I decided a straightforward, simple approach of launching things at the moon fit my skill level. When deciding what to launch, I thought of the line in Winnie the Pooh - "send the pig".

Cool concept! nice graphics and simple mechanic! I think I got super lucky and made it to the Moon! :)
Good job!
Cool game - fun sound & visual effects, art & animations. Thanks for making it!
Pig sent... Safe delivery unlikely.
The main menu pig sound effects was nice. It feels like this game is all about luck. The art is super cute. Nice job!
Pigs may not be able to fly, but they sure can be launched. I beat the game on the first launch! Your pixel art is quite cute. You've given yourself a great base to work from if you decide to flesh out this game some more in the future.
Congrats on making your first game! This jam was only my second game ever and I made my first game last year so I totally understand the struggle haha. All those hours of googling how-to do this and that and all those youtube videos watched finally result in a game you can call your own and its totally worth all the time and effort. :)
Loved the pixel art visuals and the soundtrack. The main menu pig sound effects for selecting the different options was a really nice touch! Great attention to detail. I wish the gameplay had more to it but the way it is now has its own charm as well. Watching the pig crash into things and turned into minced meat never got old for me lmao
Hope you keep making games! They'll only get better over time.
Wow, that was random ! Funny AF
started the game ,put the canon on max power ,somehow wasn't hit and beat the game with only 4 button presses ,best game of the year
Loving the sounds and visuals of the game! Would have been nice with some air control, or as @FourierTransformer suggested, a mini map or a way of seeing the possible obstacles before launch. However, I think that the scope was good since this is your first game :). Well done!
I think the sounds are really funny. It is hard to get that one good shot, but once you have it, it feels great. The graphics are also really cute.
The pig sprites were really cute! It would be great to have some ability to change something after the pig gets launched into space or a minimap to see what obstacles exist in the air to try and time the launch appropriately. Good job on your first game!
A simple premise made into a fun experience. I enjoyed watching the pig get launched and crossing my fingers to see if he would make it past the obstacles. Good job!
I wasn't sure what I was doing, but enjoyed launching a few pigs. Only one survived. :)
Great, funny game!
The record score was reset every time though
I should had added an instruction. It locked in for "safe" flights. So if you avoid obstacles and get a certain distance, it turned green and became your high score.
Dreams of a leaderboard and steeper difficulty level got put aside, so it is less obvious now. Because everyone presumably just shoots right for the moon until one makes it through. :)
Thanks for trying it out!
Funny game, art & sounds are cute. :) The game lacks a "skill" component though, it feels pure luck based. (e.g. press button to be invulnerable for a short time, so you can train your reflexes to dodge obstacles)
Thanks, and you are 100% right. Originally the concept was to have it be a game of timing, and I had a timer and indicators of a 10 second loop. You'd gradually figure out the optimal launch time for a given power.
Unfortunately my beginner skill level killed that dream as I couldn't get the spawners to be consistent and challenging. In the interest of getting it completed on time for the contest, I pulled those out and went for more of a "slots machine" approach on the last day that I had to work on it.
Funny game! Looks like pigs can fly after all.
Congratulations on your first game. I hope you make more! I liked the ending :)
That was some funny shit man! Was a nice closure for my evening!
