Fun game felt nice to run around, although it was sometimes hard to pick up hammers because you run so fast. Would have been cool if there was a kind of hard mode where there is only one hammer (and for this game mode make them more aggressive towards the player and not let them run at the hammer all at the same time otherwise they would just slaughter each other). There was one playthrough where i wasn't able to finish because the enemies got stuck in the gong. The dash feels a bit useless, not sure wat you could've done with that differently though. I liked that the hammer throwing isn't too easy you really have to get better at the game to beat it but it's not impossible either. I feel like i've given a lot more critisism than said positive things so i just want to say that I enjoyed your game :-)

We're glad you enjoyed it. We're planning on working on it further and every comment will be considered.
Bugs like enemies stuck in the gong and the game running way to fast on some computers are going to be the first thing to fix.
We were thinking of more than one game mode. First idea was picking how many hammers, and how many characters there will be in a match.
We're thinking of singleplayer, couch multiplayer, and perhaps one day (if we think people will like it) P2P multiplayer.
Hammer throwing will probably get revamped into picking a direction instead of picking a point where it will land because we think picking a point to throw would be a nightmare on a gamepad. But yeah, the idea behind picking a point instead of direction was to set the skill bar needed to win higher.
Congratulations for the game! Keep making games, each game jam we get more xp and level up as developers. Rated <3
If you are interested in Tower Defense, check out our game. A tower defense where you can control only one tower at a time.
Had a lot of fun with this one~
Took a few dozen tries to survive until the end, but even failure was hillarious in it's own right
Sorry if mentioned before but I did find that occasionally the hammer doesn't hit the gong; happened the first time and I honestly got the wrong impression until I tested to see if it actually made a sound ^^;
Still, a minor hickup in an entertaining game, nice job!
A fun game with an innovative menu, but the enemies were way too fast and you picking up the hammer was hard. I think a mechanic where you can get the hammer back (like in Thor) would make the game better (aka more fun!). Also, it's not exactly original as there are similar games with similar mechanics, because, as far as I think, this is essentially the "You only have One Shot" mechanic. (My game's title also has the words "One Shot" in them, but it's the enemy who has only one shot, to kill you. Fun game, which seems to be heavily inspired by battle royale.
The game *is* fun, but I'm just giving a few suggestions. (I've given a good rating, don't worry)
and this is, by far, the longest review I've ever written.
It is much fun to try beaten all and finish as the only one.
I would add settings to change difficulty and quantity of enemies.
The arena was way too big for a 'battle royale' game. Also it was way too easy(for me at least)
Interesting theme, and your START button is the best :D Maybe the camera is a little bit too slow for the very fast character, but overall really cool! Could imagine a multiplayer mode?
Unfortunatley it seems we had a bug which caused the game to run at different speeds on different setups. That's probably why the player was too fast for the camera for you.
Glad you liked the concept! And yes, the gong button is an idea we didn't want to take out even after we changed the looks of the game.
Hey cool game, so very short but if you want to have more fun you could add a shield that would throw back the hammer but slow / stop you for a few seconds. The fast walking of the AI is a bit too much I think but could be handled in higher levels.
Nice game anyway!
Thanks for trying it out and for the feedback :)
We might consider the idea of a shield, though we'd much rather like the game to stay as dynamic as possible. The speed of the characters is actually the result of a bug we didn't notice during playtesting. It's already been fixed (along with a lot of other things) and is just waiting for the rating period to end :)
Sorry it took me a while to get to this, I've been trying to get through everyone who rated us and give a reciprocal and it's taken ages. xD
I like the idea (and the Wilhelm Scream :) ), but the controls are really janky and I was getting a really funny AI bug where the characters would run back and forth over the same two positions, only moving a little bit at a time (I have a GIF of the menu demoing it, if you're interested - prod me on the Discord. :) )
I think this could make a really good mobile game, especially on tablets, with a bit of polish and expansion. :)
Hey! Thanks a lot for trying it out!
Yeah, the AI's a bit janky, never should've gone with out of the box pathfinding :P We're not sure if the game's gonna go on mobile, but it will definetly get a couch & online multiplayer modes (nothing too competitive, more for playing with friends)
Even though we've seen the bug already, we'd love to see that gif as well, I've contacted you on discord :)
Very fun game! I love chaotic games, they're just so funny! It's very challenging make it even more fun to play! I have some minor complaints though: when restarting the hammer takes a long time to fall, and when clicking it doesn't throw exactly where I click (which is a bit infuriating). I think that has something to do with the 3D perspective... Nontheless, great game! The sounds and voice acting were perfect! Great job with this!
Thank you! We're glad you liked it.
The aiming and throwing system is clunky and instead of throwing the hammer to the point where you clicked, we will most likely implement just throwing it in the direction of your click. We experimented with the exact point throwing but as these things happen it was ok for us because we were testing it and learning it over and over again. We had an outside person try it and tell us it's bad way too late in the jam.
And yeah, the hammers fall way too slow, but we just didn't think it was that important in the end when we were short on time and decided to change the whole game aesthetic from a shitty looking "realistic" aesthetic to the stylized one you can play here.
I'm sorry It took so long to post a comment after downloading your game, but I was so into it that I wanted to finish it before posting anything. I really loved the fast action combat system and the music was so epic I was really into it. there's a minor bug where you throw you hammer but not at the dong at the start and it allows you to move and kill enemies before the game started but, minor bug so it doesn't care. It's amazing that you managed to do it in 48hours only! Anyway, Great game I really loved it
Thanks. We're glad you enjoyed it. Well the thing is the original idea was that you could walk around and have tutorial messages displayed all over the level like a lobby in which you try out your moves. Being able to kill enemies before the gong was supposed to be allowed but the game was still supposed to count how many enemies were there when the gong started and how many you've struck down yourself. Kind of like a natural difficulty setting. In the end we didn't have the time to set up the tutorial properly for that idea. So you found a bug, but you kind of found a feature that didn't make the cut :)
Funny game wich have a similar idea as my game. And it's not bad, as the realisation is different, and isn't bad. The only thing I really don't like is the speed of the character, it moves too fast.
I have no idea what the only one mechanic is but I did have fun playing! Maybe you could make it so the map shrinks as the players decrease because at the end when there are only like 2 or 3 guys left I have to run around the whole map looking for them. Other than that I think its fun
Movement is weird, got hit by my own hammer, not sure how it fits the theme, don't know why you would throw a hammer, instead of swinging it... but it is the most fun I've had with all the games of the jam. Single-player battle royale.
I love this game, it feels like a great type of chaos! Outside of the game jam I feel like this game would be really great with some sort of painty UI!
It's challenging! I think you should also drop things like food which can make you sprint faster and different weapons/items which can do different things (reach further, protect) - And another thing that I feel would make this game cooler is a flashlight! so you can't see too far around yourself! and a timer! These are only suggestions for if you want to further develop your game.
You achieved loads for the 48-hour Game jam, well done!
(- Amy)
