I like the pixel art style and animation! Got stuck at a rock, wasn't sure if I could jump it.
Great art and the game has a lot of potential! I got stuck somehow and didnt know what to do next. Was that the tilemap not working part?
This game is a fun and creative concept with charming pixel art. The idea of a skeleton defending its castle from pests is unique and engaging. While the game currently lacks sound and has some control quirks, it's a solid foundation with great potential. Looking forward to seeing how it develops further!
Feels a bit bare-bones at the moment, but could be made into an interesting brawler. Maybe you could take advantage of the skeleton's bigness and the enemies' smallness by allowing the player to aim the punch, and making multiple enemies target different points of the skeleton's body.
Those are good ideas! Thanks for the suggestions and playing. I appreciate your pun :)
I like the idea and your art is really good ! It gives me funny vibe, I've never seen Skeleton make sure their castle is clean of pests ! If you keep working on it, I'll be curious to see how you develop it !
Fun little pest-blaster! The gritty castle vibe worked well. Sound would definitely level this up, but for a jam game, it’s a blast to jump in and mash away.
I just like the idea of the giant skeleton. So, do keep on expanding the game.
BTW, if you hold one direction and then press another you do a moon walk...with S moon dash. :)
This was fun for me to do also.
Thanks for pointing the moonwalk out! It's a bug but maybe I'll turn it into a feature. Although, this wouldn't work on joypad/joystick controllers except maybe on the fancier arcade "stick-less" ones with only buttons. Take care!
hey, nice start to the game. When you say "Tilemap not working in HTML version" was that saying that there should have been a bigger map? It seemed like 1 corridor and that was it? The bit I got to play worked well and looked great. Would have loved to see more.
It's supposed to look like the image on the right. I see you've been suggesting people to record a video of gameplay and that's probably a great idea here! I'll try to do that soon.
ah I see, yeh a video would be a nice idea :) webgl can be funny
Ok, so I'm not into platformer type games but I got stuck on the first mid-air platform and couldn't destroy and no jump or crouch? How do I get by it? Game looks great however, shame you didn't have time for sound as would have made it more alive. Still great job!
There's no jump button and no way to destroy the pillars. It's just that one area. Thanks for playing!
I managed to get 37 points! Loved the sprites, especially the skeleton ones!
I have a question, though. Wouldn't the controls be better if you could run pressing Shift and attack using spacebar or de left mouse button?
Glad to see that you managed to do all of this on your own!
Gosh that's a lot of points! Good job! I'd like to add controller and keyboard remapping options. Thanks for playing and the suggestion!
The style of this is awesome. I love the sprites you used.
I hope this gets developed further after the Jam.
A decent game that would be improved a lot with some sound and music. Sometimes my attack wouldn't perform properly, it would start the attack animation but then stop. Good job overall.
Thanks for playing and the feedback! That's right, I was working on a "fake-out" type combat system but I didn't have time to implement the enemy side of that e.g. enemy stopping or moving back. I should have explained that nuance better and added some feedback/VFX.
Would've loved to see some more levels :D
Thanks! That makes me happy and I'd like to work on more.
Try to develop further in the future.
I had fun playing your game! The run felt very satisfying after feeling how slow the walk was. I punched 20 bats!
There are no sound effects or music.
Also, there is a bug where the tilemap is not appearing in HTML. I think it's because I used camera zoom.
