Thanks for the review! Unfortunately... you seemed to hit some bug where the shader doesn't work for the light (you should have had a small ring of light around you and blackness outside of that. The game definitely doesn't play the right way when you can just see everything -- there's supposed to be a sense of danger and fear of the unknown while you're exploring the mines. I agree with most of your critique though. We really appreciate the feedback. Hopefully not too many people had the same bug (we haven't been able to see many people play). We'll be uploading a playthrough at some point if you want to see what it's "supposed" to look like. Anyhow, thanks again!
(If you don't mind me asking, what browser and OS are you on? For the sake of seeing if we can figure out why the game didn't render correctly for you)

Thank you so much! It's really helpful to watch someone who's coming to the game without preconceptions. I'm sorry the controls were confusing; I think I relied too much on the on-screen tutorial prompts, but of course those only appear at certain times so you can't refer to them if you have questions at other times. I'll add a controls reference to the page for now, and think about how to make the flow more natural in future!

Also, I'm sorry you didn't succeed to move further in the game. In fact it's our fault : we didn't let enough time at the beginning of the game to let you get familiar with the manual. Here's the process : the astronaut said you there is an "connection problems" at the "shield". So you need to look in the manual to go to the "Connection problems" page (look at the first page, with the table of contents, it indicates to you the page 8), and here, look for the "shield" part to know what to do with the modules :).

Yeah female protagonists are rare, and in metroidvanias they ironically seem nonexistent even though the whole genre is named after a game with a female protagonist.
