Can't believe this was made in a weekend! I love the frantic technique and strategy. Great jams will always keep me playing a game, but this had the jams and engaging gameplay. The 'level ninja' creeped me out at first, like I was making him suffer by repeatedly kicking shurikens . But after a couple stages I realized his pained expression was due to a lack of kicking sharp objects in between levels. I had no choice but to continue on. Would love to see this made into a full on game so my camaraderie with the ninja can continue to grow. A+ effort for making kicking shurikens more pleasant than painful.
Hands up best game I've played so far, I was sad when it was over. The sweet music is still jammin in my head. Had some epic big OHHH moments to win. Could see this easily made into a full blown game. I wish the dash moved the same way as my ninja instead of the mouse, cuz i never dash the right way. Oh and i love that victory screen after every level, cracks me up. Really Awesome fun times.
Paul and JF had a lot of fun playing this on last night's stream. The concept of playing mini-putt with a shuriken is just delightful. The levels offered quite a bit of variety that show the depth these seemingly simple mechanics have. There are quite a few directions you can go with game if you decide to develop it further (and we hope that you do).
You did a fantastic job with this and we look forward to seeing other projects in the future.
Thanks for playing, you guys are super chill and amicable! Being able to watch someone play is vital to the experience, as I'm sure you know. Seeing both of you play gave me a lot of notes, especially at points where I'm breaking into cold sweats when I see you stumbling over a certain point. I will definitely try to get a slightly more polished version of this game up in the near future and I'll let y'all know :)
very fun game!
first of, the graphics and music is very good. i really like the level complete screen.
the gameplay is quick and snappy, and controls really wel. the levels are a good length, and there are a lot of em. i would suggest increasing the fps in slowmo, as it is pretty choppy.
overal, it's a incredible game!
This game captures awesome mechanics. It learned from previous games, and improved upon them. Precise attack via the shuriken, urgency when you lose (or regain) catch of it, and time / dash abilities to get back into action.
It's a rare game that made me want more, in general. More area in the levels, more enemies, more levels themselves. Acknowledging the game jam aspect makes me understand, but damn.. can this one get an extension?!
This feels very good to play. It feels a bit like an old Miniclip game.
I wasn't always sure why things were happening, a more prominent countdown of targets and maybe a ticking sound cue before time ran out would be appreciated. But I did thoroughly enjoy the gameplay of letting loose a shuriken, then chasing it around to make sure it did its job.
This is definitely one of my favorites from the jam! The level design was incredible for a game jam game! I would love to see more levels for this game. If you have the time, I made game of my own for the jam. https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461774
Very cool. I like how fluid and smooth it feels to play this game. The slight slowing down of time to engage with the shuriken a very nice touch and the fact you don't loose but rather can re-engage with it is a nice mechanic. Nice work!
Love the game, really great idea. The controls were a little hard to get used to but apart from that it was a lot of fun to play.
Wow ! It can be a great mobile games (or just game I guess !)
The gameplay is smooth, the character controller is enjoyable and levels are well designs.
The only "bad point" I can make is the originality. One shuriken like the one bullet thing.
But apart form that it's really awesome.
Really good submission. Good job !

This is hands down the kind of game I'd see played in my middle school computer labs while the teacher wasn't looking back in the day. It captures that single-minded purity of the flash games of that day so well, I'm kinda shocked it hasn't picked up more attention just by existing.
The central mechanic is well-realized and reads clearly. The lasers can be a little hard to recognize at first with everything else going on, and I straight-up didn't realize there was a timer at first, but that's kinda the level of quality this submission is at; I'm picking on little stuff that's easily polishable. Well done, guys. Just well done.
