Really cool idea. I like this drawn art style. Good work!

Cute game, I love the trees, did you make them ?

Would have been cool to see the range of the fairies like how near should them come to so they are together and how far are they in the shadows / lights. There is a couple of ways to do it that would fit.

More diversity in enemies and fairies would be a cool scale up of this game!

Developer(+3)

thanks. good ideas :)

Yeah. My wife painted the stuff ... then i scanned them an made meshes in unity

Submitted(+1)

It makes them even more cool that they were really handpainted!
Awesome work you two!

Submitted

That's so wholesome!!

Submitted(+1)

Great art, good idea in general

Submitted(+1)

Very nice game! Visual and atmosphere are awesome!

It took me a couple of tries to figure out how it works, but in the end once you get it things go smoothly.

Submitted(+1)

Sweet! Loved the visual and the sound design :)

I got stuck on level 3, I presume there should have been 3 fairies? Because when I brought the two that I got together nothing happened...

Developer

You have to bring all 4 fairies together at one save spot :)

Submitted

Well but only two spawned. Maybe just a fluke

Developer(+1)

In the third level 3 fairies should spawn at the left and petrify immediately. One appears on the right side. This one has to rescue the 3 left fairies :)

No guarantee that there couldn't be any bugs though :D

Visuals and sounds are great! However the first time I played I got stuck on the 1st level when on enemy turn enemy just don't move.

But overall very good game, enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Love the sound the light makes when it moves.  Seems like taking it slow and safe is the way to play. Might be good to restrict the number of turns?

Developer

thanks for playing. This is a very good idea.

My mother just said she needs a relaxing game and I told her she has to play this one :P

Very cool artworks and cool design idea. Maybe obstacles that move between turns would be a nice addition in later levels or maybe bushes which don't have enough leaves to block the light but prevent passage. So much potential... :D

Developer

Thanks for playing and good idea though.

my mother did some playtesting yesterday too :D

I got soft-locked on the first level :(( I was not able to continue

Developer

Can you explain a bit?

Submitted (1 edit)

I was moving the fairies around for a little while without touching the supposed "end turn" button because the button icon looked like it would take me back to the menu instead. Then, when I tried clicking on that button to see if the game would continue, and I realized that it was the end turn button when the light finally moved. I don't remember whether I moved a fairy or not after this, but immediately after I clicked the end turn button again and got the enemy's turn again, the light never moved, and it was never my turn again.

I hope this is detailed enough to understand what went wrong!

A very neat concept and of the few levels there are, they are all well designed. However, movement is a bit odd, and sometimes buggy. Well done.

Submitted(+1)

This is a really nice looking game, the premise is easy to understand, the gameplay is easy to learn, I think this is great. The movement could do with being sped up just a little bit and at some points it's not as challenging as perhaps it could be, but as a game jam submission this is amazing

(+1)

Nice idea, and very nice art. Movement could be a little faster and levels more challanging as everything can be solved by sit and wait :) Great work for one Developer though!

just did it. Funny thing is ... I idnt found your game in this post but somewhere else in the community :D

And: Download the Hard Mode ;)

Submitted(+1)

I am pretty sure I saw a very similar board game somewhere! :) looks great.

Submitted(+1)

It surelly as  awesome art and really cool sounds but it is a bit buggy. Anyway a really cool idea.

One of those "easy to learn, hard to master" games where big part of the fun is just the challenge of figuring out all the nuances of the mechanics. Love the tension of seeing how a planned move will actually play out, especially since you're so fragile.

Very lovely mood, really warm and cozy thanks to the great sound design, visuals and music! It's an atmosphere which really makes you want to spend more time in this game.

It was alright, found the control to be a bit clunky and I felt like the game should aromatically switch to the Enemy when you fully used your turn.

Developer

Thanks, I thought about something like that as well. Controls is definetly something i will put more work in :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful game. The concept is simple and well executed, and I love the sound design. The way the lines snapped to corners was very satisfying. The enemy turns felt a little slow though, and perhaps didn't need to be broken into sub-steps within the enemy's turn, e.g. in level two. Otherwise this is a fantastic game, and glad I got the chance to play it!

(+2)

seriously great, if you polished this and added some more levels and content I would buy it

So, this game has one of the best visual and sound designs of anything I've seen on the game jams to date, and I think it's criminal that it doesn't have more plays yet, as it definitely deserves them.

However... (sorry!)

Unfortunately, it looks like there's an input bug with the faries, as I sometimes get a blue line when I think the distance is probably too far, and the instruction doesn't get executed, and sometimes I have to tell a fairy to move twice before it'll move, which really has an impact on how the game feels it plays, which is a real shame. I haven't played the Hard Mode yet, however I do have it downloaded and I will definitely be playing it at some point soon.

Finally, if you don't release this as a mobile game some time soon, I will hunt you down and stand beside you tutting disapprovingly until you do, as it definitely deserves expansion and polish into a complete product. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback and thanks for playing.

I'm aware of the input bugs. There is an issue with the pathfinding I couldn't figure out in this short time period. Definitely I will continue work on this game and fix this in later updates :)

Thanks for keeping me motivated :D

Controls are a bit buggy, i can't really tell where I can and can't move the fairy sometimes, but oh my god this is easily the most visually beautiful game in the jam. Also, the idea is extremely original. Great job!
