I loved it, very fun to play indeed!

The game uses the idea of concept 'one bullet' pretty well. I like different levels and upgrade system which makes all the difference to the game. However, I would make character movement a little bit differently, and would add some acceleration and friction.

Ok games, upgrade system is neat although i dont like that you have to pick up bullet that only stop after awhile. There was a time where bullet stuck with enemy in corner and i cant retrieve it.

Controls were so intuitive that I did not have to look how to play.  Really fun.

Nice game, but it would be better with more sound effects and more squashy effects. At the end, those are slimes, and when you say slime, i wait for more squashy and a more rewarding shooting feel. Good job overall.

Great job!

At first I was like "again with this one-bullet concept?", but the upgrade system really took me in. It adds enough replay value to make the game pretty addictive, and I found myself unable to quit before defeating these damn crowned slimes.

Easy to learn, engaging gameplay and clear design. Overall, very fun to play!

Happy that you liked it.

Good job. Nice One shooter, Check mine https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462385!!!

It's a solid game, and I like the concept, there are 2 things in particular that would make this stand out:

  • Game feel: for a game about having only one bullet, that one bullet does not feel impactful. Screenshake, damage flashes and hitstops could be utilized to juice up the gameplay.
  • Clear communication of game mechanics. The first time one of the portals spawned two enemies, I felt cheated. I lost life, even though I stayed clear of the portals. If there are two enemies spawning, show two portals, so the player can prepare. It's frustrating to die just because the game did not tell you that the portal did not equal the enemy position this time.

Ok, thanks for you feedback, it's noted.

Solid game, only issue this game blends in a bit with the other 1 Bullet only games that has filled up the game Jam. Again pretty good, but not very original.

Developer

We tried to be more original with the rebound of the bullet and the upgrades system.

I really enjoyed the progression in this game. I could see this as a rouge-like where the maps are randomly generated as well.

Developer

Yeah, it could be a great idea too, thanks.

I see a lot of potencial in this. This was so much fun! There is everything we can ask for: enemy variety, different levels, upgreades, progression! This was one of my favourites, and the mechanic of having only one bullet fits the theme 100% and adds a little bit of tension and decision making. I love it!

Thank you so much for your comment ! Happy you enjoyed it like that :)

I had fun with this.  Not the best of these one bullet shooters I've come across but fun nonetheless, upgrades were a nice touch.

Thank you for your feedback

I got engaged in the gameplay. It has good design. However, the game needs little more juice to feel even better. There is potential ;)

Developer

If we continue this game out of the context of the jam, we'll work on this "lack of juice" :) Thank you.

Very interesting turn on the theme one bouncing bullet! The level design and the simple (but useful) art differenciates this game from the others. The upgrading system was also a very original touch to the one life theme. Great job!

Would love if you could check mine out too! Or not, no pressure ;)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I'll checkout your game.

A fun little game. The upgrades are well chosen and make sense. The big slimes feel a bit unfair at times. All in all a solid game for a gamejam. If you have the time, check out my game: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461457

It's true that their size is hard to handle but they are more predictable, often stuck in places and can be killed easily. What would you suggest to avoid any frustration regarding this type of slime ? Make them even slower ? Thanks for the feedback, I'll checkout your game !

Maybe having the pulse in size would be better, like they are normally the size of green slimes, then there is an indicator and they blow up to their big size for a few seconds. Like this you can easily get around them, but also get caught of guard!

Developer

I see! I can already imagine him behaving like a pufferfish. Changing his color to yellow and adding this mechanic might be the perfect solution. Thank you.

The upgrade system makes a very interesting risk-vs-reward type of gameplay
