Neat idea. Not my kind of game. The controls took some time to get used to. I could see the game being extended into an RTS game.

To me, the best game I've played for this jam, fits all the criterias, sure the UI/design/controls could be polished, but the most fun/engaging game I've tried :D
Fun idea, I think this could really be extended to a tiny RTS with worker ants and possibly different resources. The player controller was a little challenging because your character was very fast. Nice job :D
Fun game and a good fit for the theme. However I agree with most of the other comments. I think it would work better if the different actions were assigned to different buttons rather than using J/K to cycle between them. Nice job!
As others mentioned, the mechanics are atypical, creating some friction, but not a barrier. I got stuck inside a cliff for a moment, but managed to escape again. I enjoyed managing attack, defence, and resource collection. The balance makes the game somewhat challenging, but not frustrating. Overall, well done.
I found the controls to be too fast for me and the interaction buttons a little unintuitive so I didn't get very far into the game, sorry!
I also struggled a bit with the controls at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was fun to play. Nice work! :)
Pretty fun game, all the art fits together great. The controls were a bit to snappy, made collecting fuit a little hard, but overall would play again.
Had fun playing this. Loved bashing into the bugs. But please slow down the movement speed a bit.
Controls are definitely hard to get used to but was fun regardless. Would say the movement speed probably needs to be dialed down a bit. Hard to line yourself up with the apples sometimes.

I beat stage one! Woot! It took a second to figure out what to do, but once I understood, I was rolling! I love the 'feature not a bug!' hilarity of bashing the incoming bugs :) LOL, I don't know if that was intended but it was awesome :)
Good game, gets a bit getting used to the controls - especially the J and K! But as a concept its really good where you want to collect for your colony and protect from enemies. also theres a summon which can help protect. I think if the controls are a bit easier, itll be a lot more fun.. nice work!
I am not sure I got the whole idea. I did not understand what is the fruit for. Maybe it is my case but the ant move super fast and it is hard to get close to the fruit. Some visuals to give feedback when you are close to the fruit saying "now you can catch it" would be helpful. The ant is super strong :D, if you collide with the other bugs you sent them outside the screen. I would love to create several "holes" and other ants helps you defending. It looks promising!
Really nice and fun game.
I agree with the others, it would be a lot easier to play if every control had a different button instead of switching between them.
Bug: I'm pressing D, and I'm moving to the right. I then press W and D at the same time, I move diagonally. I then keep pressing W only, at this point, the ant is still facing right. So if I'm shooting, it continues to shoot to the right even though I'm now going only upward.
Other than that, the game is very fun.
Nice game, I really love the concept. I had some problems with the controls though. It expected me to aim at diagonal enemies even though you can only shoot in the cardinal directions (up, down, left, right). I also feel like assigning keyboard buttons to the commands would make it much easier to control, or maybe adding mouse support. It was hard to manage the commands, but other than that, it's a really promising game.
Pretty neat you can push the cockroaches out of the way. The controls might need some work though. Nice entry.
Good work. I remember trying this out in an earlier build from the discord chat. You added a bunch since then. Way to go!
