Cute game idea, I would suggest adding the fullscreen option on the itch page, because the furniture icons can be hard to see. ;)
To echo others comments having a preview of placement would be really nice. I also was really hoping I could put a canvas on the aisel but doesn't seem to be so haha. I definitely see the vision and the cozy vibes are always nice! Great job on the submission ^.^
I think the main thing I'd love to see would be a preview of where the object will be placed, but very impressive for your first game project! Nice work! :)
Cool cosy game! I think you can add some flair with the camera movement that'll make it less abrupt and give it some movement to whichever side it's rotating. If you develop really cute or pleasing furniture that matches the room's aesthetics, that'd be nice also. Digging the vibe over tho. Thanks!
Hey, at least you took the time to write down your vision for the game and what it is supposed to be. The premise is pretty interesting. I actually learned something from Kindman’s comment below. So funny enough, I ended up learning a bit more about game dev by trying your game than playing some other game. At the end isn’t that’s what a game jam is all about? Also I built a little pier in the workshop:
Thank you for trying ! I love when my clunky game is used for making something fun and not within the real idea !
And yes, Jams are definitely to learn and take confidence in our capacity.
I see a lot of potential here, good submission. I felt very relaxed throughout the game. Well done!
Not my style of game, but it's still very chill and cozy. The SFX fit well, and the music is calm. Good job, it's a lovely project!
Reminds me of MakeRoom by kenney.
Nice game
The rotation bug caught me! Its a good start!
Cool take on the theme—nice work!
Super cute little game I think :-D Is a fun sandbox to play around in and decorate your own little world. Great job!
Lots of potential in this little cozy game!
Cute cozy game, solid prototype for a little room designing game. The music is very relaxing and matches the type of game you want to go for, I like it. The bugs and missing mechanics I've noticed are already listed in your to-do list. Kinda wished I could put a canvas on the easel though x) Keep up the good work
Nice relaxing game. Lots of potential!
I like the game. Relaxing music and simple mechanics.
A nice simple relaxing game, no need to rush and enjoyable. I would add a ghost of the item you want to place. that way one has greater control over the placement
A very meditative game that lacks a few basic mechanics (or did I just not figure it out?), such as rotating furniture, removing already placed furniture or moving placed furniture, and, potentially, changing the texture of furniture.
Overall, I really liked the game, thank you very much!
Thank you ! I think you didn't miss anything, it really missed the basic mechanics of the genre and I will. Color variation, or variation in general will be in my "end game" to do list, but first I really need to get the rotation, removal in !
I like the minimalistic concept of the game, I think it definitely has potential.
but for it to work you really have to polish all of the components - which is the extra challenge for a minimalistic concept in my opinion. a fun action game can be fun in its crappiest form, but when you are aiming for cosy vibes and player expression the minimal viable product must be way closer to the final product than most other types of games. I hope I don't sound overly critical, just my two cents of thoughts.
Don't worry, I understand. I'm satisfied but this only my first project as dev so I implemented what I could in the limited time I had ! And I'll work to improve this small product and its quality
Great job submitting a game to the jam! I was confused at first what to do, but I think this is a great start to this game! The placement of items seemed to be a bit random.
very chill game and well polished game i really enjoyed my time designing my own room and customizing stuff as i want, pretty awesome game good job!
