so, I assume we get an email with a free course in around 23 hours. I’ve done quite a few; Unity 2D; 3D, Mobile, RGP Combat; and in the middle of multiplayer one. What about you? Any recommendations?

Love side-scrollers! The plane moves exactly as I would expect a paper plane to fly. Very difficult. :)

I like the pixel art style and animation! Got stuck at a rock, wasn't sure if I could jump it.

I cleaned up a bit, then just walked off the edge and watched the platform disappear into the distance. :)

Thanks, first time I tried using an Audio mixer and music triggers in Unity, quite easy to set up in the end.

Genius! Wasn't quite sure what to do first then clicked the mouse and screaming started :) Good twist on mini-golf, sort of GTA mini-golf. The title screen images and style are great too! Did you draw them or is it AI?

Made it to the end, which is a good sign :) lost my proof though :( I enjoyed the challenge and possibly found a way to 'cheat' my way up some of the walls by jumping into them rather than from one to another. I liked the very thin lines and tiny size of the main character. did you do anything in particular to get that effect like small sprite sizes or a distant camera position?

Ah, the rating saved but not the comment. I even took a screen shot of your win screen :) I’ll add it again…

Makes me think of 2D gauntlet game. Tricky, but got 55 of those green things!

Classic! Loved the colours, sound, gameplay, power-up. Good that you added buttons for potential mobile control. Not sure, coz I used keys, but might be easier to control on mobile/tablet with movement buttons, left and right, on one side and fire on the other.

Looks very professional and polished. I especially like the typing effect and the point and click drag and drop mechanics. Not sure if I got into the game enough, but would be cool if you could add some live insects/animals to the tanks.

Thanks loveroftoad, I used the default sprite shapes in unity, initially as a mockup and then the pointedness started to grow on me. Sort of a limitation that makes you creative possibly.

Thanks Plif! I couldn't be bothered with having multiple scenes and singletons, so I just went with one scene and overlayed any menus with the canvas and a toggle. I assume if it was any bigger it might slow the game down being just on one scene. Anyway, yes the first few flowers were designed to be super easy and then pollinating all 12 flowers with the two extremities of the scene nearly impossible :)

Thanks for trying the game out! Yeah, had a few friends who said they were crashing too much :) Most if not all my games are a patchwork of GameDevTV tutorials. The control system for this came from the rocket game in the 2D Unity course, I think... or maybe the 3D one. So, there's thrust and pitch/tilt rather than left and right. Thought it kind of felt like 2D helicopter controls. Maybe it would be clearer with a tilted bee on the buttons. Anyway, thanks for the useful feedback!

Nice walk in the worlds, then, what are those squirrels doing with all those mushrooms and a bag of purple stuff, Oops! What happened? Maybe I should lay off the purple stuff. Vegetables that look like vegetables, potion that looks like potion, need to find something to put in that cauldron... Thanks for the trip :)

Great idea, gets the imagination going! Lots of directions you could take this in too like progression into different organs in the body...

Thanks, yeah was suffering from ‘feature creep‘ especially when I decided to add boss fights :) game jams do really push you in unexpected directions.

Bee chess, trickier than it looks! I like the turn based board game mechanics. How did you set this up? Buttons or some kind of grid? Interested coz wouldn’t mind making a board game at some point.

Yeah,  I grew up on side scrolling shooters, like Salamander and R-Type. Mostly on arcade machines and, after the Atari 2600,  a Commodore 64:) My friend had the Spectrum, always debate on which one was better of course. Anyway, there was another game called Silkworm, I think, 2 player, with a jeep and a helicopter. Could do a follow-up with a bee some other insect teaming up :)

Came out well, I’ll have try it. I ended up animating a collection of shapes (a bird) by making them children of each other and moving them around with script, nightmare :)

Good to hear, I changed the resolution to 960 * 540 as suggested to me, so was probably that.

Great! thanks, the YouTube channel looks good.

For anyone visiting, just keep going there is a point, or maybe there isn't, but there is something, or is there? Just keep going :) Enjoyed the experience and music. thanks!

Unusual idea, feels like it could belong as a mini game in a playstation 1 game like resident evil. Wasn't happy to see those spiders outside their tank :)

This is the bee's knees :) Love the fact you have people walking around to give it scale. Anyway, this is the 3D version of my game :) Great minds think alike ;)

was clicking on the screen wondering what to do until i pressed the WASD keys and it zoomed in, nice effect. Found the shiny thing! Couldn't find anything else though :) chilled music, very polished art style!

Like the one button gameplay! Lots of tension in the music. Looks like it would work well on mobile too. I've asked around about this, but I assume the art style is low poly, did you do any of the art courses on GameDevTV any recommendations?

Seriously impressive, 4 games in one! It kept me playing until the ninja guy stage. Love the sounds and music, really cool.

Makes me wanna make a runner. Really appreciate the music and sound design, even the sound as you hover over the menu buttons! Quick question, did you animate the character with code or an animator in unity?

cheers! Thanks for confirming that. Phew! :)

thanks for trying, working for me on phone, tablet, laptop…  I’ll see if I can test it on a few more machines to double check. Cheers

that’s better than my best score! :) thanks for trying it out.

Thanks for the tip, wasn't sure it was possible on Unity with the free version. I'll have a look into it.

Ok, I changed the build settings in unity to 960 * 540, had to leave the viewport at 560 to leave the fullscreen button on itch in view. Fingers crossed, and thanks for the feedback!

thank, I’ll check it out

thanks, I’ll give it a try

Well, I got to 1234 :) Love the look, kind of spooky for some reason. Like all the AI propaganda images too. Not sure if this is just a random number guesser or if there is something more in there, but I also don't want to know to leave the mystery there in a liminal space.

You are going to win with Rick in your game :) Great idea! I agree, his tutorials are my favourites, especially the way he seems to get confused about what he's doing and self commentate, it's like you can see inside his head. Speaking of which, I think his head should explode before the game over text appears ;)

I really like the homemade sound effects! Reminds me of the sounds in Samorost. Might be just me, but had some issues with flying up though.

Interesting portal-ish game mechanic and spooky music.
