Hi guys, I made this game for GameDevTV Game Jam 2025!
You are a ball of replicating stem cells that is trying to increase it's growth rate while also defending itself from bad guys.
My concept: numbers-go-up mechanics of cookie clicker + bad guys that make said numbers go down.
I'm happy with what I was able to scrape together in such a short time frame and learned a whole lot about incremental and tower defense mechanics. Thank you to everyone who played and/or rated my submission!

EDIT: Here's the response I got on the GameDevTV discord:

Did everyone get an email for the free course? I haven't yet received anything.
Here's the game I submitted, if it helps.

I’ve asked in Discord as well. I couldn’t find an appropriate room so I just asked in the lounge.

Hi there! Thanks a lot for letting me know about the performance issues. The cell in the middle is a low poly sphere. The enemies are all single quad/tri. I do have a whole bunch of shaders running so it could be those? I'm pretty new to game dev and shaders so I'm sure I've done many things that are not optimal.
By any chance can you share any info about your setup? For example which browser your using and any relevant computer specs? If not, no worries. Thanks again for the heads up and for attempting to play my game!
thank you so much for the feedback. It seems lots of people die on wave 8 so in an upcoming build I will tweak that wave so the enemies are a bit more spaced out.
Thanks for mentioning the desire to do more with the cursor. I will try to think of something more for the player to do in downtime . I didn’t want to make a click-for-cells system because then the game economy is really hard to balance and anything can be overcome with rapid fire auto clicker.
Do you have any ideas for what you’d like to do with your mouse in that downtime?
I will revisit cursor warmth. I made it so for the opening few seconds the only thing you can afford is cursor warmth. My hope is that by doing so people would figure out how to use the shop in the sidebar and also learn about the tooltips on hover. If the user has cursor warmth right from the start how do I teach them about it without a tutorial?
I’m glad that you eventually figured it out. My goal is for the gameplay rules to be discoverable without explicit tutorial. But I will rethink this and for the full version maybe I’ll put in an optional tutorial that provides more info.
Reallly appreciate your feedback!
Hey, I honestly think this concept is amazing. I would much prefer it if I had to type the spaces and punctuation. I instinctively was typing them but it was considered wrong! Or make it so it automatically recognizes both the spaces/punctuation as correct for people who type them, or skips over them without penalty for people that don't.
Also, I think the writing was hilarious but it's too hard to read the incoming messages. Perhaps make it larger? Also I think the text/bg color combos could use more contrast.
Overall, love the concept and think this could be a really good typing game. Oh and the inclusion of the temple run aspect is genius. So yeah, the combination of typing and dodging is awesome.
Hi, I'm copy/pasting this from r/playmygame
That machine gun feels really, really juicy. I wish it had a longer range but perhaps that is unlocked with upgrades. It took me a while to find the UI showing my remaining ammo and I was actively looking for it. I wonder if you tried putting it closer to your health indicator? Maybe even putting the coin count up there as well? Well, I'm not a designer so take that with a grain of salt.
I think the game feels really, really good.
May I ask what your future plans for it are?
