Overall, it's a good game and a fun one. Is it possible to have AI competing with us?

Developer

Thank you for playing. I am glad you liked it.

I will hopefully update this game after the Jam to include the option to play alone, with a friend, or with AI. Along with fixing a few other small bugs. ^^;

Loved the intro! Super funny! Great game with a great art style! A few things I noted, intended to be helpful for you, is as follows:

1) The planets coming to a stop took a long time, so I was waiting for a while to take my next shot

2) I was able to sink all the planets on my first turn without letting the other player take a turn

3) It is a bummer that is is a two player game, I thought you had an AI setup for the second player, so I played again to see how it was and was disappointed it was not something in the game - I don't blame you, that can be hard to figure out!

Cool quick game, good job making this!

Thank you for the kind words and helpful comments.

Yeah, AI would have made a lot of difference. Though for a game jam game, I was just happy to finish this much in time. It might be a nice after-jam addition, though.

The planet's movement was tricky, and as you say, it takes a while to stop moving. Each planet has its own mass and drag based on its size, ill look into that as well after the jam.

As for sinking all the planets on your first turn, perhaps an angry message from Player 2 would be a good addition. :p

Thank you for playing and commenting!

Great setup, cool vibe

A very literal interpretation of the theme! It was nice little pool simulator with good artwork and appropriate music. One thing I would have liked to see was the friction on the planets be a little stronger. It sometimes took quite some time between strokes while waiting for the planets to slow down.

A really interesting idea for interpreting the theme. Nicely done :D

Pool with planets! Great concept! I loved it, nice done!

This is a nice take on billiard! The vibe and the aesthetic are great.

Really well-made game and it looks great... Well done!

God billiards! How fun is that? I really love hitting those planetary balls! Though I was kinda expecting an AI opponent - felt a little weird playing against myself! Overall, it's a beautiful game with stunning artwork!

good game, I like the concept and the intro and all of the art style was lovely. I felt like I wanted to smash the planets harder and see them go further + it did take a while for the planets to come to a rest so I could take another shot. Overall it was well done and im sure it could be refined and made even more satisfying, well done

Cosmic billiards? I'm in!
Nice gameplay and artstyle! My only suggestion were something AlsoFunGames have already pointed out, to speed up the game after the initial impact, etc.

Beautiful game and a great use of the theme. I was able to line up some pretty cool shots and I loved the tiny text bubbles that popped up when dooming a planet!

I love your artstyle, also physics felt really good. Nice one!

Great game and theme!  Didn't expect to play a billiards game in a game jam :)  I wish there was a way to speed up the turn after the initial impact.  The balls kind move too slowly and I guess there is a lot of calculations happening in the back to find the results and queue up the next turn.  Is there supposed to be an 8-ball mechanic / a ball that we're not supposed to hit in until the very end?

Thanks for trying it!

I decided to forego the full rules of pool in favour of a simpler "pot planets to get points" mechanic. So there is no 8 ball. Though it's a nice idea. The  8 ball could have been the only populated planet.

Sorry about the reset speed. It's waiting for the planets to fully stop rolling and rotating. All the planets have mass appropriate for their size, and some of them keep rotating imperceptibly for longer than I would like.  ^^;

That intro is epic!
