A lot of really great stuff to unpack here. I really love the art and atmosphere. The lighting effect was very well executed. Definitely makes me want to give Godot another shot!

In terms of design, I loved the risk/reward aspect of the candle. In order for you to see, you had to let the monsters see you. Very clever. Also turned into a bit of a memory game when you're running away.

Really enjoyed this. Well done!

Thank you for your feedback!

I'm glad you liked the game! It took a bit of effort to design all of it since we haven't made horror or turn-based games before, but it was a lot of fun!

Did you submit a game? I'd love to try it out too

Submitted(+1)

I did! It's called MONOCHEM, and you can try it out here! It's a puzzle game where you work on a chemical factory line removing duplicate molecules until there's only one of each left.

I really liked it, for something so small and simple it spooked me. However I would've liked to see more enemies, different puzzles, etc to see how far you can push the theme, it felt a bit too short for me but the base is solid, good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for your feedback!

We were actually worried and didn't want to make too many levels and complexity so instead we focused on making 6 different levels to get the message across.

We've never worked on a horror game before so it was a lot of work to design some of this stuff.

Thanks for playing the game!

Interesting to see that we are using a similar base idea (horror+puzzle+light) but different execution.

Great artwork!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback!

I'll try out your game now too!

love it great fun too play, easily beatable, not too hard, great art, one enemy in the last level stopped moving for some reason but other then that i really liked the game also its a bit short

Developer (2 edits) (+1)

I'm happy you like the game!

You are actually a better player than most people, a lot of people thought it was actually hard so we didn't want to make it harder!

Thank you for your feedback! There is a rare bug with the monster in the last that we fixed but we can't upload a new version until the game jam is over (but it's quite rare so we are not very worried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Submitted(+1)

Really damn good puzzle game. with great artwork to boot.

Awsome game with clearly defined mechanics and good puzzles.

A really clever game, the fantastic sound design had me totally stressed out as well. I love it

Developer

Thanks I'm glad you like it!

We've never worked on horror games before so the sound design was pretty challenging but very fun to do!

Awesome visuals, I love the sound as well !

Really great platformer/puzzle game. Great job :)

Developer

Thank you I'm glad you liked it! <3

Really well made. You got something really smart and fitting the theme so well.

Developer

Submitted(+2)

Bloody hell - this is an amazing game. Amazing job!

My Rating: 5, 5, 5

Developer

Thank you I'm happy you enjoyed!

I played your game too and it's also cool!

Submitted(+2)

This is so great! Puzzle-game mechanics and a horror theme, best combination ever! The atmosphere is on point, level design is great, length was perfect. Great job ♥  I'd love to play this as a full game with more diverse enemies and more story!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! That's a really positive response!

Do you really think this could be a full game? We might actually consider it if people like it XD

A really polished game with some cool sound, a creepy scream and some nice levels. The transitions are a real plus between the levels and I think this is a super cool use of the sprite mask! gg

Developer

Thank you, we were fortunate enough to have the time to put in the transitions to help players keep track of their progress.

Super spooky monsters and awesome game mechanic. I like that you can complete most of the levels with different stategies (remember the path and sneak without candle or kill monsters or just rush)

Developer

Fun fact, you can actually beat the game without using the candle at all. Another fun fact, the previous fact was a lie.

Submitted(+1)

Who is the dark one!?!? I enjoyed every second of this game and I'd love to keep playing! Very polished with a nice use of the theme. Great job!!!

Developer(+1)

I'm sorry to say this but you've doomed us all. Thanks for playing though!

Submitted(+1)

Oh no! I'm pretty sure this can be solves with more levels!

Submitted(+2)

I've summoned the dark one. Glad I did, the game was awesome! Super well polished, with a heavy dark mood. I loved that each stage tries to explore a different way to interact with it. One is just pure scary and about running away from a lot of them, one is about luring it to the spikes, the other one is about luring it down, and then avoids him with the lights down. Really well thought, amazing job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you I am glad you liked it! That really means a lot to us.

Submitted(+2)

The game made me quit after I died to that one monster cause it just scared the shit out of me. I'm convinced it's really good just based off of that and what other people said though. Great job, sadly I won't play any more of it right now.

This is not a bad thing, the fact that the game got me like that is amazing.

Developer

First of all thanks for trying the game!

I'm sorry if the game is a bit too scary, we were actually worried that it's not horror-y enough, so at least we know it works!

Let us know if you end up playing more!

Submitted(+1)

Don't be sorry. It was still a great moment. May play it more tomorrow when it's not 1am.

Submitted(+1)

I did finish it now and it's really good. Amazing game!

Developer

I'm glad you like it! Thank you for the kind comment!

Developer

BOO (like a ghost, not the jeer)

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I freaked out too but then I disabled my sound so that I can't hear it

Submitted(+3)

What. the. hell. The music and the sounds are perfect. And the fact that you made six good levels in 48 hours with this great art and animaitons.

Everything is a great puzzle and the tower showing your progress is a stroke of genius.

Design 5/5

It has great design and you move through the game with a constant feeling of uncertanty and of terror.

Adherence 4/5

It works well with the theme with the one tile seeing in front of you

Originality 3/5

Dungeon crawlers hade made things like the light seeing since rouge so the lightmechanic isnt so original but i think the fact that you can put the light out weighs it up a bit!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed our game!

And thank you for the critical feedback!
