Aesthetic af! Super solid, like wow. I'm quite the casual when it comes to games, especially puzzley games, but this one really clicked with me! :D Great soundtrack too

The game is fun to play, the art and music are excellent! Controls could have been a bit better to give player more control of where to stop. Well done!
Good mechanic, good level design and good execution of ideas, what can be said negatively about this game? Only tiny things that are obvious to the devs, there is a tutorial that comes after the mechanic is implemented and the portals not signaling where they go, but they already know that.
A thing that would benefit the game is a marker showing where the cube will fall before i release my key, many runs end because i go a spot over or under my target, i dont think the arrows are help enough, it should be clearer.
The level design is excellent as previously discussed but some levels make use of a lot of moving enemies that makes the level more like chaos theory with the solution is just brute forcing your way with different tries instead of thinking about it, i think restricting it to 1 or 2 and complementing with a static enemy would make for more engaging levels (maybe even one that teleports between two places or one that turns on and off like a gate, just throwing that out there.)
Theme, you can only move in each direction once unless you get a hourglass, it fits and the entirety of the game is based on that.
Originality, not a crazy concept, there are plenty of puzzle and platform games where you can only move in one direction but havent seen being it done with all four.
Final thoughts, i went deep on what little nuggets i would change because i love this game, it might not be exciting or the most fun but is engaging and compelling, if they add more levels, keep building on it and create a mobile version i can see tons of people glued to the screen for just one more level. I know i would get lost in it while on the toilet and dont lie, you would too.
Thanks for taking the time to play and post your feelings !
That's a super useful ! Looks like you have a solid understanding of what's casual games should be and have player retention too.
Constructive feedbacks like that are why we participate to game jam in the first place.
Thanks for sharing it with us !
And also, your last sentence. Stop reading in my mind. Please.
Hey, I'm like "woah I did not expect such a big and detailed feedback and I'm so happy to read it!".
Everything you said is on point and was or will be fixed in future update just want to add that red enemies should indicate their direction making it a lot less like a trial and error situation but it's not showing in the current WebGL game so if you want to see that just check out the standalone or our gifs.
Thanks A LOT for your review and glad you enjoyed it that much!
Great game! The game could use a little more tuning of the controls (I often had to restart because latency made me stop too late or too early) though that could come from the web build. Very interesting twist on the theme and well designed with great visuals. Me likey!
Well polished game with good level design! The music is great and so is the interactive menu! The sound effects fit the theme well! My only complaint is that sometimes I went too far because I didn't time my stop well. I would suggest making it that you can move in one direction until you change direction rather than until you stop. This would make it easier to time your movement properly and not have o restart the level. However this is a minor problem I had and overall I liked the game a lot!
awesome game. very polished, cool mechanic. very nice overall design. nice introduction to the puzzles. cool music. Also cool that you already introduced the game mechanic in the main menu as a sort of invisible tutorial. All in all just great. Not much to complain.
Unfortunately we weren't able to stream it due to time issues. But thanks for watching.
By the way. Here's again the link to our game. https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462544
Would be cool to hear your feedback on this one :)
very fun, need some description of the things though, the double pyramid thing that gave moves back i didn't understand for a while but the music was absolutely amazing, and the reset animation was impressive and polished for as many times as you have to use it. awesome work
Wowowow! Incredible level design! Looks and sounds great too. There's so much content here! Really clever mechanics and great way of introducing them. There were a couple levels that had few parts that I couldn't tell if I was supposed to skip, if they were there to trick me, if there were multiple paths, or if I was finding quicker ways through levels. I don't know your exact intention with those, but they didn't bother me too much. Also, the movement speed is a tad too quick imo, I think I went too far because of it a couple too many times. Overall, really really great game here. Rated it near perfect.
This must be the best designed game of all the jam! Superb level design and mechanics. Also, the music and background were so trippy. Check our game! https://cerosware.itch.io/one-stick-shooter
One of my favourite takes on the theme! At first I was worried the game would run out of steam with just the control gimmick pretty fast, but just as I thought it would get dull another new puzzle element is introduced. Excellent pacing, good level design, kept me engaged. Love it!
Loved it.. great design, levels are easy but it's potench :D.. good job! Keep it up ^^
I like visuals and the idea of the puzzle, which force me to think in advance and experiments with the movement! Nicely done.
Rolling that cube about felt great. Nice visuals too. I did feel the red enemies were a little too trial and error sometimes, I just had to try out different combinations to see what worked without being able to plan anything. But there were some other neat tricks and some pretty clever level design. Not sure if I finished it or it just hung at a loading screen? Nice work!
This has got some bumping tunes! Also I thought you started off really simple with the levels, which I like. There was one in there though were the green blocks were obfuscating the necessary path, so I got stuck on that. It was the longer rectangle one that had a big mess of them in the middle. The game really picks up when you add the red swirly guys, nice job!
Looking forward to hear what you have to say about Einnsámr :)
Really cool one! The presentation is really good for a 48 hour game, and the core mechanic is really interesting. Good job.
The bane of my life that glitch!
If you quickly want to see what it should be, test the standalone build or test it on Edge / Safari, the issue come from OpenGL 2.0 doing something sketchy.
There is a restart button, press R or Select (should be in the instruction on the game page but we have an update where it will be shown on screen).
In any case, thanks for playing!
