Clever idea! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

I've seen it:)))))) thank you for playing!!

Very interesting and intriguing do you plan on continuing its development?

Developer

for sure! once the jam's over ill probably go back over it and patch out all the many, many things that don't work lol

and yeah ill check yours out haha

Submitted(+1)

It's a cool idea, and original. Although I found it extremely difficult to work out the combinations. One of the few games which is completely unique though, from what I've seen so far - so good job!

Developer(+1)

thanks! one or two of the combinations could've been better admittedly haha, but im glad you liked it! im defo gonna go back over it once the jam's over and patch up some of the larger bugs and stuff, and more to the point clear up some of the art assets lol

thanks for playing!!!

Submitted(+1)

Cool idea, but I didn't manage to finish it :D

Also I needed quite a time to figure out what to do. Would be cool if you add an instruction to the game which you can open every now an then.

Developer

Yeah i gotchu, when I go back to it after the jam I'll probably add a hint system or something that shows you available combos so that you can keep playing after you get stuck. Thanks for playing it!

Submitted(+1)

Really original (as far as I know) idea, but I spent 5 mins figuring out what to do! Also, the game tends to have 3 different names .. .:D

Developer(+1)

haha yeah i sort of forgot what i named it in the game and i was like "hey i named it something the reverse of crafting so like, decrafted or something, right? that was it" >nope lol. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

Heh, lol! But I think you can change the game's name here?

Submitted(+1)

On your game page it says to make the world perfectly balanced. The last element on victory seems to make that a rather hollow though.

Developer

Is it a political statement about the state of our society? Perhaps.

Was it a sheer coincidence? I'll never tell

Very cool idea, although I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be able to click on the greyed-out items or not. I could use them in recipes, but they didn't show any description in the bottom left.

It was a little tough to figure out the logic behind some of the combinations. Sometimes it felt like I was just trying every combination (but I think that's something that's common to all crafting-style games). It was definitely satisfying to finally find that combination that's been eluding you for minutes.

Nice work!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! I got a bit screwed by scheduling nonsense so some of the combinations were a bit dubious in retrospect, but I'm gonna go back to it after the jam is finished and patch everything up :) Thanks for playing!

This game is like an inverted pocket god. Most combinations make sense which is impressive given the short time to construct the game. The one other piece of feedback I might have is only leaving the items you currently have on screen instead of greying out the ones you don't have.

Developer

That's a good idea - after the jam is over I'll probably switch it up so that unavailable items aren't visible. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Definitely reminds me of Doodle God! but in reverse.

Developer

haha that was the rough idea! im glad it came through

Submitted(+1)

The concept is really cool. I was super excited to play this, but I got frustrated trying to guess what the recipes were. I wish I were able to look up crafting recipes, so I could figure out the solution rather than guessing.

Developer

That's a fair shout, I wanted to include a hint system of some kind but sort of ran out of time before I had an opportunity to implement it, haha - I'm pleased you liked the idea though, I'm definitely going to go back and go over it again once the jam's over to improve it. THanks for playing it!

Developer

As an addendum to this, I added a partial list of recipes, including all the ones required to win the game, here - but in the future release this will just be ported straight into the game.

scrap + metal = gold? come on :D pretty cool idea for a game nontheless.

Developer(+1)

haha i had no idea that combination worked lmao i thought that was a rock XDDD it was slightly rushed ill confess, but im glad you liked it lol

Submitted(+1)

Decrafted or Uncrafted? Make up your mind xD I like the game idea, nice to play!

Developer

wait does it say uncrafted in game that's embarrassing ahahahahahha

Developer

in seriousness though I'm glad you liked it :))

This game kicked my ass lol. Enjoyed it for the pure ass kicking it gave me and the million times it told me I was wrong X

Developer(+1)

yeah haha i sort of ran out of time to add recipes and stuff so in the Gold Edition (lol) the logic will make a bit more sense, but I'm glad you liked it :))))

Submitted(+1)

Good work in your game. Some times I didn'r understand the logic.

I would appreciate if you could play and rate my game as well https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462492

Developer(+1)

That's a fair criticism to be honest a lot of the logic I would have liked to add I stripped away a little because of time constraints lmao, but otherwise I'm glad you liked it :) I'll give your game a look too

I feel like I need to beat this...   Great job :)

Not sure if I found a bug though, I could suddenly click on ones I'd clicked before.  It can be a bit hard to see what's locked/unlocked.

Developer(+1)

thanks my guy :)))) yeah in playing it afterwards ive noticed that it is kind of difficult to know when items are locked and unlocked at least in part because the background colours i used probably weren't advisable. im gonna patch out some trouble ive had with a few of the systems, it was slightly a rush job to get it in on time haha

in any event, im glad you like it and thank you for the feedback!
