NICE RAGE GAME, but good job tho. personally would liked to have seen some blood haha

Developer

Haha thanks :) Though yeah maybe could have added some particle effect when dying to the saws

Congrats on your submission!  I had a bit of an issue with latency on my browser, especially if I tried to fullscreen the game.  I had an issue with timing on the edge of the platforms, so coyote jump would have saved me.  I made it to the final level but I'm assuming because of the latency I was experiencing, I couldn't make it past the end level.  I really liked the time mechanic, a few times I dashed past the edge and either died or fell down and had to go back around.  Overall though, great job.

Developer(+1)

Thank you :) I definitely will take time to learn how to properly implement coyote time in the future as I hear it's useful.

As for latency, I'm not sure if your experience is the same as mine as I had this issue before, but enabling hardware acceleration in the browser should help if it isn't on already

Submitted

I know I've enabled it before, but with all the updates that happen maybe the setting got reverted.  I'll definitely check that out.

Great music; the platforming has a multitude of mechanics, making it awesome. Great game

Developer

Thanks a lot :)

Nicely done! Love the time freeze mechanic, and the music was a good choice. I was struggling with the dash mechanic though, it didn't always seem to work when I needed it most

Developer(+1)

Thanks :) The dash was a bit tough to get it balance enough to how I wanted it and can use a bit of work. However had to limit the amount as I felt it can be a bit overpowered

Submitted

very good

Developer

Thanks :)

I eventually got stuck on the final level but only gave up after lots of trying. Liked the time-stop mechanics and the feedback of the music freezing and the screen going grey. Some scary sawblade sounds and pillar thunks would've added to the atmosphere if you'd made them play while close to the objects (rapid volume falloff). This was fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it :) Would have loved to add sound effect but the ones I found during the time limit didn't sound right so preferred to leave them out than include ones that sounded off, but definitely would add them to future projects :)

Wow, what a polished game! The visuals, sound and music were all great! If I were to change one thing, it would be to highlight danger zone of the moving blades at all times, even while frozen. I often found myself dying because I was just touching the path of a blade when time unfroze, because I couldn't tell the blade was a moving one. Nevertheless, a great submission. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words :) Will make sure to have some visual paths/limits to the saws if I continue on this project :)

Submitted

I suggest let that the player can cancel the time stop power. If you have bad luck, the traps will be stopped blocking your path, so you must await until the time stop power end to try again.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback :) Yes that would be the first on my to do list if I continue or make something new with the mechanic

A very good platformer game, visuals are great, music fits well with the gameplay, and the time and dash mechanics make it original. Maybe when you stop time, it would be nice to have the option to unfreeze it manually. Because if you miss the timing, you just have to wait for time to resume, and if you miss it again, well... you wait again ^^'. But overall, it is a really impressive submission, and the best platformer I've played this jam. good job!

(Is it just me, or the ending is a Jojo reference?)

Developer

Thanks a lot, glad you liked it :) Yeah, if I continue on this game or make something with that mechanic, I would add a time resume button for sure.
And yes, the ending is a JoJo reference, actually the main point of the game is, the "Tiny World" behind you is Dio's "The World" stand, hence why the time freeze mechanic xD Glad you got the reference

Submitted

Awesome job, one of the best

Developer

Thanks so much :)

This game isn’t easy! I died a lot xD But it’s super polished, with great effects and cool mechanics. Could be really fun for speedrunners!

Developer

Thanks a lot, glad you liked it :)

I love platformers. I love the concept of stopping time and I think it could be fleshed out into something really unique and fun. The game can really benefit from coyote frames, it would add to the feel of the game. Also, something graphic to show the path of the traps, because they're stopped and you find yourself coming up on a new set of obstacles that just start up and hit you in the face if you don't guess right.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words :) Yes would definitely need to look into and learn about how to implement coyote time for the future and will keep in mind to add some kind of indicator for traps

Submitted

Well done - good level design is tricky, you got some good ones :)

Developer

Thanks, I appreciate it :)

Reminded me of a supemeat boy type thing, so frustrating but.. just one more try.... okay one more!

Developer(+1)

Haha, the best kind of frustration to have in games then

Submitted

absolutely!

Really nice game, the platforming is pretty fun and I like the time stop mechanic.

It might be better to be able to cancel mid time stop just to keep the pace of the game up.

But overall pretty fun!

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it :) If I decide to continue or revisit this, time stop cancel would definitely be the first thing I add, though wouldn't be sure if it would be from the start, or with some kind of permanent powerup

Submitted

wow this was fun, it feels fast paced but it's not, the look, feel and mechanics were brilliant, and I loved the slo-mo death animation, saw that one a lot XD

Developer

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it :)

Submitted

A platforming game with decent level designs! Took me... more tries than I'd like to admit to beat the game. Also nice reference in the ending lmao

Developer

Yes! Someone finally mentioned they got the reference! It's not just the ending but even the character itself xD Thanks for playing and the kind words :)

Cool game. Some checkpoints would have been good for my nerves ;)

The collected dashes don't reset after dying, so you can stack them up. Is this an accident?

Developer

Thanks :) Would definitely add checkpoints if i decide to continue on it :) For the dashes, it was originally an accident but left it there by choice. Figured it wouldn't hurt to keep the extra dashes if you're dying too much

Submitted

Superb! The best game I have played so far!

Developer

Thanks a lot :)

Submitted

cool but tough game.

Developer

Thanks :)
