That was superb. Played it all the way to the end!
There was some jank in the combat (I'd swear I hit them, but I got hit instead), but that was ok.
It's a shame there was no audio, but that was ok too.
There were a few cheap enemy placements, and I'll hate those deku looking bastards as long as I live
But I LOVED the non square pixels, that was awesome. Loved the art all together, what a lovely palette.
I loved the level design: you did a lot with the mechanics at play.
I'm super impressed by the amount of stuff you got done. Cutscenes, overworld and dungeons? Class act!
Great work all together; looks like the investment you made into pixelbox paid off :) Job well done!
The art style and design of the game is really great but man, playing in silence is brutal. My mind kept trying to create audio to fill the void but it's just not the same. The progression was good as well, considering you get a double jump as your first ability, there isn't much else that the game opens up so completing it wasn't a big time investment.
Movement felt slippery and overly sensitive and jumping was a tad awkward but nothing a player can't adjust to. The final boss fight was solid and brought back some Kirby memories. Overall, I really enjoyed it.
Super good game! Nice cutscenes, great gameplay, good controls, very nice artwork! Amazing! It needs sounds and music and it'll be perfect!
I liked the fun cutscenes and the metroidvania-like gameplay. It's a pity that there's no music or sounds. Controls are too sensitive to my opinion. When I slightly press the arrow key I expect my character to move only few pixels forward, not the half of tile. Shooting enemies are the big pain in the arse. They start to shoot at you while they are out of view. Would be better if they start shooting when you can see them. And also there is a bug in the boss room. There is a invincible door through which you can leave accidentally during the boss fight. And of course you'll have to start it all over after that.
So what can I say in conclusion? This is a not bad game and sure it has the big potential, but it needs a lot of polishing. Anyway it was fun to play. Keep up the good work!
Nice entry. In my opinion you should use less saturated backgrounds for this game, especially in forest zones. And oh the cherry, it should give some bonus points :D
Wow this game is really good! It has a lot of content and the visuals are very nice. It would be really really cool with sound effects and music. I wish the character would be able to make smaller movements. Other than that, great job!
Genius story! Love it - very quirky! Great graphics, sound would really help. Couldn't double jump for some reason.
Oh my god. It's Monster Boy in Atari World! You should put audio in this. Great game with a good personality.
