This is really fun to control! Unfortunately I couldn't get past a certain level (the one just after the one with movable balls). Both because it was pretty challenging, and because I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do past a certain point.

An aspect that adds some difficulty is the camera. Sometime its angles are weird, hiding crucial part of levels, and sometimes it doesn't allow to see enoughof the level to now were to hook. It makes some parts really hard to navigate, especially when failure is so punitive.

But nonetheless, it is a great concept, and the physics is super sweet! Art and music are also pleasant. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, that was the last level, and the most difficult by far. The difficulty curve in general is one of the worst parts of the game - I had wanted to build out more levels to ease it in, but didn't get enough time (maybe in a post-jam release, though). The camera is also another commonly cited difficulty, and I'm planning on experimenting with some larger fields-of-view and additional camera logic. Thanks for the kind words! :)

I'm so bad at this but it's so fun! The difficulty curve was a little too much, it would have been nice to have more time spent letting the player get the hang of the controls/mechanics, but that's really my only complaint. Everything else about this is so good too: aesthetic, concept, etc. Would love to see a bigger/expanded version.

Developer

Thanks for the great feedback, and I really appreciate you streaming it yesterday - it was so cool to see!

Cool idea. Finally putting those worms ninja rope skills for something : ) Only negative feedback I could give is about that harsh learning curve in the level design the others mentioned.

Developer

Thanks for playing and offering feedback! :)

Great game!
I think the core mechanic is very solid, simple yet deeper than expected. Level design is done very well for a short jam. It was difficult but very fun mastering the controls. Aside from the design, I dig the art as well.

Developer

Thanks! :)

Solid game, a but difficult but fun. Love that you do not need to click directly on the anchor it is very forgiving and feels great.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Appreciate the feedback!

Great game! Nothing to complain about, really, you did a very good job! :)

Developer

Thanks! :)

I can only really echo what others have said here; great looking game and the controls feel great but the level design limits how fun it is. I think isolating each challenge to fit within a single screen and having the camera static would really help, as it is done in Celeste.

Developer

Thanks a lot! And thank you for the feedback - yes, I'll see if I can improve that for a post-jam release. I'll especially be experimenting with the camera - Celeste is indeed a great example of this, but not all puzzles in it used a truly static camera (some levels were large enough where the camera panned). Still, point taken.

All I can say is just wow.  The level of polish is insane.  A well-deserved five stars!

Thanks so much! :)

This is an awesome idea. It's got an intuitive and interesting mechanic that has a lot of room to expand. This game strikes that sweet spot between puzzle and action platforming, and I like it. My only complaint is the level design could use some more work. The difficulty curve is way too harsh, and sometimes you can't tell if you're about to fly into some offscreen spikes unless you've already played the level. Maybe the ability to zoom out and look at the stage to plan your moves would help with that. Overall, it's a nice game, though! Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing and offering feedback! Agreed about the camera being problematic and the difficulty curve being too steep - I had intended on building out more levels to help with this, but ran out of time (maybe a post-jam version, though).

You really nailed it, though, about the sweet spot between puzzle and action platforming - that's exactly what I was going for!

Excellent game, difficult but enjoyable. Good work!!

Thanks for playing! :)

Very solid game :D
Really loved how you programmed the anchors, and the graphics are adorable. And all that with a solid hook of a concept, definitely had me fiddling with it for a good time trying to see how far I could get.

Also, for as simple as that character is. Squeee ♥

Developer

Thank you! :D

Duuude your gameplay is top10, but the difficulty curve is way too harsh. I stopped at level 4 (I think is 4, when you have the object that you can move.

Developer

Hey thanks! Yeah, I had originally wanted to add a lot more levels so that the difficulty curve was more gradual, but ran out of time. Thanks for playing! :)

Dude, seriously, you've got a game with gamefeel and a lot of polish. You understand how a game needs to feel - and it feels GREAT to play your game <3 I could play it non-stop if there aws an endless mode

I just felt like maybe the level design could improve a bit - at least on the browser version, I couldn't see some of the grappling points, so some parts were super frustrating (one specially where you drop down a long shaft and there's spikes at the bottom - I bet that if I could see one of the grappling points before I fell haflway at full speed, it'd have been good, but... oh well). Also perhaps not the most innovative idea, but I like to think execution is a bigger part of game jams - andy ou've got that down to a pat. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words and feedback! :) I agree that the camera is frustrating at times - I'll see what I can do about that for a post-jam version.

That was pretty cool! Its a fun concept, and i enjoyed playing, until i got stuck on the 3rd level. I feel like the momentum + spikes you can't see until its too late weren't to fun, but maybe i just need to git gud. Very pretty game, and fun overall. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you very much! And yeah, several people have commented on the momentum+camera being a problem, and I agree. Hopefully I can improve that for a post-jam version.

Actually, great game! The mechanics were fun and pretty well-realized (in fact, they reminded me of mechanics I used in my jam game. Main probably was some finnicky levels. Actually broke the game because of the one where you have to go high, but there's spikes at the top.

Developer

Woah, nice find! I kinda suspected that could happen, but hadn't managed to trigger that myself (of course, I hadn't really tried to). Thanks for playing!

Really good, clever and simple mechanic that has enough room to become really deep.

Developer

Thank you for checking it out! :)

Great idea ! Great concept ! love the music, it's hard yet addictive. Great work !

ps: my gf find it really cute

Developer

Thanks a lot! :)

Really cool concept, the anchor system is really brilliant. However, I felt like sometimes the camera was a bit too zoomed in,  and the anchors were really at the edges of the screen or outside.

I think adding a timer so players can speedrun the levels could be a good idea, I'd love to play those levels again and see if I'm getting better.

Well Done!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! :D Yes, I had intended to keep track of time and the death count, but didn't have enough time to implement. Perhaps in a future update!

very cool game and concept!

The best one I've played so far! Clean design, liked the mechanic, a lot of fun. I only made it to level 6, the game is really hard but fair. I wonder, how many levels did you make? :)

Developer

Level 6 was the last level! I had wanted to make more of course, but ran out of time. Maybe a post-jam update! :)

In that case I'll try my best to finish the game then! Can't fail at the last level. :D
