Nice concept certainly one of the more interesting entries
Thank you!
Really cool game! The visuals are just like a real desktop, which was very fitting. The different hazards changed the game up a bit, but having one or two more would make the game less repetitive. The font you used is in my opinion not very readable, which makes the intro a bit hard to follow. Really well done on all other aspects!
Thank you for the feedback! If I do update the game, I'll definitely add more attacks. :)
Very cool and interesting take on the theme. It really took me by surprise. Great job!
Thank you :D
Really creative and cool concept that fits the theme well. I don't think that the long text in the beginning is neccesary as the game itself is a lot of fun. I'm sure the surprise factor of the attacks is part of the game but a little warning could make it a lot more tense too
Thanks! :)
+ Cool concept, fits well with the theme
+ Liked the different attacks - especially invert!
- Quite repetitive
- Didn't like the files just killing you when you opened them
- I didn't realise until a couple of replays in that you are the cursor, meaning you have to dodge the projectile attack
Thank you for the feedback. I'm always looking for ways to improve the game!
Unique concept. I think there is a bunch of potential here. First thing you need to change is allow the enter key to confirm delete, moving the mouse back and forth is tiring. I like how you can open the internet browser for the menu and stats. Here's an idea if you wish to develop the game further.... You could be a remote IT support guy and at the start of the level you choose a difficulty for example child, teenage or adult and then you remote log into their computer to clean it up but as you do so they are still browsing the web and creating files that you have to sort into certain folders like (photos, videos, music etc) freeing up CPU. That would be amazing. You could have levels where you need to clean 3 computers in a town to move onto a city, then a small business and finally a large corporation.
Interesting idea, I'll take it into consideration. Thanks for the feedback!
Surprisingly hard with such a simple concept ! Really enjoyed it !
That dreaded Code Defender 7000 really didn't pull any punches on my attempts, a slight warning before it comes would be a pretty good addition to help players prepare for it.
I noticed the details you gave to the different files and their extensions, as well as the clock being replaced by the game timer. Really nice touches !
Well done :D
I'm glad you noticed the little extra touches. Thank you for playing :)
It doesn't seem much at the start but then the code defender attacks! I loved how you implemented this game. The Upside Down, Invisible, and then the fake files. Really Loved how you handled everything. The art was perfect for this game. For me, the art and innovation you put in stood as the highlight! Thanks!
Please consider playing and rating my game as well. I would really appreciate that!! Thanks!!
Thanks :D
Nice game! I love the sounds to it! It would be nice if rather than having to click yes you could use the keyboard as you have to go from clicking the mouse, to pressing delete, to clicking the mouse, which isn't really smooth!
But a really nice idea nonetheless!
Thank you for the feedback :)
Great concept. It has a very polished feel to it. Nice sound design too, God job!
Thank you!
Cool idea. I really enjoy games that do the whole desktop aesthetic. I liked the sound too. If you ever want to expand on this, maybe some files need to be preserved and some deleted. Might be fun under the time pressure. Good job.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'm always looking for ways of creating interest
I never thought the backspace would be a the main button for a game
Haha, neither did I until the game was finished!
I really enjoyed this game! The design and UI was really cool! An old windows background was such a neat idea! Loved deleting the files and folders! The sound effects were great really loved all of it!
Good job!
Thanks :)
This is a really fun entry. The concept of "just deleting files", as stupid as it sounds, is pretty enjoyable :). The biggest gripe I have with the game though, is that there is no signalling before attacks happen. Usually when deadly attacks came, that was just the end of me. If I was lucky, I would survive one by chance. Adding some signalling on when they start and during those attacks (e.g. a little indicator of where the explosions hit, a few milliseconds before it happens) would probably give the player some skill-based chance of dodging, making those deaths feel less random.
Good job with the Windows-like interface and the browser :D. Looks really fun. Nice work!
Thank you for the feedback :D
Really fun game!
:)
really cute and funny, I like the way you fit it to the theme, just maybe warning us about when the proggram comes will be nice, that way you will have a chance to dodge the first projectives, or the explosions.
good job!
Thank you!
Wow! this was really fun I really enjoyed the little pop up window and was total not expecting the bombs super cool!
Thanks! :)
This was a fun one! Very unique concept and it fits the theme nicely. I liked the "events" that made it harder to delete. Reminded me of Warrio Ware.
Interesting interpretation of the topic. A bit lacking at least the most basic sound effects. But overall it was fun.
Thank you for the feedback! Not to be rude, but how was it lacking sound effects? I just need feedback for next time I do a jam!
Oops, it seems the problem was in my browser. When I ran the WebGL version, there was no sound at all. Although everything was fine in the windows version.
Ah okay! Thank you ;)
When playing I had a lot of fun with this. It was simple concept of deleting files combined with avoiding the big bad enemy. As others mentioned, it was difficult at first to realize that the player (mouse) would take damage. The ui elements and overall flowed very nicely. The gameplay became repetitive mainly due to how simple the main gameplay loop was. This does not mean the game was boring at all though. I could easily see this as a mobile game that would be a nice 2-5 minute distraction! Good work. I streamed this game here:
Thank you! :D
