Am i just dum or do you lose whatever you do. Still great game with grteat atmosphere and it has some really deeb meaning lol
i also streamed it on my twitch feel free to watch a vodhttps://www.twitch.tv/tipu_real
Thanks for playing and thanks for streaming it! And there were supposed to be a few more endings, however there was an incorrect variable when we submitted the game, so I'll be fixing that once the voting period is over :)
Seems very original playing to this game. It really makes feel you bad about whatever you choose and tells an interesting story. I am glad that I could try this game, is a very worthplaying experience. Greetings!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the comment, and I can't wait to update it to make it even more playworthy and overall more spooky!
Really creepy game! But I really liked it, the atmosphere was tense and chilling! Well done!
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad to hear you were so immersed!
A cool game that reminds me of The Platform. Was that your inspiration? :) Even though it wasnt that long, I think I will remember this game from the jam and you should be very happy with it. I dont really know how to approach giving it feedback- the atmosphere was good though the sounds seemed to end after the title screen for me. Maybe if there could be more options rather than give and take, I could see the premise on more of a point and click adventure if you wanted to expand it and maybe have some more things to do around the room, because there isnt a whole lot to it for now. But as it is, its cool for sure
Thanks for playing, and yeah 'The Platform' was our main inspiration, and we thought that it was such a great fit to the theme, we couldn't resist! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our game so much, and I'll definitely have to add more audio to the intro and credits scene as that completely slipped from my mind when making it! Thanks again for the feedback! :)
Oh, it was way more creepy than I thought. What an amazing and haunting idea. The atmosphere was just freaking crazy creepy. It was short but impactful. Thanks for this amazing game!
Are there 2 endings only or more?
Thanks for playing and I'm glad to hear you got so immersed in the gameplay! There was supposed to be another ending where if the player made a certain amount of good choices, then they would receive a letter about getting get free, but that was a mistake on my end as I forgot to change a variable before submitting a game, however, we do plan on fixing that after the submission period is over.
Super cool game! The narrative is fantastic and quite chilling and the atmosphere really take it to another level. Beside from the story, I especially love your presentation, the font choice, the menu,... all very clean and fit so well with game.
Very interesting and memorable game! I really liked it! Great job!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it so much!
Very good atmosphere in this. Nice and easy to understand interactions. I did have a few bugs when the note seemed empty or I'd get the same message. I tried but don't really know how to win, can't seem to get past day 5. the sounds do a good job of pulling you into the world and the writing was nice too
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing! Apologises about the bugs, we do plan on fixing that after the jam submission, there are only currently five days, so we'll make sure to mention that in the notes at the beginning. The writing was all thanks to DSFrostfall, he was the lead narrative designer!
Very creepy atmosphere loved that. I did feel like I was very generous and still got yelled at by the Administration lol forget those people lol.
Thanks for playing! We did have more positive endings, but I forgot to change a variable before building it, I'll make sure that's in the next update, thanks :)
A pretty cool game experience! However, I'm not sure if there was more to the game as I kept only getting two endings no matter how I picked ( I did an all take run, all give run, give then take alternating, take then give alternating). I see from some of the previous comments that there were some bugs so that is why I was thinking it might be the case. Overall, a pretty unsettling and atmospheric game, great job!
Thanks for playing, as well as the feedback! There were supposed to be a few different endings, one where the player even escapes, so I'll make sure they're achievable in the next update, that and all the bug fixes!
The game was so cool the visuals the music the game play the theme you only had very minor bugs that didn't have that bad of an effect great work dude <3
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback! We plan to fix those bugs right up once the voting period is done, thanks :)
An incredibly atmospheric take on the theme. Though it was held back by the bugs, a post-jam cleanup would really strengthen it, as it was still captivating for the time spent with it.
- My favorite part was the presentation of the concept, it was very clean and let you really just be enveloped by the atmosphere presented.
I liked how elaborate the menu's were, and sometimes they had flourishes/an unnatural cheeriness/casualness in their description that really had you like 'yup, these people are crazy'.
The letters were quite intense and well written, very matter-of-factly as if it's just another day at work for them, but descriptive enough for you to both regret the situation and wonder what other situations could exist, elevating the atmosphere more.
- Regrettably as atmospheric and captivating as it was, the bugs especially hurt this kind of goal and experience. Besides the common ones I've read in other comments, I had the letters seemingly completely ignore what my decision was, and frequently got the same letter as well. That quickly brought me out of the experience. However I still played through multiple times and reached the end once, reading the new letters I saw with interest to get invested in the atmosphere I imagined you were trying to achieve.
I think one of the questions for this game is, do you want a player to play it once, or play it through for different endings? If once, I think the hunger system works well (though as you're aware you need to change that first letter mentioning the bar). Because the player is aware they're getting more hungry, but they can't know how much is too much and the risk weights more heavily.
If however you want players to go through it multiple times, an option to keep the same atmosphere without a regular bar at the back indicating hunger, and in addition to the vignette have the font images give/read/take be a tone of red filled equal to how hungry you are. That way you can feel it as you make the decision, and it's clear, but it doesn't disrupt the clean scene you have.
Some more sound design would elevate the experience too, instead of the kind of 'bing' sound when you make a decision, an eating sound when you choose to have the food or an elevator shaft like sound when you give it would have you feeling the impact of your choice more.
Thanks for such an in-depth comment, filled with feedback, it's very appreciated. I'm glad to hear you were very immersed in the gameplay, but I apologise if the bugs took you out of the atmosphere, we do plan to fix said bugs once the jam is over, just to then we don't miss any last-minute bugs players may have encountered. We'll definitely take the UI suggestion into consideration when displaying the player's hunger, as we should've made it clearer from the start. Thanks :)
No worries, happy to hear it helpful.
Glad to hear you'll be refining it for a post-jam finished release, good luck with that :) .
Thanks and good luck to you too! :)
really nice game graphic were superb!
ui looks great
but i think text font should be changed you could find more nice fonts maching your game!
i use my fonts from
fontspace.com
may be you could find nice ones there
Nice game really enjoyed!
Thanks for playing, and thanks for the recommendation, we'll check that out when the voting period is over and making it easier to read for players!
Really eerie concept delivered with a strong mood, that reminded me a lot of the recent Spanish film The Platform. The restricted mouse movement made me feel super claustrophobic which really added to it all!
Like the others below the menu thing was slightly annoying, as I wanted to jump right back in after I lost the first few times. I also thought it could be good to freeze the mouse movement while reading the papers. But, hey, these are minor in the grand scheme of things.
Really great idea with a very strong affect!
Thanks for playing and I'm glad to hear that we managed to make you quite immersed in the atmosphere! I hadn't thought of pausing the mouse movement while reading, but that's a great idea so I'll have to add that in the next big-ol update, apologises about any other bugs you encouraged!
This was interesting man! I tried several rounds find the results below:
31:20 Floor Number 5
Thanks for playing and thanks for recording footage of our game, we feel super honoured! Sorry about the bugs you encountered along the way, but glad to hear that our menu choices made you hungry haha
Really cool game with a really great atmosphere.
I just noticed a minor bug with the main menu when i tried to play the game ie. it doesn't work when i try to replay the game after one play through because the cursor is not enabled.
And are there just two possible endings or more? I am curious.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere! Sorry about that bug, I'll make sure the mouse is enabled after the voting period is over. There was supposed to be a good ending where the player receives a letter about being let free, but I forgot to change a variable back, so I'll make sure that works next time too!
Very cool and unsettling game, love the concept. I enjoyed reading the letters and learning more about the families down below and the administration. I would have recorded some actual screams or moans though, as that would bump up the creepiness factor by a ton. Nice work!
Thanks for enjoying our game so much! We'll definitely add that in our next update, there was an attempt but for some reason, the moans and groans weren't randomising so I'll fix that for sure, thanks :)
Great idea, I wish there was more branching paths though.
Thanks for the feedback! We plan on adding more paths after the voting period is over, that and many bug fixes!
A nice short entry for the jam! I automatically thought of the movie that had the concept of this.
You've surely taken me in that setting, and I was ready to sacrifice myself for others.
But when I read the "kimchi", I wasn't so sure anymore. 😂
Really solid entry you've got! There are some very minor issues, but only one was preventing me from replaying from the main menu, the cursor wasn't there. Maybe make it reappear at restart.
Anyway, thanks for this experience, it was definitely spot-on with the theme, immersive and unsettling, so good job guys!
I'm super glad to hear you've watched the movie, once we saw the theme for the jam we just couldn't help ourself, I am also glad to hear the kimchi was just too irresistible haha.
Thanks for letting us know about the bugs, apologises if the bugs ruined the immersion a smidge, but we'll get on them right away after the voting period, especially the mouse situation!
Thanks, thanks, thanks!
Really cool! A bit confusing for my 2D-focused brain, but really cool! Sounds and "music" (can you call it that? Ambience sounds?) STUNNED me. I feared I was going into a horror/jumpscar-y game at first!
Thanks for playing! Apologise about the gameplay being a little confusing, we'll try to make it easier for all kinds of players in our next update! Glad to hear that you were immersed throughout!
It's gonna be great, I'm sure!
Really liked the story telling even trough just text. Just mybe release the cursor after completing a playthrough because I had to reastart the game every time. Really well made adaptation of "the platform" or whatever it is called.
Apologises about the mouse disappearing, I was meant to release it when back in the main menu, so I'll definitely fix that soon! Thanks for playing!
