A Jam Masterpiece! Incredibly original and funny. Diferent gameplay from what we are used to.The arstyle is super funny too.  And just as I was starting to think I already figured all of the game out, it kept evolving and changing every time. Amazing work you did on this one!

Welp... that was... something :D

The weirder it got, the more i liked it. And boy, did this game got weird...

Submitted (1 edit)

Haha well that was unexpected and made me laugh quite a bit :)

Definitively fits the theme thats for sure, also the art is nice ^^ jokes aside with the "1" thing, replace those with actual words and you have yourself a cool touch typing teaching game

Not sure what i can say more on this one so :

11111111Congrats!1111111:)11111:p111111

(edit)

So having played it a bit more holy cow what a surprise, still since i can't touch type it gets really hard on the final wave :o really enjoyed how the music got way more intense as well :)

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, I am glad you liked it. Just curious... what wave did you play too? Things get weirder at higher waves.

Submitted

I managed to reach the first encounter with the big yellow guy, but i got killed cause i didn't get the right amount of 1's in time :p

Developer

I think you might have missed out on the weird stuff. Type in "next wave" as many times as you want before the aliens spawn to get to where you left off if you want to play a bit more and find out how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Ok thanks for the tip i'll check it out then :)

Pretty solid gag. Some of the text boxes weren't displaying all of the ones, so I had to guess how many ones to type. But otherwise, this is good.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. I have never seen this happen in playtesting. Could you post a screenshot? Were you in fullscreen or windowed mode?

Submitted

Windowed. I can't recreate the bug now though >.<

You bet I placed my fingers on F and J. Nice!

(Spoilers kinda by the way)

Phew, wow. That was something. It was incredible, unbelievable. It proved to me that we need more edutainment games in this day and age. There was one, and one, and one. I got to level twelve or something, not sure maybe. You do need lungs to breath though. Why soup? There were aliens. There were also credits, I thought it was a maze. I guess it wasn't a maze. I finally get to know what it feels like when people can't figure out my games, it all makes sense now. The way to get the ending also makes sense. It all makes sense!

That 0 was upsetting though, words I am fine with, but 0? No.

Also the music was phenomenal. That is all.

Developer

Thank you so much for the positive comment. Congrats on finding most of the secrets. I feel like your comment is the most accurate description of the game lol. The person who made the music loved your comment.

Great idea! This was quite fun.

I would love to see this expanded into a full game where you have to type more complicated things.

I can really imagine it being very cool if you had to type the spells e.g. "fireball lightning weaken" etc.

Good job!

Hey, we made a GMTK game too. Check it out!

I am glad you liked my game but please don't put your games thumbnail in my comments section. A link should be fine.

Not only is this a fun little game with cute graphics and sounds but it also teaches you how to touch type so it's super educational as well.

11111111 <- see, I typed that without looking and everything! XD

Developer

Thank you. I am glad Thomas was able to teach you to type without looking. No one should look upon T̷̹̂̊͊̍h̸͍̤̪͎̓̽̀̉͆̂͂̉̈̑̉ó̷̞͙̀m̷̲̉ä̶͍̻͐ş̸̮͚͕̩̙̦̖͓̙̰̯̀̃̾͂͂̀͆̚ͅ.

I don't like turtles anymore.

Don't worry Thomas still likes you.

This is great! I really like the instructions, it feels just like a real typing game. The art and music really work together to pull it off. It is actually quite challenging to count up to high numbers of ones compared to words. I also liked that the bullet is a 1 too. Nice job!

Submitted(+1)

HAHA I loved this so much! You took only one quite literally  and it made for a very funny experience! Great game!

Really nice game, good take on the them

1111111 1111 111 11111 11 1111

(Translation: This game was weird and fun but I gave everything 1 star because 1 is the only number I know after playing it)

Developer(+1)

Dang, I knew I should have made the number only 5.

Okay, that made me chuckle :)

Interesting and hilarious take on the theme. Well done!

Thank you for your positive review. You can type in "next level" into the console if you want to jump levels.

Submitted(+1)

Thank you Thomas, now I can touch type 1 very well!

Developer(+1)

It is important to learn the fundamentals.

Really funny. I wish you'd have taken this somewhat further, although admittedly I am not sure how.

I didn't manage to figure out how to help the turtle with his alien torture but I thought it was really a cool game! and whenever i would type the word 'escape' the screen would turn grey and wouldn't do anything else, so i might be getting close :) i was hoping it would be a subversion of typing games and i am very glad that i was right! thanks for making it!

Submitted(+1)

I'm utterly delighted. As others have said this is a pretty great interpretation of the theme, but something like this would have fallen short and just felt lame if it wasn't executed well, and this has the perfect mixture of humor, charm, and, uh. Weirdness? That it's perfect.

Developer

Thank you. I try to keep things the right amount of we1rd.
