Loved the story and the twist! Only suggestion I'd give is to maybe make the part in which you deposit the solar energy more distinct in relation to the rocket one. People may think they are only one thing, instead of two.
Nice job! I'd love to see a part 2, or something like that, hahaha

Developer

Yes, I should have done that. Thanks for playing!

Very impressive! I loved the art and the gameplay concept. Could have used a sound effect when completing a task. Overall, excellent work!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I didn't have enough time to implement sound effects, thanks for playing though!

A really interesting story here. On one hand, I liked the repetitive daily gameplay and it sort of added to the feeling of being an ant doing monotonous tasks, and actually helped focus on the story (I loved the ending I saw!). I think if you were to polish it in future, it would be good to make the gameplay somewhat more fun but still repetitive. I don't know. I think it could be a hard one to balance to make sure the story was still the focus and so I think as it is is really good. Great game! Well done!

Thanks for the feedback!

I think you captured what it must be like to be an ant, at least one from a long dead space faring society. I enjoyed the monotony of doing my ant chores. Solid entry.

Thanks!

I actually appreciated the relative ease and monotony of the “day to day” gameplay, given that it felt more like a backdrop to the story and dreams. Felt easy to go through and made me feel like I was “just doing what I had to” to get to the end of the day video and dream. Also, I know I should’ve expected the ending, but I really didn’t. Overall good job!

From the tops of the snowy Garall mountains to the shallow Oldtide waters and all across the Threxrian empire, I am wishing you a Glorious Day!

Awesome story and what a twist! The dream minigames kept things fresh between the day-to-day repetition. Well done!

The simple repetitive game play really makes the player focus on the story at hand and drives them to make it to the end. Great Work!

nice job. The story was strong and the atmosphere worked well. I liked having the two endings and the way the repetitive gameplay loop ties into the main idea. The pixel art and music added a lot.

I really enjoyed the narrative and story. The 1st ending was a twist! Were the recordings on repeat? But I didn't understand the 2nd ending.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Essentially my vision for the story was an ant who was stuck maintaining a planetary colony long after their queen died. To cope with this the ant deludes themselves into thinking their queen was still alive. The dreams represent a sort of mental battle where if you survive enough of them, the ant breaks through and has to face the truth and move on. Otherwise, the ant breaks down into a full delusion.

I barely got this game into a working playable state so I didn't have enough time to refine the story. Thanks for playing though!

Wow thanks for the breakdown! Both endings make sense now.

Hi, I'm impressed with how much you managed to do - concept, implementation of mutliple systems and art.  Wanted to see both endings, so went through twice :)
