Great little cozy game to play! I was a little confused at the beginning on how to actually place the blocks and I think an indicator on which item is selected would be a great addition. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot :D Noted, we'll make sure to add it in the next update x)

Congrats on your submission! I couldn't play in the browser due to the size.  I downloaded the exe for windows and it played fine.  I got the 100 faith multiple times, but there didn't seem to be an end.  I actually had a pretty big world going.  I did find a weird issue where a human would be next to food and would stand there and just die.  It happened a few times, there was plenty of berries, chicken, deer, water and trees, so I'm not sure if they died of "old age" or what, but they would not move and their health would just drop.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing and for the feedbacks :D Yes that's a bug with the behavior of the humans on specific cases, we're on it right now and some other bug fixes too.

Submitted(+1)

Really  liked the concept for this, I think this could be a great game with some more development and new blocks etc. I found it a little bit clunky having to right click and then use wasd to move the camera, but overall really great job with this submission!

Developer

Thank you for trying it out :D Yeah the game still lacks content at this point and we're working on expanding it more.  Also we'll try experimenting on some more camera controls to find the one that fits the game the most :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, It would be great if I could get the villagers to work.

Developer

Thank you :) Yeah that's something we're planning to add

Submitted(+1)

Nice game. I only played for a short period of time because the game loads up bigger than my browser window and it was difficult to navigate because of that. I tried in two different browsers and had the same issue. I don't see anyone else commenting on that thought so it's probably something on my end.

Developer

Thank you for playing :) Hmm I'm gonna check on that in case it's an issue from the game

I also wanted to create a 3D game but I had no really good idea, so I went with my speed platformer. So, I really like yours. The colors are nice. And it’s a good balance between simplicity and game play.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! :D Glad you liked it

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! I really love the idea and think that if you develop it more, it could turn into a great game. I feel like everything you need is already there. You’re just missing a reason to keep playing, like upgrading the cave, keeping the human alive, or reaching a modern city. Stuff like that. But it's probably too much for that game jam, and there just isn't enough time.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it out :D Yeah that's the main issue of the game currently, we just went for the "it's a sandbox game so your goal is to create your own beautiful tiny world" for the time being xD But we will definitely improve the gameplay

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

That could be a good start. Maybe if tiles could have some synergy between them, it would add more depth to the gameplay. Also, I had a kind of low-opacity panel covering the game most of the time I’m not sure if it’s a bug or an indicator for something I missed. Overall, it's still a good submission. Good job to your whole team!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing :D Yeah we though about adding that too but couldn't make it in time, will add it in the future. Hmm... I'll check about that panel, thanks for the feedback :)

Submitted

No worries, it's my bad. I don't know why, but my web browser kept selecting and unselecting the whole screen for some reason xD

Submitted(+1)

Yeah the low-opacity panel is a bug in non-Chromium-based browsers, I had the same problem.

Submitted

Oh ok, I didn’t know that, thanks!

Submitted(+1)

It's a fun experience, I loved my first steps in it. Other than a bit of sounds effects, and guidance I think the game could have a great future. Good job to the team !

Developer

Thank you very much for playing, glad you loved it :D

This was very impressive. I really liked how clean feel it had. Reminded me about maybe Black&White. I think the tutorial needs to be more informant and I was really waiting for some kind of a sound when I buy stuff. Anyways I maxed out my faith and then I think my other human died of old age. Nice work, congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much :D I also came across Black&White when looking for games with similar mechanics, and I think we might pick some ideas from it for future development x) Yeah the game still needs a lot of improvement, especially on the UI/UX part. Thanks again for playing

Submitted(+2)

I love how your tutorial just cuts off because you ran out of time XD. I soft locked myself because I did not realize my humans were starving lol. Anyway, it has some good mechanics for a sandbox game, and I would love to see you continue to work on this.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a bunch for playing :D Yeah many people get soft locked on their first try, it's imperative that we add some game over screen or some ways to get out of it and continue playing. Happy you enjoyed it, and we will absolutely continue working on it x)

Submitted(+2)

Great game! I am excited to see if anything happens with this in the future. It was really fun to play after getting used to the mechanics.

One thing I would add is something that explains about placing the tiles (players and food) down a little more as I was confused at first.

After figuring out the mechanics the game was a lot of fun! Great job

Developer

Thank you for playing! :D Yeah our game also still needs lots of polishing, and the tutorial is definitely one of them x) So glad you liked it

Submitted(+2)

Quite an interesting game. Took me a second to understand how the mechanics work, but it is a nice game with lots o potential that can get you addicted and keep you playing for long periods of time. So good job!

Developer

Thank you for giving it a try :D

Submitted(+2)

Took me a little bit to get to grips with the mechanics and what I was doing, with placing the food on grass but after that wee learning curve, the second time around was all good. Well done on implementing those mechanics, must've been tricky to get right. Overall it's a brilliant job with a lot of polish, especially within the time frame. You guys done really well ^^

Developer(+2)

Thanks a lot for trying it out :D Yeah we also should've added some UI for showing the constraints of each placeable element, but due to lack of time we couldn't add it (we joined the jam midway, on day 5 x) ). We're happy you liked it :)

Submitted(+1)

I was already impressed that you all made this in 10 days, and now I know you did it in half the time, bravo!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Wow this is cool and very addictive. Is it possible to erase block or change it?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our game :D As of now there's no way to remove, change or move a block yet, it requires to update many datas and values that are used in other features of the game (for instance the pathfinding) and we didn't have enough time to make it. But that's definitely in our to-do list

Submitted(+2)

I loved this game! Everything about it feels so polished, pleasant, and breathtaking. I especially enjoyed the freedom it gives to build your own world. Great game!

Developer

Hey thanks a lot for playing! Always appreciate it when people enjoy the game x)

Submitted(+1)

Hey, great job. Some of the mechanics you used in this game are hard mechanics, so congrats on implementing those well. Loved the idea of making my tiny world. :) Maybe the water or something can give you one passive "faith" because I ran out after stepping away and pretty much had no way of recovering my world from extinction haha. Loved this game.

Developer

Thank you so much for trying it out! So glad you loved it :D

Yeah, it was pretty tough to implement some of those mechanics. Our initial idea was even more ambitious (no pun intended): we wanted the player to be able to create their own small planet using cubes. So basically, it would have resembled your game in style, but with a cubic world instead of a spherical one. Trying to implement that however turned into a complete nightmare, from messy pathfinding to dealing with gimbal lock and struggling to understand quaternions. So we had to scale it down a bit xD

Initially running out of Faith and humans would be the 'Game over' condition of the game, but a world object giving passive Faith doesn't sound like a bad idea, thanks for the suggestion :)

Submitted(+2)

Really solid game! I was messing around with a block placing game myself before the jam - didn't think of using it in the jam, so good job being creative - I hadn't thought of using this idea for the theme, but it makes sense in your game! I really like what you have - a lot of really fleshed out and polished UI, so that's awesome! I would love to see how you would expand on this game.

A couple things to note: The texture of the rock was missing and the shadow of the cactus looked a little off.

Otherwise, great game!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you very much :D Glad you appreciated it. Would've loved to see another block placing game, never having enough of it haha. Gonna take a look at those visual issues, generally they only happen in the webgl version it's so frustrating ahahah

Submitted

Ok, I am glad I am not alone in finding strange bugs in webGL version - same for our game (our flag doesn't even at the end of the pole doesn't even spawn). I was mentioning those visual bugs in case you weren't aware. Great game!

PS - when I was doing my block placing test - I got stuck with it trying to spawn a block inside another - curious how you handled figuring out how to place the block if the one they were looking at was occupied (I guess I always tried placing mine on a plane, so that could mean we approached it completely differently)

Submitted(+2)

A cool game! The UI was very polished and the gameplay was good. The web version had some issue with the screen size. Overall a very nice game and I hope you expand it further!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing and for the feedbacks :D I'm gonna check the issue with the web version. And yeah, expansion is on the way, but may take quite some more time :)

Submitted(+2)

It was fun. Felt like a God while playing it. I was trying to pan using middle mouse habitually lol

Developer

Thanks for trying our game out :D

Yeah that was also the original design for camera movement, but then we found out this one was a tad better for this kind of game x)
