Nice work. Hopping between tiny planets is great and fits the theme well. It was fun trying to navigate about. Good job.
Liked the concept a lot! Wasn't able to land in another planet, though! It looks cool and it's no nice to see people managing to make 3d games for this jam! Especially in your case, in which you did it all alone. Congratulations!
Thank you very much for your kind comment.
Fun game concept. Nicely done!
well, it took my sometime to get used to the controls but the concept and the gameplay was cool, i love space so maybe adding enemies would make it a bit fun? im not sure but that's what i think of, overall great game!
Cool game concept, nice work!
That was cool but now I am lost in space :)
I wasn't skilful enough to land at the next planet, I really liked it though!
Thank you so much I'm glad you liked it. Maybe I should make a video of me landing to show that it is actually possible :)
Got the item and shot straight up, then the plant was gone. Had no idea how to get back to land or the ship, and I ran out of fuel. Nice work keep shining!
You can use middle-mouse to look around for the next planet. But I admit that it is confusing. It is my first 3d game so I got distracted by solving the technical side of things and forgot about fun and user-friendliness. I am going to learn from this and do more jams and ask for user-feedback early-on
Pretty tough to control, but that's kind of part of the fun - overall a nice submission!
Initially it took me a while to realise I didn't have any fuel which is why I couldn't fly. I thought there was a problem with the controls at first. Perhaps you could give the player a full fuel tank at the start to avoid this confusion. Good game but very hard - I had a few attempts at it but didn't manage to land on another planet.
I liked flying around on the flat surface but wasn't sure how to fly in space
Altho the controls are a bit tough still the game was fun playing , good job
You weren't kidding, the controls are really difficult. I think the hardest part is trying to see where your going though. I couldn't ever get the camera to face forward because once the mouse is outside the screen you can't adjust the camera properly. Cool mechanics though. Flying is a tough mechanic. Congrats on the submission.
That is strange that you couldn't get the cam to face forward. Once you hit the forward thrust (left mouse) while above an altitude of 300 the camera should follow and rotate with the player. The mouse-look camera is only at low altitudes, for take-off and landing.
It was something that I was working on right up to the deadline so I'm sure there are bugs and exceptions.
Maybe a better way would be to always have the cam rotate with the player and face forward, but have OPTION of mouse-look, which can be toggled on and off.
Yeah, I can image how difficult that mechanic was.
I think I have fixed the bug with the Mouse-Look camera. Please could you have a quick look and tell me if you think there is an improvement.
Yeah it feels much better no mouse issue. When flying though your thrust is vertical but you can't look where you're going. Maybe on fly mode have the camera facing the movement vector so you can tell which direction your moving, Once you're out in space it's really difficult to sense direction. But massive improvement.
"When flying though your thrust is vertical but you can't look where you're going" I'm not sure what you mean by this. There are 3 thrusts, up forward and back. So you can just thrust forward (Left Mouse) and go in the direction you are facing.
Maybe it's too confusing. I'm proud of some of the technical things in this game, but if I'm being honest, it isn't fun. I just ran out of time. Now that the crunch of the jam is over I can look back and think about what I could have done to make it more fun and more user friendly.
Thanks for the feedback
Totally understand. What I mean is the thrust feels like you are moving in the z axis but the camera faces in the y or x (depending on how you want to think of it) So I feel like I'm moving up but I'm not looking where I'm going, if that makes more sense lol.
