Nice challenging game! I really liked the movement system! I had fun! Good Job!

Very cool idea, I liked the concept a lot, probably better with joystick tho.

The only fundamental think I'd consider changing would be the camera, it is a bit late for the car to be safe while you take time to think what to do.

Other than that I liked the mechanic, Great job!

A great idea that needs more fuel and polishing. A solid game entry, good game and good luck.

I hope you got the chance to check out my entry, Thanks :)

this is a really cool idea and i had fun with the first few levels!

Cool concept! It's also executed well! The main complaint I have tho is that the player movement is too jerky. You speed up and slow down way too fast. Also it could use some more juice. Good job tho!

The game definitely has an interesting concept, but hitbox on the car can be a bit misleading at times, and being able to shoot offscreen makes the obstacles pointless, since you can just spam attacks into the void and get rid of all of them before even starting.

Neat concept with just okay execution. The art and music are super good, and the execution starts off great, but the more complicated the levels get, the more the cracks start to show. The camera, for instance, feels a little unfair and lags way behind the car. The boxes could be conceptually interesting, but they play out as more of an annoyance than a fun challenge. And, as has been noted, you can explode while turning  just because the sprite made a 90 degree turn, which doesn't really feel fair.

The game is painfullyt close to being really good, it just needs some crucial polish in a feel areas that kill the fun factor.

Really liked the art and sound of this one. But like some other people said, the hit boxes seems to be a little strange and the car would explode, when turning.

Oh man, I loved this. Great style and atmosphere, great gameplay, and very creative. Please make a multiplayer version ASAP! My only issue with it is it's a little too difficult (though that's a hard thing to balance in a 48 hour limit). I would maybe suggest making the collision a bit more forgiving, or maybe some sort of heads up for when the boxes are coming up. Awesome work!

The concept for this game is pretty interesting. I think this could be a good game with more time spent on it. It's cool because I think this game could go in the racing direction or a sort of puzzle game direction.

Nice idea. The hitbox of the car is too big, when you turn around, the back of the car crashs on the wall, so it's a bit frustrating. But still you made a good work, the combination of shooting obstacle and make the car advance is pretty interesting

I LOVE the concept for this game.  The design is super solid.  However, I feel the execution could have been a bit better.  Very creative!

Hey man good job with the game! I really like the theme you went for, graphically it was very appealing! The mechanics are nice and very intuitive. All in all good job!

Pretty fun!

Bit of criticism, the hit box on the car seemed to be bigger than it actually was, I died a few times when taking a turn when the car's sprite didn't actually touch the wall. Also if you're too close to wall and try to turn when the car's sprite shifts it'll be in the wall and you die. I feel like the game would feel better to play if the player was a bit faster too, I had trouble some times getting ahead of the car to shoot away the boxes.  I also found it pretty funny when I beat the first level only to watch my car still explode as it kept driving past the finish into a wall. Other than that it was pretty fun to play!

Oh also seemingly randomly the game would play a really loud crashing sort of noise, bug maybe?

The idea fits very well to the game jam theme, however it's a bit difficult to me to manage to destroy obstacles and steer the car. But I really got the idea.

Cheers!

Great concept that has a lot of potential and I suggest you continue working on it. I do have some complaints (i.e. it feeling a bit cramped and the hitboxes sometimes acting weirdly) but I still had a fun time playing it, which is a good sign.

I'm really impressed you were able to finish this game all by yourself! It's a great concept that uses the theme perfectly, and I really like how you did the level design and the way you kept introducing elements. The aesthetics definetly match the theme (even if I could nitpick about the font) and the music and SFX are serviceable (specially considering you seem to have sought them out yourself!)

However, I really think it could have used better balancing. It's a tad unnacessible if you don't have a proper mouse and, worst offense of all, the hitboxes of the poles / the death walls are REALLY unreasonable. It's fine to want a difficult game, but you have to make sure the difficulty seems fair. Also, compounding to the fact, the respawn screens shines a big, bright, white light that really hurts my eyes and the respawn is slow enough that it frustrates me quite a bit to lose. Loss in a difficult game needs to mean "Allright, I'll do better next time", not "Oh goddamnit I'll have to try again"

Overall, though, I think it was executed masterfully and balancing and polish is literally the last thing you should worry about. T'was pretty good! <3 My advice for next time is to playtest it ASAP, IE, make a playable prototype as fast as you can and send it to as many people as you can. It's honestly a general advice for every single jam AND game out there, but it really helps when the game reaches the final portions of its life

Good game.

There are indeed possible improvements in terms of speed but overall it is an extremely pleasant game to take in hand for something done in 48h.

Just a proposal:
- The main element of the last level could have a hitbox and there could be several ways to reach the finish line of this last level.

Congratulations anyway.

I really liked how you used the Tron setting to give this game meaning, and the main mechanic is just enough-ly developed. However, most if not all curves are too steep, which kind of hinders the experience.

Good concept, just wished we could speed up the car more when we shoot it
