Very cool Concept man! Find my video review here:

46:30 Brush Rush

Thanks man for the video review. Cool to see someone else play. Helps pinpoint areas of improvement with level design.

Really cute. Brings back some line rider memories. I couldn't figure out how to navigate around space to plan out. Not sure if I missed a control or if that was intentional. This game feels made for a creative mode or level editor.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. That was intentional to force the drawing in real time, but a lot of people are commenting similar things. Perhaps I should have allowed a pan and edit feature before launching to give some time for a "set up" and take a look at the course before going into the "real time drawing" portion.

Fun game. I love the graphics. It would be nice if you would play my game.

Really nice game, I love the art style :D

I'm wondering how you created the brush painting effect, it looks great.

Music fit the mood very well.

Awesome game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment!

The brush effect is done by instantiating circle colliders at a set mouse position delta and then connecting the center lines with a line renderer component. Then on the line renderer, I just have an oval sprite with some softness around the edges to make it look "wispy".

Firstly, I loved the art style and the paint is so adorable that I wanted to draw more and more. And also, I loved the game and the setup. Great choice of music and adorable sounds.  A very interesting idea. Great work! Keep it up!!

Also please play and rate my game if you have some time. Thanks!

Really fitting art and music and sounds. The gameplay was deceiving though! Most draw the path games you first setup your contraption and just press the start button to see if it works. And if I'm not mistaken the intent here is to draw after the launch, but that took me some time to realize. The theme was touched on, but I think if you let the players draw as much as they want instead of making it limited.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I was debating back and forth on whether to make the paint unlimited or not, but I decided against it at the last minute. Perhaps adding the gauge took away from the tie in to the theme of the jam.

Such a lovely game! I adore the art and the noises that the little guy makes. I would add a restart button to quickly start over. Otherwise, great work! Keep it up!

Simple and fun game. It needs more levels! Great game!

(P.S. if you draw lines around your dot, and slowly draw into it, you can send it flying left, off the map)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I wish I had time for more levels too!!! :)

One of the play testers found the same bug and was doing some pretty cool tricks with the launching, so I decided to keep it as a "feature" haha

It was pretty fun, but it made the game look a little bit "rushed..?" Don't worry about it though, but just take it into consideration! ^-^

I really liked this game :')

Sound music and art are nice. The concept is nice too. At the second stage i got stuck in an infinite bounce loop after drawing a small dot beside the mountain.

Playing this game was really nice! Very relaxing and laid back, the lines you draw are like it's actually painted instead of jagged lines, love it! Very satisfying sounds used as well, made drawing very fun. Seeing as it's the main mechanic of the game, very nice! Level design is simple, but not too easy as well.

What a creative idea! The one thing that could be better is restarting the level slightly faster, maybe don't lock the player from using the space bar to launch.

It's really cool, I could definitely see this as a mobile game. The art style is really cute and the gameplay is fun!

This game was so cool! The paintbrush mechanic was very innovative and the art of the game was great. The audio I actually really enjoyed, with the cute bump sound and the BG music was spot on. I got stuck sometimes in bouncing loops because I suck at the mouse control. It needed a reset button or key. It did mean I got to see that amazing main menu and level select scene multiple times though. That scene is outstanding!!

Developer(+1)

The reset button was actually in the pause menu if you hit ESC and if you ever get in a bounce loop you could right click to erase the line. I guess I could have explained that better. Thank you for the feedback :)

I like the painting mechanic. I haven't seen anything similar in this game jam yet.

I really liked the whole sketchbook/playful atmosphere of the game! The painting mechanic of the game is done really well! Maybe the camera could have been zoomed out a bit more, because I often didn't know how far from the goal I was (that's just my personal opinion though!) Overall, I really enjoyed playing this very well polished game!
