Very cute game. I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I'd like to see this game made with more ingredients. I know it wouldn't be Ramen Origins anymore then but maybe that would be one of the chapters. Or a story about a cook who started with the mighty ramen and got famous but started changing the recipe and either got good or bad reception for it. Either way he starts with this ramen and then it spirals from there.

The html5 version is a little bit laggy.

Also, I really like the game, and I hope I am not missing something, but where is the only one? Only one goal?

"Crafting/cooking game with only one recipe/dish" was the original idea.

Oh. Can't believe I missed that.

My terrible cooking skills in real life translated into the game XD. Loved it, either way! Great art and the music was so catchy. This was a fun little game!

Ok for a game made in a weekend, WOW. I can't wait for the next iteration, A tutorial will be nice

Sweet game with nice graphics. I liked the overall athmosphere, music and sound effects. Felt very polished.

But I would suggest to give the player an introduction to the mechanics with easier recipies. I think a big role model for your game was Overcooked. In the early levels you just have to craft easy recipes to get a grip for the chopping, cooking and so on.

But for 48hours quiete impressive. Nice work and keep on Jamming! :)

By the way here's the link to my game if you want to give it a try:

Cute game, something to make the player move faster would help combined with a better management of items next to each other. Also like you said make the tutorial in game.

Nonetheless, cool game!

This is a pretty complex game to build in 48 hours! I totally dig the graphics/sound and ability to grab and interact with all the different items. I think if you spent some time polishing this up it has the potential to be a commercial quality game, or at least a mini-game within a larger RPG or something like that. Great job!

Not really my type of game, but the presentation and overall execution is really top-notch. Great entry, even if not my style ;)

This game has awesome music! :]

Developer

Thank you! :D

Nice game! Good music and and nice pixelart! The gameplay is fun but it took me a while to understand what I have to do. Other than that, great game!

Submitted(+1)

The art and music are very good ! Good job for that game, the idea is also original !

Like a lot of people said in the comments it's a bit hard to understand how to play and which action does what. Even with the tutorial I had some troubles with space and alt maybe I'm just too tired right now :).

I might have found a bug. I took a turnip and cut it a lot.  The "chopped" word kept being written. So I got a turnip which was "Chopped Chopped Chopped ......"

Developer

Yeah, I did put that intentionally there. But it was not much use for the game.

It’s a small thing, but if the tools could also have their name appear like the ingredients, it would help the initial play session, took me a bit to figure out what was what. Anyway, overall it’s well put together, would be nice if there was more back and forth in the objective though, but looking at the other comments that may just be me.

Loved it :)
Wasn't sure whether you had to boil ingredients first, then add all to pan and boil... did that and it worked at least.

I had fun just messing around with all the ingredients and tools. Figuring out how to chop items took me an embarrassing amount of time. The name got a chuckle out of me!
