That was quite cosy :) Even cosier once I got to the mountains - free from the terror of the speed cameras.

I saw some of the filenames were related to Ireland so I guessed I was supposed to drive on the left side of the road (though the km/h threw me a bit!)

I bumped into one of the barriers going up the hill to the mountains and struggled to get enough grunt to get back up but managed it in the end.

Took a little shortcut to the end, only flipped onto my roof once :D And guessed the backspace recovery key (though I see you listed it on your page too). Cool stuff!!

Hey,

Thanks for giving it a go. I am happy you had some fun with it.

I think I need to tone down those cameras a bit! Less cozy more camera-happy-snappy Drive currently! I was hoping to add a few more Irish influences in the final build, but didn't quite have time before the deadline hit.

Cheers for letting me know about the hillclimb, seems I made the car a tad too heavy... oops.

I streamed your game

Nice, cozy game. I'm not sure how much it fits as an interpretation of the theme, though.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing!

I had the idea for this game in mind before the theme dropped.  I was hoping to have time to make some adjustments to better fit the theme. I toyed with the idea of putting the entire landscape inside a 'SnowGlobe' and zooming in before play starts!

Unfortunately, I ran out of time before I had a chance to overhaul things. Hopefully, I can do a better job building around the theme for next year!

Thanks for giving it a go and taking the time to leave feedback.

Wonderful experience. Now I know what it feels like to be in a car commercial.

Nice, peaceful game. Really helped me come down from the craziness of some of the other entries. Great work, the controls were solid. Would be cool to have some things happening outside the car as you pass them by - some type of environmental storytelling that you can loosely follow as you go on your way. Nothing crazy, but a hint of narrative would definitely keep me behind the wheel for longer. Good job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the drive!

Definitely looking to add a bit more to make the drive more eventful. Kinda trying to find the balance between hitting my original goals & drifting too far into a more traditional racing/arcade experience.

I was chasing a bit of the EuroTruckSim/TrainSim style contemplative vibes but I think there's room to add some stuff in that makes it more engaging without ruining the overall chill vibes.

I like the idea of adding some petrol stations and a fuel mechanic to break up the road, throw in some roundabouts/turn signals and add some actual cars/traffic to the roads.

Also keep coming back to the idea of adding a parcel delivery mechanic as it gives me scope to give redesign the stage(s) and add a bit more character, direction and environmental storytelling to the experience.

Trying out a few new things whilst the ratings are on and then I'll polish up and see how it all comes together.

Thanks for playing and taking time to leave feedback.

Much appreciated!

Nice game! I enjoy relaxing cozy games like this. I better not drive if I ever visit Ireland, I racked up a bunch of fines

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to try the game out.

I think I may have gone a tad overboard with those cameras. Oops.

I hope you squeezed a bit of fun in between all those pesky fines!

Nice game, lovely relaxed feel to it and great graphics. Well done on this one.

Thanks very much for giving it a go.

Glad I got the relaxed vibes down, and the art was okay. Working on the custom art and ambience was a key goal for this one.

I checked out your game and had quite a bit of fun fending off those pesky giants!

very cosy beautiful game, good job

Thanks for giving it a go. Bit basic at the moment, but I will expand on it post-ratings. Hope you had a bit of fun with what's there.

Enjoyed your golf game and would strongly recommend people give it a whirl!

Enjoyed this a lot actually, I've sunk a lot of time into games like Euro Truck Sim 2 etc so not surprising haha. Wasn't aware Ireland stick so many speed cameras around!

Developer(+1)

Ha, normally it's the Gardaí you have to watch out for! They hide in the bushes, or so I hear.

Hoping to add some more trucksim-style mechanics to this shortly. Took a bit too long to get all the models, textures and tools together to really focus on the gameplay.

I have a bit more freedom to develop it now & I am intrigued to see where it ends up. It's certainly a nice distraction from bigger projects.

Thanks for checking it out!
