Great fun, I'm terrible at music but had fun playing it. Dialogue was good as well as presentation. Great job.

Thank you!

Wow, that was amazing! So fun to play. Really liked the look of the toys and every about it. What a great entry.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!

I usually dislike games with that style of music playing challenge but this was super fun! I like the way different instruments are different difficulties. And I loved the dither effect - nice way to make low poly feel kinda like a real material instead of uber-shiny plastic everywhere.

Well-judged legth for the storyline, kept me going to the end.

Brilliant :)

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for playing and for the kind words!

Wow that escalated quickly! I should never pick up a musical instrument lol. It was a fun and challenging game! Well made.

Developer

Haha yeah my bad, between making all the assets and all the music and doing all the programming I had very little brain space to consider difficulty much! Glad you had fun :)

I'll be honest, this one really surprised me and I liked it quite a bit more than I expected to. The music tracks are all awesome, and the rhythm game felt very accurate (I feel like there's usually some latency issue or something with game jam rhythm games). I personally would have put all four keys next to each other because I think using the four fingers of one hand would be a lot easier than two from each hand, but I'm glad you had the songs play perfectly even if we made mistakes haha. The dialogue was also very funny, well done!!

Developer(+1)

Ah thank you! And yeah, it helped that I composed them myself and directly used the MIDI files I made to power both the note spawning and hit detection. Personally I prefer using two hands, but I did give the option to rebind in the main menu options :) Thanks again!

Ah oops I missed that! Fair enough!

Great game - I loved it!

I'm glad these toys aren't too picky. They seem to enjoy my songs even when I play terribly! ha ha

Developer

Haha thank you for playing!

Love the music and the style of the game. Thank you so much for not making a minimum score threshold to pass, as I got to enjoy all the songs and instruments without grinding away at the buttons. The music variety is great, the models are a funny collections. Worth it for the concert, super hard to nail the tempo at some songs but it works great!

Developer

Thank you for playing! And yeah, some songs are in 3/4 some are in 4/4, some songs are in 4/4 but have a triplet feel etc, so it can be a bit tricky, glad you enjoyed it though!

Guitar Hero for the PC. I liked it a lot. The songs got hard but they were still fun.

Thanks for the game play

Developer

Thank you for playing!

game with a unique style, really good, congratulations brother

I know two things.

1. this looked and was good

2. and I'm horror at rhythm games

Developer

Hahaha thank you, I did get a little too note-happy, but for most I did try to have some instruments be the "easier" tracks to play for songs (mostly, I failed on some *cough* the concert song), playing the most recently unlocked instrument isn't necessary for progression

I am terrible at these types of games. Friends have made fun of me lol because I can play guitar but can't play guitar hero! Really difficult for me but I wanted to say. If you turned this into a horror game. I think the aesthetic and sound effects. HOLY SHIT this would be a fire horror game. I don't know if you're interested in that route but I think this style would fit so well. Really liked the aesthetic of the game :)

Developer(+1)

Haha I'm the same way, with actual guitar hero I'm awful, but I play lead guitar in the band I'm in. Was pretty good at Beat Saber though, and decent at keyboard-rhythm games like what I made. Thank you for playing and the kind words, and having this devolve into a horror game would be fun, kind of like doki doki literature club where it starts out innocent and then as you play.... yeah I could see that working!

Lovely game with great music! Especially loved all the harp melodies! This was my first time playing a rhythm game, but Im so glad i did, and you pulled off a lot of things in a short amount of time.. the story was good and some of the dialogues were really funny :D great work!

Developer

Thank you so much!

I absolutely love it and I had fun. Thanks god the game allow a score of 0 and still progress ! I just have nothing to say about this game. And bonus point for the use of this wooden art figure !

Developer

Thank you! And yeah, I didn't want to lock progression behind score or performance, because as the only developer, and having wrote the music and mapped the notes in the game myself, and being decent at rhythm games, I knew I was not gonna be a good judge of difficulty lmao. And yeah I love the lil anatomy doll, I wanted the player character to be a little more ambiguous but also I really really wanted one of those as a kid hahaha

Lovely vibrant visuals and fun dialogue! I really liked this game! If only I'd practiced more in Guitar Hero and played a little better! But the game doesn’t punish you for mistakes, so that's nice!

Developer

Thank you!

Guitar hero without guitar, I like it :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, I really didn’t expect that, but I enjoyed it. I loved the look of the game, though the filter made it a bit hard to follow the notes. Even so, the game is fun, I love the talking sound, and the songs themselves are nice to listen to!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! And yeah I should've added a setting to disable the dithering :)

Submitted

I'm torn in half. On one hand, I really like that effect, it really fits the game. On the other hand, it made it harder to play.

Submitted(+1)

Not sure if I had some visual glitches on my machine or if it was the art style but the visuals were a bit grainy? You've put so much work into this game though, amazing job! I'm not good with music so I dont think I could do the game justice really.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I added a dithering post-process filter to make it feel more "retro", and to make the lowpoly and single-colour/atlas-textured models seem a little less bland, but I definitely should've added a setting to disable/enable it.

Lovely game, and enjoyed hearing about your development on the discord. I like the way you have done it and you have a good collection of music you have made.

I did find a bug where I could still move about while in a conversation and even get into another conversation with someone else - but that was me testing and probably wouldnt usually happen.

congrats and well done

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! And damn I thought I fixed that!

Edit: Just looked, I have a global "is_talking" variable, that when true disallows movement, but at no point do I set it to true when the player starts dialogue, whoops

Really interesting idea...Like the guitar hero style instrument gameplay.

Developer

Thank you!
