out, the physics go crazy and the cart flies around in the air, consequently distributing my crates all around the map. Seems to be when an NPC walks into it or when I attempt to make, what I can only assume is a too tight corner. (also, one time the spiralling cart hit me and sent me up into the air and when I landed I was glitched into the floor, had to reload).

Next, sometimes I can't actually grab the crates from the cart. This one is a bit random and after a few minutes or a reload it seems to work again, just thought I'd point it out. (It's like the crates are blocking each other in).

This one could be my incompetence rather than a bug, I'm not sure. I went to the parts store and loaded the crate with a load of grips, paid and walked back to my shop with the crate. When trying to take the stuff out of the crate I was seemingly unable to.  All I could do was grab the crate. The items inside highlighted in green when I hovered over them but I couldn't actually grab them. I took it outside, stood on the box and tried to grab them again only to be flung into the air, sent flying in a random direction and lost the crate altogether.

In the mine, I took a crate in and it oddly glitched to a spot. Not sure what happened, I placed it down and it was as if it was tethered to the spot. I could still grab it and move it a little but when I let go it would fly back to the spot. If it helps, it was just to the right of the first ore vein on your left as you walk in.

Occasionally the lantern on the cart will disconnect itself from the cart and hover in place.

Horse sometimes maligns itself from the cart. I believe it is the horse maligning from the cart and not the other way around.

I'll post anything else I can think of. The game is really fun but as a result of quite a few things bugging for me I'm going to come back to it at a later date, good luck with the development!

The horse cart doesn't seem to be present in 0.0.9  as it is the cause for quite a few bugs. I have experienced the issue of being unable to remove items from the crate when buying at Geoffrey's shop, too. You can take crates out of the cart, you need to be pretty patient and possibly wait for the cart to stop moving completely or find an angle where it works.

Heyy

so i noticed a possible bug.

-when i try to look at my profile the camera just pans down to look at my feet, how ever in sandbox mode it works fine
-also if i save my game then return to it later (even if its a second later) the people will not but the weapons I've already made. so i have to brake them down and remake them

i should also say im 0.0.82

Use the save editor to reset your rotation.

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

As for your other problem I don't really understand what you were trying to say.

(1 edit)

when i have pre-made things sat about in the shop, from when i saved it, the customers just wont buy them until i recraft them by taking it apart and putting it back together.
as for the link i'll check it out, thanks

My character sort of starts sliding around as if his inertia is turned right up. I press left and he will move and then gain speed and I have to press right to make him slow and change direction. I can also no longer jump, this makes the game unplayable as carrying things while sliding is difficult/impossible.

(1 edit)

head over to http://mlbs.slipcor.net/ and pick up the last or second to last save fixer

Reseting your Character (position) will fix the sliding - you're not technically on the ground level nor standing upright, despite how your vision may appear.

This occurs mostly when entering water (the intended result of water/swimming) and bugs out occasionally when interacting with the cart or anything else really that can disorientate the player rapidly.

Its best to steer clear of riding in the cart - However, a fairly uneventful ride will likely not cause damage

On the other hand - if you hit  abunch of unlevel areas (i.e, rocks) and/or the cart goes bonkers - you can be sure the character position will be flubber nucked...

The Character level sheet will likely also be "off" in the event the character is "off" (Orientation or Position)

When you properly use the Save Game fixer - Your character model will be reset to initial starting position and orientation - in the bed room

I've just leveled up, but when I go to look at my character sheet, my character looks at the floor and nothing can make me look at the character sheet.

Sometimes when moving around the forge carrying either an ingot or a closed box with ingots in it, i'll get catapaulted into the sky, sometimes even over the house.

What i did to fix that was i downloaded the MYLittleBlacksmith save game fixer for 0.0.82 the link is

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

What do I do with the file when I download it? Because I downloaded it and leveling is still messed up.

Use the save editor and reset your rotation.

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

(1 edit) (+1)

I'm running version 0.0.82

Every time I try to level up, my guy looks at the floor and I can't see the list to level up.

I have no idea what I did to cause this. It was able to level twice and the next time I tried, it did this.

My PC is pretty much top of the line.

Thanks for making this great game.

im getting a similar issue i only got to look at it once then bust

(+1)

You need to use the save editor to reset your rotation.

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/

When I was jumping around sometimes I would go flying in the air, I know you might have gotten this before but better models in the way you can actually jump over things.

Hi.

So I used the cart in 0.08 and my character now seems to have a bug. He (the player model) now stands sort of diagonally/slanted and it makes it difficult to walk up uneven survaces or steps. Another issue with this is that whenever I jump and land he begins to slide like he's on ice and has no friction, though this is fixed when I crouch and stand up again.

I'd love to get a response to this bug and maybe a fix. For now I recommend not using the cart in case this happens.

same several times i tried to jump on the cart to get my crates out near the mine i went sliding off though only in the vicinity of the mine

(1 edit) (+1)

I managed to fix it my downloading the save editor and resetting my rotation. Be sure to grab that and do the same.

Hey Dasius good job on your game it has developed well and has given me ideas and inspiration for other games to develop in the future but i did come across one issue with the horse cart it buged out and dropped everything i put in the cart on the floor then it glitched in the air above the horse and spazzed out and eventually it launched me across the map to the top of a mountain. I cant send you a video through discord so if you have any ideas to see the video can you tell me and i will send it i also think a tutorial would be nice for the game. I look forward to seeing the game develop and to contribute however i can in the future.

I think im running the game on 0.0.82

What i think i did was leave the horse on follow mode then went in and out of the cave and thats when it dropped the items and when i made the horse follow me the items made it spazz

1. 0.0.82

2. when i try to access my skills menu i look at the floor and can't read the document.

Hey guys, I need some serious help here!!

Whenever I pick up my character sheet to level up myself, sometimes it looks down and sometimes it looks straight up.

I tried to reopen the game and reinstall it, but the situation gets even worse!

The wagon stuck to the horse sometimes glitches and sends me far away from my home, which makes me get mad and annoyed because I would waste 10 minutes running back home and it makes me tired...

Can someone help me fix this bug?

Also, I really need someone to tell me how to use the little Save Fixer because I don't even know how it works X-X

Use the save editor to reset your rotation. That might help. As for using it you should just open it and choose what you want to do.

Can you make a video of how to do that?

Because I am confused right now ;-;

Or u can show me screenshots instead :D

This is what I got after extracting the files using Winrar and it was on 0.0.82 (Playermodel fix)

http://mlbs.slipcor.net/
Download it from here. It should be a Java application and the rest is self explanitory.

(1 edit) (+1)

Here are the steps I made:

First : I got to this site and clicked on 0.0.82.

  Second : Downloaded

Third : Extract the file.

In the end : I get stuck with these 3 files...

First of all, thanks for being here with me. However, I really need to understand what do I do AFTER I download that file.

I keep getting stuck with these 3 files, is there any possible understanding to this situation? (After download?)

A screenshot or a video will be SUPER helpful. Thank you! :D

So from what I can tell, you don't have Java installed. You need Java in order to open .jar files, you don't need to extract it. Go ahead and grab Java and use that to open the downloaded file.

(1 edit)

So I downloaded java, however I don't know how to use it.

When I download the file 0.0.82, it still doesn't show java, so I might be in trouble again...

Well, I guess I will play the game until this bug is fixed by updating the game, thanks a lot for trying to help me figure out how to remove this bug, really appreciated! :)

When you download the save editor, right click the file and click "open with" and then click Java Platform SE Binary. That should open the file in Java and the rest is straight forward. If Java doesn't appear in the menu, click "choose another app" and then "more apps" Java should be in the list.

So I downloaded JAVA, but it never pops up for me, I dont know why.

I already downloaded what you asked for me to do and downloaded it, but I cant see it.. ;-;

occasionally, my character starts to glide around when I move and when it does that I cant jump or go up steps. pls fix.

I have the same problem you cant pre make stuff ether because the customers don't take it

i have this too if you guys find a solution to this problem let me know as well it would be much appreciated

i found dropping an ingot or a dagger blade on the floor then floating at it until you ''land'' works

cant grab crates out of the cart pls make a flap or steps to get into the cart and make it easier to remove things from it.

1. I was trying to make a Pickaxe. Placed 2 copper ingots. Placed a 3rd one.. Anvil eats it. (Ingot spins around inside the Anvil like crazy then disappears).

2. FIXED. (For some reason fiddling with my graphics worked?)
Customers won't take my tools. I tried waving it in their face, putting it on the floor, on the counter, Treated them like a frightened endangered species by slowly approach them from the front with the tool and from the back as well. Customer eventually walks away. Yes, I'm sure I made them all correctly and yes, I hit bankruptcy.  v.v

3. FIXED.
When ever I look at a grip or any item I can select and pick up, my game graphics changes.. Most visible differences is the shelves. Examples:

4. This is me riding my horse carriage out into the forest only to be sent flying. As you can see, that is also me laying on the ground with a broken neck and my carriage attempting to eat my horse and teleporting into the sky and back. :D

5. My cart just Flies. I learnt my lesson and didn't board the cart and only use the horse to follow me and bring my boxes. It worked just fine the first few times. When I was loaded my cart with boxes full of ores and commanded my horse to follow, the cart explodes and my ore boxes flew over the mountains or somewhere idk. I lost a bunch of ores and my crates. :c

-Slow Clap- Honestly love the game though. The whole crafting and selling to customers is my type of game but if only I can play it properly haha!

Hey Dasius there's a bug where if you jump/go on an ingot under you and grab it you can fly.

OH!I almost forgot! When i turn around after i made something on the anvil i cant move so i have to press the jump/or w button to get out.

I leveled up and when I pressed P to assign the point my screen just scrolls to the top and I can't see the sheet.I am playing on Alpha 0.0.82

sorry if this was already answered

same problem

i lost 3 boxes....2 from the wagon glitching and 1 from the cave...it was full of copper ore...;-;

I had that filled 2 boxes put one in the wagon the other one disappeared in the cave

Hey Dasius could you go and look at the last page please?

FK

1. I'm currently running the version: 0.0.82

2. I have bugged my wagon up, so it flew into the sky. But when i relogged and tried to open my shop. The door wouldn't open. And if goes the other way if i try to "close" the shop and open the door. (It goes inwards)

Hi Dasius,

I'm running version 0.0.82 and I start the game, everything seems to be working perfectly, and then when a customer comes in they won't accept the weapons they order. I've tried giving them the ones I've made previously and left on the shelves that are to the right of the counter, I've tried putting the weapons on the counter, on every shelf, on the floor, outside...you name it. I've tried making a new weapon just for them as they come, and they still won't take it. The timer runs out and they leave, and now my shop is full of weapons I can't get paid for.

How do I fix this? I'd really rather not delete the save unless it's the only way, as I don't want to have to start from scratch if this is going to happen every time.

2. The Problem/Bug: (This isn't crucial just something you might wanna fix) Sometimes the NPC bugs out, and goes too far to the left of the front door to thew shop. So the NPC can't come in. and you have to "Close shop" and "Open shop" to "continue"

I'm having an issue with my cursor, I can't highlight/click anything on the menu without my cursor being roughly an inch or so lower than the intended selection. I've also noticed that it does make a difference in-game as well, but in reverse, meaning I have to look a little bit higher than the intended item to click on... I can't even properly navigate through the graphic options to better set the game for my new monitor.

Hey so i don't know if i just pressed a button wrong but every time i look at the skill sheet, my character decides to look at his crotch. I have closed and reopened the game multiple times but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

I am not sure if it was posted already or not, but my bug is with character perks.

When you first launch the game everything is fine, when you restart and open the perks menu the character goes crazy and looks down at the floor and you can do NOTHING to help it

Maybe it will be easier to upgrade, when this paper is on some wall?

Another bug is when new customer runs towards the shop, it looks like some of them are dangerously drunk and they won't enter before smashing against the door

Also, it would be great to know more about the tax that's supposed to happen in a month and better pricing ability. i had upgraded my charisma to level 3 but after using 10 copper on making things i ended up having just enough to buy more copper and more parts. that's quite awkward.

also also crates rn have reversed closed/open messages

My Cart have just flew in the sky....

I have a constant problem after I jump I just end up floating about I cant jump again or get over the lips of doors or the patio thing that the forge is on I keep loosing customers and patience its not even random its every time I log the other thing is I  took two crates into the mine filled them both took one out to my cart the other one disappeared help?

First things first, I have to say; I LOVE the game. I've always loved these kinds of simulation/shop management games, and combining that with the whole RPG world of making weapons is an amazing concept. Obviously, since this is an alpha build, there's going to be a lot of bugs with it.

I don't know if any of these bugs have been mentioned before, so blanket forgiveness if I posted a repeat. This is all on version 0.0.82

The physics are... clunky, at best. First of all, as people have mentioned, the whole flying horse cart bug is a serious issue and it needs to be fixed. I've spent the whole game just walking as it's not worth the restart to use the cart. Second, you can literally fly up into the sky just by standing underneath an object and holding it, it's a fun bug, but that does need to be fixed as it can get quite annoying as it can send items flying as well.

Next are the crates--sometimes the items you put in the crates will get stuck and you'd have no way to pull it out, it happens a lot when you buy parts from the parts shop. Actually, a lot of items can get stuck in various things, and that's somewhat frustrating.

Then there's also a bug where you can still run even when the game prompts you that you're tired. You can do this by pressing shift while holding an object, it only lasts for a couple of seconds, but you can spam the shift button to run indefinitely.

I believe those are the only bugs I've found so far? Is the coin chest supposed to actually have coins? Because I haven't seen any coins at all, maybe it's removed and I just didn't know.

If it didn't work, then when it starts to glide, all you have to do to stop it is crouch and stand. That will solve the problem you're having! :D

So I had this strange bug. I had been on day 4 and decided to switch over to sandbox mode for a moment. When I switched back to the shop all the materials and even the stuff from the bedroom were thrown all over the map out in front of the shop. The money had reset to zero, and the name of the shop had gone blank. the horse was also on top of the shop.

edit: I tested it a few times, It happens after you sleep in sandbox.

I am in Alpha Verson 0.0.9c

Here you go, the developer already explained how to solve this issue, here is the link:

Okay... I kinda fixed it! Just click multiple times!

I LOVE THIS GAME PLZ MAKE IT EVEN BETTER

YEEAH! I closed the game 3 times and now it works

Developer

Thanx for posting your fix.

I'm on 0.0.9c and whenever I get a customer that has a shield in their order they doesn't leave after I finish their order and they have both items

(1 edit)

I believe you paid $5 for testing that version?

Well, I have seen a Youtuber (IGP) and he had the same problem, to fix that:

1 - Give the armor to the customer

2 - Save the game through main menu (not auto save)

3 - Quit to main menu or quit the game

4 - Rejoin the game

5 - Problem solved :D

I also found you can do the same thing with going to sandbox mode and switching back to fix it.

using version 0.0.8

my screen resolution is broke and stuck on a certain view to where I cannot click the options button to resize it ..... help

I have a 1920 by 1080 screen and a gtx 960 with an i7 core

when there is more than one piece of fire wood in the smelter it wont take durabilty normaly it would divide the burning through all the wood having one piece have 99% and the others still haveing 100%

Hello guys, its day 12 and my door is closed and my shop is closed to, i click on the sign to open and the door is still closed and blocks me and AI , I have no way of opening the door , does anyone know how to solve this?

you can get money by putting items from geofrey s part shop in a basket taking them out of the basket and throwing it out of the shop

Okay, so i don't know how, my boxes was right besides eachother, open, when i slept the option of closing the boxes won't appear, so atm i can't close the box. The horse wagon managed to go completely haywire and dissapeared, haven't returned yet, it was the second night it happened, currently at night 6. I started out with 4 boxes, one managed to dissapear completely in the cave, despite my effort of going all out gamma, it wasn't there.

(1 edit)

Thats one problem out of 3, the box problem can be fixed by putting assumingly anything in, then the option will re appear, i did it with copper ore.

Also just noticed that if you have created a weapon, if you log out, you cannot sell this item, apparently it doesn't register it as a complete weapon or something? The customers won't take the tool/weapon at least. :(

while riding the cart if it gets stuck and you keep moving forward then it starts going crazy and whatever was in it is lost so imagine if there was something valuable in the cart but love your game good luck i hope its a success.

I've had the same problem.

I heard a fix to it is to crouch down (default "C") and it should fix the sliding, although the cart separating is something engine side (I think) and you can see the same thing happening in another game (Garrys Mod) where your welded parts will separate and spring back together.

At this point I've realised that the cart and mine are riddled with bugs so I avoid them completely in my playthroughs now. While it might be inconvenient, it certainly isn't game breaking which is the main thing for me. :)

(2 edits)

I'm having an issue with the version Alpha 0.0.82 whereafter entering the mine my level up page "P" doesn't display properly.

It's a shame because it's game breaking I can't level up.

The only fix I found to this is a new game, I'd reset my graphics settings to the default just before taking the screenshot.

What I did in the mine was bring a box in and fill it with copper ore and then take it out, load the cart, and head back home.

A temporary fix I found is to crouch down and use the "P" menu which will display it (albeit awkwardly) in your hand and you can see every option for level ups.

There is one thing (wich is quite fun sometimes) that if you have a big sword or item wich you can hold, you can fly with it.

It's quite annoying when it pushes you back if you hold it

Nice game so far btw

ok, I went into the new shop thing where you can buy handles without ordering them, and I put them in the sell box to buy them. I closed the box, and shook it quite a bit while trying to figure out how to actually buy the items. Then I looked at the sale price, and it was -2,000$! Wat? Hmmmm ok. Plz fix. I think its because the game is sensing the items are leaving the box, but not sensing them come back in? I THINK this is version 0.0.82, but I could be wrong. Also, when I got a skill point, and I went to open up the menu, I couldn't see it because the charichter looked down past the upgrade paper. So have like ten unused upgrade points. Plz fix! One more small thing. The cart is INCREDIBLY glitchy. Currently the horse is leading the cart from what I would estimate to be 2 ft to the left of the bars that would normally be on either side, but it acts like the horse is centered somehow. Also, sometimes my horse randomly won't turn. It fixes if I play with it a bit, but its really annoying. Check into it?

P.S. I still LOOOOVE this game think its really cute. Keep up the good work

(+1)

I press P to view my stats but the view goes way down to where i can't even level up now... i quit the game hoping it would reset it but it wont.

Great work so far! I love the game and I really enjoy what you have created so far. I currently became a patron and got the version 0.092c and something that is still present from old versions, it's whenever I put  the ores on the box and try to take out the ore out of the box and by accident pick up the box instead of the ores all what is inside bounces away so far from where I am, because of that it makes it hard to work with the boxes...

(1 edit)

I think there's copper ingots in the anvil.
So two ingots alone can make a two-handed sword.

It can not be made with three copper ingots or another charge.

I used a translation program because I was not good at English.

WOO bugs galore.

1.  Have the cart flipping out some.

2.  Calm it down by save loading.

3. Get temporarily slapped while saving (somehow)

4. Character now at angle and skates much more frequently than normal.

5. Spots that fix skating (sometimes); The furnace, the anvil, the cart wheel (kind of hard), the crate (by forcing it against yourself to get you to a none skating area and press space bar).

Hi, I've been playing the 0.0.82 release and have found a bug. After putting parts in the shopping crate at the parts shop and leaving, the parts attach to the crate and can't be removed, this has become quit the problem for me since I want to buy from the shop. However, reopening the game deletes the bugged crates and drops the items.

This problem's already been solved on the wiki but basically  the crates are bugged and might have been fixed in the recent update but just don't use the shop crates.

from what I'd heard about the new version (haven't played it yet) it shouldn't function quite the same

However.

It deals with how the Shopping Basket is Identified.

When you put items into the shopping basket, and only the SB, it calculates price - it isn't even entirely accurate and the slightest error (item removed and put back in) can cause the whole order to be labeled "stolen" (non-preventing in .82 - but in the future, "Stolen" will prevent customers from buying it, if I recall correctly)

The main "stuck" problem is because the item's Physics are "Locked" to the "Shopping Basket" - which has a closed lid (if you closed it, if you didn't, this doesn't even arise as a problem.)

When you take the "Shopping Basket" out of the store, it calculates the "deduction" listed on it (may be negative, thus granting you money) and changes the "Shopping Basket" into a "Crate" - Not even the same "Crate" as the (Player) "Crate" - Notably the "prompt" for opening and closing text- doesn't show up.

Because it is now "Crate" when you go to "open" it, The items physics are not returned. - Because you opened "crate".... Not "Shopping Basket"...

Yep. 'something along that line' is why it does this.

(Note: Names of items above are.... Not... exact? They're just names I've 'nicknamed' them for identification purposes, so to say.)

The Easiest ways around it if you intend to continue using his store is to just not close the basket, Carefully, very carefully, carry it out with everything, Then Close it.... However I don't recall if that will "lock them" so be ready for a physics tornado to possible form inside of the crate, which may potentially still eject them through the crate. - As I said

It becomes a "Crate" but not necessarily a (Player) "Crate" like the ones you spawn with.

버그,  NPC 안보여요

Version 0.009c

Windows 7 64-bit, AMD FX-6300 Six-Core 3.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, Radeon RX 470

1) Game randomly crashing, only noticed this when I'm taking heated ingots off of the forge

2) Ingots not persistent when inside boxes when you restart a game. I tried storing excess ingots in a box and upon restarting the game, they were gone. This does not effect raw ores.

3) Customers do not pay proper price for alloyed weapons. I made a brass dagger and when I sold it, it only sold for 18 c and when I inspected the bill of sale, the brass ingot was not paid for.

4)Items after they have been forged occasionally fall through the assembly table

5) Customers that order shields do not leave after their order is fulfilled. If you make their weapon and dismiss them, then they leave. Only after you have made and given them the shield do they just stand there. A fix I have found is saving the game after the order has been fulfilled, return to the main menu, and then restart the game.

I hope some of this helps, the game is really promising and very fun. Please continue to work on it!

@poza07

the newest version has some bugs with the customer. Your bugs are known and we work on a fix for it.

How to do a shield.

- grab a wooden log and place it on the wood workbench outside and choose the shield type you want. Press start cutting.

- Take the wooden part to the workbench inside.

- place 2 heated ingots of the same type on the anvil and sellect shields in the radial menu.

- Hammer the ingots until you get the rim part. If you hit the heated rim again you can go through all of them.

- Cool down the rim you need in the oil bath.

- Go to the workbench where your wooden part is and drop the rim on it. The parts should attach automaticly.

- go back to the anvil to make the boss and the 2 handles.

- Place 1 heated ingot on the anvil. Make sure its the same material as the rim.

- Select shields and start forging. After a few hits you should get the boss then the wrist enarmes and then the hand enames.

- Place all 3 parts on the shield and you should get the notification that you crafted a ..... shield

Torn about posting my bugs here or in a collection in a thread again....

1_ Felt it was odd to see an Ore vein and then it changed moments before I got to it (first excursion, it'd feel normal if it was closer to a conceivable cycle period)

2) Items (anywhere) are capable of being strongarmed through a physical object. I noticed this first with the house-wall behind one the shelves I, overjoyed with the katana/curved great blade - accidentally pushed it against the wall in intention of piling tons of them there, and forced it through (with minimal effort) - Luckily, it was not through the wall where the incinerator is - so I managed to keep it. I can see how this would tie into others claiming to have it drop through the workbench.

3) Wood Memory is still an issue. - I'm not sure I spawned in with it being rare, but I recalled it being Rare when I took note of it and put it on the new table - eventually I got off without messing with the wood, and now I'm getting back on for the first time after serious gameplay, and immediately noticed that it was now "common" and not only that, it was at 40% - Which is impossible for me to have done as I do not yet possess an Axe.

4) I do not know about new map areas, nor if the Light Crystal/protection was moved - But it didn't spawn on the Not-Master-Sword pedestal - However the shield was back, yaaay. (Back as in I don't recall it making a comeback in 8, not back as in respawned, It's still where I left it)

5) I appreciate the second larger home being "usable" even though its "not for sale" (at least if it's buyable, I haven't gotten there yet) - However. I assume since it is "NFS" that it's not supposed to still be usable yet. - Well it is. So I'm making a note of it here, for now.

6) One can still cause themselves to be shot across the map through Physics based propellants - It's not as "simple" to do anymore, You're not going to fly on a magic carpet ride with your weapon blueprint scroll - But certain objects can still cause it, I should know, I shot myself from the mine over onto a mountain top by accident.  It was performed with a crate full of ore and one (or more) crystals.

7) Oh right. The most important bug I ran into that I can think of. - When I booted up, The game remembered my previous version save - that's fine and all but I wanted to start a fresh game, So I clicked new game (bug also possible with clicking main menu) - - - It tried to take me to the main menu, and froze just before the screen fishing "coming in" (It kinda fades in from darkness? I think? half-faded in, it stops) - Preventing a new game or main menu from finishing - had to delete relevant save info, as well as force-close app and restart it, to properly get a "new game" - It runs fine if I boot it, main menu, start playing - it bugs out if I try to go back to the main menu after being in game. - It's possible to be something wrong with the 64bit version or my download/install of the game - I haven't tested for that.

I'll get back at a later point with anything else I find.

Nvm. found the new Light crystal church location after I took a moment to explore after encountering the above mentioned "stay x" and no customer bug. - quitting to add this and see if that clears it.

Also found that stray tin ingot, cheeky cheeky... me likey. Now I just need to get enough for a pick still... Not sure if intentional - but When you're in water, you gradually (quickly) lose all momentum you may have had and eventually start being extremely slow... I darted into the water full speed, had a good bit of speed in water/coverage, by the time I was halfway from where I landed and the shore - I was essentially crawling at a snails pace.

Map leading up to a mountain side that makes it possible to reach Ironwill King is... either possible.. or not possible enough...

I can't tell if it was intended to get up there - although he will say something if you get close enough so I imagine it is supposed to be possible

But part of that mountain side is non-physical, and part of it is. (white non physical and the one brown/tan rockface exposed in the middle is.... Although I guess I'm not sure that's actually the proper way to reach the king (this is a face near the "Quarantined Castle" and horse.

also 8) Wood logs and Horse still have XYZ markers exposed

I question if the Stray Tin Ingot and OneH grip are intended to be the "Not Mastersword"... The Church has a peek towards the area I found them, and they're off the beaten path in a direction that lies similar to the pedestal.... Is there supposed to be a blade style and type that can actually fit the hole in the pedestal and "do" something? I mean, That chest was awfully "DO DO DOOO DOOOOO" kinda way.. I mean. The mechanics are thus there for a "Trigger" activated by the player to actually.....

I'm digressing.

Anyway.

Small Edit not going to scratch out anything previous

Found out it was possible to sorta "scale" the mountain right beside the king (rather easily)

So I assume that the other location (near the castle further away) is not intended as the way up to him, and is instead, a point in which the player can manage to scale a part of the map onto the top of a mountain range which may or may not be able to get them to other inaccessible parts - and may or may not cause issues.

9) Geoffrey sells "One hand Guard v1" and the scroll sells one hand guard v1 - But they're two different guards.

I'm guess the guy who came earlier to my shop wanted Geoff's version since I only got a 10% bonus which happened the previous time when I only got one part right (I thought I had everything right this time vs 1 out of 2 or 3 conditions)

I imagine it is supposed to actually be "One Hand Guard vG" or "v4" (G for Only at geoffreys :l )

Wow I'm flippin blind. I just realized there's also a "One Hand Guard v3" which looks similar, but not exactly like, the "One Hand Guard v2" from previous versions and the scroll -

Image will expire in 31 days

Version 1 is the bars looking one (Originally)

but v1 is also the mustache/moon looking one (Bought at Geoffs)

V2 is the one with the needle tipped silver segment (Originally)

V3 is the disc shaped one (originally)

V3 is also the full-gray, slightly smaller/differing shape/angles one that looks like v2 (Geoff)

Oh ho hooon.... Zat chest may actually be bugged or not.. I dunno. I just went back to get the handle with all the crystals in a crate cause I wanted to explore and see if the crystals did anything.

Found a new tin ingot, a mitril ingot, and handle (after opening the chest a new, and they seemed to "spawn" after it was open cause I didn't see white and red peeking through.

I can see how it could be intentional - A small little gift for those who explored and roughed the pain and a half it takes to get to it.... but I dun think its really supposed to be as I've found it.

Issue 10) Strength leveling doesn't actually seem to work... hard to say for sure. but It sure doesn't feel like its working.

And I've checked the "feel" by cheating for more points - Agility works, but Strength doesn't seem to take off even one swing, let alone 500 strength worth (I just kept pouring them on after I tried figuring out if my legit points were doing anything) still takes several swings, with Titanium Hammer. (As I said  - said rare lootz zelda like chest off the ways - respawns - Which I don't think is intended. - don't get me wrong. I love that you added it, I love loot, Loot loot loot. Honestly I wish there were more of them hidden around the place, like for instance maybe on the roof of the shop hint hint nudge nudge (cause its possible to get onto the roof of the shop quite easily, btw.)

I'm digressing - but if you wanted to "fix" the chest and make them like, single spawn, and like hide one near the king, near geoffs, where the current one is, near the second shop/hill building, in the mines, etc etc - That'd be great. - you could ... well no you couldn't hide one lower on the map level because there'd be no good way to get it back to store... since Items that come with you when you "fall off" and get "respawned" at the church don't make it back up... - Though Maybe it could be a "risk reward" kinda thing and there could be a sign saying "If you want this loot, You'll have to throw it back up. Aim carefully!"

AAauuggh.. Freaaaking still digressing.

Anyway. Strength doesn't seem fully operational.

Issue 11) I've seen several ingots from said chest spawn with a grip (Chest has a chance for 2 random ingots, or 1 ingot and 1 one hand grip, by the looks of it) the grip spawns half way in the ingot because the ingots are set to spawn reallyl reallly close to each other, but the grip is.. wider.. taller? larger in diameter? than an ingot - and thus collides, causing the ingot to explode out from the chest.

Needless to say. This is entirely random where it ends up going. - It can be shot off towards the water - which I have not tested yet whether it would "live" going into the water (sink to the floor?) - However. I imagine it'd wind up like the other part of this issue.

The Ingots can phase through the rock-face (inconsistently). There's nothing more heart-wrenching when you open a chest, see a dark-blackish ingot fly out of it and go "HOLY SHIT TITANIUM?!" only to watch it phase through the ground as you  scramble to try and click it.....

Nothing...

Heartwrenching...

Until you realize the chest respawns. and Get over it.

I know the invisible customer has already been mentioned

I know the bronze sale price has been mentioned.

I haven't attempted/managed to get a customer for the above mentioned Bronze price though - by this I mean I'm experimenting with them.

Normally you combine Tin and Copper to get bronze, However.

If you stick Bronze ingots or parts back into the smelter, thanks to the smelt-down addition.

It looks to spawn bronze ore (not confirmed, just looked like it) and then resmelts that down into new ingots.... Which I have tried selling yet.

I want to see and will update with either strike-through or results - if Bronze registers if it's been resmelted into ore and then new ignots direct from their specific ore - and if this applies for brass and steel too.

I also know that it's been mentioned that a closed crate containing ingots upon save and reload - also deletes the ingots and only the ingots, dunno why only the ingots, but only the ingots... to which I say... Nothing is more heart wrenching when inspecting a crate full of nothing but handles... after you know you also put the second spawned titanium in said crate......... Nah j/k I was already over it when I realized it, I mean I kicked myself for it - I knew it before doing it that it was reported.

Issue 12) Placing many completed long swords into a crate gets weird.

I made likee.. 9 blades in an attempt to find the "Not mastersword" for the pedestal and dumped them one by one into a crate I'd placed by my workbench, and closed the crate.

When I went to grab it, It kinda freaked out a little, and when I moved it away, two swords fell out of the box, I say fell, but they simply didn't "come" with the box, floating there in mid air.

It was at this time that I dropped the box a bit aways and grabbed at these swords, fearful of Geoff'shopping basket 2.0.. they were fine.

The crate however. was not. - It came to my attention that I could not open the crate to put the swords back in... I couldn't get to the swords inside the crate at all.

after some jumbling and forcing a sword through the box, I managed to unlock the crate.. and... my worst fear came to be true.....

Geoff's shopping basket 2.0... alllllllll of the other swords were glued to the crate. - But... I could actually still touch them.

And after a LOT of tweaking and shifting, I managed to one by one, get the crate to recognize something was inside the crate, close, and then open it again. releasing the swords one by one.....

There are... Other.. instances similar to this... but not the same.

12A- Instance one is carrying an empty, open crate through the woods. - At times it lights up its text and says there's actually something present inside the crate, it can be closed (click to close lid, or whatever) - One of these areas was near aforementioned Chest.

12B There was /several/ instances of closing crate near said chest, and the items and crate acting "strange" when moving them or moving around with them. Sometimes the crate even seemed to float and rotate away from where I was holding it at. - Shifting view to try and keep up only seemed to worsen it until randomly or enough viewshifting, caused it to go "Oh shit I'm not right, reset" and it'd go back to normal for a while...

Managing to keep the box closed in this condition and getting it home was followed by opening it and its contents exploding around the place, so forcefully that the crate shot off and away from under the forge overhang, along with a few of the pieces that were in the crate.

Hello.

I'm playing the Alpha 0.0.9 version of the game and I can't seem to load my old save: it just lets me start from day 1. I've checked the save file from the location and it's there. Does the game bug out, or do I have to do something on my end?

That's strange.. but I'd have to assume it deals with something you have present in your save verse being an old save.

Perhaps some items were in places that would be overrode with new objects, and couldn't be purged or moved so it considered the save corrupt.

Most alphas force players to start over every time.

This isn't necessarily the case here - as when I downloaded 9 the first time, I was greeted with my most recent restart save from 0.0.82 which was like day 27 that time around.

This is why I state it must be something specific of your save, and that causes it to not load.

But honestly, you'll probably want to restart anyway.

There's some new areas (no mining I don't think)  - And the return of the shield on the pedestal - not sure if it can be sold or what - There's not a "whole lot" of gain from restarting really, but it'll probably feel better

There's,... Some things that will help immediately throw you to the top if you're lucky....

like... Almost giving you the best metals.

I may have talked about this elsewhere...

Thanks for the tips!

But by ''old save'' I ment 1 day old save, since I ''bought'' the game a couple days ago; Started playing the game, when it was version 9. But since the save loading works fine for you, I guess the problem's on my end.

I'll try to do something about it while waiting for some miracle-post telling me how to fix it.

So Your save is version 9 but it forgets it the next time around? everytime?

May want to try running in administrative mode if you can - since the save goes to users/appdata - There may be some restrictions in place to prevent it for permanently saving there....

That's the biggest thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Other that that maybe some kinda other method of folder restriction that prevents it from writing or permanently being written to.... perhaps check folder options and such... I can't imagine how some of these more vital folders could function, possibly being read only, but I mean. if they could manage to function being read only, and were in read only, that would be something that could prevent saving/writing to the necessarily location...

Fixed it.

I went to the save folder and manually deleted both files. It seems that the game refreshed it saving function? maybe I just got unlucky the first time saving, and the save file got corrupted somehow?

I mean... it's possible. Lots of things really are possible.

For instance it's possible to accidentally shove items through physical bounds/objects... I can't imagine what might happen if an item was saved whilst inbetween boundaries - I've seen, for example, a Katana blade/curved greatsword blade, fall halfway into the workbench with the most minimal amount of it sticking out, at one point, it was entirely inside the bench, not one ounce of it was exposed....

I eventually worked it out, but what happens if its something you don't even realize exists, that spawned and fell into something it shouldn't have, and then you save/exit?

But anyway. Glad to hear it's "working" now. - Hopefully, by the sound of other recent reports, it stays working and doesn't fall back off the deep end....

When i first installed the new 0.0.9 version, my horse was there, but i wanted to start over and made a new game but my horse and carriage was gone. every time i try to start a new game they never appear. is there a solution?

I have the same problem. and no idea to fix it

(1 edit)

In this version whenever i'm trying to play its taking up all of my CPU's processing power. Its causing the game to lag quite a bit. my cpu is an intel core i5-7600K @ 3.8GHz. I have tried it on minimal and maximum settings and its still the same.

Ok, nevermind. After tabbing in and out a few times and changing the graphics settings multiple times it stopped... weird.

v0.0.9c

Sometimes I cannot hammer anything that is on the anvil. I can chop trees/logs and mine but hammer wont swing on the anvil. Happened few times with copper hammer but more frequently with tin hammer. Everything else works with left mouse button but not anvil hitting. I have no idea how this problem comes, I just notice that I cant hammer. Usually quitting the game and coming back helps but not last time. It doesn't matter what you choose to do on the anvil or what ingots you have on it.

Also an issue with if you make bronze tools, customers will come asking for any type of material weapons/shields (for example titanium or adelite). But if dont have any alloy material tools, they only ask that material or lower.

System specs:
I5-4690k
GTX 970
16 gb RAM
Windows 10

Customers asking for Titanium will accept anything you give them, provided it is a lower quality (and price range within their budget) than Titanium.

Example

Customer asks for Adelite Greatsword

You already have an Iron Greatsword on hand.

You can hand them the iron Greatsword, You won't get a "Customer Type" (Customer's Type) bonus

You cannot, however, Exceed their price range. If they ask for Copper, You must give them Copper, They cannot afford Tin or better - Logically.

Example again - 1 Titanium ingot is 100 gold, If they ask for a Titanium Greatsword - They're prepared to spend around abouts 400gold give or take.

They can afford anything under 400 gold.

If they ask for Iron Greatsword - which is like... ridiculously less than that, They won't be able to afford even a Titanium dagger, Let alone a more expensive greatsword - heck they probably can't even afford an Adelite dagger.

hmmm..... Maybe I'm wrong on that. Ugh... I dunno. So much confusion between my first save and my second save now.

Literally had the "Adelite" great(hammer) customer - But he refused even Copper.

I suppose maybe if they specify to the detail "grip - head type" they absolutely won't accept a metal that isn't the type listed? - Or maybe there was some kinda quirk in the code on my first save that was letting me selling  (example: Adamantine Instead of requested Titanium)? I dunno. I guess just ignore my post unless it's helped you in some way.

(1 edit)

Double ignore.

If they just say "Type" "Item" - and nothing else. You can serve them up whatever.....

Unless Bronze is Higher than Adelite....... Which maybe it is somehow coded higher because having Brass, Bronze or Steel makes it so (insert Metal level/max?) can be purchased? ugh. I dunno.

Anyway.

Had a customer ask for Mithril One hand Hammer, Nothing specific past that,

Sold him an Adelite One Hand Hammer - cause I didn't have enough Mithril... (that's a lie, I could've smelted down a sword i'd just made... but I didn't want to...) He took it and paid/left

Edit - ignore the bronze higher than adelite - forgot I tried to pass off a Copper replacement for the Adelite one previously, which is definitely lower. So I'm just being stupid at this point.

If they go "Mithril one hand hammer, with an uncommon grip, and a mace head" They will /not/ accept Adelite/copper (comparison, replace mithril one hand with Adelite great, and adelite/copper with bronze/copper and I've "verified" that rejection

If they go "Mithril One hand hammer" They, as I just verified, will accept "Adelite one hand hammer"

Probably go ahead and make a second one, don't wanna keep it going back to an old page eventually if I wanna use the area to report them...

Anyway.

Issue 13 - There's a spot in the map where the floor is missing, You can fall through this area.

Its hard to describe the location though, as there's no real specific markers or names for these locations.

But I assume.

The Door, at the back corner of the map, which is between Church and "Current" mine - I assume, is another, planned mine, and is a closed door just for now. I assume.

Anyway.

Near /this/ door, somewhere along the Mountain line on that side of the path - That hole exists.

Issue 14 - Gold Still can zero out when met with too much funding.

Suggested Solution, Have another currency that titanium sales can't even really hope to max out

because it kinda seems like "about 20x titanium (2000 gold) give or take a couple pieces = too much money congrats now you got none" - Which isn't hard to reach at all.

Having some way to store Money in a separate data-field, purchase other items that can be sold for equivalent cash, or making it so "about 20x titanium" is but a drop in the bucket of "max cash capacity"... Is pretty necessary.

Issue 15. - Not really sure its an issue or what.

The Heater Shield located at the Sword Pedestal - It's rim and handles are copper, its a heater shield/wood, but has no Boss - You /can/ give it a boss, you can remove its handles, but not its rim, In none of these ways, Can it be sold. - I dunno if that's intentional, like it has something to do with triggering the whatever to whereever, however.

But....

The actual issue.

Issue 16... - After futzing with said shield, Perhaps before too but I can only verify after ("After futzing" = removed the two handles, Put the two handles back on, and then added a boss)

the Shield can be used for Magic Carpet rides much like items of the past. - I dunno to what extent, Just that when I pulled it towards me, It smacked me, and pushed me back, Then I tried to whip around to try and see if I could pawn it on a customer, and it tossed me into the bedroom, with my vision turned upwards (non broken, just seemed like it caused a spike of lag and exaggerated my movements) - I'm 92% sure as of writing this that It does what I actually say it does  (Magic carpet ride,, I.e, can stand on it, pull it towards you, and begin to fly in the air, with slight movements enabling directional momentum) - but - I didn't actually test for it, Was busy at the time and then I vaguely recall screwing something up by trying to be slick about resolving an issue and the game decied "Nah. Screw you, I'm frozen" and then decided "What, staring at frozen visuals aint good enough for you? F you (black screens)"

anywho.

Still ain't gotten the chance to sell alloys that have been resmelted. Will probably scrap this save and make a new one since My coin chest now reads 0, again...

(2 edits)

interesting... I started anew and the shield at the alter is now.... Iron...? looking.. maybe steel...However.. My copper hammer cannot smack off the handles this time....

Does maybe "Initial spawn" start it as "just an object"

but then saving and reloading maybe turns it into a "Shield with no defined ingots, with a hand grip and wrist grip"? that it then automatically makes Copper because its undefined?... Cause honestly, I didn't really remember it being copper looking in the first place either, I only remember seeing the copper every other time I paid attention to it, which was after reloads...

Or has it been made that you need a hammer of quality or better to break down items, to allow for giving of "better items" than hammer, which would have to be turned away (can't be repaired/dismantled) or just "can't be dismantled into something that the player can exploit" (Note, the first part is a "this is kinda just introduced thing" for the event of possible repair in the future - not saying there's actual repairs in current version (which I do not know if there is or isn't, but I haven't seen it))

Is it also possible the heater shield is randomized?

Edit - Note: the shield pre-boss, pre-reload as it spawned immediately after a fresh start, not even 1 day of rest - Is non-physical, I can't smack myself at all, I can't walk on it, I can't pull it into myself, or anything.  And I literally just started so I have no way yet of testing for "Post-boss"

edit 2- Reloading Converts the Iron-y looking Heater shield into a Copper, physical shield - Confirmed. I went off to get crystals and all the loots and stuff to bring back, had a save and reload in the meantime - and came back - I can now walk ontop of the shield, its rim is distinctly copper looking, not chrome/iron looking.

and I can. Indeed, Stand on it, and grab, and levitate into the air, like a magic carpet.

So I guess "shield with no physical/defined ingots" is quite likely to be the "fact" for that, and reload looks at it in the file and reads "No defined ingot? the fudge? Uhhh... I guess I'll just make it copper... "

Finally tested selling a Double-smelt Bronze (created a bunch of bronze via combining tin and copper - then REsmelted the created bronze (to produce "cooled Bronze ore" in the smelter) into new bronze ingots and attempted to make items - A customer finally asked for "A greathammer" no specificity  - Prompted pawned a Bronze one on him and he paid 18copper (the handle)

So Yeah. Busted that Idea. Alloy still just priceless - Best to just use them for your own tools in order to mine higher and sell stronger metals.

Though... I suppose the problem may still be that its Bronze... Even though Bronze is a much more amazing metal than tin alone... I could see how /maybbbee/ a particular person might go "But balance" and "you're just going to skip Tin, Iron /etc tiers if you get tin and then make bronze items!" and maybe Steel and/or Brass have values... I've still never had enough Steel or Brass on hand at any given time to have the necessary requested item - and for it to be specifically requested...

Like I've tried pawning Steel or Brass (or bronze) on a say, titanium/adamantine, request. Didn't fly, at least, not that I can remember.

And when they ask for "A" something - and not "metal" something - It's almost always a 3-ingot item, and never at a time I have anything to try - Bronze is easy enough once you have tin/money - but "a" is rare among rare.

It has occurred to me that the moments in which a customer is asking for "a"/"That" (no metal type) "weapon"

That they're actually probably asking for "Brass" "Bronze" or "Steel" - Which seem "high enough" on the "metal" "tiers" when you equip their hammer to allow customers to ask for things like Adelite and Mithril (I currently have a Steel Hammer, and have been getting at least Mithril Requests)

I just attempted to Pawn a Steel Dagger (finally a dagger request which I can easily provide Brass or Steel for) for a "Make me a dagger please!" - And he won't accept it.

This is why It's occurred to me that maybe they don't request "blank" metals at all, and that the Brass, Bronze, and Steel requests are simply as incomplete/broken as their prices. - and in reality - I've just been "underlevel" of a "requested type" thus able to sell.. not "random type"

Momentarily will attempt Brass first - Which I will assume to be the Lowest of the three alloys, and then Bronze, if I still have the chance, To see if either of these two grant "type" bonus - and/or Sell.

If he accepts Brass, but no type bonus, and Brass is indeed the lowest quality alloy (which I can't say it is for sure) - Then that means it must've been Bronze.... cause otherwise I don't see why NPCs would accept literally anything else I can currently provide for these, but not Steel - which I assume to be the highest.

(1 edit)

He accepted Brass, But still refused Steel - No Specificity or Type Bonus - So I have to assume based on that, He was asking for Bronze dagger - and the game simply couldn't actually allow him to say "Bronze" and that that determines what level of metal tier is "acceptable"  - likely based on what Customers can ask for/you can mine for with said Alloys.... pretty sure brass was able to mine up to Iron... Dunno about Bronze, Steel can clearly sell up to at least Mithril.

For the random reader - "Type" bonus seems to be generated any time you accomplish an order with the "requested type" of Metal.

Example - Iron greatsword - "Customer type" - - - - 5 silver (Subtotal was about 30silver, grand total was 40silver~)

Copper Greathammer -  customer type -- - - 5 copper (Subtotal was about 44copper grand total was 59 copper)

However on a one hand hammer request (no type that i could see) I sold a mithril mace - for 2g and some change (subtotal and total, but more) - And gained no Type bonus, Which I assumed/chalked up to the fact they didn't request a type.

BBBuuuuttt...

Now that I had a Request for "Dagger" no type

And couldn't pawn a Steel Dagger on them, but could pawn Brass, with no customer type bonus still

It wouldn't make much sense for "No type" to reject "any" type, let alone specifically steel.

Thus I must assume I was getting no "type bonus" because the NPC was actually Requesting an Alloy name which is registered "above" the metal I was presenting at any given time - and since I didn't provide that alloy - I got no bonus.

Now I guess I'll need to make sure I have Steel, Bronze, and Brass on hand in at least 3 ingots - so I can go Steel -> Bronze -> Brass and see if I get a type bonus and what that bonus is the next time someone asks with "no type" listed...

Also just had an Adamantine Request with Steel hammer/Mithril Pick. - So. Uh. Yeah. It goes up to at least that.... Might have to go and find some more coal veins and just equip a steel pick... since I'm clearly using an inferior pick...

There is a bug then making steel alloy

if you put more carbon ore then iron in, the carbon will disappear (it still show the animation of casting an ingot)

Didn't feel like trying to figure out how I wanted to do this.

Update on Strength Bug/number 8 10 or whatever...

Okay. So i've gone WAAAAAYYYY overboard... on cheating this time.

I gave myself 5000 Strength (Rest assured, It is "properly applied" - If you don't properly apply points, They don't register, including Agility - So you always need to properly apply them - just having 5000 strength means nothing if the game didn't register the "improvement") (Anyway)

I've given myself 5000 as opposed to the previous 500 of my previous save.

So there's a few variables here.

Variable 1, Its a fresh save

Variable 2 - Its 5000 points vs Constantly messing with/adding more points 500

DO now hit and create items in one hit I do not know exactly How many points it required to make the difference of a single swing. - But with a Steel Hammer, and 5000 strength, I know create them in one hit.

Previous save and anywhere from 100-500 (maybe upwards to 1000) didn't seem to do squat diddly.

But now. Registered progress/success

Anywho.

Update to the Update.

on save and reload - 5k was no longer enough strength.

and increasing it another 1k didn't do squat.

I'll have to try and finagle (Wow i have literally been spelling that wrong like, my entire life.... Course.. I never knew how to spell it in the first place and didn't think it was a real word/more than slang - but hey!) with it again to see if I can alleviate that issue....

Also My computer did something weird and the game ended up getting closed before I saved so I dunno what the next result of "reload" will bring.

(2 edits)

Update 3. four.. 9.. a billion.

Strength will die if you reload at all. I'm guessing it "breaks" permanently until you reset it manually in the same session - explaining why normally leveling up didn't seem to work, and why even pouring hundreds of stats onto it didn't seem to work.

It needs to be applied all at once to count, and needs to start from fresh - if you save and reload, it'll need to be reset again and started from fresh, again.- But - It won't need billions of points to do it. It just has to be all at one time, in the same sesh

Shield Update

Shield Wood breaks if not completed, I believe. Not entirely too sure on the specifics of this one yet.

but - If you make wood pieces but don't furnish them - save, and reload, they seem to be just as magical carpet ride as the Sword Pedestal's shield will get - AND

You cannot combine them with parts - or at least, Not RIMS... Everything else seems to work fine - Actually, I remember now I saw someone on a Youtube video with that issue.

He thought because he made the wood in the previous version, it was broke

but in reality

It was because he made a few of them, and then saved, updated, and reloaded thus, They were broken because of the reload, not version. - Which is what I'm faced with now - Same version, still broke, cause of reload, I'm only just now figuring out because I've only just now gotten a shield request for something I had.

I had already noticed they had become physical before hand - even tested them, but I didn't feel it was enough to report the bug because I didn't realize they couldn't be finished.

Update to Alloy

Seems to just all be borked - I'm 99% sure the customer I had was asking for Steel (no type given) and I supplied it, but still lacked any satisfying result.

The ingots weren't counted, no price, no bonuses, and most of all, The customer type bonus was not present, not that I can imagine it would be enough to make up for it.

Can still manage to sell Pretty much anything Adamantine or lower usually when they request "no type"

edit - crate update

Both Created crates, and spawned crates - delete ingots if left closed on save/reload.

(spawned currently equal presents - So I tested if wood crates did it too with all my spare bronze, brass, and Steel, since I wasn't losing much. - still cleared (obviously I had to reload since I just talked about a shield earlier))

Note: LEFT CLOSED. They won't delete ingots if they're sitting in an open crate

However.

If A crate detects items inside, It will automatically lid, so don't save and reload twice in a row if you are trying to store ingots for easier movement.

I do not know the entire details of "Automatically lidded" - As when you go to interact with it, It "fails" the first time - as if you're actually closing it cause it was last left on "open", and then you open it with the second interaction.

Going to consider this a bug and add it here.

The Present crate's sides - are very "thin" and it stands a few hairs taller than the old wooden crate

Thus.

They hold more Material, Which is great.

However.

That means the Wood crates hold less, And is not great, as you can only make wood crates, with very thick side-walls, and standing a bit shorter than the present, for a massively reduced interior/locking space. - And that also implies that if they're not changed and reverted back to that later on (the present crates) then the player will lose that additional space that they've now been acquainted with and become accustomed to.

Okay... so...

It kiiiiiinndda looks like "Assembled items break on reload" is still kinda a bug... I dunno. I honestly ain't sure when they break, I swore one or two times I reloaded, they worked, but definitely not this time.

Had a bunch of iron swords I'd made spamming swords against the sword pedestal that didn't have a reaction, So I tossed em up on the shelves - but hadn't had a sword request since that time, always bigger or smaller, or, not a sword.

But this time I had "Iron one hand sword" .. with like 8 swords in front of him.. I took a couple and held them up to his face with no reaction from his looking or anything, went back, dismantled one, reassembled it with all the same pieces, and out he went, purchasing it immediately.

So...

Seems like at least these ones, Broke.

Also did I mention that when you create a shield, its non solid, if yo reload its solid.

However. If you create a shield, non solid, and Put a rim on it, It seems to immediately become solid, no reload required

A completed shield definitely becomes solid, capable of flying carpet rides.

Well.

I am mentioning it now. there. I mentioned it.

Oh. I'm in the process of testing Coal and Iron >.>...

My smelter ate a piece of coal because I swiped it too close to the front by accident when pulling it from the ore pile to add to the fuel side.

Nonedit edit - Result - Coal is eaten by the smelter- - - as it, I guess, Acts like the ore that comes from it, Carbon ore, but once it gets smelted, it isn't carbon, so it doesn't combine with iron, Only pops a non-existent coal/carbon bar, and wastes it.

So that's a bug.

I wouldn't personally mind if you just used coal as carbon - since it is essentially the same - but - It doesn't work as it is.

Perhaps.

Its a really massive monstrous bug too.

Perhaps Coal has the triggers of "auto-smelt" (Have it in the furnance, turn furnace on, and it will automatically start smelting it, no need to have it on and insert it after. - Which Carbon must have done.)

and Carbon has all the triggers to combine or be resmelted.

But.

more importantly....

Coal may be eaten from the fuel... not saying/sure it is, YET but it might explain why it felt like the amount of coal I had got used too fast at times... Perhaps even when saving/reloading, it might get lodged in the boundary and then eaten by the smelter

(1 edit)

looks like there's places in the shop where you can get stuck... Gonna try slipcor's 0.0.82 player rotation reset thingy and hope for the best, not too terribly worried as it stands for losing out though, was kinda already back at titanium.. pretty easy to do with dat chest.

But yeah, Specifically. The posts are now more solid, but the player and often times get caught on them, and eventually, if immediate action isn't taken, slide into them enough to /really/ need to take action, and then, shortly after, Be stucked, seemingly hoisted off the ground enough that there's no traction

Reloading doesn't help - unless you haven't saved since getting stuck, which often won't be the case cause auto save when youopen menu after certain events/intervals.

Oh

You can make a Customer who wants a shield to go the eff away too, btw.

However.

Only if you do it "right"

You have to only supply them with either a shield, or the weapon, Then dismiss them. They won't give you back the item they've taken, but they will pay for it and only it.

You can get away with supply them with awesome shields worth 5-6 ingots worth (bonuses) of a great metal - and with, since usually they won't ask for a specific type of shield, only weapon - like a copper hammer and a round shield - package them a mithril shield and say "GTFO of my shop" and boom, You sold a handful of Mithril despite the pitiful request.

And you won't have to reload to get rid of them.

Plus in the event of Titanium... It's better to do this as you're very very likely to zero out your funds if you sell a 3ingot titanium weapon and a 5 ingot titanium shield.

Edit - Not sure if the Game fixed my position... or if the save fixer did... The save fixer probably did? I mean. the world is bigger.. so it stands to reason the position information may be slightly off due to that.

when I tried to get unstuck before, I only tried to switch to sandbox, move a bit, and switch back, remained stuck.

Obviously when I run Slipcor's fixer, I have to exit, which I didn't do previously.. I dunno if that fixed, but running the save fixer didn't "bork everything into a living hell" in game. and I was definitely not stuck after save fixer and restarting the game (But I wasn't in bedroom, I was near the middle of the yard in back, between gate, oil, and delivery zone)

found a new bug that required me being an a##hat to Geoff.

Stolen items can be cleansed of their status by assembling them into a complete weapon, and this unassembling them back to components

(Or - - - Or at least the new guards, Will check later by stealing more of his stuff to see if it applies to grips - Grips are probably the most questionable one, As once a guard is attached to a grip - it loses its identity and the "grip" is all that is seen from that point on, So grips will be the first one I check after this - at minimum, Guards do until I post otherwise)

Grips look like they remain stolen because they don't lose their Identity on combination. Guards however. do.

Stolen Guard + Stolen Grip -> Dismantle -> Guard + Stolen Grip

Stolen Guard + Grip -> Dismantle -> Guard + Grip

Guard + Stolen Grip -> Dismantle -. Guard + stolen grip

Sword + Stolen Guard + Stolen Grip -> dismantle -> sword, guard, stolen grip

So if there's a way to make the grip momentarily forget itself, It would likely clear the status, but otherwise, grips = hard to steal - everything else = easy peasy basically forgets regardless. - i.e I'm not even sure it remembers its stolen even if you don't dismantle it - since you can't even see "Stolen" before dismantling, because you only see the grip, and the grip wasn't stolen.

Major Bugo

Geoff can be broken, badly.

I can see how it slipped by - Most would think "oh there's no crate here, I need to carry this delivery box out of the shop" before breaking it

But.

If you break it in the shop because you were already stealing other items, and thus had a crate inside his shop

The Calculator for what you owe him will go flipping nuts.

I just bought an entire store floor for zero copper, Well. Everything but the poles. Actually made money off of it too. - I think it gave me the poles I had added in return gold, and doesn't have the ability to show negative value... managed to buy 6 poles for like 48 copper at one point... not sure entirely what all it remembers in pricing, if its a total opened in shop thing, or what.

Looks like it is still possible to have a customer get stuck after leaving the shop... Not sure what he's stuck on, but he's forgotten to get the hell out....

He's in the middle of the road between shop and exit - and as long as he's there, no more customers.

Should probably attach 3 additional timers to them.

"spawn"

"Timer 1 - Reach the shop" a short timer that prevents them from not reaching the shop

"Time 2 - initiate at shop" (standard/already present)

"Timer 3 - Started when spawned" - A backup timer that looks to ensure they start timer 2 - If timer two doesn't initiate, timer three will remain running, and eventually despawn them

"Timer 4 - Insurance" - A backup for all of them. a long timer that cannot be overruled except by a new customer being spawned - This timer will be excessively long compared to the others to ensure they get the hell off the map. Long enough for the slowest possible walk into the shop, the entirety of the longest customer order-timer, and a bit of change for slow exit of shop, So that maybe a minute or two more than /all of that/ it despawns them

Bug updates. Looks like there's a specific small window if you close the shop after a customer - that they're no able to recover from.

My guess is....

Directly at the shop - there's an NPC correction path

But once on the road, there's not an NPC correction path existing outside of the path-proper - Thus, there's no pathing for them and they're dismissed from being a customer, so they stop using the customer exit pathing or something....

So if they're right by your fence, and not yet on the road, Do not Close shop you should probably wait to close shop when you can verify they've despawned, or while the other is spawning - as I imagine there's a fair bit of "NPC correction" on the main road they walk until they get to the shop - because you can at any point, close shop, and it makes the most sense for the correction to exist there, as they will guaranteedly be on that path for a good majority of their existence._____________

Geoff and Stealing.

Turns out. If you steal, currently, They forget they're stolen on reload (**** At least they do if they're in your shop)

I had a pile of stolen handles I kept near the forge for my own tools because of the earlier stealing experiments. But when I ran into the Shop customer pathing error earlier, I had to, unfortunately, reload, no choice, which was not what I wanted to do.

Unfortunately. I'm going to have to again pretty much immediately, because on day 8, I finally got one of the customers to demand from me an Adamantine Sword - And I was like Wooo, Express rich! GET OUT OF HERE YOU SCAMP :D (he wanted a shield too, But I ignored that and dismissed him after the sword.)

Hastily once he was out of my door way, I closed and then bought three new adamantine ingots and made a pick, where I saw the stolen handles were no longer stolen, all of them, not just one stray that could've been excused as a handle that got knocked over there.

You may be wondering, or may not if you remember my earlier bug findings... How did a customer request adamantine.

Well.

I got an adamantine ingot, and a steel ingot, from the secret loot chest. - and then when I had to reload - I got another adamantine ingot... oh and another steel but at that point that didn't matter.

Earlier before the reload I'd managed to sell enough for /one/ tin ingot. Which I promptly scrapped together with a copper ingot, and gave myself 2 bronze ingots to make a new hammer with, and was biding my time waiting for someone to ask for a dagger or an adamantine dagger - which then escalated to an adamantine sword when I got the second ingot.

ANYWAY....Stealing just became a matter of reloading and then its duper easy.

_______________

Also side note, we'll see in the next reload. But it looks like the sword pedestal's shield will remain iron/whatever if it isn't in the shop's radius on reload....

Or maybe it was because of me tampering with it that it became permanent....

I took it home and since I had 1 steel and 1 adamantine, I obviously tried to make a boss out of those and attach it to it, which worked.... to attach it... but it basically has no identity. It just shows up as "Adamantine" or "Steel" no shield, etc.

The Boss can be re-detached at that point and it'll go back to be unnamed entirely. - Usually when it is left unnamed entirely and reload, it changed to copper, where the handles could also be knocked off, but not the rim, and it still wouldn't understand what the shield was

Oh.

_____________

Smelter bug, user error

______

when you toss items into the smelter, they can creater ores, which can be grabbed and dragged out of the smelter if the smelter isn't "up to heat" - They won't generally make ores if the smelter is already cooking at "smelting" heat.

Anyway. If for instance. You have  a STEEL boss that you turn the smelter on for, and while its heating up, take the steel ore out and play around with it. The Smelter will... technically.. break... - It won't finish smelting the ore, that's for sure, and it won't fully shut off, that's for sure, It will likely console the steel ore if you try to put it back, but it won't make anything from it. or even try.

It's hard to say if there's not a way to recover from this user error - But the bug itself of perpetual smelter can be fixed by sticking something else in while it's on.

It'll try and break it down into ores and seems to try and start the heating up process over again, and then will only finish that item, and shut back off.  Thus fixing the smelter bug.

The user error obviously the steel ingot is gone in /that/ scenario - but I do not know if it could be fixed by sticking an ore/item in that the smelter recognizes, and then while its producing that ingot, stick the steel in that it initially started with.- I imagine it might.. but I don't have the option to test that.

__________

I've probably mentioned this before, and assuming I had is the reason I haven't mentioned it again. but just in case.

Something I saw in 0.0.82 was that if the smelter was producing an ingot, the fuel could be turned off, and it would finish producing that one ingot - and then require it to be turned on briefly to produce the next ingot - meaning you could save a minute amount of fuel with the additional tedium of managing the on off switch in timing with the ingots

ores to smelt -> Smelter on till ingot process begins -> Ingot process begins for first ingot -> smelter can be turned off -> Ingot process finishes for first ingot -> Stop -> Smelter toggled quickly on and then immediately off again -> Ingot process begins for next ingot -> Process finish -> stop -> repeat.

______

Not necessarily a bug....

but.. I've yet to see Zinc Ores.... vein or otherwise... do they actually exist? or is only the Brass ingot obtainable and only via that chest...? carbon and the easy one, Tin, exist, very easily so, but Not a single vein seen of zinc, neither in shop nor sandbox.

OH!

well then oh shit!

Turns out the experiment I was about to run on the Sword Pedestal shield was already proven.

Ignore what I said about it needed to be in the shop zone.

Turns out That if you attach a boss to it, It'll tag it with that metal.

the Last boss I attached to it was Steel, so it remained steel looking.

Had I attached the Adamantine to it and been forced to reload, It would've changed the entire thing to adamantine, And I just knocked off the handles as if it was copper/reloaded - and they're steel - which means they could've been two additional free Adamantine ingots had I left it adamantine. - curse my experimenting ways not making adamantine be the final test...

So Now I have two steel handles - the rim and board still aren't reclaimable or anything. and the only reason I figured this out before reloading, was cause I was about to attach Mithril boss to it from the leftover funds from selling Adamantine sword/making pick - see if I could leave the mithril boss attached to it at the pedestal and see if it would "become a shield" on reload.

The boss wouldn't attach. leading me to try and dismantle it again.

When I had the second customer stuck. I went ahead and decided I was going to try in-game New Game - Which before, was causing the game to freeze - Going back to the main menu for any reason after boot-up caused freezing, heck, 1/4th of the times it boots up, it stops, either in fade in or in some other spot.....

But this is just visual proof if you use the 1st day, go and grab the secret chest - Get lucky***** you could make a titanium or mithril boss or something, and boom. a single lucky ingot turns into three.

and I got a Brass ingot as the other item in the chest. Not that the two of them could've equated to the three of these anyway....

I did try leaving the boss on the shield this time around - as it obviously is noticeable above. Clearly did not change anything one way or the other... The reason I wanted to try leaving it on is because it says "Mithril" with it on, but goes back to being (            ) with it off. so I wanted to see if that would somehow affect it becoming a full blown shield or not, or possibly even causing it to delete itself as an error.

of course. Thanks to resmelt - these three little beauts can become a pick or anything a customer might ask for (since I have bronze and they'll at least ask for Adamantine as previously mentioned) (oh, yeah, Totally made hundreds stealing from Geoff. Quite easy once you know how it functions. - I think reloading clears it back to zero, not that it matters ...

I encountered a bug where a customer buys both a weapon and a shield, but after I hand the items to them and they pay for it, they get stuck in front of my store counter.

It has been acknowledged

You can reload to clear that

However.

you could also do one of the following.

  1. Simply send them away. Begone Thot
  2. Ensure they only get ONE of the items. Preferably shield as that is the one that will give the most money and has the least restrictions (usually they don't tell you the metal type, allowing you to sell literally whatever, as long as the form matches)
    1. Once they've got one of the items they've requested - you can send them away, They'll pay for the item they got, They don't really know how to return items and they're not thieves - so again, Shield them up and they'll pay you a pretty penny.
  3. Experiment. See what you can and can't do - maybe you'll find a better answer than others have.
  4. The above, but instead you maybe take the order-time to recheck Ore-veins or go mining, maybe pick up some cheap handles over at Geoffs, and otherwise restock some supplies, chop some trees, get some E-x--p's - etc - THEN.... do whatever you were going to from above.

Got an issue with customers not accepting weapons.
So for example:
Customer wants a (Non specified metal) One Hand hammer with Uncommon Grip and Morning Star Head.
I offer him a requested weapon made of Mythril (as it's best I can afford now), but he doesn't accept it.
Had this issue 3 times with different weapons, but the common is
- Non specified metal
- One handed
- Uncommon grip
- Special request

Note that if a customer doesn't specify metal (like "I need Great Sword") he accepts weapon made of ANY metal under  Mythril and including it.
P.S. As I checked forum a bit, it seems like they might have requested alloys? In that case, as they accept Mythril, they must have requested Steel when no metal type given.

(+2)

Yea if you get non-specific specified grip - Just dismiss them - They're currently no good to you, just a waste of parts (well I mean you'll get exp but yeah)

It seems all alloys are scripted somehow above Titanium, while not quite actually being so.

Example:

If you have an Alloy hammer - any, alloy hammer - Customers will request anything "That hammer or below" - same with any other hammer - But even if its a Brass hammer - You'll get fairly high level requests, possibly even sometimes titanium requests.

But at the same time.

Brass can only mine so much

Bronze can only mine so much

and Steel can mine up to I believe Mithril - Not 100% sure on that - I might have tested and mentioned in a different post, but can't recollect it.

So they act like they're better metals than Titanium

They Perform like they're about what you'd expect from their alloy components

But then after all that.

They Sell like they don't exist yet. - No price seems to be set for them, despite being above titanium seemingly

And then there are times when it would seem like they /do/ have their own specific levels ... Like....

Okay remember I said brass sometimes gets Titanium requests?

Well if they requested "brass" (no specified metal) - despite brass allowing for titanium requests

You wouldn't be able to give them a titanium item.

but as long as they didn't specify grip/head - You could give them anything brass can mine.  <- (I believe, and, that's what it /should/ be. what it can mine is what it can sell and what customers should ask for, nothing more)

Anywho.

If they break into specifics of head/grip - 9/10 of the times, just send them away, they usually not worth the trouble.

Switching to a Mithril/Titanium/Etc hammer may reduce the number of "blank" requests you get - This is both a blessing and a curse - as a nonspecific-unspecified request can be milked for all the possible coins - and sometimes the requests you want can be few and far inbetween. - and of course, the thing we were just talking about is the curse.

Thanks for a reply.

Btw steel mines up to Mythril and not Titanium, not sure about Adamantine. Bronze mines up to Iron. Dunno about brass, as I've never found Zink in here. Does it even exist?

Oh I know they  alloy picks don't mine up to Titanium - but the Alloy hammers cause Customers to Buy up to Alloy - which believes itself to be higher than Titanium.

I don't think Zinc ore actually exists, At least, I haven't found it yet either - but Brass Ingots can be found at random - There's a specific spot on the map that has a chance of generating 2 grips, 1 grip 1 random any ingot, or 2 ingots (any)  - Every reload. - There's a chance to get titanium steel etc. - literally any ingot.

I tried to clarify that I think - That The Picks can only mine up to a very limited seemingly accurate level - Like That's what allll the levels should be.

But the Hammer cause Customers to pop in asking for everything under the sun. - though It doesn't always let you sell titanium to the "Blank" (no metal type) orders. - which I assume means that not every "blank" is the same and not every alloy will "accept" titanium - Like I would assume Brass wouldn't, but even though Steel can't mine titanium, steel seems to be able to accept titanium - And both brass and steel hammers would allow customers to ask for titanium, specifically.

Well i'm running version 0.0.9c 64 bit but when i prebuild a lets say a one handed sword and restart the game i can't sell it anymore.  I have tried to prebuild something and than selling it without restarting the game and that works so yeah. I hope you fix it, it would make me very happy. :)
My pc is running a intel i5 6500, a asus r9 290 dc2 oc 4g d5, and 16 gb of ram.

(1 edit)

It's a known persisting glitch from the previous version, there's a few bugs from previous build that haven't been solved yet, and some that were solved, or thought to be, and have managed to weasel back in other ways

edit

As the previous version had it suggested as well - I recommend organizing your shop to house tool-heads/parts and grips ready to be finished rather than pre-assembled so that you do not run into this issue of item's "breaking"

Do not. However.

Construct a Wood Shield part and keep it on hand.

On Reload - Shields not only break like items

but the wood part tends to become solid, and once that happens, it is useless - May not always happen, but won't ever happen if you wait to do the wood part last

thanks for the reply and I will make sure not to let shieldparts lay lying around

1. Im running 0.0.9 Version

2. Sometimes happens when i place the Tin ingots on the anvil im clicking and the hammer just dont want to do what is he used for.

5. Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-5005U CPU @ 2.00GHz  2.00 GHz

4.00 GB RAM Memory

64-bit Operating System

Nvidia geforce 920m

Did you forget to choose what type of equipment u want to build by pressing Z? (or maybe u changed it)

i changed it. By the way i saved the game and exited cuz it didnt worked to the main menu so thanks on the comment

Now idk what to do because i have like 40 silver and the customers still want from me copper im 10 lvl and i have 30 days sleeped(in-game)

To start you'll need a new hammer (almost) every time you get to a new metal - Customer buy what your hammer level is or cheaper - Alloys are an exception, which unlock all metals (seemingly)

Additionally. if You're trying to hit heated ingots on the anvil and its not connecting or it is but its not making the right item associated with the right number of ingots, Then something may be in the way of the anvil, or, the anvil may have accidentally swallowed a heated ingot at some point or encountered a hiccup where it assumes it has.

I don't readily know ways to fix this - But you can try taking a pole grip and swishing it around inside the anvil, then removing it from the area, or using your crates near the anvil and seeing if you get a reaction that allows you to close it, and then trying to pull it away.

If you know you have a bunch of objects near the anvil, Simply first try clearing the space of these objects, An item may not even appear close enough to the anvil to count, but in reality, its hitbox/connection triggers are actually in the way and you just can't see it (possibly)

Then the next time you put up ingots open the radial and ensure the correct Group is /possible/ even if it is selected.

You'll see "Large Blades" for example if you have 3 heated ingot on the anvil and go to select blades.

If you see "Large blades" and only have 2 ingots on there - The anvil must assume there's another despite there not being. (Again, Aside from fishing around into a solid object, I don't really know what to do here)

If you have 3 on there and only see "normal" or "Small" - then something is blocking the Anvil from reacting properly to the other ingots. - Example - If an item is sitting ontop of one of the ingots - The anvil will not react properly. This is a readily apparent example - But It's possible a grip could be near by and causing an issue too, even not being near the top of the anvil.

Thank you Kurzidan for the comment this really helps me

By the way when i sell shields people are stucking in the blacksmith shop

I dunno if you've seen other posts yet where this was addressed, but

My Recommendation on Customers asking for shields is to only provide them with a shield, or only with a weapon, and not both.

The game can be saved after they pay and you can reload to clear stuck npcs away - but - If you only give them one or the other, and not both, you can simply dismiss the customer with the X button that you see when looking at them, and they will pay for whatever you gave them.

I assume, while it isn't verified as I don't really know code and haven't really seen it.

That its essentially an issue with how new the change is - More than likely, The Customer is told to "Wait for item" - normally - This would be "satisfied with weapon/item" and they would leave - however a customer asking for item and shield is told "Wait for items" and when they take one they are reinstructed to continue waiting for the other item....

But then they get the other item, and they're reinstructed again, to wait for the other item (which they already have)

While at the same time, they've accomplished "Wait for items" - and thus, begin to "clear out" - Thus their order and X button disappear like they're about to leave, they pay out, but then realize they've been order to "Wait for the other item"

By this time "The other item" is "Null" "N/A" because they have no Order/request - OR - Even if it remembers the other item is "This" - Their request is already "completed" and they no longer can "update" from "waiting" even if they can verify they have the other item.

Either way, They become stuck, indefinitely, because the order is gone, there is no timer, and no X, they can't accept items, because there's either no items that fit their order, which is to say, no order, -- or -- They already have both items, and know they've already accepted it, so they can't take all your iron swords in a single trip to the shop and only pay for one kinda logic.

Anywho. Point being.

If you have only for example

Copper and no Tin.

Sell them the shield - and then dismiss them for the profit of the shield - which is the most profit you can earn "on tier", I believe.

If you have for example - an Alloy hammer, and they request for example, Mithril, but you yourself only own 1-3 adelite ingots and 7 iron ingots - Then if you have enough to give them an Adelite version of the weapon they requested - you'll get more money, so give them that instead, and then dismiss them.

If they instead request "Mithril greathammer - with a (quality) grip...." - Just Dismiss them. unless You can give whatever weapon they're requesting. - As for the Shield, I dunno, You might still be able to give them a shield, but It'd probably be easier to just dismiss them.

When I downloaded the new version my character is tilted, pleeeease help me!

Either new game - or download Slipcor's Character reset - its for version 0.0.82 but I can confirm that it does actually seem to work for 9... Only the character position one though, The horse one will not work since it doesn't exist in 9

Also. If you set the in-game resolution to your desktop resolution, and then select window mode, you'll be able to take screenshots with the print screen key and paste them into Paint and upload them to whatever photo site you fancy using.

The game won't play much different than if you were to have it fullscreen, aside from the difference of Fullscreen = black screen print screen - and Window = visible print screen.

Hey, Whenever an NPC asks for 2 seperate items, it wont go away once I have given it the items. Any idea what to do? im playing in 0.0.9

(+1)

Dasius has been recommending people to simply finish the trade, get the money, then save and reload - this will clear their temporary spawn data

I recommend only selling them one item, and then sending them away.

Make sure they only accept either the weapon, or the shield, and then send them away. - They aren't familiar with "returning" items- and will always pay for what they've taken before leaving - Likely set in place because someone may not finish making the second item before time is up-  So the customer still has to pay when they walk off.

Most of the time - a shield will be the choice, as it is 5 ingots worth of value.

But sometimes you may discern that it is more profitable to do the weapon - In cases where you have 1-3 next tier ingots (Only applies if you have an Alloy Hammer or next tier hammer already made and are just waiting to make a sale in the next tier.)

Alright, thanks for the detailed answer.

With the new Update (0.0.9q), I noticed a few issues. Now I don't know if it is intended but, I notice I can sell tin or better items over copper. With the new "Alloy" system I thought this would be a "inbetween" tier of quality for frogded metals. Well, I made a sword and a greatsword (bronze), but to my dismay, I could not sell them to the customer. (only copper.) Now, I Figure in the future that all customers will have radom but specific wants and needs for goods Like copper swaords). Perhaps a few willing to pay extra for a better than "minimal" quality request, but I am getting off topic. So I have a stack of Bronze ignots with no idea how to profit off them. What role does "alloys" play in this build? Also, there is a glitch with sheild customers not leaving after paying for their last good. Now I can work around by saving the game, go back to main menu and reload the game. (but that cutomer kinda "ends" the day in the game.) I don't know if it's a glitch, but I can't sell pre-built weapons etiher. (they have to be made in view?) Besides all that, good job on adding new content, even if a new  can of worms comes with it. But hey, thats alpha games in a nutshell. New features, new problems.

-Thank you for the help, great game.  Sincerely, Scott.

In order to sell items - You need to have a hammer.

What you start with is copper hammer - you sell only copper.

If you make a tin hammer - you sell tin and copper.

If you make a Titanium hammer - you sell any metal in the game.

There's a bit of a "WIP" here though - Due to Alloys being so new.

Brass (Haven't found zinc, but Brass ingots can be obtained for a certain place on the map)

Bronze

And Steel

All will unlock selling more advanced metals than what you currently have.

They will /at least/ ask upwards of Mithril - but it's possible that all 3 alloys will have customers ask all the way up to titanium - The alloy hammers seem to be registered "Above all other metals"

The Alloy picks work seemingly as intended - Brass Pick will only mine up to a certain level - Bronze up to Adelite I believe, maybe only Iron - Steel will mine up to Mithril

Customers that request Alloys (don't exist) - except they technically do - When You have an Alloy Hammer, you'll occassionally have a customer come in asking for "Blank" tool/weapon - No specific Metal is given.

They're actually Asking for Brass, Bronze, Or Steel, At least, they seem to be.

Depending on what they're asking for, You may be able to sell them anything under the sun.

If they're asking for Steel (Seemingly) they'll accept Anything.

If they're Asking for Bronze (Seemingly) they won't accept titanium but eventually they will accept /something/ you can give them, and above Copper.

Brass has the worst options - Seemingly being restricted to Tin or Copper only.

If the Customer asks for "Blank" Tool  "Specific Grip/Tool head" - Send them away.

They will only give you exp and be worthless to you. - They will only accept whatever they are asking for, which you cannot hope to fulfill, and even if you managed to fill the order - Alloys are So new, They have no value registered, So they sell for nothing.

It's possible that there's a bit of mixed signals here - and that the "Blanks" are what is supposed to be the "alloys" and the "Alloys" are "separate" thus if you ACTUALLY sold a "Blank" - you'd "actually" sell that specific alloy and actually make a profit - but because "Alloy" somehow is separate and has no price - you sell "Blank" instead..... if that made sense...

Anywho.

Customers will buy what is in their price range - Unless - They specify extensions. - in which case they will /only/ accept what they asked for.

Example

A Customer asks for a Mithril Greathammer.

You can give him an Iron Greathammer, No problem.

You cannot give him an Adamantine or Titanium Greathammer - As these are more expensive.

If a Customer asks for a Mithril Greathammer with a common grip and a large hammer head

You must give him a Mithril Greathammer - The grip/head I believe is negotiable, with the loss of a specificity bonus (10%) - but it /must/ be Mithril.

If you only have an Iron Hammer equipped - They will only buy Iron, Tin, Or copper, Never will they ask for something "More expensive" than your hammer - which is what makes Alloys "Oddities"

im currently trying to play 0.0.9 but i still cant make any handles for my shields i have made the wooden shield added the rim and the boss but i just keep producing bosses every time i try and make the handles, i have tried leaving the boss off the shield and then making the handles but that didnt work either, i also have never been able to make a pickaxe head it just wont be made i have tried playing sandbox and using the recipe of 3 bars over and over but i just keep getting a great hammer.

thanks

The Boss, Wrist Grim, and hand Grip are all on the same Menu.....

It's like Making a Pick axe on Large Axe heads.......oh....

wait....

You've never made a pickaxe either nevermind.

Okay.

PickAXE is an Axe, You take 3 heated ingots, all of the same metal, and open the drop menu to axe heads which will read Large Axe I believe if you have 3 detected heated ingots on the anvil.

Strike it until you get a large axe head, and then strike it again and you'll change it to a pickaxe head.

To SELL Pickaxes, You'll need a 2h grip attached to the head

To USE one, You can make it with 1h grip, 2h grip, and I believe, still polegrip as well. - They can be stolen, the blacksmith won't care and use it all the same

Stolen items cannot be sold.

To create Shield grips, You hit a boss a 2nd and 3rd time

After about 4-6 hits, You get a Shield Boss, Another hit gives you the wrist enarmes I believe, and then the next hit gives you hand enarmes. - You'll need 3 Ingots in total to have all 3, and will need all three plus the Shield rim (total of 5 ingots) to complete a shield, and they must all be matching metal, at least for now.

for Shield rim - also, The Rims appear in the order you see them on the woodworking table - Heater heater round heater heater heater tower etc

Just like with Every blade's alternate form, or switching from axe to pickaxe - you'll have to hit the rim once for every change.

so 4-6 hits and you get heater 1, it won't fit perfectly on the anvil - hit it again and you'll get heater 2 - which will quite likely fall off, depending on if it stayed in the anvil area or flew off into the grass will depend on if you can immediately smack it again to make a round rim, or if you have to pick it up and place it back on the anvil.

to get round shield you'll use about 7 or so hits - Tower will be around 10. Heater is easy since usually they won't ask for a specific number, allowing you to just make Heater 1 and be done with it.

You cannot use Mace/morning star head as personal Hammer

You can sell any small hammer head (including mace/morning star) as a 1h hammer

You can make any blade into a Polearm, Large, normal or Small. - they will make polearms and can only be sold to polearm requests, keep that in mind.

You can sell 1h-grip+ small axe head

You can USE 1h or 2h grip + small axe head (stolen or not) for the Blacksmith's Personal axe, same with the hammer.

Thanks mate didnt even think to try that, You didnt have to be so condescending though i accidentally said hammer rather than axe, thanks none the less.

I hadn't realized I came off as condescending, on the "accidentallly hammer than axe" section - I originally was going to just compare it to making a Pickaxe, then as I was rereading the statement I realized you were saying you hadn't been able to make one of those either and instead of going back I just started off by describing where to look to make a pickaxe and then how to make one, as well as additional variants for other items....

Any capitalization, bold, and/or italics is only really meant to stress the word/separation.

For Example

The player can make any pickaxe and "use" it- Equip it.

But They can't just sell any old pickaxe, It has to specifically be a 2h grip to give the notification of item creation, and thus have customers able to accept it.

It wasn't meant for anything else.

@Dasius

Every time when customer want weapon and SHIELD, after when i will get him that he will not leave. He stuck also when time runs out dont leave also when u close and open shop.

(+1)

Sell them one or the other for now, That's the easiest, stay in session, approach.

Hand them either the weapon or the shield and then dismiss them.

Or

You can save and reload when they're stuck after selling them both, but some items may need to be reassembled as a result of doing that, or become unsellable (certain things like the wood part of a shield, when not attached to anything else, become useless on reload)

I CANT PLAY  THE GAME NEEDS VSYNC

Hey BioRage,

try the new update.

They haven't been deleted just moved to accommodate some of the changes to the map.

I cannot bind the arrow keys when I try to change the controls.

Hey Brineless,

Will have to look into why arrow keys are not bindable.

Thank you ! It's actually a little bit annoying because I'm a lefty

Sometimes, when a customer comes in to buy something, it plays the sound that they make when they request something, but as soon as they arrive, they just disappear with the dismiss button hanging in the air to the left, unable to be clicked.

Might be related to what I've got in my shop, so, if it is, I've got three copper bars and one tin bar, along with one of each common grip and guard.

Hey TheEnemyCube,

We are investigating this issue, thank you!

I've Been Playing This For A While (Few Months After Appeared On Itch.io) And I'm Currently In Version 0.0.9 And I Haven't Been Playing Since Veins Was In Sandbox (I Can't Remember What Version It Was) I Have Made An Axe But I Can't Select it To My Tool Bar. Can Someone Please Help Me How to do This?

Developer

Hey Oblisk234,

Try rebinding your keys in the options menu.  Otherwise, not quite sure why you can't select it. What happens when you press the corresponding key for the axe? Also, are you able to switch to the other tools in your belt?

Alright found a newish bug related to the recent updates....

I have a customer asking for a Zinc One hand hammer.... Zinc is non-refinable, so there's no Zinc Ingot to make a Zinc one hand hammer with... I tested (wasted) some zinc to ensure this was still the case.

Dunno how Zinc would become requestable, maybe it was miscommunication when adding in requests for alloys, maybe it was a necessary evil to get the system to logically accept prices and requests for alloys, I dunno. But it's there.

He's listed as a "Novice" stone mason.. so I mean... I would assume I could still pawn a copper mace on him... but. I don't really have any copper currently on hand unless I go outta my way to by it...and then I'd just use it to make brass... which is actually worth a bit more than tin xD

Developer

Thanx Kurzidan,

We'll fix the issue.

  2.  Sometimes when fulfilling orders an NPC will stand in the shop and not leave/ take a while to leave. I've personally had this happen with the Jacksepticeye npc (not sure if that really matters) and the second time it happened I looked past him and out where the customer NPCs spawn, I saw what looked to be about 20 of them just standing stock still. When I started approaching them the Jack npc stuck in my store despawned (I assume it was the default despawn timer that would normally pull the npc off the map as they walked away timing out and despawning him automatically) after I walked towards them every npc that was stuck standing at the spawn just started to leave town.
  3. I only recorded a gif because it wasn't until they started moving that it occurred to me to document it: https://gyazo.com/b2b25bdd7f6671f1613a40a9d8e55d48
  4. Not really sure what is causing it, but it happened when the npc customer was locked after i sold them something, when I opened the game I loaded my save, went and opened the store, the customer just appeared at the counter, I completed the order (copper polearm and shield, last time he froze in place it was a copper dagger) and upon handing him the polearm (already had the shield pre-made by accident) he stood with no dialogue bubble. It was near night time and when I went to save and relaunch I saw the crowd of NPCs over his shoulder.

Hey Arretey

Thanx for the bug report. These are weird issues.

Is it only me getting crates that don't show the option to close?
I grabbed it and was heading for the mine, then the option appeared. I said to myself that I can open it in the cave, no reason to do it in an open useless field. But when I went in the cave, there was no option of closing/opening crate.

Crates can only be opened or closed with objects residing inside of them, Certain objects are "bad" however and do not fully sit inside the crate - You should not try to have something locked inside a crate that is larger than the crate as a result of this. It can result in "problems"

There's also an issue of "Something" in the "air" triggering the ability to close a crate.

resist doing so, This is a fool's choice.

It may become hard to open the crate later since nothing but air is inside of it, and it may even start to exhibit gravity issues, Spirally away from your hand in odd ways, or floating around like a crystal.

under normal circumstances though, You won't be able to open or close it if nothing is in it, the prompt appears (generally) when you put ore into it (as that's its most common use) and will remain present as long as items are inside it

If you must carry something bigger than the crate, ensure something smaller than the crate is also inside the crate, in a fairly central location, as it can be pushed to the limits if not.

Wow, thanks for that explanation. Didn't expect the game is at THAT early stage.
However I get back to it every time i get back from work. I remember few years ago I was wondering when someone's gonna make Blacksmith Simulator - and voille'a! Here we go.
Thanks Kurzidan!

Deleted 1 year ago

That happens to me as well. Break the shield on anvil and assemble again. If that doesn't work trie to make a new wooden part.

Woorked for me.

The Chimney has a visual glitcch if you stand on top of the roof. (Don't know if next is bug) You can throw a chest all the way across the map if you flick your mouse when holding it and release halfway.

O.o you really shouldn't be able to throw something across the map in the 9's versions... everytime I've thrown something they've hit an invisible threshold and "hung" in the air (kills their momentum) - Once I walk towards it, the "threshold" moves, the item, falls - free from "hanging"...

I suppose I haven't tried with old or new crate... but ores, ingots, and Logs all stop midair before they go skyrocketing away.

Although. I've never attempted throwing things from very high up on the map, like from the roof, if that's what you mean.

Perhaps the "threshold" only triggers if you're on the ground. I wouldn't know since I've not tried.

It only works with closed lid crates and bought crates from the parts shop.

1. I don't get the Quality "minigame" when pressing shift(or ctrl) when Pickaxe is heated.

2. Colors on screen has become "bleek", wooden textures are now pink-ish

3. when I installed first time it tried to download files for DirectX 2.5? I think :S and it aborted when unable, is this why I have problems?

Thnx!

So the "bleak Colors" might be a settings issue.

I tried the x32 version on my x64 win10. It didn't solve any problems but it created a few :P

I'm still unable to get  the "minigame" to work so I guess the INT-stat is a waste for the time being.

You need to hold Ctrl while hammering the heated ingots I think, not sure, and maybe also some points in intelligence?

I have tried to place all points in INT and hammering while press in CTRL, noting happens.

Developer

Right now, the implementation isn't complete so you won't see much result.

Developer

Hey Geledin,

1. Implementation isnt finished for the minigame. It was more as a proof of concept. Further iterations of it will be done further in the year.

2. That might not be the game and might be a graphics card issue or monitor.

3. I don't think any graphics card to date uses Direct X 2.5 but in the event you are using a very old graphics card, you migh tnot be able to run this game as it requires Direct X 11 or more.  If you don't have the latest Direct X drivers then you might have problems running the game. But obviously, that isn't your issue. If you are having trouble with Direct X installation or updates, you should probably contact Microsoft or go over to their forums and ask for help as I unfortunately do not have the knowledge or qualifications to help you. :)

Version 0.0.9 Alpha

If you stand ontop of your shield you can fly. Also when you fly off the map the game crashes. AI's don't want to take Bronze tools if they ask for copper but are completely fine with Adalite. Inside the castle, you can walk through the models after you fly over the walls. In the mine, you can stand ontop of the rocks and get a visual glitch, see YT video for this.

Whenever you stand ontop of a shield, then right click it to pick it up, you can go flying across the map.

Intel i7 7700k, GeForce GTX 1070 2x, DDR4 8GB 2x, 128 GB PCI-E Gen3 SSD.

EDIT: The shield flying glitch only works if you first destroy it on the anvil and place it back together on the table. It also only works with the stone shield findable at in the woods.

In the video you say that you haven't  found a way to glitch in to the mine. Do you mean the door? The one in the mine? Because I discovered today that the door is open during the darkest part of the night,  when your lantern are least effective (need medium settings to see this)

Thank you, I'll try this and I'm going to find more glitches.

Do you also know when the other door opens? The one near the lake?

I would guess that they all open at the same time...trying it out as I'm writing...

wow!...so,  I was standing at the door close to the lake at "the darkest hour". The door, along with the crate I had disappeared in the dark,  just gone. I followed the mountain wall towards the mine. There is a place right up against the wall that looks like a texture glitch,  like a piece of terrain is missing. I walked in to it, fell through the world -or so I thought- and landed at the alter in the church!! :O

(1 edit)

the door do not disappear,  I got turned around. It would seem that the door close to the lake does not open at all. I stood in front of it for 24hours (in game).

(+2)

I don't know how the upgrading works, can't find it out either, I literally pressed every button while hammering.

And yes, there is a piece of terrain missing there, I'm going to make an update video soon on all the glitches, problems and texture/terrain fails. Because I found something in the church, some thing(s) in the area's that are currently unaccessable. I will inculde them but since they are not supposed to be open yet it doesn't really matter. there are quite some visual glitches possible that need fixing though.

I just hope that Dasius will actually see it...

Developer

Thanx Grimalkin for the bug report

When i sold to the AI it then stand still and wont get out of my shop. Windows 10, 64bit

Developer(+1)

Hey mamaminha,

For this version, you'll need to restart the game to fix this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

alpha version, 0.0.9e

theres one bug that if you steal something from the other shop in the town it says (stolen) but if i log out and log in again its mine and not stolen anymore?

Developer

Thanx Lolmanle.

Will look into that.

The game runs just fine in the beginning but when I get to day 5-6 I get terrible framerate, have anyone else had this problem ? (seems to get better when I restart the game) running 0,0,9e

Developer

Thanx Shadowhunter512512,

Will look into why that is happening.

0.0.9e have had an issue with people just walking up and turing invisible, the dismiss cross is still visible but I cant press it,

Hi,

I have problem with selling shields. When come somebody who need shield and I make it, he don´t take him.

My performance: Windows 10, RAM 16GB, Intel core CPUCan´t sell heater shield

(2 edits)

Have you tried adding the fourth piece (round piece, sorry don't know the name)?

It would look like the shield has a big circle in the middle

Yes, I try it, but nothing was heppened.

For an item to be accepted by a customer you must see a notification in the bottom corner of the screen saying "You created (item)"

There's 5 ingots worth of parts for a shield, the boss, the two handles, and the rim

I don't know entirely, but Try not to create a wood piece and/or combine the wood piece and a rim, and then save and reload - at minimum, the wood piece will break and be unusable, and I dunno on the combined rim/wood, Afaik, a fully assembled shield will be fine

Developer

Also you can't give higher or better tier items to customers that ask for a lower tier item. So if the customer asks for Copper, you can't give them Tin. However, if they ask for Tin, you can give them a Copper item but not Iron as it is better then Tin. Etc..

Are you not supposed to be able to give any shield?

Then that may be a bug. I constantly gave out shields all willy nilly whenever the opportunity arose to sell a customer a ridiculously high-tier shield even though they were only asking for really low tier.. even been telling people of this possibility, (Not the weapon, The weapon follows what you said and I've been repeating that too, that its can be tier or lower)

Additionally.

You can only give "any tier that is lower" if they're vague

If for instance we look at the pic, and they instead asked for a tin polearm, no extra specification, You can give them any polearm that is tin or copper.

But if they ask for a Tin Polearm with a (something something) small blade and an uncommon grip

They will ONLY accept Tin.

Shields ignore this afaik, at least right now, in 9e

Also I have a few bucks in Paypal if you wanna tell me which choice fits best for that, donate or pay-to-buy, or not Itchio, or whatever.
can't be a patron thing, thou.

Developer

Glad you mentioned that. Those customers that ask for a more specific request are considered "Special Customers". What they are asking for needs to be met. You can't give them anything higher or lower or something that is similar. Needs to be exact

Ya shields will get another check on its functions to make sure it's working properly.

If you can't via Patreon then through Itch.io is fine as well. Thank you!

Hello,

It's a problem with the physics in the game, you can fly by standing on an object and then (try) to pick it up. I tried to pick up a shield and it send me flying ( was fun ;p ).

there is one side of a wall missing in the cave (one side doesn not exist) and some in places items can go trough the floor or wall.

If I crouch under a tree My vision gets blurred out sometimes.

My pc won't save my screenshots so I can't show you what I mean, I'm sorry.

Love the game and I hope to see more of it!

ps: shield-surfing should just be the normal form of transportation ;p

IIf you're having trouble recording or screenshotting the game, Try running it in window mode at screen-resolution

From my experience, the game runs borderless and priority, so running it window works perfectly fine in comparison to fullscreen with it at your desktop's resolution

Me personally again, cannot take screenshots unless I run it in window. Fullscreen just comes up black

That said, The Shield and some other physics items still "flying" are known, its not as prevalent or easy as before this recent version, though.

The trees aren't the only thing that can blur you, if you manage to get your eyes too close to anything, they can become that way, its just easiest with trees that are solid because of size and solidity

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hey Diamorr,

Thanx for the bug report. Will look into the missing walls and floor issues.
The reason that is happening, with the trees, is because most likely "View Depth of Field" is turned on in your graphic settings. Turning that off should eliminate that problem.

Thank you for the info!

Developer

No problem.

(1 edit)

Near the castle (opposite of the stable) you are able to get under the map, the ground is open.

And I'm not shure if the horse is supposed to follow, but it doesn't.

great game! keep up the good work.

(+1)

as for the horse.

The horse is currently disabled for being a naughty bad horse :< He broke a bunch of people's spines and forced them to crawl slowly in the ground and kicked their things sky high into the air and then spat on them as he decided to soar away and scoff at our ideas of physics and gravity. It's planned to eventually come back, I think... when its not so psychopathic.

I ain't afraid of no horse, I'll be playing the game without being scared of the psychotic horse :)

I love the game so far, but I can't seem to go to bed when the time comes. I click on the bed but nothing happens.

Hey man, I really love this game! I love how it's coming along, but I do have a few bugs I've found that you could probably look into, some big some small. I'm using My Little BlackSmith Shop Win64 Alpha-v0.0.9e. After reading through this, some of them are kind of just changes to the game that could make it better. (By the way, I did notice that the first reply I saw on this at the top was about a year ago, which made me think it was abandoned :P).

1. When re-loading the game, the pedestal in the forest near the mine entrance that you put the weapon into screws up a little. The weapon disappears and you're forced to make a new one and more and more unneeded earth crystals appear the air over each other. The same goes for the chests in the world too, which means you can continuously re-load your game just to exploit the chests that give high-value ingots.

2. Chests are a little too frustrating to open using the grab function to push (or pull) it open, maybe put in an animation for opening it instead?

3. When you use an axe to cut down trees, they act a little...weird. When the tree is cut off from the stump, it doesn't collide with the stump making it fall through and hit the ground instead. And when it falls over, it usually hits a tree and sits still and spins on the spot, which can trigger a 'flying tree' bounce if you're lucky (the wacky collision causes it to launch a short distance).

4. When creating a shield, you have to make the metal rim/outline for the shield you want, but when shaping the shields, the first two heater shield rims are fine, but then they struggle to stay on the anvil after that. Maybe it's caused by the new objects spawning slightly inside the anvil, causing them to bounce off.

5. The shield rim has complete surrounding collision, in other words the big, gaping hole in the middle of the rim doesn't allow items to fall through. This isn't that big of an issue but it would be good to fix to logic's sake. I noticed this when creating a shield, I put the rim on the crafting bench first, then the other metal things (Hadn't made the wood part yet) and instead of sitting in the middle of the rim, they just slid off onto the ground, and that makes 'em dirty and stuff :| (EDIT: This only appears to be a problem with the Tower Shield Rim).

6. I had a moment when I completed everything I needed to do and could do or else I wouldn't gotten tired and not been able to go anywhere fast enough, so I went to the bed, but I wasn't yet tired, so I had to wait there for a while before it let me go to bed. Maybe you could put in a thing where you could go to sleep, like, 8 hours or so later after you wake up so you don't have to wait to be tired to go to sleep, but it's not too short of a time so you don't sleep over and over again.

7. Another thing that happened was that I had a customer and I completed everything they wanted, I got their name on the sales board, got the money and everything, but he was still standing there for some reason, like he wanted a kiss or something. This happens rarely, it may be my computer but it's worth mentioning. (EDIT: Check the replies to see more about it).

8. When you move around an item, it still has complete collision with everything, but when you put it in rotation, it loses all collision, making it possible to unintentionally get it stuck in the walls or ground by rotating it. (EDIT: The rotating problem only seems to happen on static objects, such as the walls, ground, anvil, furnace, crafting table etc. but still collides with dynamic objects like ingots, crates and so on).

9. Also a rotating issue, when you rotate an item and finish rotating and are still holding in the grab button, it floats there in mid-air but you can't move it by mouse or force, you can even look away from it and it will still be sitting there in that one spot in the air. Only when you let go of the grab button does it fall on the ground again.

10. When combining items on the crafting bench, do you drop the item on the other to combine them or do you hold the item you want to connect to the corresponding part you want it to connect to? I really don't know. In other words, combining grips to the guards don't register properly and take longer than they should to connect, which wastes time. After connecting those two though, the blade snaps on quickly as it should. A solution to this, which is only a suggestion, is to make a new way of connecting them. You hold the item you want to connect, then you look at the item you want to connect it to and left click to snap them together, over the crafting bench of course. (EDIT: After testing some more, I found out that it may only be an issue if the grip, guard and weapon head is on the crafting table at the same time. Without the weapon head, the grip and guard seem to snap just fine).

11. When completing the combination for the vault door at the end of the mine, why do you have to spin the middle so many times?

12. I had an issue when diving in water. Logically, the higher you dive from, the lower you go, and that's what I just happen to do, but instead of bobbing back to the water's surface, I must've passed some sort of barrier that allows you to swim without falling to the bottom and I fell all the way to the bottom, but the ground wasn't solid so I fell through and re-spawned at the church. Maybe what you could do is look around all the areas of the lake and make sure whatever mechanic you have there works right, and make the bottom of the lake solid just in case of it happening again.

13. Speaking of which, can you make certain items float in the water? Like make ingots fall slowly downwards because they're heavy, but if it's a crate and/or there's items inside, it should float on the water's surface and so on. I've had many a time where I've accidently dropped an item while swimming and it's become lost to the depths of Davey Jones locker.

14. The cliff-sides are climbable. I mean the ones that stop you from going outside the world boundaries. Trust me I did it, I even climbed onto the cliff walls around the castle to see the unbuild wackiness that is the castle. Maybe go over the barriers for the walls to make sure no one climbs up them and gets themselves stuck in a hole or finds anything they're not supposed to.

15. The ore veins don't update themselves when you're not near them, so after the period of time they require to change their type, they don't change until you're about 5~ metres in front of it (Note: I'm sure this ONLY happens when they're set to change). This is really annoying as I see it, think I can mine it, but then it turns out to be something I can't mine when I get to it (I have my render distance set to far, which is the second highest view distance). (EDIT: This may be a post processing or other issue I'm not aware of, I'm not fully sure).

So that's about all I have found for now for bugs and other improvements that could be made. I'm sure you already have a lot on your plate currently, but did you not say "*Don't hold back, I can take it :) **" Remember that some of these things may only be my computer being wack on the game, so don't go pulling hair out if you can't find what I'm talking about.

Windows 10, 4.00GB RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM) 1.90 GHz Processor, 64-bit  x64-based (Yes, I am using the Win64 version).

(+1)

Also, I got some pictures on the person not leaving after you give them what they want. It turns out that if you move to about the point where I am in the second picture outside, they leave the shop, even if the door is closed or the shop is open/closed. Plus, this happens most with me when I re-load the save, and they're the first person to arrive when you open the shop.

(+1)

Oh boy, bug report 2.0. In the last 2 days I found a whole lot more bugs and things I'm sure shouldn't be happening. I'm still using the same version My Little BlackSmith Shop Win64 Alpha-v0.0.9e.

1. When the customers ask for shields and (lets say you use an uncommon log to make the wood part dark) after you give them the created shield, the wood becomes the common log colour and the shield type changes to a Coal like dark (which is probably Titanium); that includes the rim, boss, wrist and handle being that colour, however the weapon as far as I know stays the same as what you give them.

2. You can put a corner or a crate inside another crate, which then you can close the crate and the other crate will be locked in place, which means you can hold 2 crates full of ores or other things at the same time (Attached Image).

3. Your arm has the same texture as the bricks do...why and how (Attached Image).

4. Ore Veins have a chance to drop you 1 ore, please make them drop at least 3. This doesn't feel good (Attached Image).

5. The blur issue people have been having occurs when you're inside something your not supposed to be in, like a wall that's not completely solid for example. This blur only occurs if your Post Processing option in the Graphics Menu isn't turned to Low, if it's anything but low, you will get the blur effect. I've seen people talk about how they go under trees and they also get the blur, it's because under some of the trees is considered a spot you're not supposed to be (I've taken the spot that Grimalkin used in his video for this test) (Attached Images).

6. When rotating a crate, the rotation point is the centre bottom, so when you try to turn it upside down on level ground it will rotate into the ground. For this all you have to do is lift the centre rotation point to the centre of the crate.

7. When creating large amounts of alloys at once in the furnace, the furnace doesn't properly register that all of them are being created as alloys. I found this out when I had 5 Copper ore and 5 Tin ore and I put them in all at once, and in return I got: 4 Bronze ingots (Supposed to get 10), 4 Copper ingots, and no Tin ingots (Supposed to get neither of those two). It appears that when it made the Copper ingots, there was no Bronze being made for those ones, so Tin ingots should've come out too. But the indicator, or the molten metal rising in the ingot shaper, went to full (which I assume was the Tin ingots being made) but then went back down to nothing and continued to do so for the next 3-4 ingots without producing anything. So in summary, putting in bulk amounts of the 2 ores to make alloys doesn't work properly and screws up the processing system. (Note: I was only making alloys, I DID NOT have anything else in there at the same time that was creating something else).

8. (This has already been said multiple times, but for clarification) Having any solid objects being put underneath the player character and following to grab it makes you ascend into the air.

9. (This has also been said before, but from my point of view) I had a moment where a customer came in and as soon as he was about to order, he disappeared but the cross was still there, but un-clickable. To get out of this, you can either reload or go into sandbox mode and back. Considering the fact that I'm on day 67 (I think) and this was the first time it happened WHEN I decided to put an axe and two shields perhaps a little too close to the selling bench, I also had a delivery crate near it too but it may have not contributed to this issue, this is not coincidental.

10. The lighting of the entrance to the cave is odd at a certain time of day. When slightly outside the lighting was fine, but when I moved slightly inside the mine, the lighting went really dark. I even went back outside to test if it didn't suddenly turn night, and it lit back up as normal, proceeding to go back in made it look like night again (Attached Images; use the crate as a reference for distance).

11. The Steel Alloy Ingots have the same coloured name as the Adamantine Ingots, implying that they are both Legendary items, but when creating a Steel Pickaxe it had the same properties as an uncommon tool, because it couldn't mine anything epic or higher, only common and uncommon ore veins (I don't know if this has something to do with the type of Hammer you're using, as you can see I'm still using the Copper Hammer 'cause I haven't bothered upgrading). Maybe change the colour shown for steel to match their correct properties, or make steel have the same properties as adamantine (I'm using the colour of the name to match the rarity, which in turn makes me think which ones they should be able to mine).

12. Trees also have a chance to drop no logs. Either that or when the tree gets cut and falls through the stump, and doesn't fall over, destroying it like that may make a log spawn inside the stump making it impossible to grab.

13. When on the roof, you can look at the back of the chimney, which isn't there because it's a one-sided view, so from one side you can see it, but from the other side you can't.

14. I think dynamic objects launch too far than what they should, like when I have items inside a crate and I don't have the lid on and accidently grab the crate, which in turn makes the items launch all over the place, furthest record launch has been about 25 metres so I have to go and find them wherever they go.

15. Instead of falling through the bottom of the map when going in the green (acid I presume) stuff in the mine, how about making it so when you go about half way down into the surface of the green liquid, then you die and re-spawn at the church instead of being able to see under the world for a short moment.

16. You can pick up dynamic objects further than your zoom length, so if you grab something further than it limit and scroll once, up or down, it'll snap back to it's proper position.

17. There is barely any force behind throwing most things, the only thing that I've found that actually throws with probably a little bit too much force is the ores.

18. When fuel has depleted in the furnace, you put more in there and you have to turn it back on, but it usually takes two presses for it to turn back on.

19. I assume trees are supposed to regenerate, hence the percentage on the stumps after you cut them down, but they don't (It may not even be a feature yet but just checking).

20. The very back of the mine/vault, there is a little ledge that you can't get up onto (as intended), but by using the crate as a lift to get on top of the ledge, you can see massive holes in the side of the walls (Again, not supposed to be able to see the holes without getting on the ledge).

21. Rarely when opening chests, instead of the item spawning in there as usual, they fling out high into the air usually taking about 3 seconds to come back down. This may be a spawning issue having to do with collision with either the other item in the chest or the chest itself.

That was just a whole bunch more bugs and issues I found since the last post, a lot of the last ones were tiny but can still be annoying in some degree. There's probably a lot more that I would have to go digging for through pure experimentation and not 90% of it being from me just playing the game.

(+1)

see this is why I made my own thread when I had a similarly large list ready to go... it becomes a bit more of a hassle to deal with when its here.

The first thing i can remember from what I read.

That's not how metal works.

"rarity" means nothing, really.

Coal is mineable

copper mines copper

Tin mines copper and tin

Bronze mines copper and tin

Brass mines Zinc Copper and tin

Iron mines Iron Zinc, Copper and tin

Steel mines Iron zinc Copper and Tin

Adelite mines Adelite Iron zinc copper and tin

Mithril mines Mithril, Adelite, Iron Zinc Copper and Tin

Adamantine Mines Ada, Mith, Ade, Iron, Zinc, Cop, and Tin

Titanium Mines. (There's a possibility, a slim one, That brass might be able to mine Iron. Unlikely. But I haven't tried yet.)
Putting a crate into a crate ain't exactly a bug
Shield "Visual" in Customer hands isn't "exactly a bug" either, All that really is is simplication, Probably mostly because They didn't ask for a specific shield, They just wanted a sheield - You could give them a Copper Polearm and a Titanium shield for all they care. (on a copper polearm request) - Which is why it probably does that, in both ways. Because they didn't ask for a type of shield, they'll accept any type of shield
and because they'll accept any type of shield, it turns all those shields into a generic placeholder kinda shield, reflecting the type of shield (Round, Tower, Heater) because /THAT/ part /was/ defined.

3 and 4 aren't really bugs, also rarer veins have a chance of dropping absolutely no ore, between the vein being rarer, and the chance of ore being lower generally for rarer ore.
The Blur isn't exactly a bug either, though it may be over...reaching its boundaries. - It's part of view depth, Though View depth of field should prevent it from working if turned off, and I don't think it does, so that may technically be a bug. But it's supposed to blur, When things are very in front of your face, You're supposed to focus on them, causing distant things to become unfocused, When something squishes up into your eyes, your vision in game, will blur, It just happens to be there's a lot of places, should and shouldn't be at, where it blues very heavily.

Screen resolution scale can also affect it.

Not sure if 6 is a bug, sounds like you're just talking about rotation and how it's currently supposed to work, and don't necessarily agree with that.
7 isn't necessary a bug either, It's just not designed to function the way you did it, either, Though I can't swear it isn't desired for it to eventually function that way.
To make an Alloy, You need to make the alloy, You can't stick a bunch of one thing in at any one time, Cause then you're just making that one thing.

So you *should* putting for example
One Tin, One copper = 2 bronze. - One Tin, One copper= 2 bronze, one tin, one copper = 2 bronze.
you /can/ mass queue up the production, and get it to churn out all 10 (about 7 or so by the time you've inserted it all though)
AFAIK you can also "intersect" it with other materials, You just /have/ to properly fill it.
so something like One tin, One copper (properly accepted), One Adelite, One Iron, One Carbon (Properly accepted)  (DO NOT JUST drop a bunch of them in, nor just drop them in even in order) one mithril -> 2 bronze, one adelite, 2 steel, one mithril.

Repeat. DO NOT just toss them in. Don't toss in tin and let go, and then toss in Copper, letting go immediately after, without it being "accepted" and then go to toss in another tin or another thing

You need to Insert a core (one of the main materials, that isn't Zinc or Carbon)
It will react, then you need to insert the other ingredient, keep trying to insert it until it actually disappears from your hand while you're holding it, When it disappears, that's when the smelter has accepted it as part of the alloy, Then you can put in another Tin, or Copper, or Iron, and repeat, waiting for the 2nd ingredient to be accepted.

18- It takes two pressures usually because it wasn't shut off, Much like a circuit breaker when you go to reset it, You're supposed to take it from "Not on but not off" to "Fully off" and then "Back on" (at least that's what I've always been told)

The tree thing has been mentioned, It's mostly because of them spawning in the log/world (or lack of spawning because the stump/world physics were where it was going to spawn) - If you use a "solid object that you can lift yourself with" you can easily push the tree down and cut it, allowing more consistent results for logs, The tree not falling is the real bug, previously almost all the time they did, but something changed which ended up causing them not to fall over, will likely be fixed next time, but no guarantees

The chest - The reason is because the spawn location is designed for two ingots

but the spawn pool is designed with the option of a handle. or ingots

A handle is slightly.. bigger, than an ingot, causing the top ingot to spawn in the handle, and more often than not, be flung into the air as it tries to resist the edge of the handle... I believe this is known and/or addressed, I think i've mentioned it along with "nothing sadder than watching (insert ingot) swimmin with the fishes" (or something like that)

(+1)

First part, noted

"rarity mean nothing" that's acceptable, I was only using it at a reference of what they could do because it made sense at the time.

I'm already aware of the things each type of tool can mine, except for alloys because there's no indication of how good they are unless you test them, as far as I know. The only one I do know is steel because I found out the bad way.

Putting a box inside another box isn't really a bug, I know that, but when you say it, it sounds too bizarre doesn't it. At that point it's stuck halfway in the other box while still not moving by themselves because it's turned static, which is odd.

I'm aware of the shield thing, where they don't ask for a specific type so it turns into a pre-set made one of that type. But they don't exactly ask for the type of weapon they want either, such as "Copper one-handed sword" (for example). They don't specify what shape of the blade, type of guard or grip they want, so why doesn't that turn into a pre-set version of a "Copper one-handed sword".

I know 3 isn't a bug, but that must've been a stuff up somewhere. I know your arm isn't meant to be a rock (If it is, well damn it then).

For number 4, I did originally think it wasn't meant to happen, but now that you mention that it's a rarer drop rate, that makes more sense.

The extreme blur that occurs when your inside something can actually become annoying at some point, I was testing it when opening a door that turned on the side I was on, and when the door end got close to me it had that extreme amount of blur for a quick second. I already knew of the fact that the blur was somewhat of a focusing element in the camera to focus on certain things, so yes when you face-plant into a tree you see it just fine but everything else, not so much.

Since of this low performance computer I always have resolution scale on 60%, but it couldn't affect that much could it?

6, again, isn't that much of bug, it's just a problem with how it rotates when it's flat with the ground, because you constantly need to raise it and turn it upside down if you want to completely empty the crate to make sure it doesn't go inside the ground. It would be much easier if the rotation was in the centre. I'm not saying that the way rotation works doesn't work right, I'm saying that the centre of rotation on the crate should be raised to the centre.

Now that I was completely aware of how bulk producing alloys doesn't work, I don't do it anymore. I put in the two things, copper and tin for example, then let those make the 2 ingots, turn the furnace off, put in another copper and tin then turn it on and let it finish and repeat that over and over again. Note that when I was talking about what happened with me, I put in the 5 copper and 5 tin before I turned it on, to make sure they all started at the same time, but that obviously didn't work. I don't feel like trying any other method as of now than the one I said about putting a mix in at separate times just to not risk losing anymore ores.

for 18, I think it should detect when there's no longer fuel in there to properly turn off. I've had a few times where I tried turning it on (thinking it was on) and checking the starting of it, but it still wasn't on, and it still happens, must be a habit of hitting it once to work.

It good to see that the tree thing has been recognised, it does kind of annoy me the way it doesn't want to fall over but instead get itself stuck in the stump.

I'm aware of that the chest has spawn points designed for 2 ingots, and have gotten grips before (of course) with the other launching at the same time. You could probably make the spawning points beside each other, not on top of each other, maybe?

I understand that some of these are bugs, and also bizarre things that shouldn't be there but are not exactly bugs. such as number 2, 3, 4 (Which I now understand why), 6, 10, 11, 13, 15 and whatever else you think belongs. I just make lists of bugs and things that aren't so much bugs but are still wack.

22. You should also drop the tool you're using if you equip a different one instead of it disappearing into the void.

Alright well my problem here is, after i pass the the copper and start selling Tin weapons, the max amount of copper i can have is 1k. And after it goes past that it restarts to 0 or however much the amount was passed by. Its really irritating.

Can you elaborate please? Maybe a vivid story of how this happened to give a better understanding of what this may be

First recommendation, Try reloading one of the versions from itch, or from itch app, That's definitely a first I've heard that, unless you have like 2200 charisma or something... even then I don't think Tin is expensive enough to zero out.

Also I would try to recommend starting a new save, as I feel like maybe it almost sounds like you're using an old save where the Currency was a different type.

Previously the current was just " a currency" and you'd have hundreds of millions of "currency"

Now its Copper, Silver, Gold, etc coins, and I know Slipcor made a save fixer related to money issues from one specific version to one specific update, but if you save and reload, before using that, you're pretty boneroned I think.

I didn't have either of those cases, so I don't know how "being boneroned" looks like, but what you describe does sound like what I could imagine would come from that.

as 1000 copper, is 1 silver

and hitting more than 1000 copper, Turns that into silver, and any extra beyond, turns copper, until 1000 silver, which turns to gold.

Also keep in mind that alloy bronze, is a wonderful thing.

Bronze (1 tin 1 copper) creates 2 bronze, and each bronze is worth 650, instead of tins 500 and coppers 10

Brass is 750
Steel is "enough" more than Iron to be noticeable, but then again, you get 2 steel for 1 iron (and 1 carbon)

(1 edit)

i dont Know if this has been said already but when ever my character walks the noise cuts out v 0.0.9e

I'm not sure what this is, but it may be related to there being a random chance to have a crate change the song when closed :/

All items are registerd as a grip

Then you're probably not building them correctly, 9e iirc starts having item names.
1h grip 1 ingot blade
1h grip 1h guard 2 ingot blade
1h grip 2 ingot hammer
1h grip 2 ingot axe
2h grip 2h guard 3 ingot blade
2h grip 3 ingot hammer
2h grip 3 ingot axe
2h grip 3 ingot pick axe
pole grip 1 ingot blade (guard optional)
pole grip 2 ingot blade (guard optional)
pole grip 3 ingot blade (guard optional)
pole grip 2 ingot hammer (guard barred)

polegrip 3 ingot hammer (used to I think, not tested in 9e, feel like 9(something) I saw it not work haven't tested since)

It must notify you that you've created an item in order for it to be correct and saleable.

The blacksmith can equip any 2 ingot hammer, 2 ingot axe, and 3 ingot pickaxe.
This includes a 1h grip 3 ingot pickaxe, used to and possibly still includes a pole grip 3 ingot pickaxe
a 2h grip 2 ingot axe, and a 2h grip 2 ingot hammer, used to include 1h grip 3 ingot hammer, used to include pole grip 2 ingot hammer, can't say I tested pole grip 3 ingot hammer
Most of the things the Blacksmith can equip, cannot be sold.
BS can also equip stolen items.

the glare is every where and i cant see

The glare may be the focusing on certain things, you probably want to turn your post processing to medium or low. Medium will be the lowest of the glare, and low should turn it completely off.

I just started playing but i can't get the items to join to make the tool wondering if there is something else or is just a bug.

tried to make a greatsword but it was stuck as a common two hand grip and i couldn't sell it. please help

Version is (0.0.9e)

There are two problems I kinda wanna say, first is that I was making some basic items just to catch up on random requests, and I heard the little customer bubble sound, so i check, and no one is there, the little [x] is there at the bottom left, but it won't go away when clicked. Even when I close my shoppe, or go to bed, it doesn't go anywhere and It won't let me get anymore customers.

For the second, it seems weird that it will start getting really dark outside, and I cannot go to sleep, it will almost be the next day before I can actually sleep, does your tiredness get affected but how much you do in a day in game?

Thanks for an amazing game and your time.

                                                                                                                                                                       -Tox

First, this problem should be getting fixed in the new release with the person arriving but not being there. The only way to get out of this so far is to reload the save or go to sandbox and back (Make sure to save). Also, your tiredness depends from the hour you wake up to approx. the time you last went asleep.

Sleep is I believe 16-18hrs "tired" and 24hrs "Tired (exhausted)/level 2" (its one or the other, not a range between 16-18hrs) if you go to sleep at 10pm, you will get tired around 9ish or so, give or take the difference in change from what was past the hour.

If you go to sleep at 5 in the morning, you will wake up likely in the later hours of the afternoon, and not get tired again for that "tired" frame of time, and you can't go to sleep till tired or exhausted, soyou will essentially be off schedule for days, until you slowly reset the schedule, or be tired for a very long time (exhausted/level 2) until you can sleep at the proper time to keep schedule.

I personally find it best to sleep between 10 and 11pm if at all possible, to keep the most store hours available, if I'm "bored/done" with a particular day, and tired too early, I'll wait around messing with stuff until its between 10 and 12, if possilbe, if its already well past 12, I don't bother sleeping.

I cant get it to show up on my computer

This is a known bug that is hopefully getting fixed in 0.1.0f, this usually happens when you first start the game with a rarer chance of it happening any other time. What you can do to fix this issue is when you serve them and they get stuck, go to the spot in the attached image and they should leave the shop, allowing more people to come in and you can continue selling your goodies.

Hi Dasius or whoever is reading this. I need help. I can't choose anything from the radical menu and I cant hammer items on the anvil. Someone please help

P.S. My version is 0.0.9

Is the version 0.0.9 or 0.0.9e? They're two different versions.

if no one's mentioned it, Check the common issues Pinned thread, I believe Lowlevelfatalerror is listed there, good chance you'll get a solution from that. Sorry about the delay, Normally someone would've pointed that out and I (a random user) haven't been nearly as active checking here since I've been sitting on their discord

There may also be some kinda issue with Adminstrative permisions, Firewalls, and etc..

Yo Dasius! I have another bug for you. I'm running version 0.09e, and I have a pretty big problem with the mine. You see, there are only 2 veins in total down there, and so I can't reduce my expenses and progress to tin. Do you know how I could sort that out?

A little secret...*cough cough* there's 6 veins available straight from the get-go, also they 'reproduce' their contents randomly in about an in-game day

(2 edits)

I knew about the reproducing part, but what do you mean by 'get-go'?

Straight from the beginning

(1 edit)

So like around the mine? I know I found 2 veins around it yesterday

2 in the mine, at the door to the mine if you stick to the left you'll find two and 2 more if you stick to the right of the cliff.

Thanks bud! I'll go and search for them in a few hours. Right how I have some important stuff  to do.

Hello Dasius I have a bug report my version is 0.0.9e .

i have a gtx 1050,6d bit pc,16 ram

My bug is that while i was trying to make my box lid go upward (full of zinc ore and day 2) it threw me height up because i was standing on it and when my charecter fell of the border the game crashed (kinda my fault)

We are all fully aware that if you have an item underneath you and you pick it up, you will start flying. A fix for this may be coming to the soon-to-be-released version.

How does the save work? because when I save and go back to play it, it doesn't go back to the save it creates a new one

The save is located in APPDATA/Local/ShopSim (%appdata% brings you to APPDATA/Roaming)

If the game is not allowed to access the save, or is not allowed to access other folders and the like, Then it's likely to run into problems.

Chances are pretty high, that your game is either Not being allowed to do that, Or some program is being an overprotective pest, Like certain antivirus programs that need to chill the hell down.

the mouse in menu is really mis aligned and I cant press a lot of the buttons any reason why

Lots of factors, if its way off, Try adjusting UI scale, Resolution (in game and out of game) and Font size/DPI (Out of game)

Some of these things can interfere with how some things function, including matching/syncing up correct positioning of items and cursors

i've got a problem with downloading it in the browser. Download stops in about 1/4 of the process. I've tried downloading it in google chrome and microsoft edge but it everytime stops and says "failure-network error". What do i have to do to download and play this game?

(+1)

I would probably suggest checking the usual suspects (space, firewall, admin, etc) and/or trying to download it through the itch app, or while running perhaps incognito or what not, it's certainly an interesting issue you have.
Try also different versions, trying maybe Gamejolt as well, (it should be up to the public version (0.0.9e) (might be written differently based on site criteria))
Maybe also try a different browser, there's a ton of them out there.

You could also try emulators for mobile (which have a crapton of small browsers) to try and download the file somewhere where you can then locate and unpack it like normal, but that'd be something I'd say to do if nothing else at all works.

nothing

So, i just got this game because i was watching IGP play it and when i get into the game, no matter my graphics settings, the game seems to hiccup every half second or so, but only when im moving. I thought this was view distance but changing it dorsnt seem to do anything. Its really annoying and kinda hard to play. Any help would be appreciated.

Specs of PC (need more info for the most part)
Try redownloading the file, something could've been corrupt
try updating drivers if that hasn't been done in a while.

Check to see if graphics settings for (Insert control panel type) have been restricted in some way, perhaps toy around with your graphics' control panel to see if you can get better responsiveness out of it, some programs don't really like certain settings or modes, so there's always a possibility

well I sadly dont know the specs, and am on a vacation and dont have my pc. But my friend called me and said he was having the same problem. But he has a beast computer that handles really big games so i dont know the problem.

well no computer is safe really...  a Beast computer can run one thing fantastically and struggle to run another thing all the same, compatiblity of parts and optimizations of games matter in that aspect.

Particularly Foliage settings in most games can be very taxing, even more so when in general, the settings aren';t super fine-tuned and optimized - and even more more so when computer parts just don't like dealing with that specific element, Parts can also fail or begin to degrade, and one thing might trigger it, while another, almost identical thing or more, might not.

For example a few years back now, I had a PSU issue, my PSU was pretty much dying, but it ran so biger, more intense games just fine still, for hours on end, etc. so it didn't seem like it was actually a PSU problem,
and it would crash on very light intensity game(s), sometimes immediately. sometimes after an hour or two.
Replacing my PSU completely removed that issue, at the time, hours on end, left it running overnight just to ensure it, etc.

and there's no real saving grace on computers. we hope and expect them to work outta the box, and last for years.

but randomly some just don't work outta the box, or die shortly after, and may not even perform well at the start. there's all sorts of those.

(1 edit)

I'm having an issue that sometimes when I cut down a tree it sometimes falls a far distance away from me, sometimes half was from the mine to where I was standing next to the shop fence. Also sometimes the trees don't drop wood.

Another issue I am having is when making alloys half the time it won't mix the metals and gives me normal ingots of what I put in. There have been a couple times I put metals in the mix and it glitched where I had to restart and I lost all the ingots I had put in.

Last issue I think I'm having is I named my shop on the sign but when I brought the game up the next day the name wasn't showing. I clicked on it thinking it just didn't save the name but nope it was there yet I had to hit esc to exit the menu because it wouldn't let me click Done.

Oh and if I premake a shield's wood part and/or rim then I save, close the game then come back into the game then the customers won't take the premade shield and the wood parts and rims won't go together either. I have to make all new parts.

Version 1.0j rev 47

I made a round shield, with everything I needed. But now it is stuck on the table. I can't add anything else to it, cant hammer it or remove it by hand.

(+1)

in Dev Build, You can move furniture around, You can probably do it that way

However

In all builds, Items can be rotated, and pulled at, If you rotate it to certain points, its hit box will try and force it out of the table, as well if you keep pulling at it,, it may spring free, pulling and rotating would accelerate the process

I posted this question in a separate topic and the Dev said the same thing. Thanks for the reply though!

Every single time i try to craft anything, they just act as if they are only the handle of said tool/weapon, and i am unable to uncraft the object of said item to attempt to fix it

(1 edit)

Crafting can be finnicky, I am not understanding what your problem is. But to uncraft or dismantle an item, move it to the Anvil and use you hammer on it.

If they're assembled wrong (For example, a one hand grip and a pickaxe head =/= an item - The blacksmith can equip that, but it will not notify you of creation, update the name of item, nor allow a customer to buy it) they won't update.

If they're assembled right (for example one hand grip, one hand guard, and a 2-ingot blade) and they don't rename themselves
This is not necessarily "an issue" - not all items do indeed have a name. - If it tells you "You created an (insert item)" You're still fine, whether it labeled it or not.

if it is assembled corretly, it doesn't rename itself, AND you do not see a notification of assembly - THEN, there's a problem...
you can unassemble it, maybe for some reason the blade didn't cool off properly (FOR EXAMPLE, You dipped it in oil while the forge was running, and then proceeded to turn, with a cooled blade,  and dragged the blade over the forge, causing it to heat up, but not enough to update "cooled" to "heated")
If everything else checked out, and it didn't work, and reassembly didn't work, multiple times - Then there may be a corruption in your files, you can either try unzipping it again, or downloading free, or trying through the itchio app

I think I know what you mean. I have the same problem. You made the item correctly, but the customer wont pick it up. Or you didn't make it correctly and the item doesn't tell you that.

If that it correct. When I know I made the item correctly, I just leave it by the front desk and a customer will automatically pick it up. If they don't, I know the order or customer is glitched.

If not correct, I am sure someone else will come around and see your post, or ask again on separate post. Good luck!

Not sure if this is the update which allows for up-selling or the rare materials (as seen in IGP's videos), if it's not, never mind. Also, the chest can be re-opened multiple times if you save and exit to the main menu (might have been planned but still)

0.0.9e can Upsale, by 1-tier.

Should still be 1-tier in the newer IGP videos

The reopened part is known. - It deals with the fact that it is impossible (currently) to save the contents or lack thereof of it, thus, the game has to deal with it that way..... It's probably going to be resolved in some time,

kinda figured that the endless chest thing is not that easily fixed atm, just thought I'd bring it up. also, what's with the standard grips? the customers don't want the old, standard grips. little frustrating. same with the overabundance of rare polearm grips and lack of rare 1 or 2 hand grips. I have like, 40 polearm grips and they can't be used

This might have already been answered but there's hundreds of entries, the charisma modifier hasn't been working for me or my brother. I haven't seen this issue be reported anywhere else. Does anybody else have this issue, or is it just us and how can we fix it?

Just to clarify my build I'm running, it's build 1.0 and I have an easy save with 26 charisma. I compared two identical orders for a two hand copper axe and both came out to 47 copper as the sell price. Is it that there is a variance of prices people pay? Or is it just stuck to the default value and charisma doesn't actually work in this build. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It has been mentioned on the discord - Charisma is currently broken on the dev version - It probably has to deal with how the difficulties interact with stats and custom difficulty and stuff, From what I know, there's some... Crossed wires... that seem to happen

1 (additional) point of charisma will drop the bonus to 1c, I think, Hard to say since I haven't got that build to play around with it.

Thank you for clarifying that for me. I hadn't been able to find anything on it myself so I appreciate it. Here's hoping the issue will get fixed sometime xD
