very entartaining puzzle game very nice intuitive controls nice job but sound / song is a must!
Awesome puzzle game that meets the theme perfectly - please release this on mobile!
One recommendation - maybe sound little clunking sounds when you connect a tile down, to increase how satisfying the game is (it's already pretty satisfying!)
A lovely puzzle! It felt like the enhanced Tetris with all this new kinds of figures, but with no time pressure. Very relaxing to play :) Nice job!
I am very impressed! you made a very good puzzle game in that little time
Thanks :) I have made a few puzzle games before, that certainly helped.
Very clever tangram variant using only one shape! I like how the first levels introduce the mechanics in a clear and understandable way and the difficulty ramps on from there in a very defined way (starting from regular shapes tiles to diagonally connected to even disconnected ones). Honestly quite amazing how much depth such a simple mechanic can bring. Would have loved to be able to rotate the tiles with the scroll wheel and play it entirely with the mouse though. And I was a bit irritated by the level names - is there any system behind the combination of numbers and letters?
Thanks for the comment!
Custom control schemes would have been nice, but was not the focus of my game. Other people also suggested different control schemes.
The level names are a combination of the number of blocks on the tile, a lowercase x (which the font only displayed in uppercase/big), and a letter/symbol that has some resemblance to the shape. So the common tetris shapes are name 4xT, 4xS, 4xL etc.
Thank you for explaining. I'm baffled, I didn't get this myself. :D And congratulations to the overall good scores - you deserve it!
Managed to make it to 21. Cool game!
Thanks! Level 21 is definitely a big spike in difficulty. But after that, you'll be rewarded with the final (regular) level, and the 12 bonus levels, which are normal difficulty again.
Very interesting puzzle game, feels polished and fun, and gets difficult very smoothly.
Thanks for the kind words!
Nice puzzle game, had me going for a few levels, got stuck on 10 for ages and was very satisfied when I got past it XD
Glad you managed to conquer the level^^
Smooth puzzle game. I does perfect what It needs to do.
Thanks!
This game is very original, and that's very rare in jam of 3K entries! Its based on a simple mechanic but it can be made into something very complex. This game would be completely pereft for mobile, already as it is. Now, what I didn't like was that the spacebar wasn't very responsive, there was a little delay meaning that, impatient as I am, I would sometimes click twice. Great job overall! Good job with this game!
Would love if you could check mine out too! Or not, no pressure ;)
Sir, I admire you and your game as you are the first person who managed to show me how to make and interesting game with only one tile. Well done.
Glad you liked it ^_^
Love it.
That is all, it is perfect.
Thanks :)
I saw you wanted ratings (in the community section) so I played your great game. I really like it! The idea is really cool and also the puzzles themselves. Though a restart level or undo button would make it much less frustrating.
If you want to play my game, you can find it here: Twisty Chess
Thanks for the comment, and good point about the reset button.
I tried playing your game, but only got a gray screen :(
No problem at all. Thank you for asking for ratings since I got to play your game :).
And about the grey screen, are you on macOS?
no, on windows 10
:(. I will check what I can do. It's a really strange problem. Most people have no problem.
Brilliant idea and elegant execution. Clean and simple :) Something I will show to friends!
Can you also rate mine? :)
Thank you! I played and rated your game. Btw, where is your profile pick from? It reminds me so much of this meme^^

Haha its my face :D and the pun is intended!
Simple. Efficient. Clean. Challenging. Tile.
Five words ; like five stars (the ones you've dropped in my eyes).
Thank you!
Wow! This is a very solid game!
This is so polished and there is so much levels with very good ideas. I'm very impressed. I have not finished all the levels (currently stuck on 21) but I will for sure!
Love the pacing of your level series too. Once an hard level finished, you give a reward with a little simple level. It's a very good idea.
I have to ask: is it hard to design puzzles like that with only one shape? What's your process?
With a little relaxing music, it would be perfect!
Great job! Hope you will get featured! :D
Hey, thanks for the comment :)
Level 21 (and 33 for that matter), are definitely on another level of difficulty than the rest of the levels.
The design process is actually quite simple, and i thought about adding an actual level editor: You simply re-create the shape you have in Level Blocks (the gray ones), and copy/paste, position/rotate them so they dont overlap. Do that a few times and you got a solid chunk of level. Add some "Easy to place" pieces on the outside of that. Test some times, adjust accordingly.
When you have all levels, rate them by difficulty and put in a fitting order.
this is a really clever approach to this! mark has to see this :)
I wish I had more to say than... Wow.
I guess that's a privilege you get when you hit such a simple concept and execute it so well. Nothing to say but you nailed it. Oh and the little message were cute!
Hello! Thanks for your message :) I can tell you what i learned after my first game jam: make your games as small as possible. Focus on the MVP - Minimum Viable Prototype, and iterate from that!
It's a lesson I always struggle with. Most small ideas tend to be a clever mechanic and very quick to make, leaving too much time to iterate and leaving me feeling "maybe I should make something bigger". I also tend to go for action to keep player actively engaged even If I do tend to prefer making more clever and thinking games. This Jam I realize that I do enjoy playing fun clever/puzzle games and they seem to be well received too! Will consider them more heavily in the future.
Thanks, I'll take your wisdom to heart!
perfection
Thank you :)
Shouts a mobile release! :] Very polished!
Thanks! I might actually release this for mobile, if I find some time. Gotta figure out a good-working control scheme though.
Thanks a lot!
