The atmosphere was super spooky. I enjoyed trying to make my way around unseen.  I also really liked your take on the theme, and the way you visually represented sounds was cool.

Great job!

Thanks you! Glad you liked it!

The tone and atmosphere in this game is amazing! Really good job. Actually reminds me of the first jam game I ever made.

Developer

Thanks! Glad that you liked it!

Scary... immersive and atmospheric. Great job on making the effect!

PS. is there anything special you used for lighting or is it just normal unity funcs? do you know good tutorial on 2d lights?

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! There is a great video by Brackeys about 2d lights here. Brackeys in general make great tutorials anything unity related. They stopped making videos, but most of them are still relevant.

In my game, I changed the intensity of the lights based on how loud a sound is and made it fall off over time. Added some shadowcasters to the relevant objects and voila.

Man, this game was so creepy. It was really atmospheric and really gave off a horror vibe. Well done!

Criticism - Some of the gameplay is kinda annoying at times because you do something and get killed for no reason.

Suppor - The juice behind the monster makes it feel extremely scary, which I love.  It's also an insanely innovative idea.

This was a great all around game and a brilliant submission to the jam! You did a really good job of providing a true horror feel within a top-down 2D game, and the mechanics of it were creative! At the start I was avoiding calling colleagues so that all of 'us' could survive, and by the end whenever the monster came for me I sacrificed my colleagues instantly haha! Hits the mark on all areas, well done for a great submission and producing something different in a short space of time :)

Thanks for liking it! I really appreciate it!

Nice idea of less noise = stay alive longer. When that thing chases you down it's actually quite terrifying! However after you get caught there is no way to escape the monster without restarting the game. no matter what you do when you respawn the monster chases you down.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry to hear that the monster did not reset when you respawn. Only a handful others have had this issue, and I can't pinpoint it myself just yet as it hasn't happened to me. It's definitely on my to do list!

Really simple gameplay with a twist of horror. I'm really surprised this worked out so well with only a week to develop. Congrats!

Developer

Thanks!

How can I be scared of a black screen and few pixels??? This game creates the best immersion of he jam by far. OMG this AI, it seems like magic for me that it worked so well. And that red effect on the screen to indicate where the beast is located. Man you really did a good job on this jam, greetings!!

If you could check my game it would be an honour for me.

Developer

Thank you very much for your kind words! I really appreciate it.

I'm gonna check it out for sure!

This game is so amazing. It fits the theme perfectly. Loved the ominous music, great choice there. I had such a thrill playing it. My heart would start pounding when seeing those red lines, and how badly I wanted to survive made me kill some of my colleagues, feeling bad for them. I loved how the enemy would come randomly from any direction. This game is a complete package and is one of the best in game jam I have seen so far. Amazing job!! All the best man!

Also, if you have some time please play and review my game too. Thank you!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it!

I'll definitely check out your game!

This game was super cool! I loved the lighting effects, makes the atmosphere way creepier! The only bad thing I could say is that I kept getting spawn camped by the monster lol. But I really liked it nonetheless!

Developer

Thank you very much! Sorry about the spawn camping, that was an oversight by me.

Nice game. Fits theme perfectly. The enemy is very good designed, so you know what would he do, but at the same time, you don't know from where he could appear. Sometimes I started the game and the enemy was so close to me, so I couldn't run, but then next try he was going to different direction, so it is fine.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated!

Awesome horror game! Really enjoyed the visual and sound effects, they perfectly matched the horror theme. If there’s one thing I’d suggest, it’s fixing the issue with the lines sometimes appearing between blocks, if you used a tilemap there should be an option to toggle that. Outstanding job!

Developer

Thank you very much! I completely have not noticed the lines between the tiles until you pointed it out, thanks for calling it out.
