Well... That's some intense level design ^^ !
I only went this far :
I'll have to come back to this one later, so many games to rate still !

This game looks great and feels great. The art, the music, the animations and the juice. It makes me think of minimalistic super meat boy.
I really like the changing king names but would prefer it if there was a bit mor randomization. Meaning if I saw Charles I and then Louis III because the game doesn't need to go through the whole list of names before landing on the same name twice.
EDIT: 5/5 5/5 5/5
This game was super well polished and I feel like you did adhere to the theme. One color is tough to pull off. You did that well. On top of that I feel like this is just a really good game. Super satisfying to complete a level and just feels good in general. You've found the juice. This is a work of art.
I you have some time please play and rate my game:
The challange here was to make the game read in only 1bit(2 possible colors). You did this SO well that sadly now lots of people seem to think you JUST made a plattformer. Of course, there's lot's of other stuff to like here. I loved the transition between the levels and how every level starts where the last one ends. Make breakable blocks respawn and it's perfect!
Excellent Super Meatboy style platformer. I do have to agree with the other commenters that the theme isn't really visible in the game much though.
Also, I managed to skip part of the level in the last two levels of the game. Though finding and doing the skips was equally fun and difficult, so I liked them. Were the skips intentionally designed? They were fun.
Thanks! That's fair, a lot of these jams pulled off a more mechanically based theme much better which is something I didn't think about instantly and it shows. The skips weren't intentional at first but after a few play tests I found them too and thought it was good to leave in for skilled players. Thanks again.
I don't fully see the adherence to the theme (apart from the aesthetics) but it's a really fun and polished game. Simple graphics that look gorgeous and a clever idea.
Please consider rating mine:
Feels as if the theme is a bit weak here, but the fact you put this together in 48 hours in and of itself is one hell of an achievement. Really amazing game, probably my favorite so far in pure gameplay.
The game is super fun, I absolutely love the level design. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but sadly it has nothing to do with the jam theme.
PS; The time window to drop onto the moving platform and then immediately drop to the lower one in the last level is a bit too short. Maybe make the platform a tiny bit longer?
Jean Francois and Paul enjoyed playing this game on their stream last night. The game is incredibly well designed, it handles well and the soundtrack was on point. Instructions were clear and no death ever felt unfair. The mixture of vector and pixel art was a little jarring, but that is the only bit of criticism they could muster.
Great job!
Agreed! But it was quite the opposite. I had a few themes feeling solid at the start but since I spent way too long polishing the platforming controls and feel, it slowly fizzled out. :( I then ended up deciding to see if a game like this would read with one colour, but admittedly the theme is hardly present mechanically. Learned a lot from this jam, I'm way too used to working on longer projects. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated :)
Well done, reminds me of super meat boy but this is kinda different and has it's own controlling system.
Really solid platformer, feels juicy to play, but the theme is completely absent in the actual mechanics
