Really cool little game! I really enjoyed playing it and really thought the 2d pixel art first person game was really cool! I really like the visuals as well. I found the game alittle bit challenging at first since didn't know what to do but learnt it very quickly. Great Job!

Very nice and well polished game. It just lacks something to be good and fun. I mean after playing it 2minutes i had already seen everything game has to offer. Still very good for jam game and it has some nice polishing and satisfaction with dashing and killing enemies

Very cool style and if possible I'd LOVE to see this VR! Loved the art style and gameplay, one thing I would recommend is having enemies be darker if they're far away, that way it would be easier to tell the distance. Great submission!

Developer

Whoa, that's a really good idea! I don't think I'll have time to implement this in the update I'm gonna push after the ratings over, but I'll definitely try this out!

I had fun trying this one out. The visuals were very solid except inside of the gameplay. The world was kind of basic but I understood why due to the game concept. The game was very fun when the mechanics actually worked. The aiming seemed to be the biggest issue. But other than that, you had a decent amount of polish and good animations + visuals! Good work and keep it up! The ninja dash mechanic is always cool.

I streamed it here:

Developer

Whoa! Thanks a lot :D I’ll check out the stream after dinner XD

I’d love it if you tried it again after the rating periods over, I’ve added some better indicators of when you’re in range of an enemy and what distance you can travel after the amount of dashes you’ve done. So hopefully,  you’ll find it a little better :D

That would be awesome! I'll check it out again afterwards!

I thought the visuals were very good, and the game was very unique.  I'm able to tell that you put so much work in this by the overall polish of the game.  I had some trouble with aiming, but that didn't detract from the experience too much.

Great work!

That's a really nice game, I especially like the visuals :)

Scored about 25000, aiming was a bit hard for me at first but I had a blast once I figured it out. Combo system and cursor turning red was a nice touch!

You know what I like about this? Most people making pixel art games, only get it about 80-90% of the way. This is 100%. The polish here is fantastic. The game play is super novel. The death anim reference is perfect. Nothing to complain about. Can only want more.

Really unique game. It's sometimes hard to see how far an enemie is away from you, and if you can reach him with a dash, but other than that, it's a great game.

Wow! This game is really unique from all of the submitted ones. Good job!

So juicy! Love the visuals and gameplay! Wish there was a whole dungeon/lvls to traverse that way!

This was pretty cool but I would be trying to hit an enemy and never get close enough. Did you add something where if you slash too much the enemies run away? Sort of annoying when you can't find an enemy and then the one you see just runs away...

Developer(+1)

It's the difference in AI:

  • the Rams run away and then charge once they're far away enough
  • the Skulls try to maintain a particular distance (just far enough to dash to) while avoiding their surrounding enemies
  • there are some skulls that group together and follow the player closely and seem to have a smaller hitbox - that's the glitch I wrote about, they should have a bug sprite not a skull
  • then the fish stick near the bottom and slowly try to get underneath the player

So, I assume you were dealing with a Ram, and yeah I agree that it's annoying because that's how I usually die. But I made it that way so you can't just stand still and click everything around you. I figured they'd make you move around more.

Interesting, yeah I figured you did it for spam reasons haha. The skulls that follow you made me think of the cops in Cyberpunk lol.

Such a great game! I reminded me of devil daggers.

It so action packed, really keeps you on your toes :)

Congrats on the game!

Cheers

Developer

Yay! Thanks a lot, Devil Daggers was one of the games I used as a reference, so that's what I was going for!

The visual style is one of my favorites of the jam, I completely love it. To be honest, I'm very bad at your game, I never lasted more than 10 seconds lol, but that's just me, this is an awesome game, congrats! :)

This is one of the most unique ideas I've seen so far. The art is AMAZING! The hit boxes could use a bit of improvement but still. You should make this a full game or at least put this mechanic into a game your making.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I've already tweaked with the hitboxes a little to make them more fair, I'll upload the new version after the rating period of the jam is over :D

Great idea. But for me it was too difficult to play, lousy me(

the game is awesome but you can add slow-mo  because its hard to aim
ps:add a low quality in setting its too much for my laptop

Developer

There’s already some slowmo when you hover the cursor over the enemy, but I’ve been messing around with the value of it, so it’s more noticeable :D

Submitted

will you add a low quality setting?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about doing that, because I figured the post processing wouldn’t run as well on some people’s computers. So yeah, I’ll try to implement it :)

Wow, beautiful game
