Pretty unique game! Solid voice acting.
So many typos, nice original game. Actual great voice acting.
That was a very nice piece for sure. And it seems like others, made me reflect on some past relationships. I like the pacing and wanted a bit more of the story. Some of the wrong "your"s that should have been "you're"s slowed me down with typing. Congrats to the team on this!
I can see you creating this system as a storytelling game for teaching kids how to type and also how to spell. Also as a form of therapy, in a way.
That was sweet. Made me reflect on my relationships and the times when I had been the a-hole :)
I'll give you a good laugh: I could hear the sfx but not any of the voice acting when I played ... turned out that I'm an idiot and the jack had come partially out of my headphones :)
Tiniest suggestion: make it like the typing of the dead (I know, what a comparison) and that hitting space is optional.
I'll echo what others are saying in that this is a very unique experience. I liked the minimalist aesthetic, and the voice acting is phenomenal. I really enjoyed this.
Wow that was a very unique gameplay and captivating story. I planned to just play it for like a couple minutes to get a glimpse of the game (still have many games to test so I have to make it quick for each game), but I ended up finishing it to the very end I was so into it. Amazing work x)
Very unique submission. The typing was extremely satisfying with the sound effects and the pure way in which the visuals are presented. It compelled me to type/listen through to the end, and I feel like there's a lot of potential this format could have...like the further you type within the time limit, the more stuff that happens in the scene you're about to hear. The story could even branch based on the typing.
I dunno, just some vague inspirations that hit while playing, but I really liked this submission! Great job!
The most unique game i have played in this jam currently. Nice narrative story telling. Can somebody hand me an icepack though, i am still hurting from the typing marathon lol ;). Keep up the good work :)
Simplistic and beautiful. Really good voice acting between characters, makes it very personal and real.
I enjoyed typing out words hinting at the story, gave me an idea of what I am about to hear.
Perfect and emotional 10/10
Very unique take on the theme. Interesting mechanics, well-implemented story.
The story certainly pulls you in, and it's one of those games that leave you with a little bit more of a lasting impression than most.
Great job!
Hey, if you play on different language keyboards you need SHIFT to type ' so I always got negative scores. Maybe you should deactivate modifier keys. After the missed phone calls there were too many ' so I got stuck. Interesting game though
Dang sound's like a serious bug. I will go in and change this up. Thanks for getting through as far as you could :)
One of the most unique entries I've played so far. Voice acting was very well done. I wish the game would save progress because I accidentally reloaded the page after playing for quite a long time and then I had to start from the beginning again.
True I ran into that myself a few times. Thanks for playing through the game though and I appreciate the kinds words :)
The voice acting is immaculate! I was immediately hooked by the story. Just love the narrative games like this. The story is well told with beautiful depth and care. Just great. If only the typing part was a little bit more nuanced! It was tiring to type the same thing again and again. But I still loved the game. I sure will remember it!
Yeah I definitely think I could've gotten more in-depth with the typing or at least not made it random. I was thinking about it today and I could've just iterated straight through the array and it would've made it so you would not have any repeats. Not sure why I didn't do that looking back but lol oh well. Thanks for the kind words and yeah I think the voice actors did amazing too :)
I really enjoyed playing this. I love when people include voice acting in their jam games. I thought the voices were really crisp and the voice acting was great. The short bits in between with the typing and the piano sounds really added to it and the whole thing felt quite artistic. An interesting direction and I think it paid off!
tyvm :)
Really cool, interesting idea. I really enjoy story-driven games so this was right up my street. I also enjoy typing games - I can type well and type all day. However for me it was just a bit too much typing. If it was a bit less it would have made a big difference. Although now I've just looked down and see that you're getting comments either too much or not enough typing, so I think it's a difficult one to balance!
Voice acting was excellent.
I like that the visuals were simple.
Also (and perhaps most importantly for a game like this - why have I left it until last?) you are an excellent writer. Good job.
yeah balancing is always difficult. I appreciate the kinds words too about my writing :) I was really nervous it especially since this is like my first serious time writing for any game. Thanks!
Cool game! I can't believe you got mariah carey's voice coach to voice act in your game. I liked rain and train sound effects. They really added atmosphere to the story.
lol tyvm :D
I loved it, it's a good story driven game. Well done !
tyvm :)
Liked this a lot! I did get stuck on the "continuation" bit at the end, I'm assuming thats just where it reached in development, hope there wasn't more story I missed because I was getting pretty attached lol
lol no no, you didn't miss anything. I just started development on the project the last 3 days of the jam so I didn't have much time to do anything but that was a thing of note that I got from a lot of people. Will probably try to add in an end screen somehow after the jam is over. Appreciate you checking it out :)
Loved the story and voice acting. Well done.
tyvm :)
As an ex- radio sound professional I'd say this is a great job with dialogues, I really enjoyed it. One thing I could get to the end of end something stuck at "return to present" episode and it is possibly is the end but typing experience still go out and some phrases seems to belong to developing story but it just repeating that episode about hands. I'd like to hear how it's end if there is more))
Really appreciate the compliment about the sound quality I also think the Voice Actors did a really great job. Lol no there isn't more past the continuation section. But who knows maybe if people really like the game depending on where this places maybe I'll continue on the story a little bit or flesh it out more and if the actors are interested
