I like how the shooting feels and that the arrow damages enemy while returning to the character. But I don't like small level and sluggish movement. Also, from my point of view, that you lose instantly if an enemy reaches the trophy is a bad idea. I think it would be better if an enemy took the trophy and started carrying it to some point in the arena.

Developer

hmmm interesting idea

I enjoyed blasting my arrow through hordes of enemies but I felt like I never had enough coins to get upgrades. I also didn't feel the need to platform because if you're at the same height as the enemies you'll just shoot through all of them then need to go pick up the coins before they fade away.

Alright game, but I feel this game would be better top down so you an more movement to avoid enemies. Downside is this is another 1 Bullet vs Wave game that I cam across in this Jam, not a bad thing really but does lose on originality.

Developer

Half way through making the game we've thought about top view but it was too late. I actually ddidn't had an idea that so many people will chose one bullet :D

Nice game feel, the boomerang arrow is really cool!

Lots of potential here.  Scores well for theme and design, lots of 1 bullet/arrow games but this is one of the more unique so 4 for originality too.  To sum up, looks good, sounds good, plays good.

A little sad that you lose you coins after finishing the level. The first level had stuff that I couldn't afford, even though I never spent any gold.

Art and sound play well together. I like the idea of the boomerang arrow, I'd like to see where else you could expand that mechanic (guided arrows, homing arrows, etc) just to make it more exciting.

Nice music and visuals, you really got the era right. It was much easier once I read you could get your arrow back! I really liked the arrow flowing back into them on its return it is a nice mechanic.

Developer

Thanks for feedback :D

Quite good execution! the mechanics works well

Developer

Thanks :)

So satisfying to pull the arrow haha

Good job and best of luck!

Developer

Thanks :D

Nice game. However, sometimes it feels like it's impossible to get the arrow back without getting hurt.

Developer

You can use right mouse button to make it come back to you

Really good. The music was really good as well as the sound effects. The art was cute and really sweet. The player was smooth and the bow and arrow mechanic is a pretty decent spin on shooting in games. You might be better off letting the player know that the life bar is for the trophy, as this confused me when I first played. Anyway, great entry!

This is pretty good, controls are well explained and the arrow works for holding off the waves
It might be good to indicate better that the top lifebar is for the trophy thing in the center

Developer

Thanks for feedback :D

Very fun and polished game! I love it! I loved that the controls were very responsive especailly the arrow which came right back after clicking! Great job with this game! I did feel though that the game was little repetetive... I could just stay in the middle shoot, call arraow, shoot other direction, call arrow, etc. Apart from that this game has great potential :)

Would love if you could check mine out too! Or not, no pressure ;)

Developer(+1)

Sure! I will check it out :D

Really enjoyed how the arrow came right back to you and scored hits along the way! Awesome game and I can't wait to see it expand more! There was only one time where the arrow wouldn't come back to me and I had to run and get it. Usually I'm able to get it right away. Great game!

Developer

Thanks! After the end of GMTK We will make some updates and our own graphics :D

First Time when I played, I feel hard to return the arrow back. I guess sth wrong on the TriggerEnter. But I checked the controls on description and I knew how to play. If you can put the tutorial on the game would be better. I like your homing arrow in this game. Looking forward to play more levels in your game. Very nice.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, unfortunetly I can't update it until GMTK has ended

The game is very cool, like having to pick up your arrow after you shoot it, it gets the player to move around a lot more. The problem was my arrow would fly into the cave where the enemies would spawn and I couldn't grab it. It makes it difficult to grab your arrow after you get hurt, because once you are invincible you can't grab it, which I think it would be a lot easier if you could grab arrows when you are invincible. I liked the pixel gradient effect looked very nice, so did the art too. When the game starts with all of the moving text was very satisfying. I really like the icon of the game. The bent arrow to make a one was very creative. Overall the game was great with a few flaws.

I made a one shot game like yours if you want to check it out here is the link. No pressure you don't have to check it out.

You don't need to go for arrow. You can use right mouse button to make it come back + it attacks enemies

Submitted(+2)

Oh that's really cool, thanks for letting me know. Would have been nice to have a in game tutorial, but I guess this is a game jam game so you probably didn't have enough time. I am going to replay the game then. Very unique mechanic that's awesome.

Developer(+1)

I was thinking about making instructions but we wrote on the site how to play :D

Submitted(+2)

Very addictive for me due to the powerups and level up mechanic. At first I found it frustrating that enemies often spawned near coins, but it ended up adding a nice rick-v-reward mechanic to the game. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! It was actually made in a way that if you don't want to loose lifes then you need to wait but you will loose some coins also keep in mind that we didn't had time to balance it very well

Submitted(+1)

I like the retro theme, both the looks and the music! The game is fun, but it seems to easy to stick the arrow out of reach =/

If you'd like to check ours: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/463231

Developer

What do you mean by "out of reach"?

Submitted

I shoot it directly to the left or right and then can't pick it up anymore as it's close to the end of screen. Seems like a bug.

Developer

Hmm weird, was it in first level? How did you tried to pick it up (right mouse button or walk on it)

Submitted

It was the first level, tried both, but if arrow was somewhere where you can walk over it,  walking over it would pick it up normally.

Developer

I can't replicate this bug so maybe it's rare

Submitted(+2)

Very cool, like Titan Souls and Towerfall had a baby :)

Hey ! Nice little game.

What I like : the overall idea, the arrow that comes back when you right click and kills enemies, the opportunity to improve something at the end of each wave, the graphics that are simple but well done

What I would have liked : do not lose money between two levels, slightly cheaper improvements, more variety in enemies

Good job :D

Developer

We kinda forgot to store money between levels :D
