I noticed that if a new wave spawns, the next enemy to shoot tends to be from the next wave even if the previous wave still hasn't be eliminated. This seems backwards to me. I would suggest making the enemies keep track of either what wave number they are or just how long they've been on the screen, then weighting the random to favor enemies that spawned earlier.

Nice game, I really liked the music and the way the enemies worked! Shoot a certain enemy is a really cool concept that is sure to keep players actually immersed instead of just hitting the LMB!

Nice Game!

Man, the game was super dark. I enjoyed it! I really liked that when you shoot something, everything becomes literally lighter.

As others mentioned, the game really gets unfair after a kinda very short time (or am I bad at it?) The concept it really good, but I felt like I needed more tools to obey the strict rule of shooting only one target amidst a bunch of others. Dunno, something like a faster way of re-positioning, or maybe and attack that separates them so we can get a clearer shot?

This really has potential! Oh and neat sound design! Great job :)

You had me hooked, I felt really immersed! The atmosphere is amazing, and it's a really hard game. Really interesting switch-up with only being allowed to kill one enemy at a time, that's why I found myself doing so much more than in a normal top-down shooter: Strafing, trying to get the right enemy into aim.

it does start to get rather impossible after a certain amount of time though, which is why I think the targeted enemy having a bit more movement speed (so it would come out on top) would be nice ^^

Hey, we also made a game! Check it out if you have a few minutes to spare! ^^

I like how simple it is, but deep at the same time. It's easy to think that it's as simple as "Shoot the monster I'm told to", but then you find yourself dodging, strafing, aiming and trying to read who your next target is, all at the same time. Good job!

This game is very challenging (i would almost say it's hard). I think it would benefit from slower wave spawn rate. But overall it's a solid entry! Well done!

Playing this during the game-switching in your stream :P

I really like the core idea of the game, but as others already stated it gets almost impossible to hit the right enemy when there are like 20 others before it. Maybe the one bullet should have a knockback effect so you can push the wrong enemies away?

Found your stream. Made me legit scare because of background music. Pretty hard game after kill like 6 enemy.

Great theme fitting idea. Also great symbolism for depression and anxiety about the world. Very coherent thematically and fun to play.

Submitted(+1)

The design could be improved a little to make sure that the next enemy is easy enough to kill (sometimes they are behind others and it gets really hard) but aside from that it's fun and well done

This felt to me like a great representation of depression and anxiety problems that I felt in life. So, it was nice kinda helping the character to shoot them all down.
Great art style, nice mechanic, controls are solid, didn't have problem with them. Maybe it was a little hard for me, but that's just my skill:)

Your review made me happy, just thanks a lot, that's all I can say

Very interesting idea, difficult and also well made (although sometimes it is impossible to hit an enemy because it is at the center of others).

Congratulations.

Developer

Thanks you for playing!

The graphics are reallly good!

I feel like the difficulty spikes a lot after that first level, like when you have a swarm of enemies, the unhittable ones become shields for the target you're supposed to hit.

Developer

The artist would be happy, thank you! We've decided to keep the difficulty and the chances of getting swarmed as a part of the game design, and that's why we also call it a Puzzle Shooter :)

Anyway, I hope that did not ruin your gameplay experience!

Brave choice, I also noticed this mechanic nad personally I do not share it because it makes the game extremely difficult after the first attempt, it should perhaps have been activated through a setting.

But being a 48h Jam is too much to ask.

Very dark and negative ambiance, great to curb my on-going nihilism!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Actually, the game was supposed to have a brighter idea of you overcoming problems, but... well, something went a bit wrong :D

Really dark and atmospheric, great job!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)

I like the evolution of the game as it goes along. The graphics are simple but nice. The game is quite hard but the progression curve is well adjusted. Good job :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! Have you beaten the game? Thanks for playing (I forgot to put such screen in game, huh)

Love the concept and art but the difficulty ramp is a little fast for me personally. Perhaps if you  continue making this game the enemies could be static until they have LOS to the player. It would be awesome with a cool creepy little town with buildings etc so the player can hunt them down as needed, but gets rushed by a few at a time when seen.

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing and commenting! The game is pretty short and the difficulty ramp is fast indeed even after every room got nerfed the game is still hard for most people. Have you managed to complete it though?

Thank you for ideas, never thought about "open-world" future for the game, but I liek you idea and, really, we might do it in future!

Thanks for playing!

The initial design is good, but the game is too difficult to support the "one HP" design. With many enemies on the screen, they all just bunch up and you will have a harder time trying to hit the "one" enemy you need to hit.

Hello! Thanks for playing and commenting. You got it right, this game is meant to be difficult and sometimes you have to reload to get a slightly better rng. We've got different opinions on the difficulty, and it's pretty hard to balance it out, maybe some difficulty option work or each death could lead to an easier version of level. Some good ideas always come a bit late :)
