I adore this game. The aesthetic, the music, the gameplay. You've outdone yourself. Thanks for sharing this with us.

If you have time please play and rate my game:

Supercool! visuals are great, I suck at rythm games, this was cool

You sir made ridiculously brilliant game with outstanding polishing and boss, I love boss fights and you made me love your boss. Well done!

I loved it, though it was a bit too tricky for me. Great music, great mechanics, tons of polish. All around great, the minimalist design really tied it all together.

Dear creator,
Please film a flawless, no damage run of this game and ping me about it, I simply must see. This game is absolutely incredible. I loved every second, and I am infinitely glad that I found this. I would seriously grind for a few hours, trying to film the aforementioned run, however there seems to be some glitches associated with the modifiers, that I'm sure you're aware of. It also doesn't save your unlocked modifiers, so I can't just restart the game to fix the restart bugs. I also found a lot of pain, waiting the odd 10 seconds at the start of the game for the actual game to begin, which tbh turned me off the run. So to recap, this was amazing, and I wish it was that tiny bit better so that I could do some challenge runs (and probs fail miserably)

I'll get right on it. In the post jam build (look for that once the voting period is over), you'll be able to properly select which phase you want to start in to effectively skip the intro without bugs. I'll put the no damage run right here when it's uploaded.

If Rhythm Heaven had boss battles. Bit of a learning curve. Part of the reason is because this is less of a rhythm game where instead of tapping to a beat, you're waiting for a beat and then tapping like mad. But that's also why I had a lot of fun with it. Never played anything quite like this before. Also adore the look of the game, especially the lighting on the boss. That subtle gradient. *chefs kiss*

Hey, we made a GMTK game too. Check it out!

The concept is really good but it doesn't feel fair, I had the double health and checkpoints and I died so many times to things I didn't think I would've been able to get out of if I practiced more.

A few people have been feeling this way, and I completely understand why. If you do ever decide to try again my tip would be to listen for music cues, and follow the white square instead of crouching whenever possible. It's really easy to anticipate the chopping attacks by listening for their specific musical cue before they are on screen.

Wow, like everyone else has said, super polished and super difficult. My reflexes aren't good enough to get me past the third phase but what I was able to play I really enjoyed!

Very polished game, and a very difficult one, great use of the theme, the music is great too, the movements matches the beat very well.

Submitted(+1)

This is seriously polished.

Great idea, great execution, great music.

I also struggled with the difficulty, and it took me a minute to figure out the menu lol. But this was excellent.

Pretty difficult, pretty music, pretty art.

Great game in almost every aspect. Art: great. Gameplay: great, really sticks to the theme in an original way. Difficulty: good, although it ramps up pretty fast. But really great, I recommend it for sure, with some work it can be amazing.

Really good entry would love to see a fully fletched game with more bosses and more of a learning curve.

The art style is amazingly good, and I liked how you made things ramp up with small touches later in the game, like camera moving to the beat.

I'm not sure if my reactions are bad, but the first bit didn't really feel fair, and felt like I had to memorise it. Especially when I saw the attack, and wanted to move away from it, but moving tile was too far away, and I basically waited to get hit.

But, anyway, this is a solid submission, great job!

Ohboi, I was so lost at the start, and even in the menu I didn't know what to do until I realised "oh right, it's only one button".

The game was hard, and I had a lot a trouble of focusing on what's going on, but after several tries, it turned out to be really fun, so great job!

Fantastic Game!!  I love how the artwork goes with the music.  Looking forward to more from Bucher.

Impossible! the mechanic introduction was hard enough already, and you want me to dodge them all together?

Oh right, the review.
The looks, combination of black-white and 3D, the mechanics... it's perfect. 5/7

Brilliant music, brilliant mechanic, much rage on my part and a solid game overall!

Wow.

Whilst having a relatively steep learning curve, this game is fascinating. It really feels like I'm part of some sort of freaky techno drug trip - In a good way. Only issue is, it seems that the player can actually use multiple buttons instead of just one, so it doesn't really adhere to the theme. Although, I guess there is only one boss, and only one battle.

This was a fun game to play.
