Nice game! The story was awesome and I liked how each character had their own personalities. My favourite was Etta with "The Duck Song" reference.
thank you for playing our game!
Great work on your submission, it definitely fits the tiny world theme! The fast movement was different but I actually liked it. It also played very well in the browser (Brave) with no issues.
Thanks so much for playing and the positive feedback! We're glad you enjoy it ^.^
It was a fun experience, pretty straight forward ! I noticed that the camera has some basic movement when we don't interact with it, it's a bit unusual. Good job!
Glad to hear you had a fun experience. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the camera movement? For me if I dont move my mouse the camera doesn't move, is that what you're saying? Thanks for playing our game!
That's exactly whats was happening, I wasn't touching my mouse and the camera was panning slightly
Very impressive! Takes me back to the Nintendo 64 days, except so much smoother.
ha im glad it was smoother! thank you for playing our game!
Was really amazing, I do believe I found a bug or an easter egg also loved the beatboxing squirell XD
these squirrels sure have a mind of their own hahhaa. they arent meant to headdive into the ground, but sometimes collision be like that haha thanks for sharing!
wow great work. very enjoyable game. I played the webgl version and did initially have an issue with the mouse not being captured in the game so was very limited how much I turned. It resolved though when I went into the sign and pressed one of the buttons. Then I could turn normally. I think thats a WebGL thing - you need to get a click of a button in webgl to be allowed to capture the mouse
thanks for playing our game! i had the same issue with the mouse thing when playing in browser (particularly when i tabbed out lol) but i think the solution is to presss P twice or something like that lol. glad it was still playable tho!
Yeah, I think it's html5/webgl builds but not necessarily the build. I think it's the browser? I use opera gx most and it pops up asking me if I want to allow mouse capture (on every capture mouse game), and same as when you press esc its the browser is what releases the cursor - thus p to pause on web. I'm not sure whats the best way to handle this in future is but I'll have to figure it out!
Thanks for the Windows build. It runs perfectly under Linux with Wine.
I truly liked the ambience. The tranquil forest with birds singing, then this tiny village with a Hobbit-like music and these strange but relaxing colours. And a giant banana ! :D Theme 100% respected ! (watch out, its texture has a watermark)
It's a little too bad that the assets were not animated, but it's a whole different kind of business.
Too bad as well that the multiple languages is limited to the main screen and the settings. Still, this is a good start.
2 things I didn't really like :
- the player moves very very fast ! Like he's running the 100 meters final at the Olympics. I would not wander this fast in the woods. It removes some of the fun.
- the ground's semi-realistic texture doesn't blend well with the assets' hand-painted textures. It's more disturbing in the first scene ; it's OK in the village and its unrealistic colours.
That's a good game. There's room for more adventure !
PS : DJ Square L is funny ! :D
Thanks for playing and the awesome feedback! That's awesome you ran it on linux, I didn't think about running a windows build on linux xD. Godot can export linux builds but I can't test it so left them out. And yeah, I really wanted animations but this was my partners first time going near 3D assets/game dev at all (her second game in general) so figuring out animating on top wouldve been too much of a stretch for the jam ^.^
Yeah, by the time we solidified the dialogue + game text we didn't have a lot of time to setup the translations. In some ways mightve been better not to have it but left it so we can look at it later.
With the movement is this when big, small or both?
This is actually good to have kept the partial translation, it proves you worked on it, even if it's not finalized.
Concerning the movements (I'm talking about the walking speed, not the mouse speed), they're fast in both levels. They're faster than what we have in FPS like Unreal Tournament (the 1998 one) or Xonotic. I think that running this fast should be kept right after being shrunk until we enter the second level (to emphasize the escape).
Nice walk in the worlds, then, what are those squirrels doing with all those mushrooms and a bag of purple stuff, Oops! What happened? Maybe I should lay off the purple stuff. Vegetables that look like vegetables, potion that looks like potion, need to find something to put in that cauldron... Thanks for the trip :)
The purple stuff sure can lead to some whacky things to the unsuspecting ;P haha thanks for playing ^.^
The beatboxing squirrel made my day. Really liked the art and characters, very enjoyable experience
thanks for playing our game! im glad you found the beatboxing squirrel hehe too funny
Really nice game! It took me some time to find the fairy ring, but it was quite enjoyable. The world is full of content and the story is nice. My only problem is that the player movement feels way too fast, which for some reason gave me motion sickness. But I managed to get over it and finish the game, and grow back.
Thanks for playing our game and your feedback, interesting about the motion sickness, hope you're ok! With the movement is it camera (mouse sensitivity) or wasd movement? And was it when you were big, small or both?
I'm fine; it was just a little bit of motion sickness, not much. I think it had to do with the walk speed (WASD) in the small section.
This was fun and relaxing, I smiled a lot with these characters!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the characters and had fun! Thanks for playing our game ^.^
Congrats on completing your game! I had a really fun time playing it. Your game is visually appealing, and I love the relaxing and whimsical music and sfx. It all really adds to the atmosphere. I also like that you implemented a proper dialogue system into the game even with the short amount of time allotted for completion. I do think the player moves a bit too quickly while exploring the area but outside of that, I really liked your game. Nice job!
Thanks for playing and the great feedback! And we're happy to hear you had fun ^.^ With the player movement is it camera movement (mouse sensitivity) or the movement with wasd? Also if it's wasd - is it when big, small or both?
I meant the WASD movement, On the opening section where you explore it just felt like I could fly through the level. But thats my only criticism, I had a lot of fun with your game!
I will have a look at both I think and tweak them to be slower. In testing it felt really slow to walk and we probably went too far in the other direction. Slowing it down and adding a sprint should make it feel a lot better. Thanks again for the feedback ^.^
Yoo love this, for some reason I immediately found the potion bottle thank God.
Thanks for playing our game ^.^ - you had the experience we expected most people to have haha. Our play tests/testers did the same. We almost thought it was too easy, ohh how we were wrong on that! xD
Really like the visuals and overall performance love it.
thanks for playing!
Great job with dialogues and quests. It's a really solid jam entry.
thank you for your comment! we're pretty proud of our game, so im glad you liked it!
Awesome graphics!! good job!
thank you for playing! happy you liked the graphics. i wanted to make sure our game was cute hehe
Great job! This makes me want to try out the Godot engine. My favorite part was when I thought I was in the game only to have to go to the tree and see there was more.
Godot is one of the "simpler" ones to use in my opinion! but Audhumbla (the guy who did the programming) would know more about it! im glad you were surprised that there was more! thank you for playing our game!
Great game! I like the the questing and all the characters. Dialogue was fun too! I didnt get to explore the squirrel world very much, got thrown into the hollow a bit too soon accidentally. Mechanics felt good, it was cute and I actually wanted to complete the story! Great job!
aw im glad you actually wanted to complete the story haha and it means a lot that you thought it was cute! thanks for playing our game~
I liked your tiny adventure game very much. Great mood and nice talking with the little guys. Well done!
thank you for playing!!!
Hope you realease a 10 hour dj sqare l mix on youtube. Good submission!
hahaha the programmer (Audhumbla) had to sit through my audio choice of the beatboxing squirrel for agesss while he was debugging. it was driving him ~nuts~. at least someone appreciates the beatboxing and wants more! thank you for playing our game!
I love me ~acorny~ joke!
