This is easily one of the best games of the jam! I loved the puzzle design, art and music!
I only have one complaint, and that is to have to dialogue stop playing after the first reset. It's small I know, but it was a bit annoying.
Great Game! 5 stars!
This was a solid puzzle platformer! I enjoyed the atmosphere brought together by the solid art style and great audio. I found that some of the longer dialogue gets cut off. My laptop's screen is small and I wasn't able to see some of the stuff beyond the left and right of my screen. Other than that, outstanding job! You should be proud!
Good. Way too good.
Very creative design. Astonishing graphics. Amazing SFX. Awesome music. I have nothing negative to say about this game :O
EDIT: Actually... I just found one. It's the last level. I have got a feeling this is unintended but the last level can be solved by just burning and pushing the right barrel. And I think the level design in particular can be way more compact -- I think there are way too many unnecessary terrains in the levels that just clutter the screen. However, the puzzles themselves work awesomely -- and it's still a very impressive game you made in just a week.
This was another solid platformer that set itself ablaze amongst the rest!
Theme:
I think I was a little confused on the theme for this. Maybe the more fire used the less health you had. Or less health was more fire kind of thing. Which if that was the goal, then you did a good job with it!
Visuals:
A very solid and polished experience. The Sprite work was great, while the particle effects were top notch! The game was pretty minimal after all, so what you did have, was just done very well!
Innovation:
To be fair it is another platformer, but it is a very good platformer that add puzzle elements, quick reaction times, and funny and cute dialogue. I think the set yourself on fire as the main gimmick was really a great idea and gave the game a lot of character, and was a pretty inventive way of including puzzle elements.
Sounds/Music:
I saw on your game page that you used music assets that wasn't your own work, which I had to dock points for, but the music you did select and how it was used was very good along with the sound effects! The subtle whoosh of the fire, or the retro jump noise, and the dialogue text scroll sound bites were all so well done!
Overall:
A platformer, which you set yourself ablaze to race around and solve puzzles before you turn into a pile of ashes. Sounds interesting, and is interesting. The tight controls of the game with a fun puzzle mechanic that made you race against the clock and think ahead with an overall polished experience made for a great gameplay session. Thank you for your entry!
I streamed it here at minute 57:
Thank you so much for playing. I watched the video. It always brings a smile to my face to see other people playing my games, and more so enjoying it. I am honored! ^_^
Your game is so creative!! I loved the theme, the visuals, the music... Had so much fun playing it. Congrats <3
I'm glad! ^_^ Match and I thank you for playing.
This was a fun little game. It's overall very solid and well polished.
How does "less is more" fit into the game though? Additionally, the jumping felt difficult to pull off on edges. Maybe coyote time would really help there.
It would be nice to see how much I've burned after putting myself out. The first time I reignited myself, I didn't know why I immediately burned up. Some way to know how close you are to burning up after putting yourself out would be helpful.
When you push objects, they slide along the ground after you stop pushing them.
Those were only some small issues. This is a really great game though and I enjoyed setting myself on fire in order to solve puzzles.
Thank you for all of that amazing feedback! ^_^ If you want to know how I got this idea from the theme, you can check out my devlog down below. However, to summarize, the idea is that the more you burn, the less time you have to finish the level.
I think this game mechanic is really neat ! Making the player interact with its environment and having a sense of urgency makes me feel like I need to plan ahead and react fast, I love it !The music and art goes well together.
On points of improvement I would suggest to lower just a little bit the sfx and maybe having a smoother jump.
Other than that I find it great, I did not finish it but I will definitely give it a try!
Thank you for the comments and feedback. You are correct. I do need to work on my audio skills.
I haven't managed to play a lot of games, but this is my favourite by far :) ! I loved solving puzzles in this game. The visuals are very pleasing to watch and the player movement was nice to control. Maybe one thing I would tweak is the player burn time, it felt a bit too short but didn't ruin the expirience. Great game!
I am honored that my game is one of the ones you managed to play. ^_^
Really cool concept and nice execution. The fire spreading mechanic is cool and looks pretty neat! There is a nice puzzle element to it that you probably could exploit even better, so there is a lot of potential here I think.
Great job!
Thank you! I'm glad you had fun with it!
This is a really good game! Good level design, good mechanics, good visuals! I especially liked that the water falling down interacts with the player. Really good job!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great job! This game was a complete package. Thoughtful level design, responsive controls, great character design and dialogue. I could see this being expanded to a full game, gives real super meat boy vibes. If I had to offer any critique it would be to add a bit more friction to the floors. It got a bit slidey at times. This was fun :)
Sounds great! Thank you for the feedback. I am considering continuing this afterward. :)
Hey, I enjoyed everything from this game, the pixel art, the music the concept, one of the best crafted in the jam. And I think I just love running in fire haha Well done!
Jajaja. Thank you! I'm glad you like it! ^_^

Fire mechanic combine with gravity lead to some tricky level.
Neat level design.
Sometime a bad jump is very punitive, and wait for the fuse to burn is frustrating (i'm not very good at platformers, so I didn't perform all the levels.)
The music makes me think a LOT to megaman.
Great game.
Thank you for all the feedback! And thank you for playing. ^_^
Amazing game!
Thank you! ^_^
The puzzling aspect of this game was so unique. The visuals were amazing! (Especially the water bouncing around your head) One of my favorite games from the jam.
Amazing piece of work!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)
One of my favorites! This was so well done, loved everything about it, great job! Maybe make the game a tad bit easier in a jam so people can progress further and see all of your work... still an awesome game!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. And your feedback is very accurate. ^_^
Well this was delightful! The writing was fun, the platforming was mostly responsive, and the puzzles, while on the easy side (good choice for a jam game) were engaging and highlighted the game's strengths excellently.
As the game was really solid, my criticism will be nearly nitpicking: the boxes and barrels slide after the player stops pushing them, making them feel slippery and out of the player's control, which is not great for a speed-based puzzle game. And the music could loop more seamlessly.
This is my favorite game from the jam thus far!
Thank you so much! Your comments mean a lot and your criticisms are really helpful. ^_^
This is an awesome game! The pixel art is great and super cute, the water particles were a nice addition, the music fitted perfectly with the game but the best of all was the level design, very well done, wish I could play more!
I will take this comment and strive to make more levels in the future!
You definitely should!
I really like this. The pixel art is charming and the gameplay is great. I wish that the particles were the same art style though.
Thank you for playing, and your comments. ^_^
