Fun game! I played it for half an hour. I wish there was more strategy. The levers are helpful, but sometimes hard to use since they are physical objects that don’t move with the camera. I also feel like it would have been more fun if the money had some kind of use apart from paying for levers.
Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the game. These are just a few suggestions I think could make it even better!
Really fun and well-made game. I have to say I really enjoyed it. The mouse sensitivity was a little slow, but you can get used to it quite easily. I loved that you can control the game entirely from the keyboard. The level design was great, the gameplay was fun, and the music was really good.
By level 2, I started to feel a bit overpowered, which to be fair is pretty fitting for a scorpion. My attacks could one-hit bosses, and I had strong healing, so they didn’t really have a chance to damage me. But that’s just a minor balance issue that a lot of RPG games deal with.
Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the game, and if you decide to update and expand it after the jam, please let me know!
Thank you very much! We’re really glad you enjoyed the game. It feels amazing to know that people are having fun with something you created.
We're sorry you had trouble with the background elements. It's our first time designing a 2D side-scroller, let alone a platformer, and we missed that part. Apparently, when you design the level yourself, it’s obvious to you what’s in the background and what’s in the foreground, but not necessarily for the player.
We’re planning to continue developing the game after the jam, and that’s one of the things we definitely plan to fix.
Thank you for the review! We are glad that you enjoyed it, it means alot for us, the floatines of the player as to make it feel as if the player is alot smaller then he actually is but appearently alot of player didn't like that while other did, we will probably try make the player movement feel better after the game jam end!
Really nice game! It took me some time to find the fairy ring, but it was quite enjoyable. The world is full of content and the story is nice. My only problem is that the player movement feels way too fast, which for some reason gave me motion sickness. But I managed to get over it and finish the game, and grow back.
Amazing game! I can't believe you created that in just 7 days. The aesthetic is great, the music is great, and it really reminds me of old-school point-and-click adventures. You even took the time to make sure the little details were there, like making the character brighter in the light and darker in the dark. Really amazing work!!!
That person needs to see a doctor fast. He only has one white blood cell, and it’s not doing a great job (at least when I’m controlling it). Other than that, I really like the mechanic. The controls feel solid. It’s just missing background music, more enemy variety, and some upgrades for the character would be nice too.
What a pleasant surprise! I wasn’t expecting much since the game doesn’t have a cover image, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this game. It’s really fun, the special effects look beautiful, and the controls feel really solid.
My suggestion would be to change the background to something with texture, so it’s easier to tell that you’re moving. Also, adding more enemy types would make the game more interesting. Finally, a death screen showing your high score and how long you survived would be a great addition.
Nice game! It was a little difficult at the beginning until I figured out that you can crouch. I enjoyed it, and the difficulty felt just right.
My only problems were that the story moved too fast for me, so I had a hard time reading it, and that the platforms had side collisions. That made some of the jumps really difficult since I kept hitting the sides.
Other than that, I really enjoyed it!
Nice game! I really love the idea and think that if you develop it more, it could turn into a great game. I feel like everything you need is already there. You’re just missing a reason to keep playing, like upgrading the cave, keeping the human alive, or reaching a modern city. Stuff like that. But it's probably too much for that game jam, and there just isn't enough time.
Nice game! At first I thought the music was weird, but after playing, it actually fits the game really well. The graphics are solid too.
As for my suggestions, I would try making it so you have a limited number of reveals, and each one you pop gives some kind of hint about where the coin is. That way it would be more challenging, since right now you can just spam-click to win.
Also, just a heads-up, at least on my computer the fullscreen button completely breaks the game. You might want to disable it.
Yeah, I feel you. We also wanted to make a much bigger game, but it took us a long time to figure out the right idea, something we felt we could actually finish in time and still make fun to play. Sadly, we also started running out of time, so we had to drop a lot of planned stuff like enemies, the story, and fixing the parallax so it would loop properly and not look like the background was getting cut.
I’m really glad you and your team managed to release your game in time for the competition. I was already freaking out trying to finish ours 2.5 hours before the deadline. I can’t imagine what it was like finishing yours just 2 minutes before!
Really well-made game. It looks clean and plays well. The art looks great and very polished, and the music fits really well. Overall, the game feels very professional. The only thing I would change is how picking up items works. Right now, it drops them first before letting you pick them up again. Also, it would be better if selecting another item kept the dirt enabled after dropping an item, to make it easier to use.
