Beta Testing

We've decided against rushing everyone out and dealing with a thousand bugs at once (that would be the worst) so we're rolling out the content over time. Story Mode is complete in content and is playable right now. Open Mode characters will be released as they are completed. I will announce when they are available.

If you test the game, you qualify for the Premium Content code! Just post on the forum (here or Lemma) or email me with feedback, bugs and typos and I'll PM you a code when I get the chance.

FAQ

My game won't launch / crashes immediately.

This is likely a problem with your video drivers / video card or you have a corrupted download. If you've redownloaded successfully, try holding down the SHIFT key while launching the game. A menu will come up with different render options. Try different ones until the game works.

Where are the rollback/game menu buttons on screen?

You'll need to use keyboard/mouse buttons. The mousewheel or PageUp/Down buttons work for rolling back and the ESC key or right-click brings up the game menu. All of the game's controls can be viewed from the "Help" screen on the main menu.

The Open Mode characters don't have anything to say.

They're probably not released yet.

Will I be able to continue playing my band that I made in Story Mode after the ending?

Not right now, but I am thinking of making a cheat code where you can enter to play Story Mode endlessly

Why can't I scroll down the thread on the Public Opinion forum?

It is a fake thread. You will only ever be able to see 2 posts in every thread.

It's taking a long time to generate $1,000,000 in CD sales.

Your CDs sell more if you're more popular, meaning you should probably play more gigs.

Certain things in the story happen no matter what I do!

These are pre-determined and won't change. They are there for character growth and to account for Open-Ended Mode.

Why doesn't the music being played in the gigs reflect the actual instruments I have in my band?

The amount of time it would take to accomplish that outweighs how much that would add to the game.

Can I accidentally romance other characters?

Not in Story Mode. You pick your romance path early on at Sophia's party ("Who do I want to hang out with?") and you can only fail that character's path from then on. So you don't have to ignore the other band members. :)

What happened to the characters that I met in Story Mode that just disappeared? (Wizz, etc.)

These are band recruits for Open Mode that you are unlocking for later. Once they are officially released (see release schedule above) and you recruit them in Open-Ended Mode, their story arc will begin to trigger.

Why is this game free?

In a day and age where Commercial English Visual Novels are common and Steam an archive of amazing games to choose from, the fact that a game of Rock Robin's size and complexity is free might be startling, or even slightly off-putting. But when Rock Robin began in 2008, both commercial EVNs, and otome games specifically, were a rarity. The idea that we could make money from this game wasn't even a thought in our minds. All we wanted to do was create a fantastic game where you could be a female character and romance others, as at the time we could count the amount of Otome games out there on one hand.

After Aleema held the Open Mode Character Creation Contest, Rock Robin went from a one-woman show, to a group effort. People from all over the community contributed in writing, art and editing. We gathered resources from wherever we could: music, art brushes, clipart, all those things that, because our game was to be free, we could use.

Six years later, the state of EVNs has changed, but the idea of Rock Robin being a group effort and the fact that the game had become filthy with resources that cannot be used in a pay-for game have kept this game free for everyone. To be honest, to try and find all the amazing people who had helped to contribute to this game to make sure they get compensated from anything we'd make from the game would be nigh impossible.

Instead of paying for our game, if you want to show your love for it, spread the word, make fanart, fanfiction, tell us about your band! Support us in future endeavors! But most of all, just enjoy the game.

Joel was written by the lovely Alphonse. I had a writer's block with the poor guy, but Alphonse swooped in and took him under her wing. I really love how he turned out.

I also released 2 of Collin's scenes that I forgot to unlock. They involve Penny from Sebastian's storyline. I also rewrote some of his intro. I hadn't read it a long time. When you guys said you didn't like him I was like ??? but then I read his intro and I was like OH WOW. Yeah. That Collin doesn't represent the Collin I had in mind while writing his arc. Some minor changes, but Owen no longer drops out of high school and such. And now there's a separate reaction scene when firing Collin if you romanced him (thanks to Grotty for pointing that out).

Such is the problem with having so much time between starting and finishing these characters. I just re-read Wizz's intro the other day for the first time in a long time and laughed out loud at Robin attempting to argue over the internet. :lol: It's been a while.

The bug that broke your saves after firing someone is FIXED! Hallelujah! The problem was some old code that was calling scenes in a new context. Really shouldn't do that.

And to address the issue with not understanding how to unlock Beau, I've added a hint on that dialogue choice with Dallas. Now it should be clear who you'll end up riding with and hopefully people will naturally choose the character they're going to pursue ...

The Walkthroughs.rtf file now has the Open Mode characters that are released as well.

I cannot for the life of me successfully romance Dallas!(I haven't tried any of the other guys yet)

This is a common problem that I seek to fix in the next patch. The problem is you are probably playing the game too well, so the objectives complete faster, so the game ends quicker - and the romance scenes just don't trigger fast enough. So in the next patch, before the game ends, it will check to see if you've completed the romance and ask you before proceeding.

I downloaded the game but it won't let me update it :/ it says error each time. Also I was quite annoyed that we couldn't pick dialogue at some parts cuz alot of times i wanted to be nice and she would just say really stupidly rude things to her friends -_- the ending of story mode the friends were quite selfish as well >:[ I see that updating gives me more things in the game like cheats and other stuff but it errors each time i try. Also is this the new updated version that's out now? i downloaded it a lil while ago

Robin isn't a typical nice person - this isn't like most games. And it would be selfish of Robin for her not to accept her friends needing to move on. Game-wise, Open Mode is a sequel to Story Mode so that's why things needed to happen that way.

I actually have a question about that! Faust has been "away" for MONTHS and I was wondering if its a normal thing, that it also happened to you, or if you think that the game is waiting for me to hit a specific point in band progression before he comes back BC I MISS HIM AND HE NEEDS TO RETURN

There is a walkthrough located in the game folder for each released character, so that may help.

There are a couple times when Faust disappears. The first time, you just need to go to the band meeting to trigger a scene. The second time, when he is in Germany, may be where you are stuck. The game counts 3 sessions before he returns. By that, it only checks to see if the day of the week is not the same as the last time it checked (Monday vs Saturday on a normal weekend split session). Maybe your sessions are a full week so it always checks on the same day of the week?

If not, then there is a bigger bug and I may need more info.

I did end up having to go way back to the beginning and start his route over using the guide but I believe that was a bug.

I was trying to pursue him but I noticed that when I got the scenes where he went to Germany and came back and took off again, that it skipped the scenes from "Paranoid" to "Guitar Pick". Needless to say I was confused when Lukas showed up. But the last time Faust showed up in game was when they left to go do whatever right after they came back ( he was "friends" with Robin because I wasn't even given the opportunity to choose) and never came back. I played through 6 months and checked the band meeting, did gigs, checked the shopping and band equipment screens to see if I was missing the trigger, and nothing. I checked on various days so it wasn't the same day problem.

Which scenes exactly did it skip? Did it skip "Paranoid" and "Guitar Pick" or were those scenes the next two that you did see before he disappeared?

It skipped Paranoid, Close Encounter and Guitar Pick.

THE WIZZ! Woo! He was a blast to write and I still laugh at some of the interactions he has with Robin. Wizz was invented by Chansel. She wrote his general premise, a lot of band chats and a few scenes. The ladies of HappyB love him, but your mileage may differ. He's not for everyone, but I tried to tone him down (or up) based on your interactions with him. I felt his romance scenes differed enough from the not-romance ones to give them their own slot in Memorabilia. So if you complete his path and see 2 empty slots on his page, it may just be the other version.

Epilogue previews!! Oh boy did you guys make me feel like crap for not releasing them. I'm sorry. In my mind, their romances always had more to it, but if I don't share that story, then what is the point? I wanted to release them last because I wanted to give them a lot of attention (and they're not complete, just outlined). So I've included previews of the continuations. There will be a little prompt that comes up that says the preview is over. Dallas has 2 long scenes at the beginning only, Emmitt has 4 scenes that occur over time (about a month in between), and Beau has 2 scenes that happen after the first month and at the end of summer with some tiny little ones in between. I hope you like Emmitt. :D

THESE ARE ONLY PREVIEWS. The stories will continue once I've finished them. You'll eventually get an option in each path to break off the romance, if you want. If you romance someone else, Robin will call them up and break up with them. If you continue your romance with them, all of them will get happy endings (despite what the previews may imply). Again, I just need to finish them first.

Also, premium code owners finally get something of substance: a new genre (Electric Rock) and a preview of Xander. You can see his intro if you attempt to add him to the band (you'll get another chance to say yay or nay). His story is written, I just need to go through and add the graphics, music, etc. The tedious part.

To those that were habitually failing a romance route: hopefully this will help! :D A screen will pop up before the AMPs at the end of the game that gives you an option to not continue. This will only appear if you are set to fail your selected romance route. The game will check to see if you've done the bare minimum for your romance every 4 weeks. If you're all set, romance-wise, you won't get a choice. Sorry, but that's how it's meant to be played! Alternatively, you could play your band into infinity if you're willing to see that screen pop up every month. :P

I finally fixed the problem of removing the add button if someone can't be recruited. Now it tells you that they dislike your genre, so hopefully it is more clear.

The gig minigame time is now a bar that depletes, so no more complaining about how the "seconds" are too fast. (I can't make the numbers be actual seconds because the game requires the screen be updated quickly to read your inputs.)

Another cool feature for those that play the timed minigame (I've heard you are out there somewhere) is that low stress band members give you more time! And if you match the clock tiles, you'll get a boost in time as well.

Love this game so much!!! I've played this non stop for almost two days now. Kudos for making a well thought out game with complex and relatable characters. Wizz is an awesome character and I can't wait to romance him next (I'd have to break up with Emmitt first :( )

I have question: will it be possible to date Beau in story mode? I know there's an option to be dating him in open ended, but in story I can only date Emmitt and Dallas.

Yep. You just have to turn down Dallas for a ride after the auditions. You ride back with Beau instead.

How do you gain access to the cheat menu? And are they implemented? I've played this game about 3 times and would like to try it with a leg up.

Put in enough time to have played my first few gigs, and I'm digging it. No glaring issues thus far, hopefully I can provide some more useful feedback once I'm deeper in to it.

Is the seth path accesible? I saw a post on the lemmasoft forums that said it is, but I haven't been able to access it?

His path is not written, so no. Look at the top of this page at the infographic to see whose path is available (darkened characters are not yet finished).

Any word on when Seth's path will be finished? I've been looking forward to his path the most >.<

Hey, I'm new to itch.io and was pointed in this game's direction by a youtuber I watch. I've just completed the Golden Boy path and I have to say that I love it. That was the my first choice of route since I thought it might lead more into the past than the others. I haven't even tried open-ended mode yet, and there's still so much content I haven't seen in story mode which makes me really excited. I saw that you guys were still in beta and were open to info about bugs or typos so I tried to jot down what I noticed (in notepad of all things). I missed five scenes, it would seem that I had a bit a speed run. I'm planning to check them out later so if I see anything I'll let you know?

These are the things I noticed:

  • In the second conversation with Jammy, there's a typo where she uses present instead of past tense. "I mean, I just *remember* we didn't decide what day or what time to go out so ..."
  • On Dallas' path, after Robin visits Sterling by herself and she can talk to Dallas about it (he asks her) it says "I was so sick and tired of every *cross* thing that came out of his mouth." I was wondering if cross was supposed to be crass.
  • When Robin and Dallas go music hopping during a hang out, in the vinyl store when they enter there's a typo. It says "Thankfully, we split up at the door and went down different *ailses*.

I don't mean to sound uppity or anything >_< (some people say I have a bad habit of sounding condescending).

I'm super stoked about this game since it's just so fun to play and there's so much content. Sorry, I'm not very good at constructive criticism. XD Rock Robin is a lovely game and I can't wait to explore the other parts of the game!

Hey there, I just finished Emmitt's route. (Yup, I'm trying to fit in as many game hours as possible during the final countdown to the new school year.) Here are the things I noticed:

  • On Emmitt's route after he receives dog tags from Dallas, Robin can talk to Dallas about it. After he asks Apollo do forgive him for "blasphemey", there's a strange sentence. "He smiled a looked back down on me."
  • At the AMPs when talking to the tabloid reporter when Emmitt starts to say something to the reporter, Robin thinks "Christ in jetpack, boy ...". I thought that there may be a typo there.
  • After the reporter leaves and Robin says that Emmitt's not cooler than her it says, "I slugged him on the shoulder and he giggle-snorted. What was cute enough to make me laugh, too."
Emmitt's route was lots of fun too, it was really different from Dallas' romance with Robin. There were quite a few moments where I wondered if Robin and Emmitt were dating or not (officially to Robin that is). XD I have a quick question, how exactly does story-mode progress into to open ended-mode? For example, in the er, Stinkin' Mutt end would the *cough* babysitting continue?

I've only recently started playing visual novels and have become a fan of quite a few titles from varying genres, and RockRobin definitely holds a special place in my favorites list for VNs. I've thoroughly enjoyed the uniqueness of the story and the conflicts put in between each individual character. I must admit that my first playthrough resulted in a "What's love got to do with it?" ending, even when I didn't plan to do it that way. I was focused on trying to romance Beau, but never seemed to figure out how to trigger his romance until I looked up the guide and discovered where I had to do to trigger it.

Thus far I've romanced most of the characters, and I have to say the two that are my favorites are Dallas and Wizz. I'm a sucker for character history and to have first seen most of the basic interactions in my initial playthrough without seeing the romance scenes with Dallas, then doing so in a second playthrough was incredible. I loved seeing the connections between the two and the past they shared together, both positively and negatively. Specifically I loved the Christmas scene with Dallas, as well his epilogue has been fantastic thus far. As for Wizz, I loved how it started out seeming so unlikely (similarly to Dallas when I think about it); the lack of obvious attraction involved and interest in one another's lives. To see how they viewed each other once their masks of hostility toward each other had been taken off; where Robin got to witness a vulnerable, self-conscious side of Wizz which gave her an "in" beyond witty retorts and their music. I've got to admit, I enjoyed the idea of all his date scenes, including the final clip involving their early morning panic and how they handled the situation together; how Wizz stepped up and handled it maturely and delicately without the use of their standard comical outline. I was beyond disappointed when I got the achievement informing me that I had completed his romance, because I loved how it concluded so much that I wanted to see more; some kind of hinted future of maybe where they'd be a couple years down the road. *insert sadface*

On the bright side, at least I have more Dallas epilogue to look forward to later on down the road, though I already know I'll be disappointed to see that conclusion as well. I guess I just don't handle endings very well!

As a side-note: I've made it a point to take screenshots of dialogue scenes that have typos or overall grammatical errors as I've seen them and thought about it and added "notes" in the screenshots of where the errors are and what fixes them. I'm sure you've tons of people helping you with this issue as is (between friends/peers helping on your end and other fans helping out), but if you'd like me to send them to you, let me know and I'll keep on top of it.

I do have one comment, and one question.

When in Beau's route, when I am playing against Emmitt for the "kiss", after the game is over, it crashes. I mean, I can always put "ignore" and the game continues, but just to tell you (:

The question is... In open mode, I'm trying to romance Collin, but I think his path may not be done yet. Am I right?

No, Collin is complete. There's a walkthrough in the game folder if you're having trouble. Might also help to update the game, just in case.

I understand that the game might crash due to a corrupted download or trouble with the video card/driver. I have downloaded the game twice over, and yet the game crashes as soon as I start playing. What do you suggest I do?

In these cases, it can usually be solved by holding down the SHIFT key while launching the game. A screen will come up and ask you to select a render type. I'm not smart enough to recommend one (Ren'Py developer suggests ANGLE render) but try clicking through all of them until one works! If you ever see weird cut-off buttons or missing graphics, try yet another one. xD Sorry this is happening to you!

Oh I thought you meant the game wouldn't start at all. Does a blue error screen come up? I need that error. No one else is getting this crash though, so another re download is the first thing you should do (or download from our site, not itchio). That's all I can think.

I re downloaded from your website and faced the same problem. There isn't any blue screen or error message. The game starts, and as soon as I click "NEW BAND", it crashes.I'm so sorry.

- prevent you from re-naming your band the exact same if you lose your band to Launch
- Wizz's intro/firing scene doesn't trigger if you're playing the No Scenes mode
- Robin's portrait on the Recruit screen now reflects her correct hair
- Fixed Robin's chibi in Open Mode so it didn't always show the pink bass

Xander! He will only appear in the Recruit screen for those with a Premium Content code. (Details at the bottom of my post.) Xander is a reserved British guitarist, written mostly by Serenity Frost. His story isn't as long as the other romanceable guys, which is why I consider him a bonus character, but he still has a good amount of content. His route includes a potential alternative outfit for himself and for Robin.

So my hints about the ending were too subtle, so you should get 3 scenes now of the band members dealing with their conflicts and Robin noticing, even if you're not on their romance path. Spoilers for those scenes: Dallas' is pretty much the same as his romance path - you go to the pier, but you don't dance for him (you have to "hang out" after the AMP nomination). Emmitt will now get a cutscene when you go to band meeting and, depending on your relationship with him, he'll say different things in a band chat afterwards. There's a romance version, friendship version (75%+ affection) and not friends version. Subsequently, all the previous "hint" scenes have been adjusted to only happen after you've been nominated for an award, so the timing is more appropriate. Beau's scene is Robin walking in a band meeting where she wasn't invited, Beau reassures her it was nothing to worry about and she believes him.

Some Open Mode characters now have their own song flavor (unique song titles and themes) when they're writing music, just as Robin/Dallas/Beau/Emmitt had in Story Mode. Wizz and Rose's songs will have geeky names, for example. Alessandro will almost always write love songs, Emma about the government, and such. This should be good for customizing your band further. If you wanted to make a Christian rock band, have Claudette write all of your songs. If you want an emo flair, go with Seth. Some characters don't have any unique flavor, which allows for more variety (won't see the same songs over and over).

Stage effects are now something you can see in action! A long, long time ago, I had full screen effects for these items that happened when you matched their tile in the gig minigame. They were distracting and lagged, so I took them out. Only a sound effect can be heard when you match these tiles now. So the coolness of buying these effects was lost, but hopefully they're cool again! Woo!

There is now a "manage equipment" button on the Modify Band page where you can turn the effects off if you don't like them (but you keep the stat bonuses). My favorite part is you can change the color of the lights and lasers! :D The footlights & big screen, previously obtained when purchasing pyrotechnics, are now unlocked by playing the theater and arena venue. So you'll get them eventually over time.

Introducing: the Band Snapshot tool! Make a record of your band so you can share it with others (like me! I wanna see!) On the screen are several stats tied to your current band and slots that you can toggle to show more information of your choice. You can show your top CDs, cover designs, how many Gold/Platinum albums you have or your favorite song. (The control GUI for that disappear when you take the actual screenshot so it looks pretty.)

This screen will now appear automatically at the end of Story Mode's credits, so if you've won an AMP, it will appear.

Boosted CD sales is something I've wanted to do for a long time. In the real world, going on tour is usually meant to promote a specific album. So now you are encouraged to play your recently released songs at gigs. If your CD is at 25% popularity or higher, playing a gig will boost its sales for that day (amount depending on the venue and % of popularity left). In the beginning, playing at bars may sell 5 extra copies of your CD, but this number will be in the thousands during late game. It will add up come time for your paycheck.

The graphic shows all CDs that the current setlist is playing off of, but CDs that won't be boosted are faded out. How much your CD will be boosted will be represented by blinking arrows on top of the CD. 3 upward arrows is the highest.

There's been a large update to the number of houses/bases for your band in the Realtor screen. I added ten new bases in total, five for Premium Content owners only. When your backgrounds are photos, you can do this. ;) They all cost a different amount and are sorted between the tiers of stress bonuses. I know that I did not need to do this at all, but I did it anyway. Yes, I'm sorry that I did this and not write Seth. I'M SORRY OKAY I JUST LIKE INTERIOR DESIGN.

You can now preview a base's BGs before signing the lease. The BGs you will see most often are the last two (band meeting space and the BG behind your daily planner). But of course, any story scene that shows Robin at home will change to match the base theme as well (BGs not shown are her kitchen, exterior night shot, and bed.)

  • Punk House - Based off of community squats in the punk scene (but you have it to yourself)
  • Bohemian Hovel (Premium) - Free-spirited design in a country hovel
  • Cute Apartment - Cutesy and colorful, if your Robin likes that ;)
  • Occult House (Premium) - Maybe Robin is a Wiccan and/or loves Halloween?
  • Retro Home - A quiet and comfortable home stuck in the past
  • Suburban House - Named the "Hamptons" in all the files, but real places don't exist in RR :P
  • Village Home (Premium) - European house
  • Ranch (Premium) - exactly what it sounds like, live like on a farm
  • Beach House (Premium) - Colorful and full of green
  • Pink Paradise - Very chic and luxurious, also pink

I've checked out the Xander route but can't seem to romance him yet (maybe I shouldn't have Robin hit on him at the beginning? I'll try other choices soon) but something I've noticed is the game crashes at the end of the Pizzaz II scene (the friends route, not romance route). It just shows me a notepad file with a bunch of code.

skip seems to be working in open mode as well. mazel tov or pip pip in Yiddish.(fran fine quote)(the nanny tv series)

had some kind of code file crash when doing first non cheat play-through on pre emmitt route at the loft above tracy's bar have not re encountered it. it may have been a rare one time bug but game kept playing.

now then anyone who helps contributes and has cheats enabled be warned that certain ones will make the game get weird.

in the song department to clarify. emmitt route is awesome from start to finish because in the long run they both complement each other perfectly give each others current lives and pasts have not played other routes.

definitely looking forward to his epilogue being finished good luck will inform of other bug issues i find it.

interior design is really good by the way i like how you showed the open outside areas.

Hey there! Just found the game and oh my god it's amazing! I loved it so far, especially Dallas (though I found his route lacking... something. I don't know what, but when it ended it just left me with a feeling of "wait, that's it? there's no more?") and Wizz- especially Wizz. I love that his and Robin's dynamic doesn't really change even after dating, and I just, ugh, idk, maybe I'm just a sucker for angry/angsty kiss scenes?

I have a question though, are there any plans for a gxg route, eventually? I'd be super interested into one, and it could also add a bit more of diversity to a game that's already pretty different from other dating sims and whatnot I've found.

Anyways, I'm super eager to see how the game looks fully finished, thanks for bringing this game to the world! <3

Thanks for the feedback! We did have plans for GxG, but since it's just my little ol' self working on it right now, I can only take on as much content as we've already committed to. I still need to write Seth, Owen, Marcus, etc so I'm not eager to add more routes to my plate.

However, if we do a sequel or something, I do want to put GxG in there.

I'm not sure if this counts as a bug report but I've done Xander's route several times already and when I do his path once, for example, and check the Memorabilia, his scenes aren't there. I tried closing the game and opening it again but it doesn't do anything. The same thing happens with Jammy.

After finishing Story Mode with both Emmitt and Beau, I clicked "Ending" under Robin's name in the Memorabilia section of the game and was awarded the "What's Love Got To Do With It?" achievement when the scene finished, without having earned it.

I have to say i've just started the game this evening and i absolutely love it. The system offers so much more freedom than i usually see in otome and I love all of the characters I have interacted with so far. I definitely plan to keep my eye on this as it updated as well as keep an eye on the premium content. :) Overall this is a beautifully crafted game.

wizz's story was odd but interesting and i can understand why he was so mean because of the pain he was feeling not to be able to be near robin when he liked her so much and he really does have a great perspective on music and if he and robin had a child together he would be a good dad because he cares so much about robin.

i think the skip feature might be upseting the game

We are still here! I check very very often for updates. Can't wait to play Seth's route. I don't know if you have been busy with other things, if you've lost motivaiton or if the game is taking too much time to make, but, either way, I support you. Keep going!

This game has been really inspirational to me! I had no idea something as seemingly simple as a band simulator could be so fun and moving. The characters whose routes have been released are fascinating and have honest issues and faults that make the story that much more engaging. I really appreciate the wonderful experience you've created. If you end up releasing any future updates, I would definitely be willing to pay for them!!

I'm not sure whether you've already spoken about this, but I'm curious to know how the game was made. It seems like a really complicated game to me (programming-wise), especially the tile-matching game and the "outcome screen" which pops up after the band has played a gig. However, I only know a teensy bit about programming; perhaps that's why I think it seems so complicated :P

Also, if you folks ever need any help spell-checking or editing, I'd really like to help!

You know about Ren'Py, right? You learn Python the more you experiment with it. The basis of all of my games in Ren'Py start with a loop. Having one looping label and then slowly add something to it each time you want to add more functionality. For instance, start with the daily planner screen as a loop. The buttons lead to a different label with a different loop. Inside those buttons is another loop with more buttons, and so on. Add some functionality to each loop, including a way to get back to the previous loop. Google anything you want to do but don't know. :) That's my process simplified. It comes with a LOT of testing and failing.

I've messed around with Ren'Py, but never to this extent. That's an awesome explanation! Thank you! Unfortunately, when I Google how to program things, I'm often incapable of understanding the explanation :P

Well, hello! Firstly, i'm going to apologize in advance cause I know i will make a lot of mistakes in this message. I'm Alice, i'm from latin america... I don't know where to start; it have been a lot of time since an Otome Game make me addict; i play otomes since 14, and i left it because i feel that the main characters were always the same... Generally I download games but never end them, since it became really boring to see the same always. For curiousity -I mean, it was the first time i see something like "managing a band" game-, i download Rock Robin; and it results in an incredible surprise: I FUCKIN' LOVE ROBIN!!!!!! the girl is the baddast woman in the world...

I love the game, I love the music, I love the variety that offers. Literally, I couldn't stop playing until I finish the first route (I play Dallas first <3), and today i'm trying the open mode... it's more difficult than i expected to be, btw

I want to ask you (Since i pretend to try al the romanceable characters), how can i access to the premium content and to the cheat table? (don't mind me for wanting to cheat xDD)

And again, thanks for making such an amazing game... I'm trying to make some publicity for RR between my friends, but not everybody want to try an english game.

PD: another thing, i don't know, but have you ever think about translate it to spanish or other language? I'm really enjoying the game so far. The story is interesting, and the romances are all very unique. I mean, on Emmitt's I felt all butterflies and annoyance at Robin's denseness, now I'm romancing Dallas and I'm anguished and in tears. Good job, I mean it, lol. I'll also add that I am not one who laughs very easily, but this game has made me laugh so many times. Nicely done.

A couple of bugs I thought were noteworthy, though. I romanced Dallas so I had all the scenes with getting back the guitar, but even before then I got a cutscene where Robin gets her guitar delivered to her. I'm guessing that wasn't supposed to happen. Needless to say it made me extremely confused and I eventually realized it was a bug. Also at the AMPS Robin is wearing her dress, then when she goes to get air and sees Joel and Natasha, she's suddenly wearing her casual clothing and is for the remainder of the awards.

That really is the best way to write, imo. Beau's romance is also a lot better than I thought it would be. I had to go get my box of tissues again, lol. The part about the miscarriage killed me. I can't believe Sterling could talk about something like that as if it were no big deal to him. Though I'm surprised it never came up again, or at least it hasn't yet. It kind of seemed like an odd thing to just randomly shove in there. Nonetheless, all these horrible things that happened to her just break my heart. Dallas will always be my favorite, though. I have a thing for angsty romances and the friends-become-lovers trope.

Another thing I noticed, not sure if it's a glitch or what, is that some of the memorabilia that I definitely got doesn't show up.

I guess you're right that that's the only place where that piece of info is really divulged. I try not to spell things out for readers so I just know their history in my head and try to let it naturally come out on its own. Sometimes that's bad, like how earlier versions let it slip too soon about Dallas having a "history" with Robin, so the beta readers were like "WHY ARE WE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS?" xD

The memorabilia has been a thorn in my side for a while. While releasing new versions of the game, I tweaked the unlocking code and such for characters, so their unlocked state was re-locked for people who played before the updates. Maybe that's what you're referring to? If not, please let me know which chars/scenes are not unlocking for you.

So Dallas and Robin had sex in your story? Those are where those scenes you're missing come from.

I ended up deleting the post somehow, so I don't know what I said. They had sex in a flashback, if that's what you mean. I just realized I have the scenes at the beach. The ones I'm missing are Roof A, the two after Bass Guitar (I have no clue what those are, so it's possible I didn't see them) and the flashback after Love. I followed the walkthrough, so I wouldn't have gotten anything outside of that. If there was a scene where they had sex in the present then I didn't get it. :P

EDIT: Okay, I think I found the problem the walkthrough says July year 2 or later. I extended the time until the AMPs by spacing out the scenes since they start in May but "By the Pier" requires it to be at least July. Even when I do that, I still matter have nowhere near enough time to activate the scene. Between the time I finally get Beach II, it's almost time for the AMPs. If I hang out with Dallas, I can only get one scene a week. I don't have enough time to get "By the Pier" because the AMPs automatically start. It's impossible, unless I'm doing something wrong. It's a shame because I'm really curious to see the scenes. I think part of the problem is that those scenes don't count as required scenes. I'm forced to go to the AMPs after triggering all of the romance scenes, but since those don't count there's no guarantee I'll get them in time, if at all. I've tried about five times, and it isn't working for me. The time limit is too short.

No I meant sex in the present time, which is what those scenes are. I didn't require them because, for one, it's sex and not everyone is comfortable with that, and two, Robin and Dallas fallout again after that and it's a bit tragic.

I'm going to look into fixing this issue, but in the mean time you can use a cheat code to unlock all scenes in Memorabilia to view them.

I just finished it a few days ago, so I guess it depends on when you updated it. It's Dallas, "Dallas vs. Sterling', "The Dark", "The Peer", and the flashback after the one called "Love".

Btw did you know the walkthrough has random characters in it? Chinese or Japanese, I can't tell which. It's still understandable but I just found it a little odd, lol.

You have to agree to help him when he asks about rehearsing. That scene pops up if he has over 40% affection.

Are a lot of scenes triggered by affection? Which I assume relies a lot on gifts? I haven't been able to access Faust's scene after the guitar pick or the Duet hang out with Collin despite max affection. A lot of the scenes prove very difficult to trigger compared to the main story, though I suppose that's since it's still a work in progress. I'm just interested since the stories are so interesting, lol.

But seriously, great job with all of the stories. I never thought I'd play something as good as, if not better than, Seduce Me 2 and Cinderella Phenomenon.

Picked up the game. Accidentally got addicted to the game (easily makes top 10 in the genre)

First off, your characters are amazingly believable. Real people with real, messed-up lives and drama that is NOT manufactured for the sake of "Oh, I guess I need a conflict" but because of real life feelings. Makes the game brutal, but I think this is probably the most invested I've been in a cast in... awhile? And one of few where I care about making friends with other characters while on a route.

Dallas's route made me cry a little, and I loved the direction Wizz's went.

So... bugs:

Important but unhelpfully vague: There was a glitch on the "Public opinion" in free play where a series of errors popped up and "Ignore" loaded a screen with two of the "Top Album" and three of the "Top Single" boxes were missing, along with the back button. Clicking any of the forum threads resulted in the same errors popping up. It wasn't a problem with variables; I'm assuming it was a hiccup with the script that generates the list? This only occurred once, and it was three in the morning, so uselessly I find that I have no recollection of the error beyond the fact that it was more code than I wanted to interpret at that hour. (Sorry!) And since I had to start from scratch I lost that file and the traceback for it.

Less important: When viewing Collin's route unlocked via cheats in "Memorabilia", "Choreography" starts with an undefined variable "topics_story". Assuming it's the fact that nothing was unlocked organically. Ignoring lets everything play naturally.

Also triggered Robin getting her bass back (and fixed) before the "Confronting Sterling" arc. It... killed the tension of that arc a bit when she was frantically looking for something she already had in her possession.

After playing through Wizz's romance route, "Contingency", his dates, his hangouts, and a handful of Open-Ended mode scenes didn't unlock for me in the Memorabilia. (Also, not a bug but a minor gripe: the tabletop scene unlocks way before I get the option to trigger his romance every time I've played (whether I'm actively befriending him or not) It'd be cool to have a better chance of seeing v2, or at least getting a follow up comment if you get together after the scene?)

How painful is it to romance Wizz? I'm actually really hesitant because of their initial relationship. I mean one of the potential conversation starters between him is literally just "fuck you." XD

Ha! I get you. I was hesitant at first, too. Normally I'm skeptical about their type of relationship but... I think it's actually one of the ones that makes me happiest once they get to the end. The date scenes are really sweet.

Won't lie, there are some nasty words exchanged up until they get together (and that takes a long while compared to the other boys). The "Fuck you" is pretty friendly compared to some of the conversations they have. Robin, being Robin, has her temper, which puts her very close to the "This relationship is irredeemable" line once or twice in terms of actions, and Wizz says some nasty stuff that is, again, very close to making him an irredeemable jackass. But... to me they never went too far, and the resolution and the *why* to their actions is one of my favorite scenes in Free Play. If you can manage, I'd definitely recommend it.

Do you know if you can romance him if Rose is in the band, or would it be like Faust and Emma, where you don't stand a chance? Granted I'd feel bad for Rose if I did that. XD

You can romance him with Rose in the band. I trigger his scenes before an confesses that she's crushing on him, so I'm not sure how her romance plays out otherwise, but there's no block. (I do feel bad though. Rose is so sweet)

i had rose in the band and it hurts my heart when she finds out. sebastian asks if everyones happy with this and basically everyone but rose says yes. she just awkward laughs then pauses and says maybe. even xander and collin are ok 9or are at least acting ok. i litrally did the scene with every possible character lol) even tho the like robin but poor rose is heartbroke :(

I feel like you could interpret that either way, though.

is emma supposed to change clothes twice? i had the scene where she changes clothes and then in another scene she has her old clothes and at band meeting she then is wearing her old one again. the new outfit with the sweater is gone. it came back when we hung out. it's sort of just switching back and forth

After you unlock her new clothes, her clothes are directly tied to her star quality. I think it's something like 50. Go below and she's dirty again!

Wondering, when was the last time the walkthrough was updated? I know some things, at least in my version, aren't totally up-to-date. For instance, there are scenes not listed in the walkthrough, scenes the walkthrough says haven't come out yet, etc.

On another note, I love the song at the end of Dallas' route. Can I buy it on something like iTunes? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. So far the only way I've been able to listen to it is by replaying the scene over and over, lol.

i have a question about wizz.  after namecalling is apologies. it says its supposed to be automatic but is it supposed to start immediately after? because its been over a week ingame and ih avent gotten the scene yet.

basty's been back for a while. some of these cut scenes just don't seem to like me lol. first colin now wzz. probably just a problem on my end since others aren't having a problem.

found a solution! i just had to go restart and then never do the private gig lol. i think there might be a problem with sebastian's gig. i mean i did that and then i got up to the second scene with stella and the scene after that wouldnt trigger so i had to redo it again. ithink i had to do all of wizz's story before i could do sebastian's because if not then i cant do the wizz route

all new songs are suddenly listed as untitled is there anything I can do to fix that? same with a lot of the songs and albums on the top charts. might only be on that file tho. ill see what happens if i nake a new one. also i ussually don't point out typos since i always make them but there was one really important typo thata completely changes the meaning of the sentence. idk maybe it's n ot a typo. but when talking about dallas and sterling natasha says to robin "you love sterling." present tense. as if she is still in love with sterling. unless that's what she meant. i was just really confused by that. and idk if its an all the time thing but when i got hte scene where sebastian finds out robin is with wizz that when seth talk it  has his name as sterling

i just did a run with beau and i h ad seth in the band. when he talked it still said sterling so i think that might be a continous thing. speaking of that does beau know seth slept with robin because he was definitely not happy to see him lol

I have modified the security parameters as usual, to authorise my Mac to open it. I have tried to download it 3 times, but it still does not work...

Well, I indeed extracted the file.  I executed the .EXE icon, and than it appears and immediately disappear on my dock. Than, nothing happens.

Okay I did some research. Sierra handles Ren'Py games poorly. A format that I compile with used to support PC, Mac and Linux, but it is now broken for Mac. I will have to re-release the game for Mac only. I will try to do this soon, I'm sorry.

Hey, awesome game! I wish I found this gem sooner. I only have a problem, I'm on Dallas' route and my relationship score with Emmitt is very low. I can't play gigs because of that and therefore I can't get gifts for him so I'm stuck. What should I do? I'm out of money.

Welllll ... they haven't been released yet, but yes! There has been work done. :) For example, thanks to everyone's support, I was able to find the original artist again and commission missing sprites that will be important for Open Ended Mode. But those characters are also in Story Mode, so they'll have sprites there, too! And I'm thinking about writing extra content/re-scripting scenes so that you can see them now.

For example, here's Tracy (for Owen's route),  Sophia (for Beau's route) and Tiffany (for Marcus/Emmitt's route):

I think I'm in love with Beau (Side question how is is full name pronounced?), oh and how do I unlock Faust?, just to unlock him I finished Dallas's route even whilst feeling like I was cheating on my Beau. oh and is there a cheat menu that I can access?  if so then please tell me how.

You must recruit Faust into your band in Open Ended Mode for his story. 

You access the cheat menu by pressing F1 or changing the key binding to the letter "C" in the game menu.

Haha, I forgot Robin said that. xD Faust has 3 scenes in Story Mode that you need to see. They're outlined in the walkthrough in the top level of the game's folder. Essentially, see the bachelorette party, and then see him twice while shopping at the music store. If the prompt "Faust unlocked for open mode!" comes up, he's unlocked.

The cheat codes are included with the premium content, but you can email me for them at: maselphie AT gmail

There's a cheat to unlock everybody in open mode so that could fix that problem, too. Thanks for enjoying the game!

Really?! thank you sooooo much, oh and btw is Seth out? because with I was rewatching Beau's break up scene in memorabilia and I saw that Seth was an option. Other than in that break up scene, in all the other ones Beau is such a sweetheart, Ah you've ruined the world for me now, there is no such perfect man, he's just such a gentleman. Sorry I keep rambling on I just love the game so much. thanks so much for making it, oh and one last question, promise, How come I am unable to unlock all of Beau's scenes?  I have three scenes that I have still not been able to unlock and it is driving me nuts. I am so so so sorry for constently bothering you with so many questions.

If you send me a pic of your Beau memorabillia page I can tell you what the scenes are and why they are missing. There are some variations of scenes you may not see, for example, Rose goes with you to the AMP pre-party instead of Beau if you're fighting at the time.

Hello! Really enjoying the game thus far--blasted through Beau's route on Story Mode and now playing through Open Mode. It seems like not all of the available characters/routes unlock just by playing through one route, and I don't think it's included in the walkthrough. Is there a list somewhere of which routes/modes unlock which characters? Thanks so much! 

Edit: I think there may also be a glitch with song recording in Open Mode? During the recording process, I can see the song gaining in popularity, but then the final screen shows popularity of -1 -> -1 or -99 > -99. Both times this has happened has been when I recorded "Classic" songs. 

Edit 2: Another likely (very minor) glitch-- after signing to Piccolo, I noticed that in the expenses report it deducts the label cut, but says 0% rather than 75% in brackets as it should be.

Amazing, thank you for the link!! I must admit, I've been actively avoiding Dallas's route since I know it's going to be even more heartbreaking (and I totally already got all the feels and cried during Beau's route, even though his is supposed to be lighter). Looks like I have to do it though, since I'm excited to meet Faust and Jammy particularly. If I go back and start a new Story Mode game, will the characters unlock in the Open Mode game I'm currently playing? Or will I need to start a new Open Mode game before I can access those new characters? 

Also, two things: 1) I was wondering if you could clarify since I'm still not 100% sure after two playthroughs lol-- does "hiring a producer" for song recording actually do anything to the quality/popularity of the song, or is it just to cut down on the time it takes for recording? 

2) Any chance you'd be looking for additional writers for your dev team? Playing the game and the freedom of the band management aspect definitely got my creative juices flowing!

First things First.    It is a awesome game. I got totally hooked and played the game the last two days non stop.

Second.    I found an Typo in the forum post "Robin isn't slacking of, is she?"

there is written "if you are in a bad" schoud it not mean "if you are in a band"?

Third. I don't know why but in "story Mode" always my third Song List page disappears when I put songs from there in a Single or Album and want to use them in a gig and show back up when I start the forth song  page, they also disappear choosing songs for a single or an album during this time but are seen in the song list.

Fourth.        If I hire Marcus with a Guitar there always come's this mistake when in a gig.

Yes, there is. Collin is bi, Faust's brother is gay, Jammy is a lesbian -  If you're asking if there are female love interests, there are not. There is some Jammy x Robin cheesecake but nothing serious unfortunately. My future games will definitely be more inclusive in that regard.

Hello guys! Is anyone still working on this game?

Anyway, I'd just like to congratulate everyone who has worked on it so far! It's amazing! I've been playing it for 3 days straight now and I absolutely love it! It's such a breath of fresh air to have a protagonist who actually has a personality! (although Robin's might be a little too much at times... haha - but I still love her <3 ) I've laughed and cried with this game and I'm so grateful that you all have put in so much effort to make this game, thank you all wonderful people! <3 I feel like I've found a real gem here.

That being said, I've found some error bugs and weird french grammar on this game and I wonder if I should post them here?

Hello! I'm back! Just realized I forgot to mention something on my first post.

I'm not sure if this one is a bug or I'm the one who's doing something wrong, but I just don't seem to be able to make it into the singles chart! I even  released a 4.5 stars single ( with two 5 stars song - but somehow the single ended up being 4.5 stars, which is fine, I'm not complaining...) and I'm max popularity and still not charting... :'(

I don't have a problem with the albums chart though, I'm always topping it.

Can I just start off by saying you are absolutely amazing. I can thank you enough for still working all this time to put out more for your players even after what you already put out is not only extremely entertaining but so high quality. I've had this game downloaded on my computer for almost two years and I constantly go back to play it again. It is by far one of the best dating sims/visual novels I have ever played (and I have played a lot haha) Not only is the story so very well written, it's extremely realistic. The way she talks to herself, the way there are small sounds of the tv in the background or the bed creaking, the backgrounds and everything.

Your game made me feel like I WAS Robin, trying to prove to myself and everyone else that I was going to make a name for myself.

You have outdid yourself. I'm going to college this year for animation and video game design and I can honestly say you and your game are one of the reasons why. I can only hope to create a visual novel half as great as yours one day and I can't stress how much I really mean it.  Congratulations on the promotion at work, take care of your health and thanks again!

Hello! I posted a couple times on this message board/forum/etc. in the past a while ago, and came to check up on this project to see how it's going. I'm so glad a new update will be coming soon! I'll definitely have to replay the game before that, though! Thanks so, so much for continuing to work on this despite how hectic life is and how difficult it must be to find the motivation to keep going. Fun game! I really liked it! However, in Open Mode I started out dating Dallas, broke up with him for the German guy (whose name I kinda forgot...whoops), and then started dating Wizz with no comment from Mr. German. Also when I started dating Wizz, narration or Sebastian (or both) mentioned that I had to tell Dallas about it, even though I'd already broken up with him. 

I don't get it. I try to romance Emmitt, he likes me a lot but no matter what I do, when he finally makes me cookies and confesses he likes me, me (Robin) always harshly refuses him. What do I do wrong? Also... Even if it is indeed my fault I find it a bit unfortunate design that the romance fails because _my_ character's (Robin) does not do what I want her to do - there is no possibility to accept his proposal.

Romances in this game are linear, you just work to unlock them.

VNs condition us that if something bad happens, we did something wrong. However, relationships in real life aren't perfect. Confessions can be made and not accepted - but still come together later on. Part of the reason there is little to no story choices is to not give the impression that difficulties in these relationships are in any way your fault.

Robin has difficulty seeing Emmitt as an adult in the beginning of their path. That is no reflection of you, the player. It's simply a story I wanted to tell. Keep playing! :)

With the new update- will it be the final full update for the game, completing open mode, then just any bug patches, or is only certain content coming out? If so- what content?

Hey I just wanted to ask if open-ended mode had an "end point" to play through because the Memorabilia screen still has all the scenes I've already watched in my open-ended playthrough locked.

Hm, that sounds like a bug. They should unlock as you go. I'll work on addressing that.

To answer your question, no there is no ending to open-ended mode, as per the name. There are closures and the main story is Sebastian's so when that's over, that would be the most final aspect. I would like to add another scene that involves the original band, however.

Turns out what's keeping me from releasing already finished content is "feature creep." I keep wanting to add stuff to the game. I implemented a large-ish change to the core system and now I'm going through each facet to work it in. I think I should stop doing that. lol

The game isn't where I want it to be, mechanic-wise, but that's what sequels are for (if I ever make a RockRobin 2).

I would DIE if there was a second game, this game is hands down my favourite game on here, really love that you're still working on this, hope everything runs smoothly, can't wait for updates (I literally die when I get notifications hope I don't sound too fan girly aha)

I think it's great the way it is, honestly. Completing the character arcs would be perfect already, I get so entertained with the dialogues!

Also RockRobin 2 would be a dream come true (didn't mean it to rhyme but yeah).

I agree with Skeleton Unicorn, just finishing the character routes would be enough! and RockRobin 2 would definately be a dream come true but I'd be happy with just this already. I've played the game multiple times and even my husband likes it, he likes messing around with the band logo's and tells me how I should name my band and stuff haha. 

I do hope you find the motivation to complete this game, as I think it's truly the best visual novel I have ever played!

I think it's great that more content is still being done and while I'd like to see the completion of the main game's routes in the open game, I would love to see Seth's route even more. While there are, potential, heavy themes in this route I just love the possibility of exploring the creative dynamic between Seth and Robin.

I don't know whether I've said this before but I absolutely adore Robin.  As an, often, angry middle aged, peri-menopausal woman I find her extremely cathartic to play.  "I'm a fighter.  I'm a hellcat.  A demon beast with a bass guitar."  Thank you so much for a wonderful game with such awesome characters.

Just, loving this game and had to say it. I've spent countless hours on story mode now getting every scrap of story I can and every new thing revealed causes me to gasp or cringe, in the best way possible. Like damn I can't believe some of the stuff you have included in this story (and I love it). It's really screwed up just like real life and I never knew how much I wanted that in a VN before.

Anyways, love the game. Super excited for the potential of Seth's route because that seems like just... so much potential there. :D

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted recently. Sometimes the guilt gets me real bad and your posts really helped me through that. I feel ready to work on the game again.

One thing that would help me is if you guys would give me impression of what you THINK might happen on Seth's route or would simply like to see. The path is half-written (fully  outlined) and I stopped because I kinda felt like the path lost its steam, so I am looking for some inspiration.

I think there would be some talk about why he left the childstar industry, and probably some talk about the disillusionment with the media and how he was becoming someone he didn't want to be- then discussion about why he would come back into the limelight with Robin. Probably some tortured backstory about some drama, because hurt and stuff, and then likely how similar he and Robin are, and maybe addressing the concern that they could potentially spiral each other downhill?

I love all these suggestions for Seth he's an enigma in the first place but I personally would like to follow that route should he get one. I got a new computer so I have to re-download the game myself but as I'm reading through this I noticed there's been some updates since I've last downloaded it so this is all a good thing. This really is like a visual novel that breaks the mold. When I first seen it I was like oh I have to have this and I liked the epilogue for the childhood friend and I was looking forward to other epilogues cuz I know that they weren't finished yet I hope that there has been epilogues added or there will be some epilogues added. All I know is don't ever be discouraged because you're a really good writer and you have a really good thing going and you should finish it the way you feel it should be finished because I think it's something you should be proud of. Because I personally am happy I just happened to find it even if it was by chance I'm glad I found it

I don't really have a solid idea of what I'd be looking for. I'm a sucker for angst, and the whole drugs and one night stand thing, especially followed by Seth's reactions, seemed like prime ground for such things.

I'm so happy if you are still working on Seth's route!  I've been looking forward to his path the most!
It's really interesting and unusual how their relationship starts with "one night stand". I think it's the first otome where I see something like this and I really like it. Anyway, I expect lot's of passion, love/hate drama, jealousy and tension between Seth and Robin. I think those two have so much in common and Seth's route has so much potential.

I also agree with the reply of ZukieBabyIroh!. Seth and Robin are both very strong and creative personalities and their romance will probably be very passionate.

I'm so happy that this game seems like it will be updated more! I play A LOT of dating sims, but none quite like Rock Robin, which is my favourite game of the aforementioned genre.  I really like Seth from what I've played and am greatly looking forward to his route. c:

I think it's obvious he's shut himself in and doesn't want anyone to be close to him,  but still he yearns for companionship. To be honest I think that when he said that loads of girls walked around with his writing on their body isn't true, for some reason I think Robin is probably either the only one he's slept with in a long time or atleast one of the few, I don't believe he's slept with many people...I also think that he feels that he and Robin are similar and Robin being well..Robin is probably the only person who does not judge him on either his behaviour or the choices he has made.  She knows what it's like to be treated like Sh*t and their romance will probably take some time to really develop...and be really, really passionate. because they are both strong willed and creative, It starts with them obviously being attracted to each other and deepens because everytime Seth will try to push Robin away, she won't go. because that's how she is, she's there for you, she sticks with her friends, she's loyal....atleast that's what I think about her :)....and it's kind of what she's showed in other routes, either friendship or romance.

I still can't figure out Seth. On the one hand he seems indifferent, depressive and disappointed of everything in life, on the other hand he seems very emotional, passionate and determined. I think if he falls for Robin, his feelings might help him to get rid of his depression. Also I think Robin will motivate him to achieve his potential. I'm sure they can teach other many things and help each other to overcome their fears and psychological traumas. Also, I might be wrong but  Seth strikes me as a jealous type (the fight in front of Beau where Seth asks Robin to choose between one of them)… I repeat that I might be wrong, but I think if Seth have feelings for Robin, he will want her all to himself. It's one of the reasons why I expect some steamy and passionate scenes between them. Sorry for my bad English. I hope I didn't write anything stupid. I really love your game. It's one of my favorite otome games and I have to say that I've played lots of otome.

Frankly, I was avoiding this game for a while, when I saw it in the list of the most popular VNs. Mainly,  because I misunderstood the introduction. I thought Robin was going to take her ex , Stirling, in her newly made band. And it made me confused. I assumed that the heroine would be one of those lighly brained otome characters. I'm sorry for that. But I am curious in the genre and possibilities of RenPy engine, so eventually I gave the game a try.  And that's how I lost two days of my life.... 

The story is worth a good Hollywood movie! The characters were alive. I was amazed how good are the dialogs. I'm trying to make my own game for a while and reading this novel made me literally jealous (in a good way).  Every character has it's personality. How could you make them so alive? Other things, like programming features and graphics are very good as well. I didn't play everything yet, obviuosly. Only the Story Mode's stories. But, my personal favourite is Emmitt, I guess. Because, I  think he makes Robin better. If I may say so. He looked and behaved like a kid and revived a kid inside her. In a way, it kind of purified her. So she could start all over again. Become that person  she was in the past, when she was watching black and white movies, again. That's my opininon anyway.  I am so glad that I could see Emmitt finally grown up and found his call. If only I could see the conclusion of their story! I don't watch serials because I can't stop until the story is fully completed. How can I live without knowing the end of this story?! That's devastating :P

Also, it was funny, how the epiloge of the Dallas story (the time in his parents house) was almost complete copy of my life. I thought I am the only one who suffers throat problems when visiting husbund's parents ;D And that mom that comes around nonchalantly...

I thank you very much for your work and hope your life treats you well.  Your game is one of the kind and I cannot wait to finally get to see it fully completed and released. Literally.

And here are the bugs I incounted:

1. For some reason progress/time bars in gigs don't show anything. 

2. When I fire Jammy the error occures, which I can just ignore. Here is the short version of the traceback file:

I'm a tad confused about the timeskip in Open Mode. I had assumed it was a year, based on Robin's hair and the month. Which would mean two years after Story Mode starts, but Emmitt's stated to be twenty in Open Mode. So what exactly is the timeline between the two?

I was aiming for 1-3 years, you're correct. The length of the main story varies from player to player, so disregard the starting date as an indicator of time. I do not have concrete ages for any of the characters, but Emmitt can drink in Open Mode so he's at least 21. 

I kept the ages hazy so I wouldn't paint myself into a corner and the player could project whichever they liked. My personal projection is Emmitt starts at 18, ends Story Mode at 20 and comes back in Open Mode at 22. If I've stated Emmitt is 20 in Open Mode, that is a mistake because he should be at least 21. Do you remember where it was said?

Emmitt was at Tracy's Bar and asked Owen for a brew. Robin laughed and narrated that the law said he couldn't drink for another year.

Ah okay I can see the confusion. The line reads: "I grinned. Even if he was mature enough before, the stupid law said he needed another year. Now he had plenty." (At least in my current version. If it was re-written, my  bad.) She's recalling the time he was 20. I'll fix to be more clear.

Okay, now it reads: "I grinned. The last time he was here, he still needed another year to drink legally. This would be his first \"brew.\""

question about faust. i downloaded this once before and unlocked faust and he could do all instruments but now he cant unless im in no scenes mode. is that supposed to happen? i couldve swore I had him as a drummer in the past in open mode with all scenes. also robin's outfits kinda randomly keep changing at times

Hi! First things first, I absolutely love this game, it was very well made and worthy of the praise it has gotten! It brought different emotions and made kept me invested which is always great! I do have two different questions. I noticed that Emmitt called Robin "Bobby" more often than not. Is that a typo or an inside joke? Just for my own curiosity. Secondly, in Dallas's route, I got a scene where I got my 'Baby' back and we stood outside and talked about it and him repairing the strings for me and everything. In the end, it goes back to me never having gotten it back with the main story. Is this a glitch in the story? Again, just wondering for my own curiosity. 

It was common back in the day to give your friends a nickname just one letter off. For example, Rick with Dick, Meg with Peg, and then of course, Robby (aka Robin) with Bobby. It's super cute.

I've loved this game for years. (The stories still totally hold up to multiple replays.) I really look forward to the rest of the planned content being released! (Seth!!! >o<) I really appreciate that you're still around replying to things and working on the game. Thank you for making something so cool!

You're always going to have auditions, but you need to decline Dallas' offer for a ride, so that you ride with Beau and Emmitt.

There is a scene with him the next morning if his affection is higher than Emmitt's, but riding home with him in the rain is enough for his option to come up. Ignoring his comment in his intro helps with affection.

I know the game will never be finished, but I absolutely loved this game and played it multiple times last year, every now and then I check for updates! There was a couple of bugs when I first played but I'm certain they're fixed by now so I wont bother with telling lmao. I hope one day this does get finished or even in the far future (and it doesn't get finished) that it would be remade!

This is probably my favorite visual novel, and i love it to smithereens. The first time i played this game I was in high school and i fell in love with the writing, the characters, really just all of it. I was so amazed at how the characters felt so alive. Now im in college and ive finally gotten around to replaying it again. Every time I play it i fall in love with it again. The story just feels so real and strangely relatable, despite me not being a musician whatsoever lol. I love all of the characters so much, i dont think i could pick a favorite! Thank you so much for all of your hard work creating this game, this game really rocks.

I can't get this to work on Mac. Something to do with my Ren'Py installation maybe? It just won't start, no error, no process running. It gives the usual "unverified developer" on initial launch, I right click and "open", then "open", then double click... and nothing. Is it just me? Latest OSX.

Tried running through Wine (first time using it!) and it seems to work fine. :)

As an aside, if there is enough interest in a Discord channel to discuss this VN I would be happy to set it up, even if I'm not at all involved with who is still developing the game. I only extend the offer because I love to see discussion of it and I feel like RockRobin isn't talked about enough. It's a gem of a project and my all time favourite VN even if I haven't played it in years. This may be personal bias speaking, so anyhow - if there's already a discord for it, I would love to join it.

So I know this game is a bit older (at least compared to the world of "otome" games), but I do have to say I love everything about this game! I feel like the characters really have depth and perspective and it really adds volumes to the game itself. I like the aspect of managing your own band (well, should I say, Robin's band) andI adore that that was a huge aspect of the game. I felt like I was really playing, really getting involved, whereas with some other games that ave a similar style to this I feel a bit disassociated. Including an open ended mode just made the entire game even better! My personal favorite being Wizz, which is funny, because before playing his route I couldn't stand him, that really shows how many hidden layers each character has. This is one of the best games I've played in a long time, intoxicating and really draws you in! I wish this game was more popular and had open ended modes for each character and I try to tell everyone who will listen to give this game a shot.

Hello,  this is  my favourite otome game of all time. The characters are so elaborate. I loved the game so much I decide to contribute  so I donated and discovered you could get premium content. The problem is that my f1 key is broken, I saw in the thread that you told someone to change it to the C key but I don't seem to be able to do that… (Am I that dumb ? (。→∀←。) Well I Don't if you will respond but thank you for making such a good game even though its not finished and stay safe <3.

After playing RockRobin and listening to the sound track, it really got my curious rock music and bands in general! 0: Thank you! I know Robin is supposed to be a general character, but is there someone in real life she would sound like (such as a voice claim or something?)

So i have the premium code and it tells me to press F1 to get to the cheat menu but when I press it I only get the help menu .

If you're talking about the game's help screen, You must be IN GAME for it to work. It will not work from the main menu. F1 does something different for some people on some OS, so I included an option to toggle the key needed to press to the letter "c" on your keyboard. In order to toggle this, you must go into the game setting and go into the "Advanced" tab (button near top) to go to the page where it is on.

I absolutely love this game, and I probably won't ever get tired of it. Out of the "main" romances, Dallas is my favourite by far. Such sweet, sweet agony. 

Question: Will Wizz and the others get a CG too, or is that just for E, D and B? 

Hey, I'm having a problem with Xander's path. The last scene I get is when Robin and him hang out and go back in front of the diner he used to work at and then I get no other scenes. Am I doing Something wrong ? thanks
