The multiplayer is fake, but I hope it is only when no other players are connected? I don't like being deceived, and having bot icons for the bots wouldn't have been a problem.

I don't think the game would be fun for more that a few matches, and even then, it's really limited. Also, the copyrighted content isn't excusable, since it has been really explicitedly told again and again, and saying that only the windows version can be considered the real submission doesn't explain why you would have put it in the first place.

Hey Epsiom,

I see you discover our little trick :) The multiplayer is yet another twist on the “Only One” theme, which we personally really like and have been openly talking about, so no deception there past the first few minutes. We are sorry you didn’t like it, as so far we have been receiving mostly positive feedback.

As for the song, we felt it fit too well to remove it. We accept any consequence that this might bring, regardless of whether the WIN build is taken into consideration or not.

I’d like to point out that jams are supposed to be about having fun and making nice things together, while you seem under the assumption that this is a very important competition with strict rules. If having licensed music in one of the builds means being disqualified - so be it. We are only in it to have fun and play cool games. I’d recommend changing your attitude regarding these events - you’ll enjoy it more.

Take the best of care,

Mattia

I'm sorry about my post, I was tired, and reading it again, it sounded a bit aggressive.

I don't mean to take the game jam competitively, but i always intend to rate fairly based on the rules of the jam, and I only have a day left until the end to finish rating the rest of my backlog.

Sorry again for the poor form of my previous comment.

heyo, it's all cool!

I saw some of your other comments and I think you're leaving some very constructive criticism - so perhaps this was all a big misunderstanding :)

I should thank you though - you gave me food for thought, so I wrote this post.

The post is not about you at all, but rather the thought process that you sparked!

Take care Epsiom

A great combination of music and visuals. I can definitely see it being expanded to include other, similar challenges that get thrown at you in quick succession. The 'multiplayer' is pretty funny; I guess it can either be interpreted as a 'proof of concept' or some sort of meta-commentary on how online games promise to bring us together, and yet we're alone.

Developer

Thanks for the praise :)

It happened organically in the jam as we discussed in what ways multiplayer is more of an experience or an idea. We had a whole philosophical moment purely because we were cheap haha.

I like all the different interpretations and comments on this aspect of the game - ita a subject ripe for exploration.

After winning 2 matches without problem I started suspecting that the multiplayer was fake, I disconnected from the internet and I could still play it. Pretty cheeky, made laugh for a bit and liked it. The game could've used a bit of sfx after winning to make it more juicy.

Developer

Nice nice detective work :) I think we are strongly considering turning this into an actual IO page in the near future. I think we'll juice it up then!

Why is that song stuck in my head now?! Those are fake people I'm playing against online, right? Either way I feel awesome when I find the person first.

We wont tell if you dont :) Thanks for playing!

Very cool! You made a game like mine but you had FUNCTIONAL ONLINE MULTIPLAYER??? Good job! :D

Developer(+1)

completely functional.

This is so cool! It's such a simple design but the multiplayer element makes it really fun

Developer

Thanks! Look forwards to seeing it on it's own IO page!

LOL, saw your post in the "Whats the hackiest thing you did". This is hands down the best hack ever xD! Awesome music btw.

Developer

Thanks, it's pretty hilarious and though provoking to see people play it.

I sad that i can not play as multiplayer is must be fun =)

Developer

Soon (tm)

Whoa it's mutiplayer! And super fun! The fast pace makes it play like a WarioWare game. It's impossible to play less than 10 rounds at a time haha. Great job!

Also if you want feel free to check out my game, it's much slower though ^^.

Sure thing! Yeah, it's been fun seeing people get hooked in the rhythm.

OH. MY. GOD. I have been bamboozled.

But the lack of multiplayer doesn't make the idea any less great and reinforces the theme of the jam so you're forgiven ^^

Only One

The design is excellent, and the music and short, tight loops make you play like 20-30 times in a row. It feels great to win and it makes you go "AHHH" each time you lose. Great job Big Breakfast!

Developer

Thanks, happy to see you are experiencing the intended emotions!
