Loved the ambience of the game. To be able to implement two game genres in one game says alot about the planning that went into the game. Great work
Thanks :)
Really enjoyed this. Great job
Thanks :)
I had a good time with your game! Very relaxing and well made game!
Thank you :) That's nice to hear.
A very nice, cozy game. You have done a very good job. It was a lot of fun to play.
Thanks :) I'm glad you like it :)
The item-swapping puzzle is classic, tried-N-true, and fun. The connection to the anthill and how that works is tricky to figure out, but I got it after a second attempt. I enjoy the AI characters and their turns, that is well done. However, I do wish there was an option to only play against 1 CPU if I wish. It can get tedious waiting on all 3 every single turn. Some very specific feedback on that note: the big words "Wait your turn" during the AI turns are problematic imo. Perhaps a "CPU 1's turn", "CPU 2's turn, etc. That way it doesn't potentially come across as irritating to more impatient players. This was impressive, well done!
Thanks for the detailed feedback! :) "CPU 1's turn" also appears briefly (on the tile board). Overall, I was thinking about various configurations, but I ran out of time to implement a proper options menu.
Totally get the time crunch thing. Family ate up most of my time, and I didn't get to add any sounds at all until an hour before I posted. Your UI in general was way more advanced than I am at yet. That's why I didn't do any of that this go round lol.
Good work on this! I had a lot of fun with it.
Thanks :)
Not usually a fan of match-3 games but found this game fun and engaging, overall a very polished experience! Playing against AI added a nice level of competition within the game as well. Good job!
Thanks :)
Fun game, I liked it a lot! I don't think I have seen a multiplayer match-3 game like this before. 🐜
Thanks :)
the game fits super super perfectly into the theme, i love the mix of building the colony and playing candy crash like games with some tactics to get the required resoucres for laying eggs and making the colony bigger, it was really impressive game, Great Job!
Thank you for your feedback :)
The winner is PLAYER!
I was playing for awhile, but didn’t understand that the ant hill didn’t grow automatically based on my games. The computer slowly grew ahead of me. By the time I realized it, the lead CPU was already at 15 ants! I was able to defy the odds and pull ahead and still win by a single ant!
Awesome game! Love the integration of the theme into this style of play. Well done!
Thanks :)
Very cool game jam submission, kudos to the team who made a very complete game in a record time. The mechanics are smooth and deep, with a nice balancing. The ants walking around make for a nice side visual browsing that fits the jam's theme "Tiny World". The soothing music, classic match 3 loop and competition against the other 3 CPU-managed enemies, this is an impressive feat and a strong design. Well done.
*Also bonus point for a simple yet nice & useful tutorial explaining the rules at the beginning.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)
Nice game. It takes some time to complete.
Thanks :)
30 ants is a strong commitment during a game jam but I enjoyed the game enough to push through!
The trouble with mixing strategy and Match3 games is that there's so much luck involved in the generation of the board. Especially so if you have four players all using the same one, the natural instinct of setting up future combos becomes a detrimental playstyle. It seems that the CPU opponents go for random combinations rather than focusing on what they actually need, so their odds of success are adequately lowered.
Watching my ants scurrying around to the right of the board was a nice, and necessary, touch to keep a focus on the ultimate objective. It does naturally make me wonder what they're all doing, though I suppose having them go out to gather resources on their own would tip the balance even further into a 'rich get richer' sort of snowball effect.
Thanks! And congrats on reaching 30 ants — that’s quite an achievement! Yeah, 30 ants is a bit over the top ;) And yes, opponent moves are random (ran out of time to make a smarter AI). As for the combined board, I wasn’t fully aware of the issue when designing it that way, but I see your point and would probably consider a different solution now. Thanks for the constructive feedback :)
interesting twist with the match 3. It would maybe be better if you introduced some bonussus in the mix. Or possible to attack opponents?
I was thinking about adding bonuses and enemy combat, but due to time constraints, I had to give up on those ideas and ultimately decided to focus on finishing what I was realistically able to complete :)
Wow, nice use of the mechanics. Also cool concept, Good job in making this cool game experience!
Thanks :)
Always love a match 3 game. Nice one
Thanks :)
Great game with consistent gameplay and nice music, very well done! I really enjoyed playing it, thank you 🐜
Congratulations! 😊 And thanks :)
nice spin on this style of game. I enjoyed it and was interesting playing against a few AIs rather than just 1 (or none). Good work.
Thank you :)
It’s intersting to have to compete against three adversaries.
How do you make sure that CPU opponent don’t win every time against the player ?
I’ve put a leash on the CPU 😉 Enemies can’t have more than 5 eggs and 5 larvae at a time, which slows down their progress a bit.
Ok.
Very cool game, played till the end!
Congratulations! 😊
