Gonna have to give this one the full 5/5! What a mind bending and great concept - only thing I think you could change would be the audio smoothing of the movement sound, it sounds really well and fits with the music but is a bit grating at times.
But wow this game is great! If you worked on establishing a specific art style for the maze and character, created more levels and maybe added a tiny bit of a story, this would be a great game to put up on Steam! Please keep working on this, what you've made is excellent!
Yeah, even without specific detailed sprites, the player bouncing and squeezing along is a good idea we might put into our game for this jam, Onegeon (cheeky plug if you want to check it out!) to enhance the game feel. Also, the soundtrack was really nice, is it a royalty free one or did you make it yourself?
I love the set of simple yet deep philosophic thoughts embedded in the narrative. The funky music that kinda blends with player's actions is also very neat. Oh, and kudos for Conway's game of life reference :) Great job!
In interesting idea, reminded me in a strange way of The Stanley Parable, what with the forth wall breaking. I'm not super keen on the design, as it felt like trial and error at times. However, if the narrator explicitly referenced the number of times you failed, or had different dialogue on your second / third time through, this trial and error design would fit the theme more.
This was a very smart game and with a very inspiring message. Very intuitive and whimsical - solid entry!
That was good! I like the twist and the commentary that follows it. It's funny and makes me go like "Can I out smart you!?" :D
Thank you for your feedback and kind words, and I am glad you liked my narrative, it was an important part of the game for me. Originally past and future concepts were tools I used to design levels, later I decided to add them to the game as a gimmick that even seeing the past or the future is useless lol.
Thank you :)
This was kind of original and surprising, kind of "what!? what is just happening moment" :D But overall it's a solid entry. Well done!!
Such a bizarre game! I enjoyed the music and the guitar sound effects that sounded like I moved to the music at times. I honestly thought it was going to be a horrible game where you just played the same level over and over but it's different every time and hilarious. Nice job thinking outside the box.
Thank you! I am really glad you enjoyed the game, esp. music and sfx, and yes this was intentional and somehow related to the theme (the guitar was playing B9 chord repeatedly, and the jump and bump sounds are high and low B notes).
I am afraid that the very brief description of the game, although intended to increase the surprise factor of the game, might have just backfired, and also the lack of polish could have lowered the expectations of the game.
Thanks again for the feedback, it really meant a lot to me :)
Wow! I didn't expect that at all. Really nice idea you had here. I found it a bit difficult to actually figure out what was going on with the future and past thing, I just ended up going for process of elimination, I got there in the end :D. The sound when you move / touch walls were a bit jarring but I really dig the music! Really cool unique idea you have here! I think it could be expanded upon, smoothed out and be a really great puzzle game.
Really funny concept you have right there!

Surprising game, which surprises you in the very beginning. Love level design and humour of the concept. Also, like those funny sounds.
I was pleasantly surprised by the levels in this. I liked that you changed up the way the levels changed each time instead of just making blocks appear/disappear. Sometimes it scrolled, sometimes the entire thing shifted, sometimes it was a 'blob'. Was cool! (And I completed it so, bonus :D)
Only thing I wasn't a massive fan of was the sound effects - namely the one when you hit a wall. But that could be easily fixed.
Very original! I like that the game is forgiving when I make mistakes. Keep up the good work :)
There was indeed only one maze, kind of.
Cool idea, and I like the humour of the game. :)
