Fun game with few mechanics!
Awesome game. Great submission.
This is such a nice rhythm game. Also, the overall aesthetic is quite charming!
Thank you so much!
Cool game! I thought the option to pick what instrument to play was fun. I like the aesthetics of the game; it really brings the world to life. Good job! :D
Thank you!
Nice game but I did have some performance issues. The style was unique and I do enjoy a good rhythm game
Thank you for playing it! Were your performance issues only in the rhythm game or just in general? If only in the rhythm game, do you still get them in Free Mode from the main menu?
It was in general, had some severe frame rate dips. Could be on my end though
The game was lagging a lot, but my computer is old. Anyway it look very cool and I like the idea of playing instruments.
Ah sorry to hear that. Thank you for giving it a try though, and for the kind words about the look/idea!
The charming visuals and engaging rhythm mechanics made for a delightful experience. I appreciated that progression wasn't tied to perfect performance, allowing me to enjoy the game at my own pace. The variety of instruments and their unique challenges kept things fresh. Overall, a fantastic and polished entry, well done!
Thank you for playing and your kind words!
I really liked talking to the NPCs, it adds so much life to the game! I found getting perfect hits very challenging, but when I did it was very rewarding. Overall good job!
Thank you! And for sure, needed to spend a little more time tweaking the timing numbers for perfect/great/good/ok hits. Thinking about it, I think the issue for that is because initially I had hit detection be based on the visual notes and how close they were to the hit zone, but then I switched to purely timing-based detection (player hits key, code gets time of audio player, checks against array of all note timings extracted from the MIDI file)
Thank you for playing!
One of my favourite entries so far. You really did a good job with this one.
Look forward to seeing more from you in the future!
HOW DID YOU DO THIS ALONE?! This is so impressive, all the music is great (balancing for each instrument mustve been a headache), the visuals are GREAT, story is cute too - this is just overall really, really impressive! Congrats :D
...9 days straight of hard work lmao. Thankfully fairly quick with modelling in blender, importing reference images directly with xray mode on, and also have some good experience composing. So just played to my strengths I guess haha.
Thank you so much for playing, glad you enjoyed!
A++++++
I love love love rhythm games and this was so smooth and polished for a ten day game jam.
I so appreciate games where you can progress without performing well (I love rhythm games but I don't necessarily have the skills to back that up haha).
So much fun. Excellent characters. Fit perfectly with the theme.
Followed you. If you release this as a full game I'd buy it for sure.
Thank you so much!
Very fun and very polished game. I can't believe this was made during a 10 days gamejam, let alone by only one dev, amazing work x) Unfortunately I couldn't progress much into the game since I have the reflex of a sloth, or maybe even worse ahaha
Thank you! And yeah it was a lot of work, but it was fun to do :) Progression isn't locked by how well you do, just have to play the right songs to the right toys! Thank you for playing :)
It's the first rythm game i play, it was fun!
Thank you for playing!
Great fun, I'm terrible at music but had fun playing it. Dialogue was good as well as presentation. Great job.
Thank you!
Wow, that was amazing! So fun to play. Really liked the look of the toys and every about it. What a great entry.
Thank you so much!
I usually dislike games with that style of music playing challenge but this was super fun! I like the way different instruments are different difficulties. And I loved the dither effect - nice way to make low poly feel kinda like a real material instead of uber-shiny plastic everywhere.
Well-judged legth for the storyline, kept me going to the end.
Brilliant :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for playing and for the kind words!
Wow that escalated quickly! I should never pick up a musical instrument lol. It was a fun and challenging game! Well made.
Haha yeah my bad, between making all the assets and all the music and doing all the programming I had very little brain space to consider difficulty much! Glad you had fun :)
I'll be honest, this one really surprised me and I liked it quite a bit more than I expected to. The music tracks are all awesome, and the rhythm game felt very accurate (I feel like there's usually some latency issue or something with game jam rhythm games). I personally would have put all four keys next to each other because I think using the four fingers of one hand would be a lot easier than two from each hand, but I'm glad you had the songs play perfectly even if we made mistakes haha. The dialogue was also very funny, well done!!
Ah thank you! And yeah, it helped that I composed them myself and directly used the MIDI files I made to power both the note spawning and hit detection. Personally I prefer using two hands, but I did give the option to rebind in the main menu options :) Thanks again!
Ah oops I missed that! Fair enough!
Great game - I loved it!
I'm glad these toys aren't too picky. They seem to enjoy my songs even when I play terribly! ha ha
Haha thank you for playing!
Love the music and the style of the game. Thank you so much for not making a minimum score threshold to pass, as I got to enjoy all the songs and instruments without grinding away at the buttons. The music variety is great, the models are a funny collections. Worth it for the concert, super hard to nail the tempo at some songs but it works great!
Thank you for playing! And yeah, some songs are in 3/4 some are in 4/4, some songs are in 4/4 but have a triplet feel etc, so it can be a bit tricky, glad you enjoyed it though!
