Cool idea and I really like the presentation! Had a bit of a *ruff* time with the platforming, though. In particular, vertical jumping is very challenging as is. The dash is also pretty sweet and I enjoyed using it a lot. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely planning on expanding this and seeing where I can take it. Thanks again!

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback! I like the idea of formations a lot, that would definitely be something that could give the player a nice level of control on the fly. I feel like there's a lot of ways it could go, and I'm looking forward to trying out a lot of different elements with this one in the future.

Super clever idea for a little game. That looks like a tough job, glad I wasn't born a sock gnomer! The music reminded me of the Wii Shop a bit for some reason. Good stuff, thanks for sharing!

Really fun game! A bit tricky to understand at first, but once it clicks, it's really cool. Wasn't sure hot to beat it, but I did make a bunch of flashlights and sticks and had a great time. Great mechanics and a nice soothing atmosphere. Thanks for sharing!

Super impressive game! Like Mewgenics but way more relaxing. Nice vibes and nice mechanics. Really well done game, wish I could have spent more time with it and actually beaten it, I think it's super neat. Thanks for sharing!

I like your take on Snake. I think this is a very cool implementation of the core idea with a lot of neat power ups and room for the player to improve their skills as they shoot for a high score. Great aesthetics and mechanics all around. Also love any game that plays nice on arcade stick. Perhaps the most clever part of this game is how you implemented the enemies. The spread and approach is dangerous but not overwhelming for this kind of game, which allows the player to spend more time improving. Great job!

Thank you for the feedback! Sometimes the best connection is the one where the characters are all bunched up! Cheers!

Really neat idea, and I really like the idea of the mechanics. A bit too hard to understand how to play as it is though. Took me a while to find the pause menu, which was mapped to escape, since escape is also mapped to exiting full screen in the browser. But even then I was struggling to figure out how the mechanics work. This looks like a really cool game, I just wish there were a more detailed text or video tutorial so I could understand the mechanics better. Thanks for sharing.

It's funny, I was expecting more Vampire Survivors-style games in this game jam, but this is the first I've run into. And I gotta say, you did a great job. Really great aesthetics especially, and I love that level up screen. The game is also super fun and I didn't run into any bugs to speak of. Those bad guys may think they're tough, but that's only because they haven't seen the destructive power of my ultimate diagonal movement! I guess my only real constructive criticism is maybe turn down the music a bit by default, maybe by half. Good job on this one, thanks for sharing!

It's all good! I was just trying to play it with WASD mapped to my arcade stick and confused a bit at first. Cool game though!

Fresh One sounds like the protag is straight out of 90s Bel Air. I like it! (Although, by the end, he's more like fresh meat for that anomaly.) Cool idea of putting the pieces together, and I enjoyed the gravity control especially. A little hard to fight enemies consistently but luckily they weren't quite tough enough to stop this fresh one! Fun little game, thanks for sharing!

Cool idea! Really like the way you interpreted the theme as the mechanic. And the world always needs more space shooters. Not sure if I didn't check, but would have preferred to use WASD instead of mouse. Interestingly, you can use WASD, but the ship will fight against the movement and try to go towards the mouse when you let go of a button. Also, could use some kind of collider around the screen to stop the player from exiting the game area. Man, that boss did not mess around! Really cool little game, thanks for sharing!

Aaww thanks! It's a starting point for a prototype anyway. Was really impressed by your game and looking forward to seeing more from you. Keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I don't think the transparency which correlated to the wagon's life was very useful, especially with how overtuned the enemies ended up being. Healing the wagon is a total possibility too. Thanks again!

The shield gets more transparent as it takes damage, but it was definitely not enough of an indicator. I originally planned to have anybody who died get teleported into the wagon and healed by the shaman hiding inside and then respawn after a rebirth bar had filled, but I am unfortunately very terrible with my time management. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you Hex Pointer!

Thanks! Yeah I kind of maybe overtuned the hell out of the enemies in the last half hour or so before the deadline. One of these days I'm going to manage my time well during a game jam!

Really neat little game! Enjoyed it a lot, once I figured out how to play it. On that note, I think you could include some more instructions as to how the game plays control-wise in the description or gradually reveal it through steps in the game itself to make it more apparent. Managed to make it to the end once I figured it out, but I was very close to just closing the game before I figured out how to play it. I'm glad I didn't, though! Cool game! Keep up the good work!

Wow! There was an absolute dearth of 2D platformers in this game jam, so I'm so happy to see this. And not only was it a really fun little platformer with some great progression and fun levels, but it also had a wonderful little story. And all that wrapped up in this great little handcrafted art style. Very cool, thanks for sharing.

"I'm getting too old for this," thought purple Yoshi with a white beard. "The piranha plants, the pipes, the pipes, the piranha plants, the pipes, etc. My only hope is to press space bar, c, the up arrow key, or w." No matter what, they just kept coming. "I'm too old for this, but I can't stop...If I stop..." The purple Yoshi with the white beard shuddered. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he stopped pressing the space bar, c, the up arrow key, or w. "I don't have a choice in the matter...which is why I'll keep pressing space bar, c, the up arrow key, or w! You think I'd quit? Not when...not when I have life left in me. Now when I'm so close. So close..."

Digging the vibe! Unfortunately, hard to kill enemies as it is, it seems like their hitboxes are just too powerful. Also, wasn't sure what to do after hitting R and coming out the other side of the blockade. I think you have a great start here though, just need to refine and build off it. Thanks for sharing!

Not only is it beautiful and complete, but the controls are super intuitive and yet responsive. That kind of intuitive yet novel control is something truly special. Love the atmosphere as well. I also appreciate the idea of having ratings for completing levels quickly. If I may be so bold, if you are considering expanding this, I think it would be cool if you unlocked additional pieces of story/lore when you achieve those higher rating completions of each level, with a true ending unlocked if you achieve all the max scores for each level. Bravo, and thanks for sharing!

You had me at legalese designed to protect the company's predatory monetization! Big fan of multiplayer worlds as well as pressing up and down, so this game was right up my alley. A+++ would explore the distant corners and shores of Bezaroth again

The relays have have connected and the game may be over, but I can still hear that music.
Doo do do do do do do do-da-doo.
Good game!

Really cool idea for a tower defense! I also had a bit of an issue with the tutorial being a little confusing, but on my second try it totally clicked and I was able to defend the Hexes. Very unique idea and very well executed. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Such an impressive game you've got here, with a lot of cool mechanics and some real complexity! I only wish I had a brain slug on  my head with a pro stealth 'em up fan controlling the other end. I really suck at this! But it's okay, I get to enjoy the sweet death animation, which is probably more than I deserve for my severe lack of skills. Maybe gets a little too hard too fast, but it's still a very impressive game you've got here and I'd love to see more of it in the future.

Thanks!

Perhaps the chilliest game I've played in the jam. Match and chill is a pretty sweet genre! I like the aesthetic and the choice to go with runes, it creates a very nice atmosphere. I had a lot of fun with this one, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the feedback! The smooshing characters seems to be the winning play as it currently is. It's definitely something I'd like to spend a lot more time on, since it's so basic at the moment. Cheers!

(1 edit)

This is the first entry in the game jam I've seen that admits to being created almost entirely with AI. As such, I think that, regardless of one's opinion on AI, it's a very interesting entry in that we are able to see what can be done with this emerging technology at this time in the context of this game jam. I'd say the game plays well and is very polished, which is pretty impressive for someone who was just learning the basics. I was able to beat Tofu okay and had some fun with that, but I found Minty to be too overwhelming with all that text in the context of a timed Simon Says game. It seems a bit too hectic to me to have to memorize and repeat the Simon Says pattern with one hand and one brain side while having to decode and answer a riddle with the other brain side and the other hand, but it's also possible that I'm just a scrub. Thanks for this submission!

Fun little game! I cleared out the dungeon but it seemed like my only reward was a free sword every time I passed by the wizard, which, if you think about it, is a pretty sweet reward! Glad to see an action rpg like this in the jam, I had fun with it. A little tricky to start with, but once you get the hang of it, the baddies don't stand a chance.

I enjoyed pondering my orb as this game played upon its surface. Alas, I was unable to deliver the orb, due to a lack of sufficient mana on my end. Cool idea for a game and I really liked the art and aesthetic.

Really cool game! Very complete and solid with great aesthetics and mechanics. Took a little bit to really understand what was going on but I ended up beating the bonus level. Some very creative uses of what seems like a simple mechanic, and very on-point for the theme. Thanks for sharing!

It's all good, she definitely needed a bit more polish than I had time for. Thanks for playing!

Really great little self-contained story! Had a lot of fun playing through it. Love the aesthetics and great choice on the music. Digging the Snatcher vibes too. It's always impressive when there's a complete story like this in a game jam game. Great job!

Who knew simple shapes could be so terrifying? Great design decisions all around, from having the currency also be the ammo to enemy behavior and the stirring feature. Very fun game with a satisfying sense of progression up until the end. Thanks for sharing!

Gameplay-wise, gotta be one of my favorites in the jam this year. Not that the graphics are any slouch either--it looks great and I love the style. Also appreciate that slight amount of randomness as to what music track you're getting in a run. Simple but endlessly optimizable is one of my favorite combinations for a game jam game, and this one fits the bill. as banging my head against the roof of 1200 points for a while there, but I finally broke through. Is 1400 possible?! I'd like to think so, but I'd also like to stay sane, so I'm going to have to pass on trying for that. Great game, super addictive, thanks for sharing!

Cool idea and very theme appropriate. Unfortunately, I got stuck on a point after connecting a bunch of other ones and it didn't seem like there was anything I could do. Altogether a neat game though.

Had a lot of fun with this one! Linked all 9 stations and fought off against some big baddie. Felt like a complete and polished space ship shooter experience and I enjoyed it the whole time. Kudos to your team and thanks for sharing.
