I love the set of simple yet deep philosophic thoughts embedded in the narrative. The funky music that kinda blends with player's actions is also very neat. Oh, and kudos for Conway's game of life reference :) Great job!

Developer

Thank you! I feel grateful for how much attention you paid to my game :)

Reference to game of life? 5/5 it is

Developer

Lol thank you!

I am thinking about having themed sets of levels, game of life theme is one of the themes I am thinking of :)

In interesting idea, reminded me in a strange way of The Stanley Parable, what with the forth wall breaking. I'm not super keen on the design, as it felt like trial and error at times. However, if the narrator explicitly referenced the number of times you failed, or had different dialogue on your second / third time through, this trial and error design would fit the theme more.

Developer

Thank you for the valuable feedback! The suggestion for the dialogue is really good, and I agree the narration system can use some improvement... I really appreciate it :)

This was a very smart game and with a very inspiring message. Very intuitive and whimsical - solid entry!

Thank you! I feel touched by your kind words :)

That was good! I like the twist and the commentary that follows it. It's funny and makes me go like "Can I out smart you!?" :D

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it :D

This game was a very interesting and original experience. I really liked the short texts throughout the part. I found the concept of the past and the future a little complex but you have a very good idea. Good job :D

Thank you for your feedback and kind words, and I am glad you liked my narrative, it was an important part of the game for me. Originally past and future concepts were tools I used to design levels, later I decided to add them to the game as a gimmick that even seeing the past or the future is useless lol.

Thank you :)

This was kind of original and surprising, kind of "what!? what is just happening moment" :D But overall it's a solid entry. Well done!!

I am really glad the game made the intended effect :).
Thank you for trying my game!

Such a bizarre game! I enjoyed the music and the guitar sound effects that sounded like I moved to the music at times. I honestly thought it was going to be a horrible game where you just played the same level over and over but it's different every time and hilarious. Nice job thinking outside the box.

Developer

Thank you! I am really glad you enjoyed the game, esp. music and sfx, and yes this was intentional and somehow related to the theme (the guitar was playing B9 chord repeatedly, and the jump and bump sounds are high and low B notes).
I am afraid that the very brief description of the game, although intended to increase the surprise factor of the game, might have just backfired, and also the lack of polish could have lowered the expectations of the game.

Thanks again for the feedback, it really meant a lot to me :)

Wow! I didn't expect that at all. Really nice idea you had here. I found it a bit difficult to actually figure out what was going on with the future and past thing, I just ended up going for process of elimination, I got there in the end :D. The sound when you move / touch walls were a bit jarring but I really dig the music! Really cool unique idea you have here! I think it could be expanded upon, smoothed out and be a really great puzzle game.

Developer

Thank you for trying my game! Your words encourages me not to leave it here but to continue experimenting with it, and it sounds like finding new sfx is a must now lol
Thanks for your review!

For sure the strangest maze I've ever been in. Very original!

Thanks for stepping by!

That was... unexpected 1/1

Really good job, move indicators it's nice touch. Art is kinda dull and sound is little annoying, sfx when moving or hitting a wall, and background music, but this is just nitpicking

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I am glad you liked it :)

Surprising game, which surprises you in the very beginning. Love level design and humour of the concept. Also, like those funny sounds.

I was pleasantly surprised by the levels in this. I liked that you changed up the way the levels changed each time instead of just making blocks appear/disappear. Sometimes it scrolled, sometimes the entire thing shifted, sometimes it was a 'blob'. Was cool! (And I completed it so, bonus :D)

Only thing I wasn't a massive fan of was the sound effects - namely the one when you hit a wall. But that could be easily fixed.

Developer

Thank you for playing the game! I am glad you enjoyed it.

The soundtrack and the sfx are really just a gimmick, a literal interpretation of the theme; only one chord (B9) and only one note (high B for jump and low B for bump), but it ended up being annoying to some people. Again thank you :D

What a nice idea! The game of life level made me smile :)

Very original! I like that the game is forgiving when I make mistakes. Keep up the good work :)

Developer

Thank you :) I wish life were that forgiving

There was indeed only one maze, kind of.

Cool idea, and I like the humour of the game. :)

Very funny, most of levels arrive to surprise the player in different ways. I was not expecting the game of life one ^^

May be the sound can a little annoying and the difficulty to easy as I did not need to use the past/futur vision to finish the game but as the main interest is its surprising concept it is not a big problem.

Good job !

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback. The sound might be annoying, I agree (it is only one cord repeated lol, I was trying to stupidly adhere to the theme). The past and future thing was a helpful tool to design the levels themselves, but I don't know if it is helpful for the player. Anyway I decided to put it there, if it wasn't useful it might be just fun :)

Wow. That was deceptively hard. Excellent concept and execution :)

Developer

Thank you :)
