Excellent, unique game with a nice message to boot! Love the music, the sounds FX and ambience. Really well done!
cool concept, vibe and music - nice!!
Yes,remind me of subterania on sega genesis!!!Great!!!
i can feel the vibes but sadly i was struggling a bit with the controls since i think it was more optimized for mobile?, Otherwise gameplay was fine and it was fun!
I’m too bad for this game—the controls are a bit too tough for me, but that’s probably just a matter of practice. The charging mechanic is really cool, but not super easy to read during gameplay. Still, for a jam project, it’s a great piece of work. A bee as a helicopter is a genius idea and fits perfectly with the control style!
Really cool concept for a bee machine. I liked the art style a lot.. the pointy look worked well and was memorable. Controls took me a bit to get used to but it did feel rewarding once you started to get the hang of it. Good level design and the sound fit well. Nice touch with the music changing as you go. Well done
Thanks, first time I tried using an Audio mixer and music triggers in Unity, quite easy to set up in the end.
Cool idea of a bee machine. The controls seem a little difficult to manage at first but still a playable game!
Thanks for trying the game out! Yeah, had a few friends who said they were crashing too much :) Most if not all my games are a patchwork of GameDevTV tutorials. The control system for this came from the rocket game in the 2D Unity course, I think... or maybe the 3D one. So, there's thrust and pitch/tilt rather than left and right. Thought it kind of felt like 2D helicopter controls. Maybe it would be clearer with a tilted bee on the buttons. Anyway, thanks for the useful feedback!
Great idea. The controls are similar to the flying dino game I played from the submissions. It’s not easy but you made a good level design. It’s definetly not a Bee Game. It’s A! :)
Thanks Plif! I couldn't be bothered with having multiple scenes and singletons, so I just went with one scene and overlayed any menus with the canvas and a toggle. I assume if it was any bigger it might slow the game down being just on one scene. Anyway, yes the first few flowers were designed to be super easy and then pollinating all 12 flowers with the two extremities of the scene nearly impossible :)
Nice. Thanks for the explanation. Now I understand. It’s a good start to expand it, maybe in another engine with more scenes.
It would be great if you’d write about mine and rate it, too, maybe.
Ah, the rating saved but not the comment. I even took a screen shot of your win screen :) I’ll add it again…
omg i loved the grahics in this! its perfectly pointy but gave a unique art style. good job on the submission!
Thanks loveroftoad, I used the default sprite shapes in unity, initially as a mockup and then the pointedness started to grow on me. Sort of a limitation that makes you creative possibly.
Excellent addition of multiple input methods, really nice sound design and gameplay, 10 days, solo! you packed a lot in. well done!
Thanks, yeah was suffering from ‘feature creep‘ especially when I decided to add boss fights :) game jams do really push you in unexpected directions.
This is a good entry even more impressive it's a solo effort. The controls feel nicely weighted, not too easy not too hard. I really love the attention to detail under the sunbeams. You nailed this!Reminds me of a game I used to love years ago (showing my age) Airwolf on the spectrum/commodore... I always wanted to recreate it and here you have!
Yeah, I grew up on side scrolling shooters, like Salamander and R-Type. Mostly on arcade machines and, after the Atari 2600, a Commodore 64:) My friend had the Spectrum, always debate on which one was better of course. Anyway, there was another game called Silkworm, I think, 2 player, with a jeep and a helicopter. Could do a follow-up with a bee some other insect teaming up :)
Pretty fun game that I find myself coming back to trying to get better, the art style really works well and has good depth.
A fun small game. I only managed to get 10, I assume the last two are on the left, after the air pipes.
I like the idea of charging by the sun. It was very neat that the music changed gently as you near the end zones. The UI controls were clean and simple. Lots to like here.
Interesting concept and nice art style. I played about 10 times overall as it took me a few tries to get to grips with the controls. 8/12 was my best score. Good job
that’s better than my best score! :) thanks for trying it out.
For some reason it will not run in my browser, I get the unity loading screen and the progress bar freezes about 75%. The other submissions seem to be working. I am using Firefox 138.0.4 (64-bit) on Ubuntu.
thanks for trying, working for me on phone, tablet, laptop… I’ll see if I can test it on a few more machines to double check. Cheers
I'm gonna be honest: I am obsessed with your art style and I will copy that style in a future project. I mean, try and stop me. gameplay is also rock solid and unique as well. strong entry.
Love the vector style. Reminds me of some classic old helicopter games.
I need a more robust bee! :D
Yeah, default sprites in Unity and was initially just for prototyping, then I thought, you know what, I haven't got time to do pixel art :) Thanks for popping by!
