Great idea for the visuals! Very unique :0
that was one of a kind game, never played such game like that before, i think with more polish and more investing it would bring people into the same kind of games since i never played one and i liked playing this one.
Sweet, remind me of the Sega CD FMV game. but the action hint can be highlighted better. other than that good game
Very interesting and unique game!
I can see a game like this being very fun ( even more so for kids) with more time and polish to make it a bit easier to figure things out (maybe highlighting possible options so kids know where to click) and perhaps some kind of branching story line (When you're not in a game jam time limit). Nice work!
creative idea to use real Lego builds for the scenes. The stop motion and point and click style worked well and felt unique.. nice to see something different in a jam. Took me a bit to work out what to do at times, maybe a hint toggle would help, but overall it was fun and original
Thanks for persevering!
I agree hints , or just more direction from the storyline, would be an improvement. Given the time constraints and my personal challenges of "write everything from scratch" I just got the basics going (c.f. the fisherman who says nothing!)
I always find it a bit ironic that point and click is a format which masquerades as "real life in a game", attempting to provide an intuitive world interface, but almost always ends up as a cruel parser...
Interesting premise going with Lego bricks. You could do something like have different scenes be different camera angles to have more of a game involved instead of just clicking to advance a narrative. You could do some cool stuff with this. Keep it up!
Thanks.
I gave up on camera angles when I found out how difficult it was to fit my camera into my son's lego build without breaking it
X-)
That's fair. A trick that a friend of mine used when doing stop-motion is have the different building pieces be easy to move so you don't disturb the build but can get the camera more easily in areas where you want them to be. Still pretty cool overall. Way to go to you and your son!
A very original approach. It reminds me of Myst (and similar games). The graphics, presented as images with LEGO bricks, are really interesting—I’m guessing you built the entire scene in real life and then took photos? Congratulations on finishing the game :)
Yes -it was just the lego my son (and I) have been playing with for the last few weeks - easy asset creation :)
This was a very cool idea. It was really hard to play. It took me a while to realize the brick was turning into arrows. Even then, I couldn't figure out what to actually do. It was very neat tho. Also would have been cool to have a soundtrack. The stop motion was really neat.
I agree it's a bit hard to find the park, which is where the second half of the story is. And I just couldn't find any free music I liked (and can't do that well enough myself!)
Thanks for trying! :D
This was a fun story! I figured out the mystery :)
It’s Lego, it’s a really special idea. I like it! Keep going with games like that!
Great throwback to adventure point and click games. The use of Lego for stop motion and the general aesthetic is clever
This is so cool! I used to love playing point and click adventure games back in the DOS days. The aesthetics with using the Legos and stop motion is great. I also love that this is another family effort. :) Well done!!
Yeah - I enjoyed the family effort thing about your entry too :)
I love LEGO, and I’ve never seen anything like this in a jam before. It’s super creative—I’m genuinely impressed!
Really cool idea for a game! Beautiful and fun. I'm not very good at point and clicks but I did "solve the mystery" and people went YAY which is pretty cool! The battle scene between the wandstranaut and the plant beast was very hype. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you go to the end :)
This is up there on the originality scale!
excellent work!
The fact that this is all stop-motion is so incredible. The idea of using legos to create the assets is brilliant!
Good job in making this game!
Great concept and Lego work! The story is so much fun and nice work on the stop motion as well, good job!
funny idea to actually use lego "assets", but I didn't really find out what I had to do. I tried to feed the baguett to the pigs to collect the apple, but it didn't work
Well, they thought it was a bad deal :)
Thanks for trying the game!
Wow! I love the stop motion. This really caught me by surprise - so unique and such a good concept that was really well executed. I like point and click games, and it's lovely that your son's lego designs were used. Great job.
Very original! And so cute that you used your kid's lego designs to make this :-)
